agreed is really hard finding good spots to crouch next to, i dont see why they wouldnt want it, it would be a great addition to the game, not only that it would be advertising their product :P

Hi guys, weve had a lot of requests in the guild and have been messing around with camera angles and what not, what do you think?
My berserker Mesmer, Rulara, wearing:
Shoulders: Human Cultural t3
Chest: Armageddon (karma)
Leggings: Arah
Shoes: Armageddon
Sword: Bolt
Focus: Anomaly
Greatsword: SunriseDyes: Celestial, White Gold
holy kitten, we’d be the perfect match xD my wep set is twilight bolt and the anomaly ill grab a pic
Lmfao, i dont mean to sound elitist but dude, worry about that when youre on 80, and yeah if you go for a legendary that like 1500g
i thought the mad king outfit was an actual armour set and was upset i missed it, found out its only town clothes still would be cool but im not too interested in t clothes
bloomin good idea, anet need to hire you
I started in Feb on Gw2 and have been a huge fan of the jumping puzzles, all year i have been told that the clocktower was the hardest, i struggled a little on the not so secret city but when i did it i was told “just you wait for the clocktower xD” now i was super excited to get on it, however within 10minutes, i had completed it, is this seriously the super difficult achievement that people complained about, WHEN is anet going to release a reward for skilled content, theyre not against prestigious items as mr sparkles proves this, so why cant they release a jumping puzzle that takes skill,
This message is for Josh foreman: If youre going to try and create a jp that takes skill please please please add randomness too it that way skill is needed not routine
Not to sound rude :C just hope for something difficult
RedConsidering you beat it within 10 minutes (or probably 5-6 runs with the timer), I have to ask whether you watched a guide before attempting the puzzle?
nope tbh id hold myself rather skilled at jp’s but im not bragging id heard that if you stand still you die, didnt take me long to realise why xD, however i realise now that the difficulty last year was because you had to do it with a zerg, i wouldnt of done it that fast with a zerg tbh as i reacted to the levels terrain so in conclusion
I STILL HAVNT PLAYED THE ORIGINAL CLOCKTOWER NOOOOOOO!
thank you monkey for clearing it up, your answer makes sense, looks like to me that its over-inflated but im going to respectfully disagree with making it a single instance, if they did that then i’d truly have no reason to do it, im not a kitten but i do rather enjoy seeing: RedCobra is the top scorer
Red Cobra : 6
Other: 0
Other: 0
Other: 0
Other: 0
but other than that its okay i guess, still confused as to why they made it multi playered in the first place?

Red
you mean youre fighting ghost over and over and you know of a very small chance to permanantly stop the fight while at the same time putting all those poor souls to rest you wouldnt even try it?
Can someone answer me on why rytlocks holds onto this and doesnt give it to queens jenna so she can enter ascalon with it and put all those foefire ghosts to rest, its hurting my brain, is rytlock an absolute moron, not only that eir had broken the counter part Magdaer and sent it off to be reforged, so why not end it once and far all, rytlocks people are dieing and he’s sat there behind his pretty little desk holding onto his pretty sword that he doesnt even use, he doesnt deserve to be a leader in my eyes :C
not sure why a commander build HAS to be full tank to the max
Hence why I asked for the numbers you wanted to lead. Its true that you dont always have to be tank, but maybe I should have taken into account the server, lol.
I am on Piken Square and I can tell you that a dps Mesmer running frontline of a melee train wouldnt last a second against 30-50 man guilds in high tier. You can instantly tell the difference between random blobs (even if they are 60+) and coordinated guilds.
But for 20 peeps vs 20 random peeps, I would still want at least veil (even when using MI) and null field. Its great having those “requested” skills when being the actual Commander. A single veil at the right moment can change a battle and nullfield is critical both offensivly and defensivly when taking a breather in the push (unless you want waterfields).
Edit: to take an example, we just finished a battle on the hill in north bay. Covering the entire hill. All three servers, lol. Probably 200ish people there. In those cases… Yeah you need to be a tank
no no you’re right i guess, i just feel that lower pop servers pressure more skill on an individual rather than commanding, so i tend to run guild groups, i would like to try higher tier one day and will probably switch for say a month or two to get some experience, and in no way am i saying you are like this but i don’t like the fact that most people in higher tiers think they are more skilled than others because there are more people, you said yourself, you go tank, it feels good to survive after getting hammered i can attest to that but in no way does that make anyone better :P but yeah sorry to be a pain but could you explain the concept behind veil? as in its purpose and benefit in a large fight
You need to realize that he plays in FoW, the server with fewer population of all servers ( NA/EU), with the permission of Vabbi. I think he hasn’t ever been in a bigger scale fight than maybe 30vs30.
In such low populated servers, commanders acts more as directors of small groups, than commanders of huge autoattack spamming blobs.
I cannot say anything about improving this build, as I’m not a commander, and I’m in one of the highest populated wvw servers.
very well said tbh, id say the highest weve faced in my group we had around ten, we took about 50, outside east tower from gari, using the enviroment, i agree i dont see the fun in going full tank and if you have to go full tank as a mesmer to survive then ive got bad news for you XD
number wise its for guild so about 20+, toughness and vit is more than enough in my opinion, im usually about 21k hp and dont take too mcuh damage, i do have a mesmer in my close knit sqaud, i have focus so it doesnt matter what heal for centaur runes, not sure why a commander build HAS to be full tank to the max, in my group when faced against larger numbers im usually bursting down about 10 guys, ill upload a vid on this thread so people can see when i get home. i switch out skills if needed,
overall i play a fairly strange group :P we tend to be zerg crushers, i know timewarp is great for a zerg but i have a mes with that, the MI is great for giving target breaks to people who need it
Hi Guys,
Im A commander in FoW as a mesmer, and theres only me and one other atm so its difficult to find advice, im currently using this build:
http://intothemists.com/guides/1376-wvw_mesmer_commander
Although i dont really have any complaints with this build atm and offers high damage and high survivabilty i tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and was wondering if you guys could help me find some weak points of the build
-RedCobra
Quality Maintenance oil (hey I’m not super rich I aint buying no master oil >:C )
For a commander, you’re awfully stingy. :V
haha, yeah i suppose, i tend to spend alot on golems and not that i need gold anymore im currently on about 80g so im running low :C i still keep it for the those really intense situations.
Also heres the link to the guide
http://intothemists.com/guides/1376-wvw_mesmer_commander
Heres the build i currently use when i have my tag on, take note i wrote this for a friend who has begun to use a mesmer for his commander aswell, im open to critisism aswel, ubt be prepared for it to be defended
Mesmer- Phantasm Commander
Defensive playstyle able to deal high damage while staying alive in a zerg.
Weapons
Greatsword – (Assassins)
Greatsword is used as the defensive weapon out of the two sets (surprising I know) but it’s a group fight we’re talking about, when starting to go on low health (<50%) switch to this weapon and keep ranged and resort to defensive utilities if needed.
Sword/Focus (Assassins)
This will be the weapon set that is kept out the most of the time as this allows to place down constant reflection through skills 4 and 5, reflection is vital when fighting against another group, not only does it hurt the enemy it stops those very same projectiles from hurting your entire team, sword has the highest damage on auto attack and with blurred frenzy you’ll be able to deal high damage while staying defensive, ensure that you keep attacking to receive the permanent vigor from your Dueling trait line, more rolls means less damage to be received.
Slot Skills
Heal skill – Ether Feast
Mainly because you can spawn clones fast so with this technique it’s the highest hps heal we mesmers have but the strength of this is the burst, use this when less than 60% hp any other time your shatters and food should keep your health up.
Utility 1 – Blink
I don’t really need to say anything about this apart from use this to switch from sword/F to Greatsword when low health without your heal.
Utility 2 – Arcane thievery
Extremely potent and easily the most underrated skill, in a zerg you will have so many boons to choose to steal, ive had 30secs protection with 20 secs 15might at one point, removes 3 conditions and gives them to your enemy, the main thing to take note with this skill is that it gives the full conditions back to the enemy, for example if a necro places a 30sec bleed on you that will overall take 2000hp, that exact damage and time will go back on the enemy of your choosing.
Utility 3 – Decoy
Don’t use to escape, saving this skill is wasting it big time, use this often when in a zerg, a target break is incredibly useful when outnumbered, as a Mesmer forcing your enemy to have to sieve through your clones to find you again is very helpful.
Armour/Trinkets
Soldiers Armour and Berserker Trinkets with one celestial ring.
Provides very good defence while still keeping most of your crit damage and precision
Traits 0/30/10/30/0
Dueling – 30
+300 precision, +30% critical damage
Critical Infusion Gain 5 seconds of vigor on delivering a critical hit. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds
Sharper Images Illusions inflict bleeding on critical hits
Confusing Combatants Your illusions cause 3 seconds of confusion when they are killed
Far-Reaching Manipulations The range of your manipulation skills is increased
Phantasmal Fury Your phantasms have fury
Deceptive Evasion Create a clone at your current position when you dodge
Chaos – 10
+100 toughness, +10% boon duration
Metaphysical Rejuvenation Gain 10 seconds of regeneration when your health reaches 75% (30-second cooldown)
Master of Manipulation Manipulation skills have 20% shorter cooldowns
Inspiration – 30
+300 vitality, +300 healing power
Vengeful Images Grants retaliation to Phantasms
Phantasmal Healing Phantasms grant regeneration to nearby allies
Phantasmal Strength Phantasms do 15% more damage
Mender’s Purity Remove a condition when you heal
Warden’s Feedback Focus skills reflect projectiles. Reduces recharge of focus skills by 20%
Restorative Illusions Heal a small amount when you shatter illusions
Consumables
Candied Dragon Roll (same as omnomberry ghost but for 20mins instead)
66% Chance to steal life on crit
20mins
+70 precision
+15% bonus experience
With this buff, every 3 crit attacks you deliver you should heal for 350hp, surprisingly effective with a precise build.
Quality Maintenance oil (hey I’m not super rich I aint buying no master oil >:C )
30 minutes
Gain precision equal to 5% of your toughness
Gain precision equal to 3% of your vitality
+10% bonus experience
Gain precision, benefits the previous buff.
there has been a lot of speculation into whether or not they are building a second DE to take the mantle and re-fight Kralk, opening the crystal desert for us to explore, (desert gate).
Healing Turret gives 2 condition removal instead of 1 from Medkit.
Healing Turret has 0.5 second cast time making it very hard to interrupt even with anticipation. Medkit Bandage Self is the standard 1s cast heal. Good players can interrupt very easily. Counter with LoS or blind.
Healing Turret can be combo’d with various abilities to Area Heal with Combo Blast Finisher. In an emergency Healing Turret + Detonate (water field stays) + Shield 4 Detonate + Rocket Boots should give you a high healing spike with CC and movement.
Medkit Healing on paper is higher with the 1-3 skills, however you cannot utilise them when immobilised and each bandage has a 0.5 second cast time, and although you can use them to the fullest out of LoS, that’s 1.5 seconds you are not outputting CC or damage.
Healing Turret gives regen that can stack with Backpack Regenerator that will sometimes save you from clutch situations, but I’m sure some will argue Medkit gives more healing.
Healing Turret has a 15 second CD if stowed and you can stow it even when you are kiting forward, you just have to be quick with Overcharge -> Stow turret. Harder with Super Speed on, but that’s a rare exception.Healing Turret is 5040 heal + 8 second 130 regen = 6080 heal
on 0.5 second cast-time,
15 second CD ORHealing Turret is 5040 heal + 8 second 130 regen + 1320 x max 4 times Blast finish = max 11360 heal
on 3-0.5 second cast-time,
20 second CD
(Combo: Big Ol’ Bomb -> Healing Turret -> Overcharge -> Detonate + Shield 4 + Big Ol’ Bomb Detonation + Rocket Boots)Medkit is 4920 + 1000 × 3 = 7920 heal
on 1+1.5 = max 2.5 second cast-time,
20-15.5 second CD.Medkit is better for Power burst as it can have minimum 10 seconds of fury for the Rifle-Grenade-Toolkit-Slickshoes CC spike combo to crit more.
Healing Turret is better for Condi removal, safer healing (harder to interrupt), and quick spike healing via usage of water + blast finish. Also more self-combos with Fire Bomb and Smoke Bomb for Might and Stealth, respectively.
no phineas is right on, i think thats what it is, people dont learn to use the medkit, ive always been very qwirky when it came to using skills and ive always tended to see things the average person wont, the best thing about the medkit is when ever you are not attacking, you can be healing, without having to put your main heal (5k) on cooldown, also the trait, toolbets reset at 25% means you get 10k instead of 5k, i think this is the main thing you are forgetting.
you seem to be rather good at your maths but youve focused to much on it and you forget about situational details, maths is all well and good when you want to get that tiny bit of extra defence or health. but when people do their maths they tend to miss out some big details like the previous trait ive mentioned.
1. turret is not the best Health p/s also its not really the “best condi removal” its the same as Medkit, not only that you can trait for medkit to do another 5k heal at 25% health for that life saver back in the game moment.
2. scholar runes with zerk gear o.0 its too hard to maintain 90%+ health
3. zerk gear with pistol and shield, seems like wasted dps to me hmmmOkay, maybe saying turret is the best heal overall is a bit over the top. However, I’m confident in saying that it is the best heal for this specific build due to it’s multiple water fields and abundance of blast finishers.
If you can’t handle scholar runes, then don’t use them. I can. I also recommended Ruby Orbs as an alternative. With all due respect this is more of a l2p situation.
P/S is not the main weapon set you will be using, obviously. The set is used, as I already explained, for the shield’s utility, access to a blast finisher and two sigils, and a pretty good blind. If you’re sitting in this set, then you’re doing something wrong.
no im not going to sit here and have you call me out, its not a l2p issue, scholar runes REQUIRE you to stay out of the fight to maintain health, with eng’s not having much damage “avoidance” if you are actually fighting multiple enemies or defending or even assaulting youre going to get hurt, im guessing this is one of those builds then that you wait for 1 person and gank him, is that even fun?
you can stack the bottles, this is for tPVP btw i should of mentioned, not only that we have to remember ive traited for toolkit reset at 25% health, thats what is setting them apart tbh for me
Well, yes, you can preemptively stack some on the ground, but they despawn after 40 seconds and it doesn’t change the fact that the Healing Turret still cleanses 2 conditions every 15 seconds (when picked up) while Drop Antidote only cleanses 1.
There are advantages to using both, though trait selection will always favor one over the other. I am more a fan of Automated Medical Response myself, which works for both the Med Kit and Healing Turret.
well put tbh, do you reckon this is the reason why im asked to change instead of using medkit? or is it the group heal, i use elixer gun for group heal so the cheaky bloomers have got that xD
The med kit is good. It definitely has it’s merits and you mentioned pretty much all of them. The Healing turret just allows you to cleanse condis a lot better and AoE heal on the overcharge skill.
HT has better group utility and better heals over time but MK is great for setting up on a point and getting ready for that moment when things hit the fan.
I disagree that Healing Turret has better condition removal and better healing over time. Condition removal is the same on both healing skills, and the Med Kit has better healing over time, thanks to bandages and a shorter tool belt recharge time. But Healing Turret definitely is better in group play.
The Med Kit does have better raw healing, but the Healing Turret has better condition removal.
Drop Antidote only removes one condition while overcharging your Healing Turret removes two.
you can stack the bottles, this is for tPVP btw i should of mentioned, not only that we have to remember ive traited for toolkit reset at 25% health, thats what is setting them apart tbh for me
the more you know o.0
thank you for that i wasnt aware of that, thats seriously gonna help me out, medkit users unite
nice nice nice, fire bomb is already op i love it >:D say good bye warriors xD
Rocket turret? rocket boots? why would we need more kits aswell, darn ive got 4 kits already xD
1. turret is not the best Health p/s also its not really the “best condi removal” its the same as Medkit, not only that you can trait for medkit to do another 5k heal at 25% health for that life saver back in the game moment.

Thought id post a quick synopsis of my build
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=VW;4sP-9-f67QFx0;9;4T9-EE42A5;30;05;04o0;0w0-H9dZH9dZp-ki-M;17a;0aVdWjXn2v3-a0q-JF2e;5V05NV05N;9;9;9;9;7V6s5u
youll have to copy and paste into your URL bar
rabid gear with rabid pistol and shield go 30/10/0/15/15 with the medkit as heal, grenade kit for aoe condi pressure and elixer gun for combo field and heal, bomb kit for smoke field with point defence for camps and close proximity (aka warriors) at 25% health your toolkits reset meaning you can use your 5k heal again
overall the build is tanky and does amazing condi damage, oh and im weird so for runes i use rune of the inflicted as i use poison and bleeds more so got those instead of nightmare.
im not going to mention perplexity runes as theyre more than likely gonna get nerfed :P
It’s just personal preference, really.
hmm im not so sure about this, however im more confused of the abuse i get, but they do come very close to each other, id definitely use turret in WvW but in tPVP i use Kit
not only that he said Heal turret is your only condi removal o.0 what about medkit, the greatest heal of all :P comes with fury aswell
Healing Turret is good because of its two water fields, which pairs really well with all the Engineer’s blast finishers. But I like Med Kit more as well, simply because of its ability to apply endless swiftness with Speedy Kits, and because you can split up your healing, instead of using it all at once.
Just wish the drop was instant on the kits, so if you rushed across the 123 you didn’t find 1 or 2 interrupted because you hit the next one before they were done with windup.
Yes, that is really annoying! And even more so when you add lag on top..
its nice to see other people use it, even though i get really good results it was rather disheartening to be told constantly that im an idiot for picking it xD solo tpvp for ya lol, but from now on im gonna ignore the haters, they just cant handle my #SWAG,
#YOLO #YOLO
The med kit is good. It definitely has it’s merits and you mentioned pretty much all of them. The Healing turret just allows you to cleanse condis a lot better and AoE heal on the overcharge skill.

im going to pick this for the answer, i cant see that its better and even for team play i think £%$^ loads of bandages help your team more, i prefer to save my blast finishers than waste on health, not only that at 25% i get my 5k heal back with med kit so its extremely useful, however i will recognise that ive had to trait into this so it only works for me, i see that it is chosen for the support to a team,
i like the idea of switching skills xD thats a good point however i mainly play tPVP
thank you
i figured it out, lmao sorry for the confusion, light field with #5 on Egun and then projectile finisher for condition removal
elixir gun. you have the traits for it and it gives a stunbreak and extra condi removal. i’m assuming you’re running healing turret which is your only condi removal.
correct me if im wrong but there isnt any condi removal on the elixer gun
let me add something else aswell, the 5k heal is on the tool belt and my toolbelt skills recharge at 25% health :P
People use the healing turret as an instant heal most of the time: press overcharge (F1) then detonate it instantly for a healing burst. It heals better than the medkit over time.
Really? do you have numbers for the turret? if im asked to defend i point i start stacking bandages and can get about 12k HP worth of bandaging and condi removals onto the ground before im attacked, i then have the instant 5k heal from my toolkit and regen while in a toolkit for the supply heals, i just cant see how its better, alot of people defend the turret so it must be better, but is that always the case? it hurts my brain
This is going to be more of a “Red, you moron xD youre supposed to use it like this” which is probably how it is, i keep getting houndered in spvp and tpvp for using the medkit with my condi engi (grenades) rabid gear, instead of the healing turret, i really find that the healing turret locks you down too much and with the elixer gun and medkit and stay alive while evading attacks, the condi removal and fury is absaloutly tasty, i always find that the medkit is just so much more useful and when i switch out to turret i die,
so im an engi, i use elixer gun and grenade kit and bomb kit for condi pressure on zones, i use rabid gear for the tougness and the precision helps proc fire and bleeds from crits. but i just cant seem to get this heal down can anyone explain for me please?
Thanks
RedC
PvE: Rampager
PvP/WvW: Rabid
very well said and straight foward, 10 points to griffindor!!!
I second this
Genesis you’re right, this is the response i got back from support on my ticket, even though its admitted that theyre contradicting terms due to the splitter having to be a bit more of a generic tooltip, i still feel that my splitter is wasted.
i Dont need to post sources of comments and what not tbh, the official description of the item is this “Will return the original appearance item and stats item from an existing transmuted item. All items will remain soulbound.” when you purchase the quiver you are given 2 items, the back scraps and the quiver skin (cant be equiped its a skin) when you use the skin you are asked wether it be pvp or pve. so we can establish that before selecting it is conisdered the original appearance item and the scraps are the stats item, however the point where i have been lied about is where i am told it returns the “original” item back, if i do not get the option to choose pvp then i do not have the original item back do i.
Please dont read the post in a negative manner i dont mean to rage im simply frustrated that ive had my gems wasted due to anets misinformation
Ive used my splitter on rox’s quiver so that i could have the option to choose it in pvp again as it came with the scraps, i was under the impression after being officially told that it would give you back the original items, now thats 300 gems down the drain, can i get my splitter back?
I got dusk with mystic forge stones and cheap exotics. I tried this after wasting 700+ rares.
Sorry, but i speak spanish xD
if you use 3 GS’s with Mystic forge stones though you wont get back a greatsword, which means you could end up getting somehting crappy like the bard xD instead of the dusk/dawn you was after
Yeah, it’s called Dueling, a lot of people want it. There’s a long thread of it somewhere actually. But I think you’re suggesting using PvE gear in sPvP(?)
well, yes, but it seems like anet is not going implement dueling.
hmmm nah. spvp will be using pvp gear.
i am talking about making new private instance of pvp game rooms, with pve gear.
actually, i posted about a world editor thing where people can create their own rooms, set their own rules, but no one seems to bother and some mod shoved that thread into the forum graveyard (the suggestions forum where no one goes)
actually in an interview with matt visual and colin, colin said that he is going to be implementing Guild halls and dueling, he just doesnt want it rushed
Never use rares, only exotics. Also, the last attempt before you go broke seems to be the luckiest. (Personal experience and guildies)
i did my last Toilet run with 350g and it was in the last 20g that i got dusk o.0 so i think im going to aggre with you, do it with pearly broadswords, thats what i used (lvl80) just get the 2g ones, you have a higher chance of getting named exo’s aswell
I love my Juggernaut. The splash of quicksilver as you swing and strike the ground, the improved footsteps and the armor shine is nice too. The best part though is the ability to change stats depending on what i’m doing. Anet, hats off to you on whoever came up wit that idea. He/she should definitely get a raise.
Entropy and Genesis are nice too but they are “welfare” legendaries
It’s…. a….. thermometer o.0
can i get an official response or a link to the source on this news about legendaries being made account-bound on use instead of soul-bound?
It would totally make my day!
There is no official response, but colin has said he is going to do it, just like how he said with guild halls they are going to do it properly instead of rushed, no official on guild halls or duels but they are still going to add it
np^^ its something ive been very closely following as all my chars are designed after twilight xD
Yeah cool o.0 until you realise its just a giant thermometer
That would have SUCKED if you had made it in order to sell it. Be careful out there people lol
Or worse, soulbound it on a character that couldn’t equip it?!
(Unless you can’t set stats on legendariea you can’t use).
white wep transmute trick with an transmutation splitter and youre sorted, the sell issue is serious though, im not sure on how big the warning is though
Everynight for the next 2 weeks everything I have! Hard pushing for my pre!
Everything down the mystic forge!Only using named exotics no more pearl weps.
God of RNG grant me Dusk!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! named exotics dont make a difference xD the only Vectors are LVL and RARITY i did mine with LVL80 Exotics, they dont need to be named, ill try and find the thread but it has been confirmed by devs over and over, named doesnt make a difference
