ive recently started going for gold and tbh 90% of my income has been through farming different sources, this includes dungeons/fractals/SPconversion/metas/orrchains and the last ten percent is yes you guessed it, the TP ( no im not as good as the 1% :P)

i personally dont like helping people i dont know incase they turn into someon horrible, but my guildies and other friends i help i think i must of nearly got through my entire guild helping them with there legendaries, me and my brother made it our mission to make sure our entire guild had them so ive always been close to 10g :C
ive recently stopped though due to handing over around 600g in mats to this one member and my brother gave him dusk in which he thanked us by leaving the guild and transferring (yeah made me sad :C)

I have done plenty of hawking on this forum but i do it in a subtler way than you I guess. Another difference might be that i have build up a reputation compared to you because people actually made some gold from my tips and thus are more inclined to believe me.

If you truly believed that dolyak runes will be more popular because of increased regen after the patch, the smart thing to do would be to salvage those armors with a BLSK to get some extra ectos and save inventory space, as the runes itself stack, armor does not, and wait until after the patch to sell.
To increase your chances of other speculators raising the price, you could have posted in an already existing topic on this forum that deals with speculation about the feature patch and related price shifts. It would also help your cause, if you would have provided a link to the interview and would give an example in which game modes people like to use dolly runes.

If your information was accurate and not dolly droppings, you can utilize other peoples buying power to increase the price of the item and even make some of them a little richer, adding to your reputation.

If you would have done so and waited with selling your dolly runes until next week, you might have gone out with 100g profit instead of 10 gold.

Oh, looking that way, sure I agree.
But in the long run WvW can make a good amount of gold, but far from be as effective as proper farm.

this is the problem with most players though they just want to passively earn it (even though i “Kinda” did) when it is relativly easy to get (for an endgame item) if you actually work/try to get it instead.

and yeah WvW is pretty tasty for them heavy loot bags

This seems like a pretty good solution actually. None of the individual components require too much skill, they can all be done either solo or in small groups and they cover the various aspects of the game.

Really the “problem” parts of legendarys are the precursor rng and the fact that you can buy them with a credit card. Make them account bound on creation and revamp the precursor acquisition and I think legendary weapons would be both rarer, more skill based and less of a problem.

unless you make the pres account bound 1000’s of pre’s are gonna be injected into the market, that bad, but yeah those suggestions are really cool, free pre for me

You can’t exclude the WvW time, I personally get a good amount of gold/materials there.

Also game time rise your gold exponentially, if you play 2 hours a day you don’t make 1/6 of the gold of someone who plays 12 hours a day. If you play 5 hours a days you’ll be making WAY more than 5x of what a player that plays 1 hour a day makes.

sure and you havent been lucky …. ….so how’d you get your gold? WvW drops are hit and miss, and for many servers a very very poor way to make money …

who wants to spend 2 hours a day for a year, earning gold, for 1!! weapon. There are other things to buy too, but one cant if they have to save everything for that 1 legendary.

where did i say i spent 2 hours a day (nice roundup btw by 20mins) earning gold, things like occasional dungeons, a bit of tp investments and maybe the occasional farm when the mood was right, id only use the term “getting lucky” if i got a pre as a drop, which i have never got one,

What? The games I listed don’t tell anything about the game, just the universe it’s set in (e.g. Azeroth and Tamriel). Just like how Guild Wars 2 tells us it’s set in Tyria. But since you really need an example of an MMORPG that doesn’t tell you anything about the game, how about Perfect World.

Increase its drop rate in the likes of higher level fractals. Hard dungeon paths like aether TA. Add some chance for it in WvW and PvP. But decent chances, There’s no need for it to be as rare as it is.

Just more ways to get the kitten thing. As it is. Its not challenging…its luck…complete luck.

More importantly, bring in new weapons with stat swapping that are plain/boring so that legendary can hold on to “being the fanciest out there…but thats all”

I couldn’t agree more, the only thing that disappoints me with them is that it’s an item that can be obtained by throwing money (ie gold) at the problem.

since the dawn of creation of games, they have been about using skill to overcome challenges, this brings ego into play alot when dealing with games, which also brings in counter forces to said challenges, but respectively games need challenge to exist, gw2 has little challenge other than arah p4, solo lupi and liadri, its quite literally treading on ice, (however the challenge im refferring to is for PVE only)

It’s been out for 1 wintersday. We don’t even know if they intend on bringing it back for next wintersday. Regardless because of the shear volume of people asking for it I think it is likely we will see it again.

Lorewise, grenth is one of 2 or 3 gods typically associated with wintersday in Tyria. Grenth and Dwayna are the main gods, but I did see someone mention balth but I don’t know that lore. Anyway that’s why they are considered festival hats.

no no you will damage them so long as you leave the range of the enemies that are filling your 5 cap, you have to move though and with GS#2 on guard you can just stand still

1.) It’s not the scaled helmet. I know my GW2 armor, and that’s not it.

2.) I couldn’t care less if you think it’s boring. I like the helmet personally, and I’m sure many would agree. (See what I did there?)

3.) Helmets are among the easier armor parts to skin to characters, and since the actual model is already in-game, it wouldn’t take that much effort to make it available for the players as a purchasable skin maybe. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Easy-peasy.

Its not about GS but Staff since its the only ranged autoattack (i think) that can 5 targets.

Also i’m not really sure if whirling wrath can tag more than 5 mobs … isn’t that normally the AoE cap ?

However .. last time i have farmed in Orr with my staff guardian was in October 2012 i think

i totally thought you could have staff and GS at the same time im so sorry, and for the record, the GS #2 goes over the cap by whirling through the enemies and tagging different caps after each other through repeated projectiles
