It seems that most people who see this skill give up after a few secs of testing, however for those that carried on realised a few awesome facts
1) very short cooldown – after reduction you have it to 16secs
2) after being hit with a projectile the remaining channel time turns to blocks
3) when blocking it counts as stability
4) you can proc the block yourself with friendly projectiles (winds of chaos/iGreatsword)
5) after absorbing the first projectile it reflects projectiles
6)sometimes the skill can be used for its original purpose, here are a few
-against a d/p thief block black powder shot start block and avoid backstab
-pistol mesmer yeah you get stunned but you get the stun back a dodge and mimic will sort this out
-lich necro/zerk DS the projectile absorb allows you to absorkitteneflect the next and fire it back effectively doing a double shot allowing you to do around 5-8k damage
the original use has few useful applications however this skill comes with a high skill cap, get used to using your GS#2 or your staff #1 and you can have a very good 16sec CD 4sec block
edit: 0.o when did the duration increase lmao okay 20 sec block when reduced, still thats very good

WHAT THE ACTUAL KITTEN (meow) ive got a 4 sec block on a 16sec CD be quiet and stop spreading news about this awesome skill, if you use a GS by the way you can proc the block yourself, works awesome in 1v1
Restorative Illusions is useless, unless you pick IP. The trait is bugged so with IP the based heal is counted twice, and healing are reasonable. But even with both IP and RI, the healing is not that awesome.
Was testing 0/2/0/6/6 S/S+GS before the critical damage nerf, and it wasn’t an ideal build. Yes, I had tons of survivability, but the damage was pretty meh, and it require lots of skill to manage to be success.
With the introduction of Ferocity, the build is no longer worth. Damage has gone, and with no other role than self-healing, it’s easily outperformed by other options.
never once did i say it was a good trait, i would never pick that, if forced 30 into inspiration i would pick the condi removal everytime, what i said is that RI outheals the benefits that 1000 healing power gives for a few seconds. its too weak imo it should of been heal on interrupt instead (1000hp)

Keep in mind malicious sorcery is bugged when it comes to reducing the recharge of illusionary counter (has been for months). IC is the only thing decreasing the recharge and even that is bugged as you get an 8.5 or 9s recharge though the tool-tip states 8s.

the tooltip is incorrect you can stack two reductions and get 40% off, the counter IS on a 6 sec cooldown, i used to run a phantasm counter build with scepter/sword before they ruined it by adding torment xDSo 4 points in inspiration for a 2sec block reductions….. Think those points could be better spent? I would also like to add that we tested this in OMFG months ago and it wasnt working (not talking about the tooltip) I would say skcamow is 100% correct. then im afraid your guild has an incredibly bad set of testers or FYI NEWSFLASH there has been plenty of updates/patches since “months ago” xD what kind of person says we tested this “months ago” lmao id get fired if i told my boss that at work, and another point, who said i took that trait for the double CD reduction, it gives a reduction on your confusion and 200 more condi dmg.
EDIT: ive said it before and ill say it again, stop spreading misinformation, i theory craft a lot and the one thing that winds me up more than anything is people throwing around statements such as “im 100% sure” and “that is wrong” when they are clearly just using theory themselves, i tested it last night and it starts the cool down with 5 seconds, meaning its hitting a 6 sec CD which as long as the laws of mathematics haven’t changed (which they Haven’t, i should know i checked it months ago ) is 40% off the original 10secs

tbh that healing trait doesn’t out heal a shatter with restorative illusions, it is only guaranteed to affect regeneration and that only really comes from your phantasms/PU in which you dont go into in your original/first build, i know its good that people are trying to use this trait but in a real situation its too hard to actually use accurately.
very good server for WvW, hands down the best community ive been part of, first time i felt like i wanted to give something back to people ^^

perfectly acceptable, i never ran condi removal on my shatter simply because the dps was my shield, im too focused at looking at it from a spvp perspective where everyone you bump into has condi, but just by swapping one of your utilities for the mantra of resolve would do the job in that case

i used to have the 30 points in chaos but found that ive played the mesmer long enough to realise i dont need that extra survavabilty, by going 30 into illusions ive given my self a counter on a 6 second cooldown (extremely useful against thieves/wars) and also my shatters recharge at 50% hp , better for guarenteeing more stomps.
not only that but youre all looking at the trait way to hard, i play like normal and my counter is more often, once running the fight into the second stage where you go for the final burst the shatter really helps for giving the extra damge as you can shatter then roll/produce another clone with stafff and shatter with cry of frustration
the extra 5 stacks of torment for 4secs and the extra 7 stacks of confusion for 4 secs makes a hell of a difference for finishing someone off
thought i may aswell add on, that you switch wep for poison with prestige flame and the torment block pre-emptive, use a heal and shatter, follow up with your confusing images and youve just gone and stacked this:
8 stacks of torment
6secs of poison
8secs burning
8 stacks of confusion (short yeah)
and maybe 1 or 2 bleeds, more if you had clones up
i dont know about you but with 1.7k – 2k condi damage this melts people in pvp not to mention youve got everything on an extremely short cool down, your torment is only on a 6 sec cool down, i ran this against a war and countered every single one of his eviscerates, i was at full health

id be happy to duel you sometime to show you, i used to run 30 in chaos with pistol and that was rather decent at melting people however i found it too passive, and the PU just ment i practicall beat everyone or they ran away, the shatter gives better condi damage and the 4s torment is added bonus, plus confusion per clone wiith might stacking, this build hits seriously hard, you can also have the sigil of corruption if you want to get your condi dmg above 2k
Ive currently been playing a burst condition shatter build in spvp and im finding it extremely powerful, its quite good to have a condition build with the mesmer that doesnt rely on your opponent attacking you

yeah i know, that one is up to you what you have on, for duels i use the signet and for pvp i use blink, but that trait doesnt make that much of a difference

it all depends on how you see it tbh, nothing of what he says is personal anyway so no reason to take it personally, i tend to be modest quite often even though when im forced to admit i tend to win alot of duels, modesty doesnt really help you improve though, youve got to be critical
he’s not actually like that its just messing around, i dont think he genuinly thinks he’s a better person than you just because he plays a game, some people just get but-hurt too easily, me and my guildies do this all the time, its funny to claim youre the best when youre ribbing each other, it just provokes people to try harder giving you better practice.

this is why the skill is bad: very bad
1. extremely loud obvious visual tell (can be seen a mile off)
2. cast can be dodged
3.cast cant hit someone with aegis
4. cast will miss if you’re blind
5. when they are moa’d they can dodge,#2 leap and #5evade attacks and run away
6. very long cooldown
7. long cast time
8. you lose your dignity

tbh this just looks like it wont do enough damage :C i would never use torch with a staff, its dropping way too much dps, youd have to go full zerk, tbh we can duel sometime, ill use any class you want me to and ill be confident you wont beat me (not trying to boast im just saying its not a good idea) if youre trying a hybrid, this is one i use in pvp duels and its pretty decent

it actually gives the potential in doing more damage that your regular shatter, albeit ive dropped my boon removal so i wouldnt recommend it for tpvp unless you drop the mental torment :C
They can certainly say it’s 100% not Anet if they please….it’s entirely up to you if you believe them or not. The fact remains that the majority of the latest hacks are due to email accounts being compromised (not ANet’s responsibility). There are not THOUSANDS of players reporting hacks (like in the case of the PSN issue), so stating, “that’s what PSN said.” is really not applicable in this situation.
Now saying that, I do think ANet could reduce the number of hacked account if they simply QUIT allowing passwords to be changed by a simple email request, but I’ve expressed that concern in the past and would really just like to hear they are considering changing that policy.
No they cant, they have oblications to thier customers, what annoys me is that they will blame the customer first with literally 0 investigation, all companies do this to protect their image, not once did i say that anet had been hacked either thats ludicrous and i do believe that all incidents have been the customers fault, but that doesnt mean they are 100% and it doesnt justify the language they use, like i said, blame customer first, just look whats happended to ebay, if anet had been breached (i highly doubt it) they wouldnt tell you until the very last second

i always love reading the “we’re perfect its your fault posts/3rd party’s fault” you know? PSN said the exact same thing, its just like when the connection goes down and the client tells me its something wrong on my end xD i dont think so, but yeah its quite bad to say we’re 100% its not anet, there could be an insider, youre 99% becuase in my experience its always the cheap fan websites and other guild websites that let your passwords be compromised but MAINLY guild sites like enjin and shivtr and maybe even your own made ones. but you can never say youre 100% sure its not anet
people are getting off track :C i dont think the OP wants it there to skip the levelling process, its just that when you have a Hardcore WvW guild (which are needed to win tourne’s) your guild wont allow you any time to go and level an alt, at least this way (even if its 3000-5000 badges per level) people will still be able to level alts without sacrafices PPT in WvW ^^ upscales harm your server which is silly because anet promised that anyone can play WvW and we know thats not true, the scaling is bad

this is wrong in so many ways, lert is right the skill cap is so much higher, and the builds are completely different to zergers so alot of players (even if theyre skilled) dont know how to play in a havoc group
exactly, some people take WvW very seriously, RoF has already had to deal with hackers from FSP and now saboteurs from FR, so imagine how many there would be if this rule wasnt in place
i want this so badly omg, im currently having to do pvp to level my alts, i hate the traditional method sorry :C (its boring after the first 4 times) +1000 from me
the problem as i see it is the aoe cap and how it punishes smaller groups, we cant hit more than 5 per 5 so if were very lucky however we can be hit by 25 aoe stacks on top of us??? that’s fair isn’kitten we can only hit 5 but can be hit by 50? yeah definitely completely fair

i pretty much had this, i 2v1 a war and thief with my power ranger (lol) and beat them, i then got whispers saying that i play a cheese build and all i do is stealth over and over, i mean WTF the thief was d/p and that warrior was ham bow, oh and i got called a pve hero for having a legendary -____________-
This is what i use in soloq and i pretty much never lose, 1v1s are easy and can quite easily kite and fight outnumbered, if youre new to the power rangers (love saying that) then id suggest swapping sigils (not the energy) for two silgils of intelligence and getting cavaliers :P
i dont want to be rude but trying to do a hybrid with a ranger without using a shortbow is like breaking your legs and trying to run a marathon, you wont be doing enough damage :C
tbh i really like this, its nice to have extra regen during smaller fights ^^
You could always run the new condi guardian burn set up. Sword torch…scepter focus i think it is. Consecrations for grp condi removal aoe burn, and stability. I will say its a bit weak vs other condi classes but you can perma burn ppl despite their condi removal. Not sure of the exact build but it might go nice as it is a bit unexpected at this point.
if he means havoc as in properly causing havoc to pug zergs and holding tower/camps, then that wont suffice im afraid, my engi with every condi known to man has difficulty fighting the huge amount of condi cleanse pugs have, even if you could apply burning every second you’d still be looking at a 50% uptime of fire only in outnumbered fights
Agreed. Healway is pretty solid. It can tank, CC, heal.
Not sure about the 2nd one. 2 healways is pretty boss but a more DPS spec that still brings Stand Your Ground might have more synergy.
one of my guards have full clerics and then me with Soldiers and then clerics trinkets, the other 3 use very offesive builds so with the two guards keeping might at 20stacks through out a fight i dont feel that risking a guard with extra dps is worth it, they provide huge condi clear, huge healing, and huge amounts of boons while giving out mediocre dps with GS so within fights of 15+ it is absaloutly certain you need those two guards alive, especially when they are required for pulling zergs with line of warding

i want to open some loot bags, but from the items that come out of the lott bags i want the equipment to be level 40 for a certain item i need to have the character at level, at what level does the equipment level change, or is it directly connected to your level and not a tier?
Regular loot bags have a static loot table, the level of the character that opens them, doesnt matter. Its only champion bags that are affected, if you mean that.
Here is an overview which levels of equipment can produce 2 different tiers of salvaged mats:
T1/T2: 13-19
T2/T3: 27-33
T3/T4: 43-49
T4/T5: 57-63
T5/T6: 73+

Healway are good in a dps focused group, good might as well, use GS and staff, 2 healways is what i have in my squad with one warrior an ele and a engineer, this gives the possibility of taking triple your numbers so long as you sparta them, remember that you arent a commander, you are the position-er (if leading) and are part of an equal team
Edit: in fact your guardians are gonna need staff for area denial or you wont be taking on any larger numbers than 5-8, necros,eles,guardians are perfect for area denial and should at least have 3 of those if you plan on taking on large pug zergs 15-30

Does anyone know what the levels are for each tier of items for example salavaging weapons for wool, what level would you need to be or having to be level 21-28 for a silver doubloon etc etc
maybe for the fine materials as this would give the best basis to work on ^^ im going to create an alt for each tier
as for the retal, with other guardians try to hold of on using sword 3 and gs 2, theyre killers as they will take about 3k damage off you in some cases, keep pressure with your blinds and auto attacks (on gs dont use sword auto) use your shield of wrath as a weapon instead
at the start of a duel (first duel/one trick pony) i pop shield of wrath wait 2 secs then start the sword #3 skill, tele with JI and pop VoJ before teleporting then you hit your smite condition, hit sword #2 for the blind then switch to GS and use 5 then 3 then 2 then 5 again with 4, finish with auto
quite a nice burst against people who arent used to fighting semi decent guardians

well i see where you are coming from but costume conversion would lose anet quite a lot of money, maybe if they had heiloom gear because as i level up with a upscale in WvW they get worse until i level up the gear
