If the Cleansing Bolts work similar to Water/Whirl’s Healing Bolts – effect applied in a small radius upon colliding with an enemy or surface – then they should be able to cleanse conditions from you if used inside an enemy or at least a few if used against a wall.
Don’t have an easy way of testing this so cannot say with 100% certainty.

According to the wiki, the bolts will only cleanse you if they hit a target for whom you are withing melee range, similar to how the water field’s bolts work.

As far as their effectiveness with WW, I cannot say offhand. I would need to explicitly test it. You would have to make sure that you are WW’ing right on top of your target to ensure that the bolts from the whirl will actually hit them (maybe more than once).

In any case, my opinion of whirl finishers are that they are simply terrible and should never be relied upon. If nothing else, I would simply consider that such a combination will not cleanse any conditions on you or anyone else, and thus not base any of your build or gameplan around that.

money has already been mostly made on sigils form the announcement, speculators now have that market closed down, as for runes im not too sure.

thats why i was confused when everyone was saying that vols guide will be dead after the 15th, so a few 1-15 metas cant be done big whoop

and about sab, while i agree that it annoys me when people complain about immersion brekaing things when they have to go out of there way to play them you do have to be honest that sabs LS event did throw a ton of 8-bits characters all over the world, that i agree with them on but as long as they dont do that again then i see no problem with having it in the game as a permanent addition

Many professions have a speed boost built in, like necromancers. Mounts will just make the game less enjoyable to play. Why? It is because players on mounts tend to agro everything and run past players not on mounts and that causes issues for those players. This was very common in Rift and TERA, 2 games that have mounts.

This phenomenon already exists in game. Not just once I stood parked on a WP for some time and players travels near there followed by a mob which just stopped and start attacking me. That is just not a reason.
And I do not say that with mounts WP should be removed or reduced in number. Instead of using a Fire Great Sword to travel quicker, I just could very well to ride a mount. Nothing is changed in terms of gameplay rules. About combat, as others mentioned, a mount could have HP. If you get hit a specific amount of damage, you dismount.

i played guild wars 1 for about 3k hours and ive now played gw2 for the same, so in everyone who says that they dont want it because of gw1 its rubbish, speak for yourselves and dont shove your opinions into other peoples mouths,

colin johanson has already said that he wants to do guild halls and dueling, he never actually mentioned gvg o.0 he just said he wants to do something big with it and not just waste it by placing some cheap feature in the game, he said it in an interview ill try and find the link

if i drop staff ill loose about 50% of travel speed and my protection against decent thieves/warrs if i drop GS ill kinda lose the dps, but tbh scepter clones suck xD id rather not have bad clones they need to be able to stack bleeds

5 into dominations is so useful when zerging combine that with the omnomberry food and the 3condi removal on kill and youve already got yourself and amazing heal over time, 2k heal per kill

okay after looking at it ive dropped 10 from inspitation and placed it into dueling for a full clone death hybrid.

looking at the gear setup im confused on where youre losing the stats, it looks like a hybrid but with less dps hmm, almost a clone death build id suggest 10 in domination for that tasty crippling dissipation its too good to ignore and tbh while IP is good i wouldnt really reccomend it for a condi shatter, just get a staff instead then use the confuse on blind making chaos armour deadly

still finding it unfair that you cant have to sets of cooldowns if using two of the same wep, dual staves would be awesome for zerging

While i dont use a torch this works amazingly for the aegis when stomping and kinda works like the thieves blind on stealth to stomp, not only that, i play alot with a thief and find myself stealthed alot through leap combo and BP and Shadow’s refuge.
however i do switch to Chaotic interruption if solo’ing

Nuff said, became a crutch since start and i cant live without it

With direct damage it doesnt matter if you loose a fight – its still going to be an epic fight. Basing your style around hiding in stealth while conditions tick… not so much epic.

Most MMOs have entire classes built around dots. It makes for a more strategic way of combat. Your total output is limited, only the delivery is in your hand. In turn, you have to buy your damage time to destroy the other person.

It’s tricky to implement right. It should need active babysitting, but not too active – after all, most of the time should be spent on defence. In this case I think the buff on PU merely went too far – maybe it was even unnecessary. I’d revert it for another WvW season, see how that works out. Maybe buff stealth a bit baseline, especially when taken in small doses (only a single ability).

A good permstealth thief is basically impossible to kill, but he won’t be able to kill you either. Duels between PU mesmers and skilled thieves always end up in a draw where nobody kills the other – if the thief approaches he dies, if he doesn’t approach he can’t kill. Until someone gets bored and quits the fight.

lmao, pretty much as long as the mesmer has mantra heal, its looking like its gonna be an endurance match then

@vikingjorun, he plays D/D but he often changes his offset to mix it up, probably one of the best d/d thieves ive seen, the issue is he is at your back stabbing way before you expect it, so things like blurred frnzy need to be used pre-emptivley, sword thieves tend to be squisher and a well time interupt can end up shutting them down, its just leanring self control when fighting s/d

@osicat, i dont think i could agree more but thankfully he runs full cav armour and trinkets so i just need to worry about his backstab, i know he runs zerk bow usually though with the Sigil of perception on, its best using the counters to avoid specific attacks, and when played well can offer an extremely high amount of active defence, i just would recommend using it against other mesmers xD unless you had a backup wep set

I recently ran into conflict with a co leader to the point were he was taking half the members to create a new guild, considering the amount of work i had put into it i wanted to make sure the members stayed together so i let him take the guild and removed myself from it.

Im from Fissure of Woe so if i was to join another guild in that server or try to create another one then im afraid that the original guild will split up, long story short im looking for a permanent guild for me to join that focuses in WvW roaming (like a terror group xD) i have no problem with transferring as i have got along with a lot of vabbians in the past and they’re mostly decent players.

About me:
Ive played mesmer for as long as i can remember, and am crazy about all things mesmer, if youre looking for one to join a small group then look no further, i run mantra heal and have no problem diving into enemy zergs head on
I have all the necessary voice programs so i don’t think there is a problem there, im 20y/o and am english speaking.

Most of my time in gw2 is spent playing WvW and im the kinda guy that is more worried about class changes instead of LS when the patch notes come out xD

i was considering the hammer, but (oh dear i hope he doesnt read this xD) he isnt the greatest player at the warrior and a hammer needs better positioning in group play to survive so i thought at least with the immob on cripple with sword he keeps cc and mobility aswell for extra survavability in WvW

In an outnumbered fight, things can go really bad really fast. It’s very tough to keep up the pressure and properly avoid incoming damage from multiple people just using active defenses. I roam with it in wvw, but you’ve got to be very aware of how many people you’re getting into a fight with.

As far as standing against a gs boon strip shatter, yes. Basically, this build is incredibly difficult to fight for anything that doesn’t have strong and reliable access to blinds and/or interrupts.

Ive been on an eternal struggle to find the one size fits all build for the mesmer but im getting to the point of giving up. i feel the counter setup is somewhere along the lines of what i want, maybe try your build but with a GS instead of the sword pistol for 1200 range pressure

Relying on active defenses (which this build is based around – well, most Mesmer builds in general) will always require more skill than relying on passive defenses.

this is the reason for the very large margin of skill between players, hence why some mesmers just get rolled over and some are the ones doing the steamrolling

id suggest taking a look at a build ive been working on for single target shutdown, looking at it and mesmer being my main i think this would be rather painful to fight :S

Spot them before they spot you, one hit kill them before they see you – nobody can dodge a bullet coming from behind their screen.

If it doesn’t end they’re so close to death by that point that Volley should finish the job. PU mesmers should never last long enough for you to ever get to use your axe on them.

thats quite funny, i can keep up an effective 3.8k armour with mantra, while that is good i wouldnt recommend judging someone’s armour by the class type, but kill shot is a decent tactic as long as they dont use a counter build

PU mesmers are literally my easiest kills. They can’t do anything if you stand there and refuse to fight. They rely heavily on torment block on scepter, and clone deaths to do dmg.

1. Dont kill clones or youll get an AoE cripple+x3bleed/weakness/vuln.

2. When they raise their arm in a blocking stance, STOP attacking them. They’re not doing anything to you while their blocking and if you attack, thats where they get the x5 torment. If you do happen to attack, IMMEDIATELY dodge to avoid the stacks.

Mesmers of all types are also very slow, so if the fight ever starts going bad, just run away.

yeah i think youre right about the whining point, as i mentioned before i changed my wep sets to be a more visual melee in your face mesmer (the complete opposite to PU) and i still got OP complaints, i think the main issue is that its too complicated compared to warriors so they think that if they cant do it it must be some OP build

Why not changing PU instead of your weapon set? And see if you still get complaints? That’s a serious question. Because I never receive complaints with my shatter build. So I’m curious. Ty

i do drop PU but i use PU to fight in situations like 1v3-5 or 2/3-10 so i need active defences, PU just allows me to remove some active defenses, i was merely suggesting this as to not cause such a disturbance to somenes build to encourage them to test it,
inside an enemy zerg, the counter build is going to help you much more than a Greatsword, but this way the can test it without loosing there stealth,

Btw i drop PU and grab bountiful interruption and replace sword torch with with scepter/sword and run that with Sword/focus when fighting inside enemy zergs for point defense, youll do so much more to help than PU, however when small group i use PU as we’re more than likely going against larger amounts of foes,

Im the build crafter for my guild and one of my friends wanted something to play for warrior that could completely shut down a target, so ive come up with this so far, i wanted to get as much damge as i possibly could with extreme single target shutdown while staying extremely tanky

Would some of you guy able to rip it apart and give some suggestions?

although its phantasm, its similar to the old counter playstyle before they nerfed it by added torment to illusionary counter, the damage that it could do was insane but now its half that of riposte, so i wouldnt expect it to be the phantasm style youre used to playing, i would go as far as saying this is a counter/phantasm hybrid as he has more than likey got blade training in his traits
