Did I read the update wrong? You attack your allies? Because friendly fire was never a thing, it was my understanding that the affected player/creature would run toward the source of the taunt and start auto attacking them.

Sylvari would breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Many people forget that plants also respire, which requires O2. And any amount of energy done by movement from an organism requires respiration. Since sylvari are highly active, like us, they would need oxygen. but they also photosynthesize to some degree. in which case they would take in CO2, but I’d assume that would be drawn in through the stomata from the leaves on other places of their body to reserve the “lungs” for as much O2 as possible

I think it actually is a thief. An engi would not need nor have any use for throwing knives (unless they are good at throwing knives). Hopefully it is rifle and is based off of this. I love how he designed it.

Actually, I have several classes. I main a thief and don’t even have a warrior. Also, my mom doesn’t play the game.

I wish Anet luck….what they could say will either make or break them considering how everyone is getting their hopes HIGH up.

As a forward, this is in no way shaming the writers. They did an excellent job. This was just a matter of personal opinion, and that opinion being that I’d ironically prefer to be just another person in the LS that is helping the cause. I personally think stories where you play as some “rookie” who solves problems are more engaging than stories where you’re given the lead role which inadvertently gives you a major plot shield, in my case it’s my sylvari main being unaffected, even slightly, by the corruption going on.

Now to be fair we didn’t get to the next episode yet, I get that, and you cannot turn a mass amount of player’s characters evil, I understand and agree with that. But maybe even some slight dialogue changes such as your characters struggling to get some thoughts out if they are sylvari?

Back to the major point, my main is also a thief. I find it hard to believe a large group of individuals would just accept I am commander but it is what it is. I personally believe that I feel more comfortable when I’m not the lead role, which allows me to make an underdog story.

But as the preface said, Anet, keep doing what you’re doing. The writing is great. I just personally feel uneasy with so much on my shoulders.

Careful OP, the second cutscene was a trailer so until the next update, this knowledge is NOT well known. Doesn’t hurt to have suspicions though

I have been on a long hiatus, and I would have thought the Blinding Powder one would have been addressed by early on. Can’t tell if I am more excited for that or the dancing dagger buff.

In addition to what everyone else has said, if for some reason they do manage to go into stealth, start auto attacking behind you when you feel as though they are closing in. You’ll get facestabbed which hurts way less and those auto attacks you deal will add up.

If it’s within reason, I’d like this. It would give moves like deathblossom and vital more viability with powerbuilds…and clusterbomb would just get better

Yeah, I personally don’t bother with an engineer unless they are distracted or wounded since there is way too much going against you and way too much you need to be aware of to win that fight

They said to play as I want. I wanted to be a thief. I didn’t want to be a class that is drenched in monotony, in my opinion. I mean come on, adrenaline and the most uses of weapon types? Really? How is that fun if a professions unique points are just that? In my opinion of course.

It’s like the cutest thief. The duelist makes it look like she’s wearing oncey pajamas( minus the revealing part) and she has that little back pack and hat. Every time I watch panic’s vid’s I watch it usually just to see their thief :P

I mean it doesn’t matter much. I just want the skin. Besides, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that nodachis were too big to simply use in CQC and were swords that were used primarily on horse back as the blade was heavier than a standard katana so either way, whatever the blade is, we’re using/stowing it wrong…..unless gasp mounts confirmed

All blinks, like shadow steps (steal as well), Blink from mesmers, And even Spectral recall or necrotic transversal on necros to name a couple are insta cast blinks that have no animation. Because of this, they can be used whilst casting another spell or action without cancelling the former action. The most common application of this with this class if to start casting cloak and dagger and then stealing to the target for a long ranger CnD, infiltrators signet is an alternative or even shadow step for certain circumstances. The most satisfying, imo, is when you are about to finish another thief player, and as they teleport away before you finish your stomp, you steal over to them, or shadow step, or Inf. Signet without breaking the stomp casting, letting you get right back on top of them and finishing them off without ever cancelling your stomp. But yes, Heartseeker is no exception, you can blink while doing any action

My spare time does not consist of learning weapons from other cultures down to the key, regardless in my….our defense, I said “looks like a katana” as I was speaking from an in character POV, Japan doesn’t exist. But I’d prefer the in game name of Nodachi/Katana/ Heck even Canthan greatsword over iron Greatsword, which is what it is currently

I don’t think you understand. Look at how many people in this thread alone want this weapon. We can safely say that a ton more will love this thing. This gets released as free in-game, and you can bet it will be on the TP at a much higher price in gold than you would’ve had to convert for gems :/

Yes but I want it in the gemstore, ironically. I strongly feel as though if it were in-game and on the TP…it would cost more than if I bought it with gems.

Assming that both players are of equal level, the DD power will always beat a P/D player. P/D is a very slow weapon set and requires constant small bursts of damage and condition application – its quite a nuisance and unless the opponent stays around you wont be killing anyone.

D/D on the other hand relies on a quick and easy backstab auto heartseeker and usually just continously playing with the burst and you should drop the opponent fairly quickly.

i’d go for D/P though, much nicer then D/D

IMO, assuming they are of equal skill, a DD power will almost always lose to PD condition, DD requires you to put yourself at risk with backstab, PD doesn’t need to get in harms way to use its stealth attack. if foes get close Cloak and dagger or Shadow shot, it gives you the tools to do well with its philosophy.
EDIT: PD also has more survivability due to being able to only benefit from Dire gear

maybe anet should use head and fix some our skills like axe 5 which if stolen by thief they have full mobility why we are rooted to the ground which makes that skill completely useless as a lot other ranger skills

Hi all, I was thinking about investing soon to make some passive gold on the side while I play, and I discovered Gold Wars 2. Can someone verify if it indeed helps with flipping items for good benefit? Or do undercutters and the like make the site near obsolete?

Coming from a person who has little knowledge on GW 1, how would this have racial discrimination in LFG? Can this not be cleansed? If not easily I guess I can see why, but if so I doubt it’ll cause in game prejudice toward other classes.

^^^ engineers laugh at thieves so hard. Whether they be condition or even power, the amount of area control they put out can lock down most thief builds easy

Fun Fact: You can even jump dodge with a double tap evade, while a bit harder to do, you you do a regular double tap, but on the second tap is when you hit your jump button
