When is the feature patch come? And Season 2?

So, if i have 200points to spend in total, that will not be 200 point per character, but 200points for all character ?

I don’t know how many times we’ll have to explain this, but at this point who cares because we won’t have account bound WXP for months :

If you have in total enough WXP for 500 points, each of you character gets those points. So you can allocate 500 points/character.

This being a “feature only patch” perhaps you can see why people are feeling let down and bitter about not getting it…

Today’s patch wasn’t the feature patch. It was the end of the LS patch, nothing more.

If there was something big, Anet would have talked about it for months before releasing it.

And since they gave us a point reset for the season, we probably aren’t going to get account WXP for at least 8 weeks (till season ends) because they will probably follow their “No major update to WvW during season” (it’s not like we got major updates every month out of season…)

Theories of Sylvari and (based on speculation) Mord are actually very possible, seeing as how ANET stated that a revelation will be of unpopular theories above all.

If you are talking about what Colin said a few months back, he wasn’t talking about theories linking Sylvari and Mordremoth. He was talking about Scarlet’s goal, which was : invade Lion’s Arch to awaken the jungle dragon.

A lot of people got the “awaken the jungle dragon part”, some got “invade LA” few bothered to take them together.

Exactly. I believe the noble’s dress you have mentioned is on the picture below. I just figured out one thing. I don’t know if it’s just me or this game is full of lies? xD Well… Not the game itself, but the promos. Anise’s Coat was in the mesmer trailer. I mean, when someone doesn’t know the game and he/she will do some research on the internet, find the mesmer trailer and think “Oh, that’s beautiful. I am going to buy the game for this.” and then… You are forced to run around in a bra or a bag instead of the armor he/she saw on the mesmer trailer. :c The other “lie” I found quite silly is that on the Anniversary trailer there was a sylvari wearing human cultural (T2). xD

Welcome to GW2 where a lot of promo images didn’t make the cut. From armor, to environments (old LA, old Arah dungeon entrance) to monsters (Leviathan).

While I can understand environment designs changing overtime, I can’t understand how an armor gets completely cut from the game, especially Anise’s coat because it was in the mesmer preview video, the last preview video.

I dare say that most of the currently available armors would fit into “lingerie” category a lot more than this.

Let’s not exaggerate. There are only a handful of sets you could, maybe more if you were a nun who lived in convent for 70 years, consider to be lingerie.

Seeing something like this makes me sad. You aren’t supposed to become a “master” of ranged DPS…you are supposed to learn how to deal the best damage while overcoming the risks (so melee DPS except some rare exceptions).

You aren’t supposed to range forever because you can’t understand the boss’ attacks. You have to learn the patterns so you can move out/dodge at the correct time.

It reminds me of Golem Mark II where people sit on the boxes and throw rocks at the boss because they can’t comprehend something as simple as the lightning grid.

LA isn’t the only location sunk, so was Droknar’s Forge and the Battle Isles. In all reality, a single peninsula rising from the ocean floor wouldn’t cause that much of a rise in the ocean level, but we just have to take it as a little bit of “suspense of disbelief”

Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention, but Droknar’s Forge isn’t underwater because of Orr, but because of the Volcano that melted all the ice around.

And Season 2 will end in 11 weeks from now.

Because Season 2 will start in 2 weeks and we have only informations about transfers and tournament style, i dont think we will see Acocund bound WXP or different commander colours sooner than 10th June.

If that’s the case, I’d rather they have postponed that tournament.

I assume it didn’t make the cut because there was no corresponding male version made in time for launch.

I thought of that too.

But really, by now, who are we kidding ? They could have take the Elite Kurzick male and tweak it a little, like the female, but they didn’t.
Maybe they had to find something for Heavy and medium too, but if this was the case it would have been released on the shop by now. Anet has shown us they didn’t see a reason to release gem shop armor (Flamekissed, Zodiac).

Anyway, it’s amazing how the 2 light armor set I really wanted got cut…(this one and the dress. I loved the Orrian, but they completely ruined it in-game).

How Do You Ground Target/AOE Effectively?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: RedStar.4218

RedStar.4218

Yep I use right click to control camera. I think I generally stop moving the camera around to more accurately place the AoE. My pointer is generally ahead of me, or at least where I’ll need to use my skills should something happen.

So let’s say I see an enemy, I turn my camera to get him more in my field of vision, slightly move my pointer to be under him and use my skill.
Since my pointer generally isn’t too far from where I need to hit and by now I know the size of all my AoE skills, it’s really faster for me than both other options.

Maybe I’m not understanding it correctly.

In options you can choose how you want your ground targeting to be :
-the default option is :
1)You use your skill
2)The green circle appears
3)You move your mouse wherever you want
4)You click again to trigger your skill

-there’s an option where instead of having to click again, as soon as you let your click go the AoE triggers (probably what you saw in your video)

-the last option is to cast your skill instantly, without even seeing the green circle. In this case, the circle will be centered on where you mouse pointer is (if your pointer is on your skill bar, it will center the AoE on your character).

RedStar.4218

The game is freaking horizontal progression. If you want something cosmetic, you have two choices. Pay real cash, or grind your brains out for.. you guessed it, loot to sell or somehow process into gold.

Gold is the end game in Guild Wars 2. The rest of the content you burn through so fast that it gets old extremely quick.

Aside from :
-a legendary
-Immobulus
-Infinite Light
-Mjolnir

What exactly are you grinding your brains out for ?
Ascended ? You don’t need to buy anything on the TP. Not even cloth because if you play this game, you have quite enough laying around. I only play on week-ends, I get more than 50g + materials. It might not be a lot, but I don’t need any because my characters are outfitted how I’d like (well more or less because I only like a few weapon/armor skins which don’t necessarily fit together so I end up getting whatever and hoping Anet finally releases something I’d love).

And before someone says “duh legendary !” you’d be surprised at the number of players absolutely not interested in getting a legendary. Which leaves weapons requiring something that cannot really be farmed (silver doubloon/giant eyes), but that’s a completely different topic.

How exactly do you plan on determining a dead server ?

I would think the owners/administrators of this game would know this, after all it’s their game.

Still I’m quite interested in how one could determine without error that a server was dead. Let’s assume that you had a graph showing the evolution of players in WvW per minutes, over months. How would you determine, over 24 servers (for US), which one is the dead server where you can just move everyone in it ? Or to help you, which 3 servers are so dead you could just lock them in a dead tier together forever.

Usually hairstyles are removed for clipping issues. I can see how that hair could cause problems on heavy armor.

I don’t see how this hair could cause clipping issues when certain Norn or human hairstyles show the same potential problem.

Now whether those hairstyles actually clip in the game or not, I don’t know. None of my characters have them.

And with all the clipping issues in the game, I find the “it would clip” excuse to be a lie. (I don’t mind certain kind of clipping, especially with weapons or hair. Only type of clipping I mind is related to the body, such as the Medium Krytan armor that clips with Sylvari..)

In the time it would take you to set all of that in place, and the sacrifice of damage, monsters are incredibly more likely to hurt you even more if, instead of trying to heal in a game where healers do not exist, you focus on damage.

I’m not saying that using water combo field + blast finishers are useless. They are a nice bonus, but your build shouldn’t focus on that. Because by focusing on it, you are bringing less damage thus monsters stay alive longer and thus your party is at risk for a longer time.

Is it the corner bit that’s annoying it ? Would it be better if people would just pull the monsters out in the open (which is easily done) ?

Or it is the dpsing it down before it has the chance to hurt you ? Which, in a game lacking a healer, isn’t a dumb tactic.

If this was Nightfall, I’d say that the bad thing Caithe did was trigger something that started awakening the dragon. Kind of like what Kormir did.
But I really doubt that this is the case.

As for Scarlet being a good guy : Anet used to love having character kind of good, but also kind of bad. Unfortunately, it generally was a character that :
-was evil and pretending to be good (the Lich)
-was evil for us and good for others (Mursaat/Early White Mantle)
-maybe there was a character that started good, but became evil with time (can’t recall one at the time).

The only example I can think of a character that was bad and turned good was Morgahn. But he wasn’t bad : he was following someone he thought was good and when he realized his mistakes, he tried to make amends.

Scarlet won’t ever turn out to be a fully good guy. But I also hope that she isn’t just a crazy sylvari that surrendered to a dragon without a fight (or the intention of a fight). You could say that she tried fighting it in her mind, but that seems unlike her to just think “Oh I’ll just shoo it away through my mind and if that doesn’t work I’ll just bow to it as my master”.

fix for stacking in pve?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

RedStar.4218

Except for pushing a boss against a wall, which makes it bug (for quite a lot of enemies) , stacking (meaning everyone stands in the same spot) isn’t an exploit.

They could add special attacks to monsters to push players, or big AoEs which will require everyone to move.
But if you have a guardian or a mesmer in your team, stacking in a corner for trash/elite mobs, the necessity of stacking in a corner to pull foes simply means that your guardian/mesmer cannot (because they don’t have the required weapon, or because they are incapable of doing so) pull monsters correctly, which is actually faster than waiting for monsters to come. But the difference between knowing how to use your skill to pull (which is quite simple) and finding a corner to stack, is only a few measly seconds (unless your team isn’t too good).

For bosses, it’s a bit different. Not only because they have Unshakeable but also because you don’t have to stack to put a boss in a corner (and aside from bugging a boss, FGS is the only reason you want a boss in a corner/against a wall).

As a guild, we don’t necessarily stack. We just melee and our ranged user (a mesmer) is smart enough to come close to us for TW and boons. We also tend to make fun of people stacking EVERYWHERE FOR EVERY ENCOUNTER (then we cry a bit each and every time we have to get a PuG who has been raised by this method).

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

RedStar.4218

When the event is in yellow :
-it’s active.
-if it has an arrow, the number next to it tells you how long this stage has been active
-if it has a minus next to the number, it means that you need to trigger something to make it advance.

When the event is in red : it failed.

When the event is not highlighted :
-arrows are kind of tricky, they generally mean that other events can now be completed to trigger the main event
-numbers in orange mean that the event is launching later than what was planned
-numbers in yellow mean that the event doesn’t have a fixed timer but instead a window during which the event can begin.

I suggest you read on the wiki each event you are interested in to really understand what GW2stuff is telling you and which events require pre-events to be completed.

As for the circles :
-grey circle, event completely inactive or lack of information
-orange circle, event chain is active.

If you have any question about the website, or any events, feel free to ask. I’ve done them so many times, I know pretty much everything there is to know about each of those events and about the website.

I also laughed. It’s just the opposite.

The opposite ? How the hell can it be the opposite when there’s only the Masquerade armor and the Ascended sets that aren’t available in PvP ?

Actually, both statements are laughable because there’s only the Tribal set and a few medium armor pieces that aren’t avalaible in PvE, with some pieces of the Rubric set.

As for that set, unfortunately Anet seems incapable of doing a straight skirt and not something that makes my character look like it put on a few pounds…And the male version should have been lower, like in the concept art, instead of mid-belly.

And after that dragon there’s 4 others waiting. That is if they don’t introduce a seventh dragon.

So at this rate, we won’t have to worry about it for years (and by that time, GW2 will probably have been killed to make way for GW3…). Unless they decide to have one of the dragons kill the others, which I’d find to be kind of dumb.

Being gay is not the same as being sterile. Sorry if this seems all too obvious to state, this is a particular peeve of mine that gets thrown around too often to combat gay rights. If everyone were gay there would still be children. Gay couples have children now, they just do it through means that are different, such as having a surrogate mother.

I don’t want to spark a debate on this subject, but I’ll be just a little clearer on what I said : you still need a man and a woman to make a baby. Now you can say that some couples have kids then a while later one of them finds out they are more attracted to the same sex or whatever, or like you said through surrogate mothers.
In the end it was just a simple joke to say that it’s terribly obvious that straight relationships in GW2 are far from being rare.

Not saying that they need to pioneer gay relationships more, as they’ve done well enough for the moment, but I don’t see where the number of gay romantic characters outdo straight romantic characters.

From the top of my head:
Logan/Jennah
Seraph/Bandit (sitting outside a human fort somewhere, maybe Fort Salma in Kessex? Can’t remember atm)
Ysvelta/Tiachren
Eir/Braham’s Dad (separated)
Gairwen/Evart (deceased)
Norn woman & Potential mate at Talecrafting Steading in Dredgehaunt Cliffs.

vs.

Caithe/Faolain
Marjory/Kasmeer
Dagdar/Eladus

I’m sure there’s former/current/insinuated couples I’m missing in both straight couples and gay ones, but just from playing casually through the game I fail to see where homosexual romances outweigh straight ones. Straight relationships in-game are far from becoming rare.

Maybe the poster forgot to add “major relationships”. Because we can very easily say that with how many children are running around, straight relationships are far from becoming rare.
But I still fail to see the point of having developed Marjory/Kasmeer past being a sister-like relationship to being lovers. Aside from a kiss (which I consider fan-service) I don’t see what it provided to the story.
