nice ppl that will die in easiest path of easiest dungeon and blame others for it
i dont feel ‘so good’, but if someones running same path for 10th/100th time that person is doing it for shinies [gold/tokens]. why waste our time killing trash, if they dont give us shinies and we DONT HAVE TO kill them?

i understand you, but unless devs make it impossible to skip, 90% of lfg runs gonna be ‘80 speed’

Wait, what kind of nice person blames the rest of the team for his failure ?

But I have no problem with skipping stuff, as long as you do it how it was meant to (by running right into them and taking advantage of their leash) and not by exploiting. I do however have a very big problem against people that exploit some bosses by stacking in a corner so the boss’s main attacks won’t hit them due to bad programming.

Why ? It’s not even for “it takes the fun away” it’s because, yes fine maybe some players can do it without exploiting and they deem it is faster to exploit, but for a lot of them they can’t. Which is why people exploit : they die, so it’s faster to exploit. But if they keep doing it like that, do they get better at this game ?

I think the Marionette is the best answer : every time I see a platform wipe, someone say that Warden 1/2/3/4/5 is the hardest boss, someone who can’t think on their own yet they have titles like Dungeon Master or Sun Bringer or a bunch of legendaries, I realize that too many aspects of this game are too easy (and then it saddens me to remember that most of them are exploited so that even a cat behind a computer could do it).
Fortunately (or not) Anet is going to keep releasing harder content, unfortunately players are going to boycott it because they’ll find it too hard and unfair and that it only caters to zerkers and min/maxers (like Aetherblade), so they are going to keep being bad at this game because it’s more rewarding to exploit easy content.

You can get all the crap you need to make ascended gear in WvW. It’s just far quicker to get all the needed materials in PvE. So saying it forces you to do something is just silly.

I know it’s silly, that’s why I tried to make it clear that personally I don’t see a problem.

They can’t balance WvW like sPvP for the simple reason that you aren’t dealing with the same numbers 95% of the time.

And I doubt WvW players are bothered by dailies. You can complete your dailies from the comfort of WvW. The main complain from them is that Ascended equipments “forces” (because I don’t think it’s such a big deal) them to play in PvE.

The main complain for PvErs is that they hate WvW with a passion.

Cantha reveal/teaser trailer would be much better than the last 12 months of living story.

And then you get to play it and it’s much worse than the last 12 months of living story. Not only will they hype it, but they will also probably remove features at the last minute because they suddenly didn’t feel like it was ready and are going to release it at a later time.

Kind of like :
-guild halls
-bar brawl and archery (that were totally ready and would totally be there because “we don’t talk about things unless they are done”)
-personal instance being more customizable
-and let’s not forget account bound wxp and bugs that are as old as the game.

Rank 30 WvW Required for Gift of Battle Grind

RedStar.4218

But what’s about new players who do not enjoy this grind?

Yeah getting rank 30 in WvW is really going to hurt their legendary hunt. Poor new players who can easily get :
-200 skill point
-250 obsidian shards
-77 mystic clovers
-250 ectos
-250 of all T6 mats
-100 g
-400 in a crafting profession
-the precursor
-the mats needed for the gifts
-100% explorer

Yeah new players are going to have an easy time with that and a terrible grind with getting to rank 30 :/

A part of me hopes this is one of the first steps of adding new legendaries. Legendaries which you won’t be able to buy and aren’t just a matter of being rich.

But then again rank 30. That’s hardly a grind, which is good, but it’s also hardly a proof of anything aside from your capacity of zerging/using your laurels. But then again, very few things in this game are a show of skill and thinking and more a show of “how not dumb the players around you are ?”. So it’s a nice step.

There’s a whole list of cosmetic skins that I’ll never have since they require working at GW1 for hours, days, weeks, and probably months.

Difference is, if tomorrow you wake up and desire to get those skins no matter the time and effort you need, it can be done as fast as you are willing to play (and pay for the games).

If tomorrow I want to go after those boots (and soon, the rest of the set), I’d have to wake up every morning for more than a year and say “well time to do all the dailies”. Each day I don’t do them, is a day I add to the grind.
In a year from now there’s barely going to be 1000 players on NA who will have unlocked those boots.

Well if we got the Abaddon Fractal, we might have had a chance. But after hundreds a post, Anet understood that it seems that most of their playerbase have no desire to see them because they are a reference to an other game they couldn’t care for.

Why would 1 race get more content than other?

Well maybe because the humans have been on Tyria (continent, not world) for more time than the others ? (Except Charr). It would be pretty dumb to find a piece of Sylvari more than 25 years old. Or something related to the Norn in Orr.

But thinking like that is what has given us the current game : broad and shallow lore. Because “all races should get the spotlight”…

-Immobulus requires 250 of an item that can’t be farmed, has absurdly low drop rates and there isn’t even enough of on the TP to craft it from scratch currently.

Or

-The Juggernaut. A legendary weapon that requires 250 of something that can barely be farmed (might as well farm the gold and buy the item). And if you want to craft it from scratch (well at least the vial of quicksilver), you actually can.

So I think Immobulus is worse. But the problem with silver doubloon is also dumb.

The point was not “TOO MUCH SKIMPY ARMOR!” The point was “Man, the male version of that looks really nice. Wish I could have that look on my female character.”

Phalanx heavy, for example. Or the Duelist coat(exotic duelist/named). Or temple armor for light armor class.

As well as the fact some simply don’t even look like they are the same set. Phalanx again being a good example.

Hmm sorry I guess there are so many threads right now talking about armor designs that I mix their original points up. So my bad.

And yes I agree that some differences between sexes are so big they don’t even look like they are the same armor.

Game development decision.

But even in GW1 we didn’t access the underground from everywhere. Most entrances either collapsed or were accessed with Asura gates that are probably now in enemy territory and thus got destroyed (Jormag and Primordus).
But as you can see in game, destroyers are appearing in a few zones so maybe we’ll investigate that one day.

RedStar.4218

The problems lies in teenagers playing this game.
Look around. 50% of game population runs human female.

Why? Do humans have good racials?
Nope.
They play human females because of boobs, that’s why.
And that’s why most popular sets are those which reveal everything. People like boobs-revealing skimpy armors, they buy them.
So ANet provides it.

Anet provides them ?
It’s incredible how so many people focus on 4 armor sets and make it a generality by saying that this game has too many revealing armor. (Medium Human T3, Light Feathered, Champion and Conjurer).

You don’t like revealing armor ? You want your female character to be fully clothed, from the hands to the neck ?
Light :
-Devout
-Acolyte
-Priory (oh sorry, maybe that one is too revealing :/)
-Ascalonian (so well fitted)
-Nobleman (hmm sorry, the knees might be a bit too much)
-Flame Legion
-Dredge
-Orrian
-Rubric
-Seer
-All Ascended Armor
So out of 32 armor (excluding racial sets), 11 are fully clothed.

And take a look at the gem store armor, so much focus on breasts !
-Aetherblade Light
-Aetherblade Medium
-Trickester
-Primeval
-Viper

I chose light because light armor are supposed to be the skimpiest. Not going to bother to reinforce my point with medium and heavy.

Since people started QQ’ing on armor in GW1, Anet has done nothing but try to calm them by creating more conservative and less sexy designs. And once in a while, they are going to throw one utterly skimpy thing to hope to please everyone, too bad those armor are just skimpy and not well fitted or sexy. (I don’t want my character to look like a kitten, nor do I want her to look like a sack of potato).

A lot of armor in this game lose their potential due to how they are rendered in the game. Most of them should look light and flowing yet all of them look like they weigh a ton and are almost as rigid as steel.

Krytan, Primeval, and Profane are directly based off of (and pretty darn close to) GW1 armors of the same name. Profane might be the most different but Primeval is spot on and Krytan is VERY close.

I never understood why the chose Profane…It wasn’t a set really loved by anyone. Even 15k Profane would have been better.

He chose cultural armor as an example, but a lot of other armor could benefit from having tick-able parts.

Like if you tick off the tights in the magician armor , the lower coat in the seeker set . Or all those coat/skirts on themale light armor sets.

Ticking things on my be a bit more tricky to do because they’ll have to add new textures and we don’t want some terrible job like what they did for Orrian Heavy. But it’d be something nice : that way players who want skimpy can have them and players who want less revealing armor will also be happy.

As for punishing, well personally having to restart 90 minutes of fighting because of a mistake isn’t too annoying at first. But after the second time the first 90 minutes aren’t fun anymore and feel like a chore.
Kind of like the temple of Balthazar : it takes a while to set up, then you can easily fail the escort event (a fine example of how terrible those kind of things are in this game) forcing you to start the whole process over.

Request: Medium armor

Recognizing a class by its gear is something needed in pvp + wvw. Medium armor needs to differ from light and heavy at a glance.

Let’s just stop with this silly excuse. Unless you are knowledgeable on GW2 fashion, someone could easily dress up one armor class to look like another (and if you are on knowledgeable on armor skins, you don’t need “medium armor should always carry a trench coat”).
If you really wanted to recognize someone in WvW/sPvP you’d tweak your graphic settings to normalize armor in each class.

There are two things some players need to differentiate :

-Stacking because it allows your skills to hit all enemies/allies. Which is normal.

-Stacking at a certain place because there’s a bug/bad design that prevents some attacks from hitting you. That’s exploiting. And you don’t get good players with that. You get terrible idiots who act high and mighty and QQ at the first sign of difficulty in new content.

Skills not working

As it has already been mentioned, it’s caused by picking up any kind of object from the ground (banners, cannonballs in sPvP).

It has been happening for quite a few months now and I keep being unlucky and get it nearly every time I pick something up. And the weird thing with this bug is that it seems some players aren’t so unlucky because they have never heard of it.

Here’s what doesn’t fix this bug (or at least, not all the time) :
-switching your weapon
-removing your weapons
-going underwater
-using a WP in the same map
-using a spy kit

And what fixes it :
-falling from high enough to fall flat on the ground (doesn’t have to kill you)
-getting dazed
-getting downed

But you can still use your shouts (happens a lot on my guardian…).

-where are the missing armors that should have been available to the player ?
-why are some skins exclusive to PvE or PvP ?

and we have yet to hear anything about any of those.
