Fort Salma had an huge amount of krait shards, which are highly magical artifacts. And the Concordia attack began with vines attacking the caravan carrying the locket, another powerful magical artifact.
From the Eternal Alchemy scene, one could gather that the Pale Tree sits on top of a important ley line hub.
I still think (and hope) that all those attacks were because, just like Zhaitan and the other dragons, Mordremoth wants to feed on magic and is thus directing his attacks on highly magical points.
Else, the dragons are going from “magic feeding balls of destruction” to “evil mastermind with a personality” and if that’s they road Anet wants to take, what’s next ? Negotiations with an ED ?
It might be annoying to do it every time, but there’s a command to sheathe/unsheathe your weapons without using any skills.

Don’t you remember when Anet add a WvW rank requirement in order to buy a gift to craft a legendary ? So much complaints and so much “I can’t play how I want”.
Every single time people want something but they don’t what do the content, they are going to open a thread complaining that Anet lied when they say “play how you want”.
There should be other methods of acquiring things such as this for those who don’t care to go into these areas, but, that’s what this game does is try to FORCE you into areas of the game you don’t like. So much for playing your way.

5 pristine relic. That’s not 250 T6 mats. It’s 5 kittening pristine relic that you can get by doing fractals level 1 5 days in a row, without needing any sort of AR or ascended item. And at such a low level (1 !) fractals aren’t too different from dungeons.
If you want a certain reward, you’re going to have to play a certain aspect of the game to get it. Unless you actually love it when anet put stuff on the gemstore. That way you don’t have to play the game at all.
I’m gonna be the odd man out here. Maybe it’s because I’ve yet to play a Sylvari, but all I could think is, “Why is this tree half dead because of one dragon attack?” And, “If it’s that easy to take her down, why didn’t Mordy do it a long time ago? Or a thousand other baddies? Does she have some kind of cloaking shield that hides the Grove?”
Don’t over-think it. Really. Anything that has to do with the Living story, simply don’t over-think it, because you aren’t going to find any satisfying answer.
Those threads are getting as common as the mount thread.
Anet hasn’t said a word about this set since the moment players realized that it was only available in PvP. Not even a tiny allusion.

They managed to screw up with the Avatar, too. In an interview it was said the Avatar’s just an ethereal projection through which non-sylvari can communicate with her… now she’s suddenly sap and bark that breathes. Duh…
I think she’s still just a manifestation. Her gasping and getting hurt represents the tree itself getting damaged. I believe at some point its mentioned that the Mordrem attacked the trees roots from below, probably doing severe damage, not to mention the dragon flying around through the canopy. And while we may not generally associate trees with getting injured, considering its a magical tree with a “sentient” avatar I think damage to the tree causing it to act injured is reasonable.
I think Thalador is talking about the Menders tending to the Avatar. If the avatar is fake, there’s nothing to tend for.
And if you continue with the fake avatar : if the Tree was that badly hurt it wouldn’t even have the strength to summon an avatar.
Maybe you got too used to other MMOs. If you don’t have a lot of experience, it’s rather simple because you don’t think “in this other game it used to work like this, so it’s probably the case in this one”.
I would tell you to play a necro and use minions, but even as the class I love the most, you’re going to regret how useless you are in dungeon. Either play a warrior (which I find really boring) or a thief.
Or a guardian, but I didn’t really enjoy leveling my guardian.
You beat me to making a thread about it. I still can’t believe they haven’t given us these armor pieces. Now they do a story mission that’s full of NPC’s wearing them, in our faces.
But it’s cool, they’re still recycling content from GW1 for the gem store.
Unfortunately they aren’t doing the armors. Then again they are probably going to release the least popular sets (Tormentor…) or the terribly ugly FoW armors.

If you didn’t skip any dialogue the Pale Tree tells you that it’s the same dragon from your dream and Trahearne tells you that this actually is your wyld hunt.
I mean otherwise the whole Wild Hunt thing wouldn’t make sense for Sylvari PCs as they are either being lied to or the supposed dream interpreters were wrong.

When the creditors took all of the Meade family’s possessions, they allowed Kasmeer to take a single item from the house: she took a stuffed bear she had since she was young that was a gift from her father, and she had her mother’s staff with her already.
Oh but the story is about you ! You know everything and everyone. Even the Pact Commander comes to you, you the person who has been away for 2 years chasing after Scarlet, to learn informations on an ED.
You’re the main character. You already got the part that covered how you got to where we are (the PS). Now you just run around, get told what to do and everyone simply listens to you.
And then you tell your “friends” all about it. And sometimes one of your friend tells you something then you repeat it to the NPC right next to him like you were the one who came up with the idea.
A lot of the writing is sub-par in a lot of places. The art and gameplay are fantastic or beyond, the writing… is stuff I’d expect from Newgrounds – hit or miss stuff, from terribly horrendous to pretty darn good but not expertly awesome.
The main plot is getting more and more annoying with each update, and some things simply do not make any sense (god, it’s starting to feel like Bleach all over again and Mordremoth is going to be the new Aizen…).
Another thing I found annoying was Trahearne telling us that is here to learn from us. Are you kidding me ? He’s the leader of the Pact, he stayed with them for 2 whole years. Sure he was busy with Orr and organizing an attack on Kralk, but don’t tell me he didn’t came across important information on Mordremoth…
I mean our PC got his name and we barely stayed with them after Zhaitan’s defeat.
To say something positive : Taimi’s scence was nicely done (when she’s attacked and when we save her) and I liked Anise’s dialogues.
Simply amazing how we aren’t even hearing it on their own website. Makes you wonder what’s the point of it.

But yeah, I thought the exact same thing.
It proves once again that we can’t trust anything in this game and that the Pale Tree is a lying kitten who rather hides stuff and have people die than telling us from day 1 that our wyld hunt was for Mordremoth and not Zhaitan.
And was I (because am I = kitten >.>) the only one thinking it’s weird to heal an avatar ? Wouldn’t it be more important to tend to the tree itself who then would be able to recreate an avatar (one who doesn’t lie and hides as much hopefully).

Her attitude regarding Canach, how she doesn’t care about his past but instead is disappointed by his failures, reminds me somewhat of Livia’s personality.
They can’t even figure out how to properly fit many armor pieces on male Sylvari – like shoulder pieces and coats.
Sylvari are nothing compared to Charr. The worse being huge bulky Charr.
They better not have nerfed it…
I just completed it for the first time with my thief. And if that fight wasn’t nerfed I can’t understand any of the complaints.
The mender spawns far away and walks (not even run) to the statue, the kb tell is enormous, the fear circles while lasting a long time, aren’t hard to avoid.
And the statue has 3 hitboxes.
Remember when anet made T3 human cultural flame armor in gemstore accesable for everyone?
The major things were that it was the only cultural set to be released to everyone and that it actually cost less than buying it from the vendor.
It would make it imposable to tell what class is what when your fighting your asking for a way to hid what you can take as a player (your def). Its like asking for all wepon skins to be usable so i could be on an ele with a hammer and full heavy armor when in truth i am full glass staff ele i just look like something you realty do not want to get close to.
If you play with lowest settings (or at least regarding players), you can easily differentiate everyone.
And your weapon example is terrible. Plus right now, you don’t have any trouble distinguishing an ele from a mesmer from a necro do you ?

If Mordremoth wanted to kill a leader, why didn’t he do so already ?
His vines now reach Iron Marches. That’s way pass The Groove, Rata Sum, DR, Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel.
Is he waiting for a reunion to backtrack and make his move when we could have taken them all by surprise before ?
I really preferred back when the EDS were massive balls of destruction that didn’t give a kitten about anything aside from eating.
Regarding Temporal Curtain, the height of the “wall” is extremely low. That’s why a lot of projectiles aren’t being reflected : they just fly over it.
I have that issue. I’m pretty sure that it’s your computer because non of my guildies have that issue and they have terrible connections but good computers.
Although sometime, not having any skill effect clogging my screen really is relaxing. Aside from the times I don’t know when to dodge because I’m not seeing the enemies animations.
It’s not your internet connection but your computer. My guildies have terrible connections but extremely good computers. And I have the opposite.
It takes me a minute or more to load anything, it barely takes them 10 seconds.
So.many.people. have said this to him. I actually believe it more after reading through this thread and how he is jumping through hoops to try and disprove what others are saying. I’d say half this thread is of him finding 2 words in someone paragraph and saying “This isn’t true, so nothing in the rest of what you said is true”, or “They didn’t mean this, so you can’t take it as a fact”.
And yet, he created this thread asking a red tag to comment “I’m listening” on suggestions, complaints, etc.
Either he has a double personality problem, or like a lot of people around here, he’s “addicted” to the forums.
The cities are terribly unsatisfying. They are big, they are beautiful, but they are incredibly shallow.
Karma vendors are terrible.
And crafting, especially the discovery and recipe part, isn’t too great. Aside from cooking and jewelcrafting, you only learn a few recipes to craft other armor skins. And they didn’t even create recipes for all the karma armor, only the first 2 sets.
Armor skins are also unsatisfying. I’m given a ton of choice, yet I can barely pick one thing I like. Which feels weird where in GW1 I had the opposite problem with 15ks.
The only thing that’s really going to kill GW2, just like GW1, is when Anet announces out of the blue that they are giving up on their game because they can’t do what they want and instead are going to create a (whole) new one.
It would also be interesting to see a PRE-QUEL of GW1 – say during the Guild Wars. That WOULD be interesting.
After GW2 you still think Anet sees the story as something they think is extremely important and needs to be correctly done ?
The tengus killed me when I tried to escape from LA. They can get cooked by Primordus for all I care.
On a more serious note, I don’t think Anet is going to go through all the trouble to release the tengu as a playable race when you see what a fail player-wise the Charr has been. Then again, when you look at all the clipping issues plaguing Charrs, I’m not sure they went through a lot of trouble anyway.
So why they gave us “Game discussion” and “Suggestions”?
I said “we give them feadback and ideas” not “we create our own game and we need ANet only for technical things” (it’s “our” game because we’re part of this game; Earth is “our” too).TBH, without feedback about LS1 GW2 would be already dead. I discussed LS1 with my guildmates and we agreed that if next LS2 going to be crap again – we’re quitting.
We’re still here and I think we weren’t alone.
“Suggestions” is there so people with suggestions have a place to put them without clogging the other subforums and “game discussion” is here for people to have a place to rant.
Anet reads feedbacks, and I do hope that they realize when something really is terrible (LS1). But aside from that, they have their own objectives and priorities, and people creating hundreds of threads about something (like mounts, or armor art issues) won’t change anything.
GW2 makes it too easy for terrible builds to complete anything. No matter how bad you are you cannot fail and if your teammates aren’t too terrible, they can carry you through anything.
I’ve seen far worse communities. However, the general player level in GW2, as show by the Marionette event, is terribly low.
Probably just a lack of creativity in that department. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut when in design mode. Still a bit odd no one noticed it and said something before launch…

Just like Female light armor can’t get a simple pair of pants (not tights) without a skirt attached to it.
We complained for 2 years, I think they got the message. They just don’t give a kitten.
I am all for ways of customizing characters more. Sadly it isn’t like Anet could undo the changes that were made with the Wardrobe system. I miss the days before the change. But I can stay that about Mega Servers too..
Why can’t they undo it ? “Town clothes” no longer exist. They could just put every town clothes as a skin just like the zenith weapons or the heritage armor and that’s it.
Like it has already been said, some outfits clip with themselves.
Where are the people who wanted to wear Town Clothes into combat? Why aren’t they complaining? Are they seriously happy with ANet’s answer to their wishes?
There has been thread complaining about this issue ever since this change was announced. After 3 months, people just moved on because we know that they aren’t going to change it anytime soon.
It’s not because they slow down the release that we’ll get any of the things you’re asking.
In 2 years we got :
-A revamp of AC
-Aetherblade and Molten that got later turned into a fractal
-TA aetherblade path
-Thaumanova fractal
-2 new zones
(You can include the Crown Pavillon, the Zephyrite zone and Halloween stuff but does aren’t permanent content)
Unless they release an expansion, we aren’t getting any of those things any faster than one every 4 month or so.
An expansion, sure. Calling LS1 one is a huge lie.
They could release a sort of modified LS1 on the gemstore if people want to replay through that, but don’t call it an expansion.
And if you look at LS1, it was nothing but a huge farm.

Also, look at the picture of the eternal alchemy. You have all thought there was something about the order in which the spheres glow, but have you thought about the disposition of those spheres?
Left: Primordus, Mordremoth and Bubbles
Right: Kralkatorrik, Zhaitan and JormagAll of those on the left, with the exception of Bubbles (lack of info), create and generate their minions, and infact they embody different aspects of life (the initial spark of life, the vegetation that grows, the underwater life).
On the opposite, all the dragons on the right corrupt already existing living beings (Sons of Svanir and various kodans, Orrians and various fallen or dead characters, Branded).
Maybe it’s nit-picky but as far as we know, the Shatterer isn’t a baby dragon than Kralk corrupted. It’s something it created. And Primordus can corrupt living things, but doesn’t do it as often as Zhaitan (but since that wasn’t shown in the game it might have been written out).
You can create every combination you wish because we barely really know anything. That’s why I can’t wait for this whole Mordremoth kitten to be done with. And since the living story is a big checklist, maybe in 2 or 3 episodes we’ll be settled.
If you start in NF you’re going to have to grind sunspear rank points and that’s a pain.
So like Astral said, start in cantha and once you make it to the main land go to NF to get your heroes.
