Apparently GW2 is the MMO of choice for poor people. Unless you are only working a minimum wage job and supporting a family on that, then I don’t see why this would inspire so many people to quit.
You must be a delight at parties.
You don’t even need it. You don’t get a reward or achievement for giving it to the skritt. She just spins around and calls herself a Storm Wizard until she falls over.
If GW2 ever goes subscription, I’ll be quitting. I just can’t justify a subscription fee, no matter how much I enjoy the game.
Yes, maize balm lets you throw it onto an ambient or group of ambients in order to turn them into bite sized candy corns, which you can kill for one Trick or Treat bag per mob. And since the mobs have the same HP as the ambients, they die in one hit or with a quick aoe.
Her accent isn’t just because she’s young, it changes several times throughout the entire sequence, and within an instance. One comment it is a British accent, next moment she’s Americanized. I noticed it the first time through.
This. That’s what I meant by inconsistent accent. It’s not a case of “Oh, well she’s so much younger!”. It’s a case of sloppy voice acting. And yeah, it’s not a major issue, but it’s still disappointing.
Yes, it was obviously a different actress. Regardless, it bothers me that the actress didn’t even really try to 1) match the previous actress’ voice and 2) maintain a consistent accent.
No problem. I figured that out after I had the same minor freakout after using mine earlier. :p
The boot requisition order only makes it so you CAN buy the boots. It doesn’t give you a free set.
You need five people. For the low fractals, it doesn’t matter who is in your party. It takes 5 pristine relics to make a Mists Stone, not 15; you get one pristine relic per fractal set completed. So, all you have to do is run a set of fractals (each set has four maps) every day for five days, and you’re done. I’d just stick to scale 9 or less, since you’re new to them. Even scale 1 will give you a pristine relic as long as you finish the fourth map.
Look up Fractals guides to see the details for each map.

I’m not completely sure if this is a bug or not, but I think it is. If you lose all health during the new LS chapters, when you’re transformed into Caithe, you die. There is no downed state; you just die.
Shoulders are Dark Templar
Boots are Scallywag
Legs are CM
Chest is Armageddon
I’m not quite sure what the gauntlets are.
Aren’t the very first insignias already discovered? Have you tried looking in the Production tab to see if you can just make them there?
1. GW1 didn’t have elves. They only had humans for playable characters. The game got along just fine without anything else. GW2 gets along fine with its version of elves (Sylvari). A game doesn’t have to have the exact same stereotypical races in order to be a good game.
2. I’ve never seen GW2 as a medieval fantasy game. That may have been YOUR assumption going into it, but it certainly wasn’t mine. Giant mushrooms and fairies are NOT major parts of RPGs or MMOs to me. Realistic? I’m sorry, but come on. There are Skritt, centaurs, talking frogs (who do all sorts of magic), dragons, minions of dragons, etc. Then there’s the fact that one of the playable races are GROWN FROM A TREE. Another one of the races are cat/cow things. Yet another are tiny potatoes with bat ears who make robots with magic. Then there are elementalists, necromancers, guardians (with their spirit weapons and healing spells), mesmers, etc. Yeah, that’s all way realistic. :p
Maybe I’m the weird one here, but I don’t need my game to look like a Lisa Frank painting in order for me to think it’s a fantasy game.
It’s free to play. Why not try yourself and find out if you want to keep playing?
I suppose the elitist attitude can be found in all aspects of GW2 now, even the musically inclined. How very sad.
If wanting people to actually play the instrument (or game) instead of using a pre-programmed macro to do it for them makes me an elitist, I shall don that title proudly.
Yeah, it has to be on opening. Back when the Queensdale champ train ran, I’d take my lowbie alts in there to level up a bit. I’d save my champ bags to open on my 80s, though. And I’d get the typical gear I would any other time I’d open on my 80s. So, yup, on open.
It’s against the rules to name people here on the forums, so you’d need to delete his name from this. Report him in-game for exploiting. You could also take screenshots and submit a CS ticket.
Make sure you have a sword equipped when look in your wardrobe otherwise it won’t show up.
That’s not completely true. If you’re looking at your Bank Wardrobe, it shows all skins no matter what. However, if you’re just looking at your Hero Panel’s Wardrobe, then yes, you have to have the item equipped to see possible skins.
Yes. Gem store skin sets only give you one free application. Any other time you want to use a piece, you’ll have to use a charge. Outfits are free to put on or take off, though.
Spoiler alert blah blah
We already went inside of Glint’s Lair in Hidden Arcana.
And Glint was killed by Kralkatorrik. He corpse was used by the Zephyrites to create the Aspect crystals. As for her eggs, that’s also currently being told in the LS.
I see. Thanks.
I have a question about Heritage Armor. Is it worth buying Eye of the North for? I have GW1 and a lvl10 character but I don’t know how easy it is to get all the skins, but it looks really cool.Well, it’s worth it if you want more skins and AP. If you don’t want the skins or don’t care about AP, it’s not worth it.
My husband and I both got Eye of the North a few months ago just to do the HoM stuff, really. It didn’t take us very long to beat it, and we’re both about 15-20 points into the HoM now (I have a few more points since I have Factions and Nightfall, whereas he just has Prophecies and EoTN).
How long does it take? Are there better skins to get that I can apply infinitely?
Look at the link randulf shared above and type your name into the field. It’ll show you all the rewards (click on one of the icons under Reward Meter to bring up a picture of the skin, mini, or pet you’d get for each point). As for how long it took, with the two of us playing a couple of hours every night, I think it took three weeksish? Maybe less?
It says I’ve earned 3/50
Heritage Great coat, Jerkin and Warplateand 3 weeks? O.o
As I said, that was us playing just a little bit of time at night. And not every day. Plus, I also said I wasn’t sure exactly how long it took. :p Plus, it’s an expansion. It’s not like it’s some very short DLC.
And yes, you get three points for linking your accounts.
Are there better skins I can buy?
Look for yourself in-game. Go look at the wardrobe.
I have full sets on 10 chars, and salvage o matics on 12. I could choose which I could keep and I’d probably keep 1 from each set, and still have 18 or so redundant… , and 11 salvage kits. It’s about 22k gems…
I doubt they would refund me 2500 gold, or 3500 if you used the other conversion ?
Buy me something pretty, plz Mr. Monopoly Man.
Yeah, stun/daze won’t ever last that long unless you’re getting slammed by several mobs over and over. Cripple and immobilize definitively can, though.
And yeah, many of the Mordrem mobs have tougher attacks.
I see. Thanks.

I have GW1 and a lvl10 character but I don’t know how easy it is to get all the skins, but it looks really cool. You will need to level up your character enough to start EOTN (level 20 iirc). Then it’s fairly small effort to get the requisite points.
https://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=welcome
That link will make sense when you unlock Hall of Monuments in EOTN (its near the start of the story)
You can go in with level 10. You and any heroes/henchmen are scaled up, basically. You also level faster because you get more exp.
I see. Thanks.

The problem is I fill out my inventory at least 40 times a day or something thats alot of basic kits I have to buy and store in that same inventory… its a pain in the kitten ..
Maybe get bigger bags/more bag slots and head to a vendor more often.
Once you buy it and consume it, it’s there to use whenever. So you can use the tag whenever you want, or not use it whenever you want.
I’ve never seen them in drug stores where I live. The only places I constantly see them are Walmart, Target, and Gamestop (and any similar shops).
It’s account bound now, yes.
Even though I personally don’t care for those who use the macros with the instruments, I just move out of range of hearing them. I do the same with the players who have no sense of rhythm and musicality.
So, just move out of range, and be done with it.
Did you ever equip the skin to one of your characters? If not, it won’t be in your wardrobe.
Every time you die, a piece of armor gets damaged. You have six armor pieces and a back piece (if equipped) that have to each get damaged before a piece breaks. So, assuming you have all seven items equipped, if you die seven times and don’t repair your armor, a piece of your armor will “break” on your next death; this means that the piece that broke will no longer give you any stat benefits. This happens regardless of your class or race.
Just to clarify, it’s only the tailors who (for some reason) don’t have the runes. Armorsmiths and Leatherworking masters still have them.
It’s intentional. It’s irritating, but it’s intentional.
it doesn’t require any effort. Just luck.
Exactly that. A couple of my guildies got lucky and got into an instance where two popped during one run, and then the other two popped during the next run. The day after the content went in, I got lucky and zoned into maps just as a boss I needed was up. But then it took me four or five days of waiting to get the last boss I needed (and I only got it because a guildie was in an instance where it popped up and let me know).
No skill or real effort is needed; just luck.
They’re using that upgrade (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poly-luminescent_Undulating_Refractor_%28Orange%29 ) that makes them glow orange; it’s not a dye. As for the armor, it’s nearly impossible to tell, other than the helm which is TA heavy. Shoulders MIGHT be TA, but I’m not 100% sure.

Murdered an Elite dredge inside SE p1. He gave me The Lover. Yay for dead dredge!
All you Moot haters are missing out. I sold my Dreamer precursor to fund the rest of my Moot. Go discoball, go!

Closest thing I know of is this. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Explorer#Commonly_missed_areas
Have you gone into your achievements to see how many areas of each region you’re missing? That’d probably be a good way to start. And then pick one region to work on at a time.
Of which, Cave Johnson would be the prophet?
Praise be to Cave.

Try that out.
Yup, the fractal tonic (specifically the Imbued Shaman).
Maybe it’s the music snob in me, but I respect a player who doesn’t use a macro and instead does the key presses himself, in the correct time, way more than someone who uses a macro.
But anyway, I know there are at least a couple of guilds that are dedicated to doing things like this. I often see one of them posting over in the GW2 reddit.
Yes, it’s intended. You can get around it by putting the same sigil in your underwater weapon.
Apparently she left the grail lamp on and needs to be spanked.
Oh, that wicked, bad, naughty Zoot. I mean, Mira.
I still want to know why Deputy Mira is standing on my bed in the Inn/bar.
She wants you.
But I want to sleep! Alone!
