Go to Ireko Tradecamp waypoint. Swim northeast to where the heart NPC (the hylek who turns you into a pig) is. Once you’re at the heart NPC at the mouth of the cave, look inside the cave and to your left. There should be a water area where you can swim down and through a tunnel to the POI.
Winter’s weapons are returning at a cost of 2 tickets per. I’d look for the Pact Fleet weapons to go up at that time.
The Wintersday weapons are already in the game for 2 tickets a piece. So, I think the pact weapons will stay 1 ticket until at least the next LS patch.
And as someone else said, OP, they usually announce about a week or so before they change the ticket costs.
What krall said. You can’t open most containers in PvP. So, if you’re in the PvP lobby, leave, and then try to open it.
Well, human players are given the “title” of Hero of Shaemoor after the opening instance. We don’t get to display that, either. Norn don’t get to display “Slayer of Issormir”, either. Players are also the Commander of the Pact; don’t display that, either.
I’m 95% certain we won’t be fighting Mordremoth with the Jan 13th patch. We’ll probably get a step closer to it in that chapter, and then the next season will contain the actual fight with him.
The green and black ones were probably the Toxic mantle, which is a gem store item.
I’d like to ditto those who suggested that more care and planning be put into the schedule for next year. There were so many extended breaks this year, and now we have a major cliffhanger being left until after the new year. It just feels like the release schedule for the past year wasn’t planned very well. Maybe next year take more care with the spacing between LS entries and avoid leaving the final chapter to release after Wintersday (even if it means LS updates happen once a month instead of bi-monthly)?
More than anything else, I’d love it if you all would please be more communicative with the players. It’s nice to hear from devs with the upcoming release info and employees who try to respond on the forums. But those details and responses (with the exception of Gaile, who really works hard to interact with us as much as possible) are pretty spaced out, often leaving us wondering what’s going on for quite some time.

No, because this is GW2, not FFXI or FFXIV.
Yeah, they had a similar thing in GW1 Factions. You’d have mini-quests where you’d be given specific types of skills to do specific things (slowing down a running enemy, using blinds, staying alive for a certain amount of time, etc.). They were good ways to introduce newer players into different types of attacks and defenses.
I try to not complain too much about GW2 because I really do enjoy the game. But I’m so tired of these long breaks between LS releases, especially when they happen so close together. I used to log in and do stuff every day. Since last week’s release, however, I’ve maybe logged on three times because I’ve just lost my motivation to play. And now that I know the most recent LS cliffhanger won’t be resolved for more than a month (and will probably end in another cliffhanger), I just . . . bleh. I’ll probably log on to do some Wintersday stuff because I do enjoy that (and my son loves watching the Wintersday JP), but I can’t imagine I’ll be doing that much of it.
It’s starting to be like how I feel about TV shows; just as the story starts to get good, they go on a month (or longer) mid-season break, and I lose interest.
Yeah, the chest at the top is an event chest, not the JP chest. If you pay attention carefully, you’ll notice that the credit for the JP there is given before you reach the top. It’s given before you make the last series of jumps from the coral platforms to the tree that leads up to the top.
So, for some reason or another, this JP just doesn’t have a reward chest.
No, there won’t ever be mounts. Bai.
Am I not speaking English or something?
No your writing in English.
If you take something as minor as someone telling you you to kill yourself to heart ( which you should prolly being calling the hotline rather than here), then you would have been destroyed by my friend when I showed him this thread LOL was brutal but hilarious. Feel free to share how you feel about what he said.
*You’re, probably
And yes, we get it. You think using hostile and rough talk is fine. However, you don’t speak for every person, and some people don’t care for that kind of talk.
If you want to be a grammar commander you should know that you don’t start a sentence with and. ;-P
Well for starters Anet isn’t here to babysit you every time that you get your feelings hurt. They already have enough on their plate with spammers and speed hackers, that are still around, last thing they need to worry about is petty items when there are already multiple tools in place.
Dont want some pming you – block them
If you block someone, you will no longer see any messages they send through the following ways:
/say chat
/map chat
/whisper
/guild chat
/party chat
/team chat
/squad chat
In-game mailDont want to read map/team/say/emote chat – uncheck the box – interesting fact In all the time that Ive played I rarely had map/say chat checked, turns out you can still play the game SHOCKER :O
As I’ve already stated before verbal abuse is a grey area because of how people react. For example you’ve prolly referred to a random player as a pug thinking nothing of it, however there are players who find that as offensive name calling- guess what your guilty of verbal abuse. The trolls will have a field day instigating you to make snappy remarks to report verbal abuse if they were to do penalties on minor things like this.
The problem is that people feel very brave sitting behind their keyboards because of the disconnect to humanity it allows (and thus a disconnect to morals and empathy).
You have that backwards, You feel disconnected from humanity because you’ve lived a sheltered life behind your keyboard never actually experienced the unforgiving hostile environment outside. Your more than welcome to believe this would be different if in real life but the reality of it is that it wouldn’t be any different. Time to “man up” ( ha that one wasn’t in the list).
Beginning a sentence with a conjunction is perfectly acceptable. Feel free to look it up in various style guides if you so wish. Regardless, you nitpicked the OP for using “speaking” instead of “writing”. It seemed only fair to continue the nitpicking.
As I already said in this thread, I think the best course of action is to report, block, and move on. Generally, I have no issues with what I see being said in chat, and I’ve rarely had to block anyone, let alone hide an entire part of the chat. I also don’t think that Anet needs to babysit the chat so much as the OP seems to want.
However, I also think that people should at least try to behave like mature adults and not say things just to get a rise out of people. To use the earlier example given here, telling someone “kill yourself” even in a joking manner isn’t cute. It’s not witty. It’s simply being done because the person saying it has nothing better to do than troll other people. The lack of self-control and compassion is what bothers me, but I would not want any company to try to heavily police communication methods.
As for your statement that this wouldn’t be any different in real life, I strongly doubt that. Of course people can be and are total jerks in real life, too. However, a vast majority of the crap that is talked online is done so because people feel like they’re safe from any actual consequences. Sure, there are obviously a few people with no concept of self-preservation or decency who would go up to someone and say “You’re a ******. Kill yourself.” But the vast majority of people would only do such things from the safety of the internet, anonymous letters, or phone calls (hiding behind throwaway phone numbers).
I don’t think there’d be any harm in putting this in, but there’s also no point in putting it in. It won’t change how people behave, and some people would probably use their blocked number as a badge of honor. :p

You have to use your skill points to unlock skills to put in those slots. Since you just got your third slot, I’m assuming you’re level 19. That means you can do the skill point challenges in the maps, which give you one skill point a piece. You’ll also get 8 skill points when you reach level 20.
You can’t get those bags anymore. They don’t exist. You can get blade shards by killing aetherblades in the game. You can find aetherblades in EoTM, Fractals (Mai Trin boss fractal and the Aetherblade fractal), the Aetherpath of TA, and the Aetherblade JP (Not So Secret). You also get some shards from the chest in the Aetherblade JP. You can also make more blade shards in the forge (the wiki has the recipe). Lastly, if you have the watchwork sprocket node in your home instance, you have a chance of getting one or two blade shards when you mine it.
Money isn’t a problem, and I would honestly think less of Anet (or any major company) if they made a Kickstarter to raise funds.
Like garambola said, check your bank wardrobe. All skins in the game are listed there.
Also, <3 to garambola for using “staves”.
I’d love it if all the trolls who hide behind their computer screens would stop being jerks for funsies; I’ll never understand how being cruel or mean is a fun activity. But, just like in all other parts of life, some people are just always going to be jerks, and we can’t change that. The best thing you can do is report them for abuse, block them, and move on with your life.

I think mesmer is a good choice. And while you may have a lower health pool, I find it’s easier to avoid taking tons of damage (you have distortion, as well as your illusions/clones/whatnot to help you out).
Surprised Guardian hasn’t been mentioned yet. It fills the criteria very well. Guardians can be incredibly tanky and supply plenty of blocks and blinds, but also can deal awesome damage.
People would argue that you don’t have much speed buff, when actual fact it’s entirely possible to maintain 33% movement increase most to all of the time. Use staff skill number 3 and stand in the aoe for the duration of it and/or use “Retreat!” and “Save Yourselves!”. They decreased the CD on “Retreat!” from 60 seconds to 45 seconds on the last balance, I believe. You also have a leap on GS 3 which covers some decent range provided you don’t have an enemy targetted.
Yes, arguably you have to somewhat change your build for the best movement increases, but this seems to be the case with most builds anyway (except for Ranger and Warrior GS movement/leap skills).
Well, the reason I didn’t suggest guardian is because he asked for a “good ranged weapon”. I wouldn’t call guardian scepter a good ranged weapon. Outside of that, I would recommend a guardian. But if he’s wanting ranged, I wouldn’t.
In my opinion, when it comes to obsidian shards, save your karma for those. Don’t waste laurels; laurels can be saved up to get you ascended accessories, t6 mats, or even dyes. Karma is regained so quickly that, as long as you’re playing, you’ll never really run out of it. So you could do whatever you want with it (unlock karma skins, convert it to linen/cotton via the forge, obi shards, etc.).
Now, if you are a constant Fractals runner and have a never-ending supply of relics, then I’d say spend those on obi shards because, after a while, you’re going to run out of a need for more AR and accessories.
Mystic forge stones aren’t currency. Those are used only as an item substitution (ie. put in three rare level 80 axes and add a mystic forge stone to act as a substitute for a fourth rare) or for making mystic salvage kits in the forge.
Mystic coins are also not currency. Those are used in the forge for making specific weapons, trays/feasts of food, boxes/satchels of armor, and mystic clovers.
I’ve used badges of honor to unlock skins. There’s an armor vendor in wvw who lets you spend badges to unlock various skins, and so I’ve done that quite a bit. If you actively participate in wvw, though, you could always spend those on siege blueprints or traps. You could also use those with laurels to buy ascended accessories and whatnot.
If you’re in a guild that does guild missions, you get commendations for those. You can get ascended accessories there (I got most of my trinkets from guild commendations), as well as guild banners and such. Since I don’t need any of that anymore, I save them up until I get enough to buy a sentinel’s intricate gossamer insignia to sell on the TP.
I’d say ranger or warrior. Ranger is probably a bit easier to handle well in wvw than warrior. However, rangers (as well as necros and, to an extent, engineers) tend to get arbitrarily passed over for high level fractals groups. So, keep that in mind.
I also enjoyed the stealth. And, as someone else said, you could easily leave stealth if you wanted to. My only complaint was the fact that it could bug.
For now, I just shrug it off and go about my dailies. What else can you do?
Lets just say it that way, people are getting kicked out by other people, DDoS is common in MOBAs and it’s more noticeable, in MMO ppl think there is simple network or server problem.. but hell no.. even here we have it and Anet should secure things better..
There is no particular reason to be kicked out of the game on the way Arena net does.
You said you were on TS. Did anyone else on TS say they were also disconnected? If this were actually some DDOS conspiracy, surely there would have been some commotion from fellow players about how they also were kicked.
As much as it sucks, it’s either your ISP or a problem between your ISP and Anet’s servers. In this case, it’s not an issue of another source causing it.
Momentum. Gotta have it. Taking a bit of a running start lets your fingers/brain prepare for the jump. Plus, a speed boost will often help if you just can’t quite make a certain jump.
I think splitting the tags between wvw and pve is a good idea. But don’t change the gold price; keep it at 300g, plus however many thousands of badges and whatever rank.
That being said, I don’t see it happening since there are already so many tags in the game bought using just one system. I can’t imagine any way of changing the tags would go well.
Yes, you should take advantage of switching weapons, especially as a warrior. If I’m doing solo stuff, I tend to run into combat with mace 5 to knockdown. Then switch to GS for GS 3 to get closer and then GS 2. Then I switch back to axe/mace for the axe 2 and auto-attack. The axe auto-attack is your best steady DPS if you let it go through its full chain (way better than GS auto attack). If the mob is still alive, once my weapon swap is off cooldown, I’ll switch back to GS for another hundred blades and repeat.
If a mob starts to run away, you can cripple it (GS 4 and axe 3 both cripple) or use mace 5 to do a knockdown.
End-game is what you want it to be. This game doesn’t have raids or a gear treadmill. So, end game can be collecting skins, making legendaries, ranking up every class in pvp, becoming a good commander in wvw, soloing dungeons, high level fractal runs, working on crafting ascended gear (all armor and weapons), etc.
As for crafting, you don’t really miss out on too much by putting it off. It can be handy for leveling (you get 7 exp levels for each discipline you level from 1-400). However, with the exception of cooking (very cheap) and jewelry (pretty cheap), crafting isn’t cheap if you don’t have mats stored up. If you do decide to craft, follow the guides at gw2crafts.net. They have guides for each crafting discipline, including guides for ascended crafting, and the materials lists are given with the current going price on the Trading Post.
Yeah, that’s not a bug. I can sympathize since I had a similar problem (had some human T3 pieces that ended up being destroyed before the Wardrobe system), but there really isn’t anything they can do about it. If you don’t have the skin anymore, it can’t unlock.
This would make zerk even better than it already is.
This.
But zerkers lack health and defence so if they were to get hit with immense damage, they would be downed quickly. Unless you mean in a group event type situation in which case the scaling should serve to give the foes more health/armour anyway.
Dodging, CC, blinds, etc. A player who actually knows how to survive with zerker gear wouldn’t die any faster with those types of mobs.
The only ones available on the TP are the benthic (Tequatl) ones. The only other ones are karma ones (the highest level of those being the Gaveborn ones).
Nope. Nope, nope.
I’m not noticing any difference with mine. Same output as usual.
While I would love to see dervish (and/or ritualist) brought into GW2, it won’t happen. <3 my dervish.
There was a series of quests back in GW1 (for Eye of the North) where you could train with brass knuckles and do a couple of quests using them. The brass knuckles gave you new “weapon” skills for punches and such. It was kind of neat, but I don’t think it’s something I’d want to do often.
It might have taken me two hours, but I finished it the day it came out (without any sort of guide). I loved it, and so I also have to pass along my kudos to those who helped design this.
A mesmer helping you is a nice person who’s ok with you having no interest in beating the challenge he just did.
You teleporting to a random is like someone using cheats in games to skip the hardest part. And instead of creating this either useless or overpowered crap, ANet could’ve used the resources to improve some other systems.
So, you have no idea how the item even works, I see. You can’t teleport to a random person. They have to be in a party with you. Sounds like you’re just complaining to complain.
And all the people who have used mesmer portals to finish JPs, get to difficult-to-reach locations, take a shortcut?
The mesmer is the one who opens the portal, he is helping others.
The one using the teleportation consumable isn’t helping others, he is just helping himself. Furthermore, Portals are limited by range and by playercount. I assume there will be no range limitation for the consumable.
The person taking the portal is just helping himself, as well. The consumable is limited by player count (one player can teleport to one friend). Plus, the consumables are a one-time-use item, unlike the portals which can be cast every minute or whatever. I see no difference between someone asking for and taking a mesmer portal and using the teleport consumable. Both are just fine; if they want to be lazy, then they can go right ahead.
And all the people who have used mesmer portals to finish JPs, get to difficult-to-reach locations, take a shortcut?
Yes, on a third (and fourth and fifth, thanks Stealth Achievement) listen, it’s the same actress. But yeah, terrible lack of consistency when it comes to the accent.
One could almost fill a BINGO card with this post.
Just FYI: You can buy the beer for the second collection off the TP for a few copper.
I’ve never seen them spawn with the same hit points as ambients. Never.
They aren’t overly tough, but they don’t go down in one hit like a crow or frog.
I’ve seen them do exactly that. Many times.
You’re welcome!
I thought they did a sequal bit called Guild Wars beyond. It bridges the gap between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2.
This might be what you are looking for.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_BeyondIt was meant to be an ’’expansion’’ and it was cancelled.
No, Utopia was the cancelled expansion. Beyond was created as the bridge between GW1 and GW2

I find it extremely hard to believe that someone attracts those kinds of reactions consistently without doing things (repeatedly) to bring it out in people.
Go to Options (F11). On that first panel there will be two sliders under Camera: Rotation Speed and Position. Adjusting the rotation speed will make the camera rotate faster or slower, depending on which way you adjust it.
Yeah, I don’t see why a Skip option can’t be added for when you Replay the episode. Have it not available for when you’re playing through the first time (even for every character), but then have it in for when a character is Replaying the story.
