In the case of necro, if you trait for might in DS (one stack of might per DS1 attack), as well as trait for a DS build in general (for the slower drain of lifeforce), you can stack up that way, and then use Blood is Power (10 stacks of might).
Salvage kits have never stacked.
As for your map completion problems, it’s most likely you already finished those maps before leaving the game. New points of interest and waypoints have been added to various maps since launch, and DR and Lornar’s Pass are two maps that received some of those. So, you can’t get the completion rewards twice.
Edit: I confused the skill point scrolls with the experience scrolls. In the case of the experience scrolls you mention, yes, there is a weird bug that doesn’t allow the first year’s birthday gifts of experience scrolls to stack with the second year’s.

Honestly, I wouldn’t judge a class based on a youtube video or two. Give the class a try before deciding if you wouldn’t like it. Necromancer is a really fun class, with melee and range capabilities, and you have a high health pool (two of them, actually, since you have Death Shroud).
Ele and engi are the two hardest classes to master, in my opinion. Both rely on a lot of combo fields and finishers to be their most effective, as well as lots of toying with the utility skills to see what works best for you. However, you shouldn’t let the learning curve stop you from trying them out.
The image you posted (the “old” skin) looks like a slightly altered version of the Godskull Impaler (spear). I believe you when you say the skin was changed, but I can’t imagine that a harpoon gun that wasn’t a gun at all (and almost shared the same skin as the same set’s spear) was intended. The old version was probably the bugged version.
You can’t make the lowest level underwater weapons anymore, so that means you won’t be able to discover the very first trident, spear, or speargun/harpoon gun available. I think they did that because of the NPE and how underwater combat isn’t introduced until level 8 or whatever.
Is it possible that someone with ArenaNet red banner has confirmed it? Because being able to make one half of low level tridents and not being able to make other is… strange.
Dunno if anyone has confirmed it, but I personally tested this crafting recently (after a similar post about someone who was unable to make a low level spear). And you definitely cannot craft the lowest level tridents, harpoon guns, and spears anymore.
I have 1 silver doubloon but it’s not worth much in my server. 1G 79S
The price on the TP is region-wide, not server-based. And 1g79s is a lot for an upgrade item in this game.

As soon as glorious PvP armor is available in PvE then sure.
That.
Wow this game is really FUN! Just bought it and spent 2 hours standing on the bridge. this game should be called “Guild of the Bridge” waste of time. Already sent in a ticket for a refund.
This is maybe the second time since launch I’ve seen it bug like this. So, don’t judge the game based on a very, very rare bug. You could make a different race if you really want to play right now; those starting instances are different from the human one.
I’d make sure you bug report it in-game. And take some screenshots to add to this post so devs can see what’s up.
Did you try relogging to reset the instance? If that doesn’t do it, then yeah. You might just be stuck. :\
Have you tried going to LA or DR and asking in map chat if any guilds are recruiting?
Yup, been playing since beta, and I’m still not quite sure how it works. It seems kind of random, and agro from bosses will often jump from person to person. I will say, though, that certain bosses seem to go for elementalists and just wail on them. The golem in CoE is an example of that.
The rewards are just based on your level. The only “special” drop that comes from a JP chest is the blade shard(s) that drop from the Aetherblade JP in Gendarran Fields. The rewards, depending on which chest is at the end of each JP, are usually 1-2 pieces of armor or weapons, empyreal shards, a crafting mat, and an upgrade (seals and such). The armor/weapon drop you get will be based on your current level. Also, every time you do a JP for the first time, you get an achievement.
Just as an FYI, if you have a level 20-25ish character, you have a good chance of getting silver doubloons from JP chests. Silver doubloons are pretty highly coveted and can make you some nice gold on the TP. So, consider doing JPs on those characters.

I did the achievements just fine yesterday/last night. The bombs all went off fine for me all three times I did it. You just have to be very, very careful with your timing. Watch the patrols carefully so you (or the overeager NPCs), especially on ones in tight spaces like bomb #3, won’t accidentally agro them. Once you’re sure the patrol near bomb #3 is away, move in behind the bomb with your back to the wall, so that the NPCs will kind of follow you. Set the bomb, and then wait for the dogs to get close.
Yeah, you choose from a list of stats for those. However, keep in mind that they’re level 78 and, thus, won’t have quite the same stats as a level 80 exotic backpack. And any upgrade put in it will have to be lower than level 80, as well.
Wrong. They are actually better than exotic level 80 backpacks WITH upgrade.
A regular level 80 exotic backpack has the following stats with max upgrade:
+22 Power
+16 Prec
+16 Fero+25 Power
+15 Prec
+15 Fero
I stand corrected, then.
Yeah, you choose from a list of stats for those. However, keep in mind that they’re level 78 and, thus, won’t have quite the same stats as a level 80 exotic backpack. And any upgrade put in it will have to be lower than level 80, as well.
I never, ever do Fractals. I rarely have the time. Obviously, I have very, very little AR (just a +5 in one of my trinkets). So when I decided to make Mawdrey, I just watched the LFG whenever I was on. If I saw a fractal under level 10 that said “on third” fractal or later, I’d grab the slot. I got three of them done that way. The other two, I just hopped into a LFG post doing “level 1 daily”. So, I was in and out of my five runs within about 45 minutes (usually less).
So, it’s really not that bad of a requirement, and I can see why they do it. I mean, every single other component is done either by doing open world PVE things. I don’t really have a problem with making fractals or a dungeon a requirement. At least they didn’t make you need more than 5 pristine relics.

There are even traits that improve pets when you’re downed!
That.
I’m not sure how this is a bug. If the player starts the pet attack before being downed, then the pet will do it, as long as it’s not interrupted; the player going down doesn’t and shouldn’t stop it.
It can be pretty annoying during tightly-stacked group fights.
DR is a very real thing that occurs in any farming situation in the game. Spend more than a certain amount of time anywhere doing the same thing over and over, and you’ll hit DR. The labyrinth seems to have you hit that DR wall a bit more quickly than other places in the game.
Check the materiel storage tab in your bank , scroll to the bottom and see if they are there.
That.
The Incendio Templum event in Diessa Plateau can be a pain to get when it’s being held by the Ash Legion. Very, very, very few mobs spawn when it’s held by the good guys, so you basically have to wait for the Flame Legion to try to retake it to finish the heart.
You might have seen your character only inside your keep (or in another “safe” place), but since you were lagging, odds are you had either run out of it to be killed or fallen to your death.
I very recently added the Platinum Edition (base game + Eye of the North) to my existing Trilogy game. It added it just fine for me; it just gives you a warning telling you that your existing expansions will not be replaced by the new one. So, it should work just fine for you.
If for some reason that doesn’t work, you can make a new account and contact support and ask them to change the new account’s log-in email to the one currently linked.
Necro, for sure. You have multiple wells that do damage/cause conditions. You also have axe 3 which is an aoe, scepter which has an aoe, dagger offhand aoe, warhorn aoe (#5 skill), and all of the staff marks. Plus, you have Death Shroud 4 which is a huge aoe.
If you never bound Sunrise to your account, then you technically never “owned” it. So, that’s why it says you have two instead of three.
Thanks for the answer mate
and I kinda wanted to play a thief too but I doubt that any team will need 2 thieves in one party :p i think i need to choose between guard and mesmer cause 2 assassins will work in roaming too I think :/ but guard is also useful in every game mode.
A mesmer can certainly be useful. Again, reflects. Also, their portal and timewarp are pretty valuable assets to pve. The main drawback, though, is their lack of speed; they have one speedboost, and it has a bit of a cooldown between uses.
If I had to pick between the two, I’d go with guardian, personally. But either one could be great.
I’ve never had trouble getting into dungeon groups on my necro, but I don’t usually try to do Fractals at all. If you want to do high level fractals, then yeah, necro might not be a good choice. Otherwise, I think you’d get by just fine.
Guardian is the second most simple class, after warrior. You do have very, very useful group things (including a great reflect), and you can do decent damage if you trait for damage. Engi can also do great damage, but it’s obviously a different type of playing and a bit harder to get down just because of all the combos and kits you rely on; but it just takes some experimenting to find what works for you.
When it comes to pve, damage is the way to go rather than worrying about defense, honestly. If you’re both just going to be leveling and playing around in pve, it really doesn’t matter if you have two thieves or any specific combination. Play what you think would be fun.
Nein, thank you.
My guardian is PvE and generally only used for world bosses and dungeons. Her weapons are GS and sword/focus just because that’s what I like best and gives me decent damage. If I need range, I do GS and scepter/focus. And if I’m running TA, I bring a staff to take out the deadly blossoms in there. Otherwise, I never touch staff, except for big world events where I’m tagging mobs. I haven’t touched mace since the tutorial instance because it’s just useless, to me (in PvE).
As others have already said, there are no “tanks” in this game, really.
How is it so unobtainable when you can just buy it if you are just purely unlucky or unskilled enough to do the requirement?
Difficulty in content is NOT a bad thing.
I didn’t say they were unobtainable . . .
But finishing the obsidian sanctum JP for a Minor Trait (the first one in a trait line, too) is a bit out-there.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
Unlock objectives are frequently in the wrong level range or are attached to ridiculous objectives (such as the Overgrown Grub or Obsidian Sanctum).
Oh, I definitely agree with that part. Some of the traits are tied to odd and out-of-reach zones/events.
Edit: And I also agree that the fact that the change came so long after launch was jarring and strange. But I also think that people just don’t handle sudden changes that well and like to complain. So, yeah. :\
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
Are you even playing the same game? The trait change was one of the worst ideas I’ve ever seen in an MMO.
I should hope so.
Tell me, do you buy or try to obtain every single trait? Even if you do not use them?
Because that is the only time I could possibly even understand why you would need to complain.I LIKE the trait system for reasons already mentioned.
I have a LOT of characters and it’s very expensive to gear up alts then unlock all their traits too. The trait change (amongst others) was a kick in the teeth to all those who prefer to have many alts rather than one or two main characters.
Of course, people like you probably can’t see this, because you think everything Anet does is amazing. They should add a /worship emote for you.
I have 12 different characters, all level 80 and all with their needed traits. About six of them were made after the trait system change, so I’ve experienced both systems and had no problems with either one. Getting the traits isn’t hard or even that expensive at all.
I honestly like the trait system change. It’s much more like GW1’s skill system, where you also either did particular quests to unlock the skills or bought them for skill points and gold. So, you pick out traits you want, and then find how to unlock them.
My only complaint for how it is in GW2 is the fact that certain events bug a lot, which can be a major pain for players trying to get traits they need.
Sometimes when I rocket-boot off ledges (big or small) it classes it as a heavy fall (sometimes taking damage) and my character gets stuck in what looks like a frozen ‘face-plant’ animation. You can literally move/jump around stuck in that position and it’s awkward as heck.. only way to get out of it as I recall is using/doing something that will break you out of the position?
That happens to all classes with certain big fall situations. All you have to do to fix it is dodge.

I have not one jot of Chinese ancestry, but I’m really starting to get fed up with the continual complaints about how ArenaNet is “pandering to China” in some way or form. Racism is an ugly word, but some of the complaints I’ve been seeing have an unpleasant tinge of “how dare those masses of grubby, money-obsessed Chinese muck about with our game!” Sure, some Chinese game companies have a well-deserved bad reputation for trying to get money out of their customers in any way possible, but I don’t like the way that this is spilling over to the general Chinese player-base, a lot of whom I daresay don’t like that sort of thing any better than Westerners do. So (speaking generally to ***everyone***) cut out the continual China-bashing here and everywhere else. It’s ugly and unbecoming.
Amen.
Bai! I’ll take your stuff if you don’t want it.
The Precursors are dropping from the ToT Champion Bags that you get from the three bosses in The Labirynth. The regular ToT bags drop no equipment and, therefore, no Precursors. They do, no doubt, have a chance for valuable rare drops though. I was commanding a group two nights ago in which someone looted The Legend after killing the Wizard.
What about this guy?
He got a precursor from a ToT bag. And lots of other people have got one too. Did Anet overlook something?
No, he did not get it from a ToT bag; weapons and armor do not drop from ToT bags. He either got it from one of the special champion bags that drop from the legendary bosses in the labyrinth or as a random drop from a mob. Or he just pulled it from his bank and dropped it into his inventory.
Do you work for Anet?
If not, how do you know what does/doesn’t drop? Just because something hasn’t dropped for you from a bag, it doesn’t mean it won’t drop for others.
Of course I don’t work for anet. But I’ve opened around 1000 bags this Halloween so far, and I’ve not received a single armor or weapon drop, of any rarity, from them. Plus, the wiki for Trick or Treat bags does not list any armor or weapons as possible drops.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Large_Candy_Bag That is the only Halloween-themed bag that can and does drop weapons/armor when opened.
I craft to level sometimes. I also am an achievement point fiend, and so I got them all to 400 (and then to 500 after that was added) for the APs. Plus, having the ability to make ascended mats and gear if I need it is very good.
Why not just play when you can and enjoy yourself? Do a couple of dungeon paths while you’re on, and save the gold. Do your dailies when you’re around, and then buy Heavy Crafting bags to get t6 mats to sell. It’ll take time, but you’ll eventually have the gold to get it.

As well as what others said, the trick or treat bags that drop during Halloween have the exotic, rare, and masterwork essences of luck. I’ve gone up about four % (up to 134% now) since last Tuesday just from consuming the luck I’ve gotten during farming ToT bags in the labyrinth (only about 20 minutes every day).
Finally, I found a reddit thread in which several people received a precursor from the ToT bags. Whether or not this is possible, I don’t know.
It’s not possible.
There is a log of anything being put in or taken out of the guild bank on said bank’s UI. Check the log.
There is also at least one in LA.
Are you leaving before the instance is fully completed?
