Not sure what to tell you. I’ve done this event since the last patch and did not encounter this behavior. There were plenty of centaurs, but it did not look like your screenies. A bug with event scaling? Many (non-participating) players in w/ever area event scaling takes into account?
The screens OP shared are close to what I’ve seen anytime I’ve been there for that event, regardless of whether a zerg-sized group was there or just three or four players.
Yeah. The “Above” note is why I mentioned scorpion wire and spectral grasp, since those pull the player down to you. Obviously such a thing won’t work for NPCs, though.
There’s just no point for such a thing in GW2, at least with how loot is distributed currently.
You could maybe take a screenshot of the name (click on the player repping said guild, so that the guild name and initials are shown) and submit it to support. But I do agree that an in-game report option for things like that would be more convenient.
Make new characters, level them (getting karma and gold in the process), and then you can start to gear up your level 80 again. Once you at least have some greens on it, start running easy and fast dungeons (AC, SE, and CoF, for example) to save up tokens for cheap exotics.
Edit: If you have karma saved up, you can go buy gear with that. Exotic gear at the Orr temples is about 42k a piece, but there are other karma vendors in higher level areas that sell masterwork gear.
Molten lodestones and cores drop from CoF. Destroyer lodestones and cores drop from SE. You could run those paths every day. Champ bags also drop cores/lodestones. They can also drop from Heavy Loot Bags, Heavy and Large Miner’s Bags, and the Orrian Jewelry Boxes.
They’re also fairly cheap as far as lodestones go. Plus, you could upgrade any cores you have into the lodestones.
Not including the ones already mentioned:
Thief and necro have pulls (scorpion wire and spectral grasp, respectively). Guardian sword 2 has a teleport, as well. And thief sword 2 (I think) also teleports. And warrior has a few (GS 5, GS 3 [in certain situations], sword 2, etc.).
The event is almost perpetually bugged on the “main” instance of that map. Your only chance of getting it are to get on a new version of the map (created when the “main” one is filled) or park yourself in that zone right when a new patch goes in, in hopes you catch it before it bugs out again.
I PUG dungeons often. I have a Followers list filled with people whom I don’t know and have never talked to outside of the one time we did a dungeon, Tequatl, Wurm, or something like that together. But I rarely, if ever, get whispers from those people. The times I have gotten whispers I respond if I want to, and I ignore if I want to. That’s the end of it.
Ignore the people you don’t want to talk to. Block the people who don’t take the hint.
As an aside, if your block list gets to the point where it’s full, then something is off.
It could work for any class with lots of condition options. Necromancer, ranger, engineer, or thief would all be good options. And since ascended gear is all account bound now (even after wearing it), you could share the piece between characters.
Nope. /15 characters
If he hasn’t chosen a server, he doesn’t have to pay anything to pick one. And if he does pick one and just plays a character for a little bit before catching JQ while they’re open, he can just delete that character and switch servers for free.
But do like I suggested and keep an eye on the server list at non-peak playing times (such as overnight or very early morning).
Yes, of course he can pick for free, he’s been waiting three months for it to be open. But, can the character be any level and if he deletes it he can move for free?
Yup. As long as he’s willing to delete the character, it could be a level 80 and still work.
I never saw anything about them being removed (or acknowledged at all by Anet). But I may have just missed it.
Which Eye of Zhaitan? If you mean the “world boss” one in Straits of Devastation, I’m not sure how often it’s up; probably a few times a day. The Eye of Zhaitan in Malchor’s Leap (next to the Dwayna temple) is up every half hour or so, I think, and stays up until it’s killed.

Are you checking at all times of the day? No server is completely full 24/7. Try checking during the night/early morning (US time) sometime.
Edit: If your friend hasn’t made any substantial leveling with any characters yet, he can transfer for free.
Things that helped me get pretty good at JPs:
Do them on a small character or use a transformation tonic (ghost tonic, cat tonic, sinister automatonic [turns you into an asura]) so that you won’t have the issue of the camera quite as much.
Zoom the camera out as far as possible. This might not be everyone’s preference, but I can judge distance a whole lot better this way.
If you have a 25% speed signet on your character, have it on. That helps if you somehow suddenly get put in combat during a job because it won’t make you lose quite as much momentum.
Be very careful with the 33% speed boosts when making little jumps.
Either turn off “double tap to dodge” or train your brain to not have twitchy fingers to make you accidentally dodge.
Biggest thing that helped me for a lot of timed JPs: Use the right mouse button to change the camera angle. For some reason I just used the movement keys on my keyboard to turn the camera angle, and it slowed me down so much. As soon as I made myself just hold down the right mouse button and just use the Forward/Back keys and spacebar, it improved my jumping by leaps and bounds (ha ha, get it?).
My big brother passed away suddenly in August. He also had a retriever, named Rosie (Chris’s furry friend very much reminds me of her). Sadly, she passed away about two years before he did. He adopted her from a local rescue group back home. The two of them were just the best of friends, and it broke his heart when she died. But after a few months he rescued another awesome furry friend (a part pit/part retriever named Jenna). He took such great care of her, and she helped him cope with so much (especially the loss of Rosie). She’s now being looked after by our parents.
Sorry for the ramble. The post just got me thinking of my brother. But I just wanted to say I’m sure your doggie lived a wonderful life with such a loving family, and you’ll always have those beautiful memories to look back on. <3
Yup, I agree, but that 1% is what I mainly use my condi necro for over the past 8-9-months: dealing with the champ husks at the Tripple-Trouble Wurm event.
So, my scepter/dagger get a good workout at least once per day …:p
Yup! Same for me.
Hm. Your story was set up to be the main Personal Story line, and you were to the “Kill Zhaitan” step? And you didn’t leave the dungeon before the full reward was given? If so, maybe you should put in a support ticket.
There’s been a toy you can fly on in game since the witch costume was first put in. The carpet is just a different-in-look version of it; it functions the same way.
I like axe/focus for my primary set. As for my secondary, it depends on the situation. If I’m just doing world boss events, I’ll put on staff for the 1200 range and marks. If I’m in a dungeon, it’ll likely be dagger/dagger or dagger/warhorn. I never use scepter in pve because conditions are sadly not that good for 99% of pve. My primary damage source, though, is Death Shroud.
If I’m in wvw, I’ll likely be using staff and scepter/warhorn (and switch to condition armor).
Did you ever post this over in tech support, since this probably isn’t a game bug? And have you submitted a ticket with support to see if they could help?
Did you do the follow up instance at Fort Trinity? The story isn’t over until you do that.
Yeah, as was said, this isn’t a bug. It’s how the dyes look on different types of material in each armor piece. For example: Abyss looks the blackest of blacks on heavy (metal) armor, but it looks like a very washed out black/grey on light (cloth) armor.
And there are light armors with metal pieces, heavy armors with cloth pieces, medium armors with metal pieces, etc. It’s annoying, for sure, but it’s not a bug.
there is a new feature that might help. In options look at “Content Guide”. Select “Hide Events and Personal Story” and the compass at top will direct you to areas for map completion.
I have tried that but because I am doing story mode it keeps saying ‘recalibrating direction’ to the next position in story – regardless of which map I am on. I will give it another go when I finish the story.
I have already tried going into the ‘Sanctum of Secrets’ but it did not help. This has to be an instance bug since on the main (character) page it says 100% complete but on the map it tells me 99%. However, I still have not tried all of the home instances. Anyone know how many there are in Divinity’s Reach besides Queens Room?
Thanks,
D_R
If you look at your world map, fully zoomed out, you can hover your mouse cursor over the name of each zone and see if you have 100% completion in each zone. If you hover over one and don’t see the gold star and “100%”, then that’s where you need to go.
As for DR, there are a few instances inside there with POIs. The home instance there has three or four of them. The home instances in each of the other cultural cities have POIs in them, as well.
The skeleton mini (the one that glows green at night) is pretty darn huge, too. It’s about half the size of my very tall human necro.
I just have to wonder why people keep useless things in bulk? You know you’re not going to use it (or at least not anytime soon). You know how easy it is to get more of it. Why not just delete it once you get a new stack in your inventory from farming?
Still bugged….pretty frustrating
I just interacted with him, and he worked just fine.
Idk. Like the OP, I bought several pieces on the ‘“wrong” char and it didn’t advanced the counter. Perhaps it was bugged.
Could be. But the most common issue ends up being that the person just bought 12 pieces from the same tier, which would obviously only unlock six pieces for the achievement. Either way, the description for that achievement needs to be redone so that it keeps people from wasting gold.
I’ve had this happen once or twice since the TP change, as well; luckily it’s a rare thing for me. Yesterday I had a rare, level 80 staff I was going to sell on the TP. I sold something else first, then clicked on the staff, and immediately pressed “sell now”. A moment later I went “Wait, did that just say 3 silver?”. I go to check my transaction history, and yup. The price somehow was set to 3 silver as the highest buyer price, instead of the actual highest buyer price (around 50s). I was pretty annoyed.
If I understand the requirements correctly, you have to buy on chars that can wear the armor. If you buy it on a char that can’t, it doesn’t count.
I didn’t have that issue when I was doing the human one. I bought most of it on the characters who could wear it, but the last four or five pieces on my warrior (and it included medium pieces, not heavy).
expect to see every single female character using the super sexy Raiment of the Lich ;-3
I hope not. The boots are ridiculous.
Agreed. I honestly don’t mind the hooves. But the fact that they’re stiletto heels really bugs me.
Can’t banner NPC’s anymore.
Yeah, you can. You just can’t do it in wubwub.
Basically, to get this done, you have to zone into the map once the “main” instance of it is filled enough to create a new version. If you can find a new version of the map, you’ll be able to do the event. If not, you’ll be SOL.
No, there’s no level requirement. Only specific merchants sell the gathering tools, along with the salvage kits. They’ll usually have a stack of coins above their heads. Copper tools are the ones you’ll need for your level.
Did you ever take the first one out of your Material Storage tab of your bank? The minis are all the way at the bottom.
ever thought about the part where language has nothing to do with how something is called in a game?
also, SPELLING NASI ALERT
Yet they use “foci” as the plural for focus.
Be consistent Anet!
It’s still bugged.
Put a Bloodlust sigil in your underwater weapon.
The Air-Filtration Device is not an aquabreather or a helm; it’s a helm skin. Make sure it’s the same armor weight as you (light), and double click on the skin in your inventory (if you still have it).
I got mine now they were on a character I rarely use and at the bottom of my inventory xD but if the frst set of tickets came through mail I think the other ones should of sent through mail instead of talking to battle historian to get them :c
They weren’t sent through the mail. Both times a mail was sent to let you know you qualified for that week’s rewards; you had to pick up from the Historian both times.
Edit: Unless you meant last season’s came through the mail.
And separatist mobs rarely show up outside of that event (which doesn’t even give you any credit towards the heart).
Yeah, this heart isn’t working properly anymore. Before you would get a prompt as you walked into the pit, asking which difficulty level you wanted (Easy: Drakes, Medium: Sepratists, Hard: Minotaurs). Now, the gates are constantly open, and no prompt occurs when you walk through them.
The camera did this at launch but was changed some time ago, due to many players complaining about how annoying it was to have to keep moving the camera. However, it seems to have been reverted with the September Feature Pack, either accidentally (most likely) or on purpose.
There have only been two rewards given out so far (available last Friday at wvw reset and tonight at wvw reset). Try a full relog of the game, and make sure your in-game mail isn’t full. If you did the achievements, the mail should show up.
Odds are it wasn’t “hacked” so much as robbed by a former member of the guild. Have you looked to see if anyone has left your guild around the same time the items went missing? If so, that person may be the culprit. I have heard several stories about this, and it was usually done by someone (either being done as a troll or a hacked account) who joined the guild, waited until they could withdraw from the bank, cleared out anything of value, and then either deleted the account or just plain left the guild.
The two people who actually want to complete the event could just as easily move to another server instance rather than troll the farmers.
So how do you do that? There’s no drop down as in GW that allows one to choose another shard. If you’re going to present a workaround, present the whole workaround.
Go to character select screen. Select a different server and guest to it. Now log back in. Make sure not to be in a party with anyone who is still on that shard.
We regularly do this to find dungeons that are unlocked so we don’t have to do pre-events.
Thanks, Calyx, on behalf of myself and any others who didn’t know how that worked.
It won’t always work. You can try by unrepping your guilds and not being in party before guesting, but most of the time it won’t work. But sometimes you get lucky.
The coil event chain is a LS specific event chain. Without the LS, it would not have existed.
Not true. This chain existed long before the LS chapter was out.
