“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
As for ghosts in or around Wychona Woods I could only think of the Ruins of Holy Demetra wich is to the left of that area.
Which also has something to do with Dwayna

Can’t remember if there was a chest somewhere close to the POI.
I don’t know, pretty sure I’ve seen those kind of infomercials for quite a while.
Maybe it’s because I don’t take them serious in the first place. They could offer me 5 million gold and all legendary weapons in a bundle for $1 – not biting.
This post is evidence that their methods are effective.
Careful with the humour
I understand that, but the answer basically is there is no problem with sending gold per se – whether this results in a ban due to it being flagged as gold selling or not is what you are afraid of (or the people who told you you are not allowed to send gold), based on “reports” from other players.
On the other hand you have the continued reassurance from Dev comments that this is not truly the case and the number of wrongly banned/temporary banned accounts due to this is small – plus the necessity of multiple reports/flags.
If you have a guild bank you could do that, provided you both have the permission to use it?

Like I was saying, apple is the fruit of the tree, You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, apple-kabobs, apple creole, apple gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple apple, lemon apple, coconut apple, pepper apple, apple soup, apple stew, apple salad, apple and potatoes, apple burger, apple sandwich. That- that’s about it.
Yay, wallpaper updated – awesome!

Almost looks like popular payday’s, people buying gems and converting them?
I would pay 300 gems for an in-game tinfoil hat, townclothing. Please consider a lab coat to go along with it.
Only if it has some Illuminati reference and numbers on it. If we’re going to have tinfoil hats and labcoats, they need to go all out on it. None of this half-kitten stuff as of late.
I shall be reasonable and agree to your input. Please accept my feedback that I would very much like the number 42 – just not decided if small on the front or large on the back …
Perhaps a tad more on topic – in my opinion it’s a very strong piece of art that nicely conveys a mood – I have no problems with the portrayed mounts. I would love to see a new wallpaper every month!

Are you guys referring to the in-game graph or the one on spidy?
Joh Smith mentioned in a different thread that there is a graphical bug.
This clearly would not have worked with 5 unclothed male characters, which is why we are seeing a 2:3 ratio for compensation.
Haha, thanks for sharing, good to see that there are normal people out there
Man, I am so disappointed. It’s the same wallpaper as last month.
Seriously, looking forward to the update.
Not even close: 9 and 11
well I guess all those threads complaining about how dawn and dusk are too expensive to afford are a load of crap… Clearly plenty of people CAN afford them.
Are they using them or is it just investment?
A quick note here to reinforce that supply orders do not necessarily imply supply. In the last 24 hours apprx 50,000 of these were sold on the TP.
Can you see how they were sold? Out of the bag via the “match lowest order” or bought from an existing offer?
The biggest issue I have with this:
1 -it’s per account rather than per character.
Anyone who has more than one toon is given a big fat middle-finger by ANet.2 – you have no real choice in what shows up on your dailies or monthlies. Don’t like them, tough.
3 – you have no way to do multiples on one toon or one account if you happen to have the time. At least in the other titles ANet scoffs at, you can do as many dailies as you want.
This is nothing but artificial kitten-blocking.
Well, I think that is ok, because on the flipside people who do not wish to play multiple characters would feel left behind.
Here is how I understand the system:
- it’s not meant to be another grind, but rather a potential reward over time or a different way to obtain “stuff”.
- it’s not complete yet, laurels will be rewarded for other achievements as well – you might get more because you finished the personal story on multiple characters (race/order).
- choices for the dailies will come
More flexibility would of course be great, perhaps there could be a weekly achievement that is only available if you haven’t been online for the last 5 days and will then reward equal to 5 dailies. This would certainly be good for people who only play on the “weekends” (whatever days their personal weekend is).
I’m confused at what you mean “beats.” You mean have a larger impact on prices of items? I guess, but it’s pointless to compare to two like that.
Anyways, if inflation was truly occuring, you should see prices of commonly-traded commodities trend upward. You don’t see this though.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/19699
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/19747
Just some random examples. You don’t see any of these prices trending upward.
So if prices of some luxury items are trending upwards, it means the demand is there. Not inflation!
As an aside, I really wish people would stop using the term “prices of ____ is inflating!”
First off, that’s not what the economic term “inflation” means.
And the word implies that there’s a static, “proper” price and that the new prices have deviated from. There’s no such thing in a free economy like this.
I would propose, instead of looking at individual items, to create a tyrian consumer index basket. This is the only thing we could do, unless someone would know of a way to look at the increase in money supply as well.
I would remove the most common low level items as well as precursors/legendary weapons from the basket. For rare and exotic weapons/armour we could go with a couple of picked items in the lower, middle and upper price range or find a medium for each.
Hmm, I stand corrected then. If the OP has the PvP version he can try changing it to a PvE skin? Thought that should be possible now with the new update, haven’t tried myself.
Edit: Not in game right now, you can try these maybe [&AgGDEgAA]
At least I remember the heavy version was one-sided.

All personal story items can be acquired otherwise as well. Karma I believe, check here and see if that’s the one you are thinking about.

Sorry, don’t know which vendor to check.
This would indeed be a great idea – maybe not necessarily replacing the statue itself, but what about this – build additional smaller statues either on the edges around the place – or start a “memory lane” and build statues along a road – with a little plate up front that people can read.

Just play and if you notice that maybe the mobs are getting tougher or you even find yourself dying when this normally shouldn’t be a problem – then check your gear to find out it’s 20-30 levels lower than your current level.
But there is no direct formula.
Feb 1st, last chance
why would they need a legendary if they are casual, whats the point? even if the prices were what they were a few months past, they would never get them anyways. Casuals playthe game for fun, legendaries are design for the hardcore group of players. A causal that decides to work for a legendary can not be consider a causal anymore.
I beg to differ. Mind you that has nothing to do with the TP, I see the TP as a potential shortcut – for a price obviously. The rest (high prices for precursors and the legendary weapons etc) and how/if that affects anything is another story.
I’ve never believed that “only 5% of the players are supposed to” obtain a legendary. Whether or not this is the number of players that realisticly will obtain one is again another story and will depend on different factors.
In closing I would like to point out the newly introduced changes in regards to laurels and the box for karma where you will find some ingredients for legendary weapons as well (without having to directly “grind” for them, aka kill 1million elementals) and the following quote found under the link below.
“The list of rewards will continue to grow and expand as we add content to the game, but we’re committed to the philosophy that you should be able to get the most powerful rewards simply by playing the game the way you want.”

If you have changed your password after September 12, no. If you still use a password you created before September 13, you will have to change it. Pretty straight forward.
Okidoki, thanks.
Judging by some of the comments, a lot of people have neither read the actual blog post nor have they read the one from Mike O’Brien back in September. So let me give you a TL;DR version that should hopefully clear up some concerns/questions:
- No, we have not been compromised.
- We announced in September that we will do this mandatory change at some point. This point is now.
- If you have changed your password after September 12, you are fine, no action required.
For added clarification, I was under the impression that this is in regards to anyone who used a blacklisted password. I’ve never received such a notification, hence I did not change it. Will I be required to change it now?
Mister Anderson.
(…)
I know someone with that exact name – I always greet him like that. Still getting a kick out of it.
Now, which pill will I take …
Hehe, I’m starting to like his humour.
I think it makes him look unprofessional. This is a game for us, but it’s his job. There’s a difference.
I definitely understand where you are coming from. Here is where I am coming from:
- I don’t believe in game designers being evil
- there simply are things he can not talk to us about
There is a general issue with the format of communication like this, it is easy to misinterpret the intentions of a post. But, according to his post history and things that happened afterwards he gives us certain cryptic messages, hints to what he is not allowed to say outright – because it is his job as you had stated above.
So, I can chose to be upset and blame him (reading a post of his) for not fixing what I see as a problem, or I can chose to believe that he is working on the problem (if it is one) and try to read his posts in a more neutral, perhaps even positive tone – keeping an open mind.
At least I have the feeling that he is direct when he can be, no sugar coating, no marketing speech. I take that.
For example I see the newly introduced laurels and the jewellery box as a reaction to even out the playing field, without taking anything away from anyone. Whether or not John had something to do with that and if that truly was the intent does not really matter that much to me. It brings me tiny steps closer to that legendary goal (although I don’t see it as an ultimate goal) without having to truly focus on it, ergo I feel less pushed into playing a certain way.
Anyways, sorry this got longer then I was planning on.
P.S. I would still change the TP interface, especially the sell window out of the bag.
Also, holding on to Jugs of Karma for any reason is an economic reason. Economics isn’t about money, it’s about scarcity, the reason you hold those jugs is because you’re mitigating risk on a scarce resource.
Actually, the reason we are holding jugs of karma is because right now, there is absolutely nothing you can buy with them (except mediocre exotics with bad stat combos), provided that you do not go for legendaries. * hint *
I think the point John is trying to make with this example is that you are not using them because:
- you might be waiting in order to take advantage of a karma booster
- you might not be certain which character to use them with
Both reasons would be results of the scarcity of karma in relation to the available merchandise you could buy with it.
For me personally that was true, until the jewelery box came into play – here I traded karma for even scarcer items, lodestones (from my point of view) and a unique mini (not lucky with the tonics).
Joiry – I’m not trying to prove anything – I am constantly questioning any statistic I see. Only by understanding how numbers came about can I even start trying making sense of them. Since I don’t know how the number came about I can only assume, without stating on how probable I personally think the number is.
At the end of the day I don’t think it’s truly important whether or not it’s 15% or 10% or even 20%. The important question is does it impact the rest. There is not even a need to justify the answer. I give you an example of why I think so.
A couple of weeks ago I heard a trivia on the radio, one of those polls on what people answered to the question of what they are the most afraid of. The answer supposedly was “to die in a plane crash”. Even if it is statistically the safest way to travel (iirc) – it is not perceived as such apparently.
Edit: Perhaps scratch the last two paragraphs, I’m not sure I finished that train of thought and I don’t have time right now. The whole time I was looking at the British space exploration project and could not understand what John was referring to. grin
(edited by Rouven.7409)
Based on a number of dev comments about how they have “more advanced” methods of figuring out what the player base wants instead of the forums, surveys, etc – My assumption has been they are using a variety of data mining techniques to infer what players “really” want.
Coupled with whichever behavioral economics papers are John’s favorites, he’s got some funky model for this stuff. However, at least from the perspective of a fairly quantitative biologist, a lot of this (the data mining, the econ behavior models) are borderline pseudo-science.
The only qualifier for this would be people already having more gold over then needed for “anything” – but haven’t bought/equipped/used “anything”. Thus you could deduct that their sole “fun” is the gold itself (/getting more of it).
Of course, if I already expect this kind of answer I can look at numbers and interpret them the way I like to see them. It requires a certain faith to believe that the right questions are being asked.
To obtain a visual answer, google “gw2 maps”. Here is one with the zone names.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/cutesweet83/Guild%20Wars%202/map.jpg
Similar for me (maybe a wee less then 200), only 1 mini and no tonics, which I hoped for.
Not unhappy with the result though.
Not a totally sure if this belongs here, I noticed that some transmuted items show different icons in different spots. Correct in my own bag, but in correct in the vendors sales window – is this something that you need to know as well?
Edit: How about an “Icon Artist Spotlight” for Maryeli? Totally love how crafting material ’looks" more valuable the higher the tiers get for example. Gotta love icons, they are a very vital part of representing the item!

I want PvE finishers. Rabbit finish that undead chicken, oh yeah.
Ha! No problem, but you get your own, not nice laurels, a thorn crown me thinks. Because PvP is tough. Now excuse me, I have to mentally prepare myself and get ready to try and obtain that masquerade skin for my necro. Don’t hurt me please?
No seriously, I think every way should be viable, but I agree with Blackmoon that not the same currency should be used. Just look at us PvE players as guinea pigs. Once the system is properly tested you’ll get the working solution right away.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=nerfed
Not sure if anyone that was there is still around (like here ^^).
This is what Guild wars 2 has become, a market game about who can get the fanciest clothes and income for their legendary savings, instead of the adventure game it was meant to be.
Well, I think they are on the right track though.
Actually I think dyes are working the best in regards to cosmetics (for me anyways). They drop (again) quite regularly and having 8 characters I can still use them all so far.
Sure, I’m willing to compromise in that regard by not wanting a specific colour right away – but at least there is some sense of progress in terms of “completing” the set itself.
So it basically works like the two extra POI’s in Lion’s Arch.
From the patch notes:
“All weapon and armor skins now have the option to be converted to PvP skins. When activating a skin you will be given the choice to either apply the skin to a PvE item or convert the skin to a PvP-only item. Either action will consume the skin. This change applies to all unused weapon and armor skins in the game, regardless of when the skin was first released.”
I hope this means PvP skins for PvE, as well.
Muhahahaha, that’s awesome, thanks, slipped my radar!
Edit: Definitely worth checking out. Not sure how long it will take me though.
Very happy with the patch. I think it’s a big step in the “we like you to play how you want” direction. Looking forward to the storyline.
Two thumbs up from me.
This comes up frequently. I would actually be happy to PvP for this set, but not being able to wear it in PvE afterwards makes that thought irrelevant.
I have the perfect character for this set sigh
Head (edit: and chest) looks like feathered (crafted), the shoulder twilight arbour (dungeon). Rest not sure.

Have fun, cheers.
“hand me a napkin I need to clean my mascara”
This gave me a good chuckle, if anything you are my personal winner so far
Hey Tiger, I saw the title! If it’s any consolation.
I would be for this feature, titles feel … useless. I believe I have one or two and I think I even have them showing on a couple of characters … but which one … it’s not really interesting. Not bothered to check out titles and achieve them currently.
You should have gotten a one time message here on the forum, it was only a maintenance, nothing has changed apparently.
Edit: You can see it under Announcements. 16h ago right now.
Yes, but I’m not as far as most of you, something like this
80 – 67 – 66 – 66 – 50 – 35 – 32 – 21
One male one female each race – no sylvari. Debating with myself if I should still do that.
I think a 2 hour cycle as it is fit’s nicely into a variety of playstyles. I would definitely not want to see Lions Arch only by sunlight if I happen to log in on a sunday afternoon.
Then you have to factor in the real timezones. What may be realistic for you (if you are in the same timezone as the server) might be totally off for others with a +/- 8 hour difference.
Next thing would be longer nights in winter, shorter nights in summer…
The only thing I would like is to actually be able to tell the difference better, but then that would inconvenience others (can’t see the mobs, it’s too dark). There was a long discussion about moria being too dark in Lotro, some loved it some didn’t. I believe the end result was that it was made brighter in general.
We need … the cone of silence!
Honestly, those things always pop up. Even listening to “for great justice” on cooldown all the time gets boring as well. Perhaps there could really be a sort of a “cone of silence” in the main areas around the bank etc.
Of course I’m all for individual toggles, might just be an easier solution to implement.
Could also be, if it’s done at a location where the TP is, that people are checking out the looks of an item – not changing their chat to whisper or the like.
I always meant to check this out – basically it’s a two hour cycle according to the wiki, if you know when it starts you will at least be able to know (the cycle according to your real time) – there seems to be no in-game setting to show this.
