You give the server winning T1 a link? lolwut? Who is making these decisions? And could you please explain them? I think we’d all like to be enlightened on this since it seems pretty nonsensical.

You prefered they’d give a link to a Full server like JQ or BG? Also ET and AR are problably the smallest servers out there. Their presence isn’t significant to the blobfest that is T1. The only issue will be if these server get Bandwagoned like it happened in the first link.

I’d prefer if they followed the pattern from the last 2 times…where the servers in T1 get no links, the rest of the servers do. There has to be a pattern here, you don’t just go and give 2 of the T1 servers links for no reason.

My thoughts on deplorable cannons:
(I voted no.) If they are to stay in the game, reduce the supply cost to 25, reduce the damage by 66%, remove skill 2 and 3 and give them collision so they cannot be stack built on top of each other OR remove them altogether and let us get back to fighting players, not siege.

Just because you vote no on this siege dose not mean they are going to remove other siege. What makes the other siege such as AC a problem is that you can hide the ac behind walls or other objects a cannon you must be able to see what your shooting at putting the cannon right in the line of fire of players. If any thing we need more siege like cannons.

There is something very wrong with ppl view on voteing the if you do not like something “vote no” on any changes to that something just vote no on every thing. Its stopping human progress badly. Siege is a good example of this ppl hate siege a lot but to add more in even if its a counter to other siege they feel they must vote no with out thinking it though and what there no turly means.

He meant if cannons are voted to stay, fix them so they aren’t so broken. Right now 3 cannons can wreck a group worse than an AC can, and 2 and 3 on them help that considerably. Otherwise remove them from the game, so we can go back to the usual warfare with zergs, ACs, catas, etc etc. Because right now cannons are completely breaking the balance, as they’re more powerful than ACs are on players, and more powerful than ballista on siege (and easier to hit said siege with).

It really feels like Mallyx’s heal needs to be a condi-cleanse. Don’t just heal more for each condi on the Rev, DEVOUR those condis for that extra heal. For a stunbreaker, maybe make the F2 the stunbreaker? It gives it another use other than just having it on to increase boon duration (because I doubt many people use it just for the boons on use).

It’ll be the Black Citadel hit next. Assuming we actually go to the Crystal Desert next, the closest big city is the Citadel itself. So that will probably get hit and get partially damaged. The charr aren’t likely to have their Iron Legion capital go down without a fight.

Mallyx/glint, hammer/staff, getting stab from guardians in the party, though how long it lasts depends on how bad the CC is. If you’re having problems still, outside of combat start in Glint, use the F2 and Chaos facets. Let your energy hit 0, and when your energy hits 25-27, do it again. You can stack up to 25s of protection (48s before the nerf), which will help you survive through the first 2 pushes. Just make sure you switch to Mallyx when the pushing starts, and switch back to Glint whenever you can get it off and have enough time to switch to Mallyx before the next push.

Hammer is mostly for long-ranging, since the majority of the time enemies will go outside of your melee range, and it’ll be suicide to squirrel off the tag.

Sadly he did not have a bonus mission, but considering how Charr are often taught skills other than their profession depending on their Legion, I figure they could pull together something with old Blood Legion techniques, though I admit that’s a stretch.

Since we already have Rangers, who are sort of like good wardens of nature and are on Melandru’s side, I object to really any Ranger Legend like Pyre. Although I like his personality as a Legend, it would be unique. He doesn’t seem to have any superpowers that I remember, but again Ventari has left a precedent of being just a chill bro Legend. I’m pulling for Urgoz since he’s morally neutral and is kind of like the unforgiving, hostile side of nature as opposed to Rangers.

If you recall, Pyre had quite a few fire based skills. If he’s added, I picture them giving him some skills that weren’t moved into GW2, and have access to a lot of burning on Longbow (which would probably be his weapon), and possibly more than a few conditions on him. While Mallyx seemed to deal with torment and taking conditions, Pyre could easily deal with dishing them out.

War boat needs to have perment cannons on it!

They may want to drop the dmg to player on cannons but up the dmg vs siege i think cannons can fill bilsta roll a lot better due to longer ranged and no drop in projectile. Though i think deployable morder is something that wvw needs for a real counter siege so next beta!

Keep in mind a cannon can only hit what it can see so its very hitable and its a one shot so its easy to avoed. Its weaker then AC for anty player.

They’re already strong enough. Can hit through gates, does some big damage to siege, can hit up to 50 targets, has no timer, can’t be crit or hit with conditions, and IS NOT EFFECTED BY SIEGE CAP LIMITS. It’s so utterly broken that the answer will be “NO!” from anybody you ask.

Cant honestly speak for the rest of the classes but it doesnt seem that the changes were wholly unfair. The only thing im really puzzled about is of the changes have actually stopped the issue in wvw?

They have, massively. Last night we had equal footing with the enemy whenever we fought them away from the stupid cannons, and could do actual good damage for once, with their attempts to faceroll ending up in their deaths.

I request an immediate look at cannons by Anet. You can have 3 cannons right next to each other on a door to a gate or keep, completely negating any possible rams from going down. This forces catas, which can also be taken down by 3 more cannons placed on the wall. This is beyond ridiculous, there needs to be a range limit to how close cannons can be (including the already set tower/keep cannons), such as 1800 range, at the least, since it would cut down on a lot of this nonsense. It wouldn’t fully get rid of it, but it’d cut down on it.

Guys, the change to the stab on dodge may have in fact been a buff. Dodged once, evaded 4 attacks, got 8 stacks of stab.

There’s also that line in the Zephyrite journal, that says " Dragons consume magic, but they do not destroy it. They hold it within themselves like a sponge holds water." That sounds to me like a general trait of the entire creature type. (It’s also worth noting that the Zephyrites are the only characters we’ve met who’ve been to Cantha, so that statement probably takes the Saltsprays and Rockhides into account.)

To be more specific:
Its like a cycle we have with plants and animals

Animals consume Oxygen, and create Carbon Dioxide
Plants consume Cabron Dioxide and create Oxygen.

So dragons consume Magic and create Corrupted Magic
During their sleep, the Corrupted Magic seeps back into the earth and is slowly returned to normal Magic. When the Dragon wakes up from its hibernation, its hungry again and starts consuming that Magic again.

There is no written lore on how exactly this magical exchange is performed, though, I always just assumed that the ‘earth’ or ‘eternal alchemy’ purifies the corrupted magic

…or there’s a final dragon, one who does this other exchange. He devours the corrupted magic and turns it back into normal magic. Maybe a dragon called Tyria?

I’m not sure what the problem is? You’re describing a normal GW2 balance patch.

Well if this is considered normal then that’s a problem from everything I’ve been reading, it seems like no one has anything remotely positive to say and frankly I don’t want to take the chance leveling up a profession that’s going to be kitten.

I have something positive to say…they effectively neutered boonsharing, one of the worst things in the game in WvW, and what was basically a crutch in PvE. You done good Anet, you done good…now you just need to buff Rev damage next patch and all will be good.

From what I’m seeing, Rev in WvW was basically untouched outside of the F2 duration nerf. We’re still shoehorned into Glint/Mallyx, and there were no changes there at all.

The major change is that the Retribution traitline is now useless, with their most valuable traits nerfed and the NR boon extension reduced a 34%. You will have even less access to stability and damage mitigation.

So now you Herald can keep being one of the classes with worst access to condi cleansing and stunbreaks, while also being the worst accessing to stability.

I think they touched it… a lot.

Versed in Stone is completely random when it’ll show up anyway, it couldn’t be relied on too much to begin with. And if you were wasting dodge rolls just for Stab, you had a problem to begin with. :/

I disagree with the way anet goes about it, but the personal dps/healing and support a druid brings is absoluty ridiculous.

Have you ever played druid or looked at the numbers? Druid DPS is amongst the LOWEST of all classes.

In fact, they are so low that most groups barely bother doing anything but Magi druids because the DPS gain is so minimal and is still trash even if you go full condi or zerk.

They won’t buff Ranger’s DPS because of PvP, the one mode that Rangers excel in the most. Most of the Ranger nerfs were caused by that mode, so don’t ever expect a Ranger buff until they finally start separating things for modes.

The 100% up time on Quickness seems unintended. It messes with balance badly as many skills do not work well with Quickness. Same can be said about Stability and Protection in WvW. These boons are not meant to have any where remotely close to 100% up time, and it seems the devs are going to change that.

The question is when the dust settles, Ranger and Mesmer, which are played primarily for support, will they have viable dps options? They currently do not. As for Rev, with or without F1, Rev will remain one of the most viable dps, but also is the least diverse class in terms of viable builds. Will see if any of that changes. TBH, considering that most of these issues have been there since HoT release, I am not optimistic.

Actually, if nerfing 1 skill removes the class from raids, it usually means the PLAYERBASE set up the meta to abuse said skill. Which means the skill is OP and DOES need to be adjusted along with the rest of the class itself so they can start bringing the class along for something other than that one skill. It seems Anet is following that idea, and I give them props for that. Now the question is can they make the class worthy of bringing for other than that reason? Such as buffing damage, heals, etc etc.

No druid game, but if it is to nerf that at least improve our pets, wyverns, bears and even moa has super slow attacks and low damage and need urgent improvement and more efficient attacks …. as well as those f2 pets need to have a lower cooldown and be more efficient.

Only improve the pets and I are pleased that even playing with my ranger core that is too good.

Doubtful they’d buff the pets. They nerfed them from the getgo because of PvP, and odds are doing that would cause PvP to call for nerfs for them again. <_<

Like well a few Minutes of thinking and this happened.

Why do I think the same went on for Signet of Inspiration and Rev?

It didn’t. The skill was in play for so long and absolutely destroyed any real train of thought for Raids and WvW. Just have a mesmer boonshare and profit. We were seeing enemies stand in AoEs in WvW and not going down, they weren’t even trying to avoid them. And if you need that running in raids, it diminishes the overall skill level of the party. Put 2 and 2 together, and you can see that the move needed to be nerfed. I won’t be surprised if it only gives 10s of every buff now (which can still be pretty powerful).

Tired of Stealth

Anet needs to do a complete overhaul of how stealth works in the game otherwise a nerf like being dealt damage cancels stealth would almost delete it from game use.

No, they just need to reduce the amount of access to stealth Thief can get, and then it’ll be fine. Which of course means nerfing the Pistol #5 skill from Smoke field to Dark field in order to stop the easy access stealth…but that of course opens a different can of worms dealing with Thief…how weak the class actually is, and how much of that is masked by the constant Black Powder -> Heartseeker combo that is prevalent for stealth stacking.

The thing is, if you’re adjusting so many skills to prevent stacking a mechanic and when the mechanic is transposed onto other classes they suddenly become completely overpowered; at what point do you say it’s the mechanic that might need tweaking and not everything else in the game?

If I recall, Scrappers only have access to the mechanic through an elite that’s easily visible and easily destroyed and blasting a smoke field which they can only put down with bombs, Druids only have access to it through LB3, and Mesmers have it through Torch 4, Decoy, Veil, and Mass Invisibility. Of those only Mesmer would be the biggest stealth problem other than Thief, though they can be fixed through alteration of skill cooldowns (something which Thief lacks in weapon skills).

Anet needs to do a complete overhaul of how stealth works in the game otherwise a nerf like being dealt damage cancels stealth would almost delete it from game use.

No, they just need to reduce the amount of access to stealth Thief can get, and then it’ll be fine. Which of course means nerfing the Pistol #5 skill from Smoke field to Dark field in order to stop the easy access stealth…but that of course opens a different can of worms dealing with Thief…how weak the class actually is, and how much of that is masked by the constant Black Powder → Heartseeker combo that is prevalent for stealth stacking.

Druid is a Burst Healer. No buff will make this usefull in WvW.
Mesmer Boon Share isnt even Meta.
Revenant F1 isnt even broken…..

Revenant F2 combines with Mesmer to make the Boon Share beast.
Condi Meta has been here for a long time, Resistance has merely covered up that it’s still going.

Maybe people should stop doomsaying and whining before the actual detailed changes are released. Who knows what ELSE they will add/change to balance things. I’d find it hilarious if they buff Mesmer despite the doom and gloom here over a signet change.

It could be anet totally screws PvE for PvP/WvW balances. Until we get the actual changes I am not wasting time crying a river and overreacting. IF things end up being as ppl say here, I will be there with my own tears. Until then, I’ll wait before grabbing the pitchforks and torches. Plus I misplaced my pitchforks.

Based on the past events, it’s better to cry earlier, so ANET reads about it and takes it in consideration – it happened before it can happen again. It’s either this, or, well, you know, waiting for the next balance patch in a few months.

They don’t need to budge on the SoI nerf, it’s massively needed for WvW. I WOULD like them to make it WvW exclusive though, since certain things only need to be changed there. Similar to nerfs exclusively for PvP.

No need to worry Pro raiders will find the new meta post it and all others will follow like sheep. That is the way it always has been. BAAAAAH

That’s not the issue here.
The main problem is that they are balancing part of a game that will push specific classes out of the party, but won’t even look at other roles (and nerf them) to give the pushed out classes the equal opportunity to replace them. That’s not balance.

It has never been balance. Before HoT, nobody wanted Rangers, nobody wanted Thieves outside of stealth, and Engineers barely made the cut. This has never changed since GW2 came out.

Oh.

YOU could adapt to it too. But nonetheless, boonsharing will still be a thing, SoI and Revs are just a part of the problem, enjoy destroying PvE and still having perma boons on WvW.

40+ seconds of Resistance, Protection, and Quickness, over a 20+ person group. It’s beyond ridiculous. No other boons are that much of a gamechanger but those 3. You can still do a party wide Protection and Resistance, but Resistance won’t go over 25s and Protection, while being able to go over 40s, requires a Revenant to stay in Glint and use all their energy. It’s not viable in WvW battles short of you being a worthless boon bot in battle.

How to counter zerg melee charges?

This has been known since the era of hammertrains.

The counter to a melee heavy train is a ranged swarm. You dont stack, you dont push, you just slip away on the sides (or dodge straight through) and hit the rear. There are always people falling behind. As long as you can prevent the train from getting a solid target (ie 4+ kills in a single push), you can slowly wear them down. Kill them one by one until the train itself get so thin it start falling apart. Thats when you push hard.

This. It’s the #1 strategy for ZvZ warfare, or just blob busting (though that’s a lot harder to pull off).

Shadow stones were used by the Seers to superpower themselves and become able to forge bloodstones, of course I want in on that.

But really, I chose Priory to experiment with the out-of-body experience.

So we’re going to be able to forge a small bloodstone in a sense and extract the excess magical energy inside us, probably with the bloodstone being used as a battery to power our epic attacks? Do want!

They also seemingly retconned much of the Mursaat lore with those tablets in Ember’s Bay. Basically the Mursaat are the missunderstood good guys all of a sudden.

It was found at a Mursaat Fortress after the Mursaat returned and helped create the White Mantle. I don’t see it as retconning when it’s possible that it’s propaganda, or written by a Mursaat years after their higher-ups changed history to their liking. Remember, only the victors/survivors of war write history.

It’s more that he may be looking for whatever Scarlet was researching before she went absolutely insane, or in the middle of the insanity. It could possibly be something the Aetherblades are wanting to sell, or something they wish to give to the Pact to get back on good graces with the majority of Tyria. Or they’re seeing something crazy going on in the Mists and it may explain what’s happening.

That’s a very interesting theory, but is also extremely cruel and twisted: the Wyld Hunt for Caithe could have included “warn the pact fleet” instead of simply “take away the commander so the pact fleet can be destroyed without worries”.

Wyld Hunts are rather vague and open to interpretation most of the time, especially the more important ones. For example, Trahearne’s was to “cleanse Orr”. But it never went about TELLING him how to do it. It’s up to the Sylvari themselves to determine how to do it, or to ignore it altogether.

YB was the first server to crash and burn when the linkings first started. Dropping from kitten T4 in 1 month. Now they bounced back up to T1.

And they will burn again once they lose their linking.

I am a little horrified that Yb are having their glicko manually adjusted and not earning their place in tier 1 when they solely play a pvd game and avoid fights at every opportunity.

It’s because ANET knows that YB destroys any tier they’re in due to their PPT nature, and T1 has been nothing but PPT dead for the longest, so they’re a perfect match. Keep them up there, and do not let them leave. That special hell is reserved for servers who care about PPT.
