If he already entered his personal story you can not join him, you both have to enter it at the same time. So you would have to be on the same map like Queensdale in a party together then he enters his personal story and it will give you a pop up notification.
There isn’t a way to report someone for that and nor sure there be. It sucks I know but there are real reasons for people to go afk during events/tournaments. I believe/heard people tend report pvp afkers as scammers not bots since they are “scamming” free glory and rank points by just standing there.
In all honestly though the person in your case isn’t breaking any rules in need of reporting. He just isn’t a good team player.

“Clothing” Pros:
- It’s neat how all 3 sets are similar to each other but different.
- The straps and line details just look amazing.
- The “cape” of the heavy look fanatic, I wish the other 2 were more like it, with a cut design at the bottom then a plain cut. The cut design really adds to it imo since like I said it’s not a plain cut, after all we see the backs of our character the most I seeing another pointed “cape” is like eh.
- Awesome that they are adding more male skins that show “skin”
“Clothing” Cons:
- What’s up with those shoes, that curl on the heavy is just urg, the light and medium I can deal with but the heavy noooo way.
- I find the mask just plain creepy, blank expressionless, no eyes *shudder.
- I feel like too much of the neck cover is attached to the chest piece. I feel like half or most of the neck cover should be attached to the helm not the chest piece. Not really an issue if you view your helm but for those who hide the helm it might be off putting.
The “skin” debate
- Tights, body paint, form fitting armor, w/e you want to call it is skin-like. I don’t care what card you want to play, but the fact remains that the dye parts are giving off the appearance of clothing making it is slightly awkward for the female skins. The clothing basically just cups the bottom doesn’t cover at all, like wearing a bra that’s 2 cups too small. I honestly don’t mind the heavy one at all, I just wish that the light and medium ones covers as much as the heavy version does. (TBH it’s the only reason I didn’t buy a light one)
- Do I wish it was dyeable, yes! It would most certainly be awesome if we could. Having to work around the blue is a tad bit of a hassle plus everyone with the skins are all forced to be the same color, I like being different. Plus I like having my characters being different from each other so I wouldn’t want to buy more then 1 set (light,med, or heavy). Although people tend to go crazy and it might look gross to have everyone running around in different slimmer colors. Perhaps tweaking the blue to be more transparent or no blue at all would be a better option (granted you covered the naughty bits for all the kids playing).
Overall my thoughts for the future are troubled
While the recent armor effects have been nice and cool, I’m worried about it. First we have the achv armor Radiant and Hellfire, Flame gem store set, the Wurmslayer armor, and now the Zodiac… I get why there’s an effect for the achv armor and the Wurmslayer armor sure, but there wasn’t really a reason for the Flame or Zodiac there were just there not even tied to the LS. I just really hope they are not making the effects a new standard, as nice as it is I don’t want it on EVERY armor. I love mixing and matching but with the effects it’s hard (for my taste) to do so since the effect sticks out so much. That being said I’m not saying never have effects, but could we keep it to rare occasions and still output normal skins without lighting or mist come off of it.
I had one of my characters do Retribution post patch. The 3 orders meet together for first time at Claw Island to see about forging a pack and they end up taking down a the Plaguebringer.
I thought the destruction in the background was awesome while the meeting was taking place, before going to Claw Island. What I found hilarious though was how after you kill the Plaguebringer everyone is saying how Lion’s Arch is no longer in danger, I just about died laughing.
Had a spare character slot so I figured I would take a look….this is what I see:
AC dun shoulder, Cultural T2 chest & pants, Whispers Glove & shoes
Side note: I just noticed that in the character creation Sylvari is the only race that has mix armor sets.

So I was just going to suggest trying the look on a slimmer body type since some of the thicker ones clip through armor when moving….but I decided to check the same look on one of my characters and it still clips pretty badly. Other skin tight pants clip through the shoes as well from what I can tell.
It’s not just the T3 shoes though I’ve come across this on my ele with some light shoes (Exalted, I think in particular).
It counts days actually played, so not days that go by without logging in.
I do not think that’s correct, hours are tied to play time but the days are calendar days since account creation.
So I just check out my boyfriends account (created the same day as mine but is never on) and we have the same day count for all characters, so it does seem to be based off of account creation. However something must be off about it because like I said my other friend had his game ~2 months before me so he should have ~60days more then me not 6 =/

^that’s what shows up. For my friend who had the game 2 months before me says 518 days, so that doesn’t make sense. That’s why I’m curious if the day count just counts the days you log in or something.

I believe you are mistaken the skin before was the Human T3 female and male. It wasn’t a new/original armor.
As someone who doesn’t flip or otherwise play the TP beyond occasional guessing of what new skin will be valuable in a month, I’ll say the biggest pair of QoL changes that could happen to affect every player would be 1) being able to sort by armor weight and 2) being able to search for back pieces by category rather than a list of possible names.
As someone who’s been unable to open the TP since Sunday morning, I’ll say that access to it is core to enjoyment of the game and I’ll be grateful to get it back even in its “archaic” form. I have been getting increasingly cranky from the impact of losing use of the TP and Gem Store. Dwelling on it, actually, I seem to mention it in most every post I make because it is so huge a deal to me just now.
I’ll add one more to your list and I’ll be happy: 3) remove/send back all bids that are at/under the vendor cost!!

Something I have suggested before in a dead thread over in the suggestion archives was to just add more dyes options to the makeover kits.
After all there already is hair color, eye color, hair styles, and face options that are already kit exclusive, so it’s completely possible for them to add hair accessory dyes to kits. Plus it would boost their sales for hair style kits/total makeover kits win-win.

Did you guys just not noticed that the other flame skins where reskins of cheap armor. Flamewalker is from WvW and Flamewrath is a karma skin.
Not sure what everyone was expecting for the reskin but they obviously wasn’t going to make a whole new skin since people who bought the med or heavy would complain how they got reskins and light got a new one.
I also want to throw it out there that imo they choose a good skin for it. Since it has a lot of similar qualities to the Human T3 sure taste-wise not everyone will like it but that’s life.

that plus they want to make it feel rewarding seeing it pop up and clicking accept sort of does that or at least let’s you know you got it.
I would be so down for a daily challenge like this, sounds like a lot of fun.
Only issue though is for the ever so liked topic of achievement points and how it’s impossible for new players to catch up do to all the missed dailies and living story content. So if they even considered adding this they would have to keep that in mind.
A solution could be to have a cap on the daily achievements which would include th dailies and the daily challenge. That way they can still reward 5-10ap for the daily challege, but it would be capped with the dailies at 10 ap so that a huge ap gap doesn’t come of this new addition between those that have the time to do these (ppl who play 8hrs a day) and those who don’t.

Typically the 3rd race based choice changes nothing and is purely for dialog with slight exceptions.

Now, titles are account wide. I guess people would be on their honor to only use them as appropriate I know you said character specific, I dunno how easily they could code that.
Exactly I can picture it now Humans running around with titles saying they are in the Blood Legion. But then again we do have those titles for pvp that are class based, not sure if they are bound to class or not, if they are bound to class then the code is already in the game.
I feel your pain. A month ago I sent out mail to all my guild members saying if they don’t reply back to be before 2014 they will be removed, and it took forever with that mail suppression.
Personally, I find the system pointless since it doesn’t really stop a gold seller. Assuming most are just bots sending out the message all they need is a little extra code telling it to wait a minute every few mails.
My thoughts is that they remove the suppression for sending mail to guildmates (not people on friend list). Or if that is too difficult to filter for how about a guild upgrade that allows for one mass mail message to everyone in the guild, build time for the item can be 3 days and you can’t speed up the process, in order to prevent guilds from spamming it.
why do you ask for this mini game crap and miniatures? there are more important changes that needed to be done rather then inventing ton of mini useless pets and mini games with useless rewards.
Considering that they release a new mini with almost every LS patch and the fact that they are a descent money maker for Anet when they do the bundles, such as the 3 holiday minis, they should take sometime looking to improve the minis.
As of now it’s probably mostly the mini collectors buying the minis from the gem store, if they made improvements or added a mini game involving the mini pets, then other (besides the mini collectors) would be interested in buying all the bundles.
Not sure about other minis but in the statue fractal my mini hippo bounces off the barrier shield on the final seal. It’s rather cute since it sequels and rolls over, plus if you are standing in the right spot he will keep doing it since he just gets back up and try to be by your side.

I like these unique titles far better then champion xxx. Not saying those are exactly what it should be changed to, but something along those lines as far as uniqueness goes. That being said I think thief would sound better as Shadow of Death, ranger should stick with Hunter so that it avoids the he/she mess, and Warroir title I’m like eh on but can’t think of a better suggestion.

For norn, it could be something like “Guarded by ____” with the appropriate Spirit of the Wild, depending on what the player chose—a player who chooses Raven at creation would have access to the title “Guarded by Raven.” Or “Becomes the ____,”
For sylvari, it could be “Born of Twilight/Dawn/Night/Day.” For charr, “Soldier of the _ Legion.” For humans, “Blessed by _.” For asura, “College of _ Alumnus.”
It’d be awesome to have something available to make that connection to our character’s biography visible.

Biography based titles based off of what you choose in character creation, would be a nice addition for titles imo.
Other ideas:
- Dungeon titles for completing each the name of the achviement itself could make for a good title Catacombs Conqueror, Manor Magnate, Twilight’s Idol, ect
- Mini title for Set II Miniature Acquirer (set one is already in game Miniature Collector)
- Southsun Survival title for getting all SS achievements Odds are in my Favor
My top five six in no particular order:
1. Ability to mystic forge/upgrade 250 Transmute Stones to 8-20 Transmute Crystals
The input of 250 and out put of 8-20 shouldn’t really effect gem store purchases of the crystals, plus those numbers can always be tweaked.
2. Addition of the Clock Tower and Wintersday jp achievements to the jp category
Doesn’t even need to reward achv pts, just there to document if you did it before since they will be reoccurring.
3. Anet going back through all the armors giving them more dye slots
Since not every armor has 4 dye options and it could really add to customization.
4. New inventory option for Minis for on or off
Similar to the check boxes for show/hide bags & rarity except this option would make it so your mini would always be there. You die it lays down dead, you wp or travel it is still there, you swim it’s gets put into an air bubble. If you have multiple minis in your bag then it chooses the first one.
5. More titles for existing achievements/more unique titles
Search for title threads there have been a few good ones. Such as, more unique titles for pvp no champion xxx, biography based titles for what you choose in creation, titles for slayer achievements, also title for each dungeon completion, 100% jps. It’s fairly cheap content since the system is already in place.
6. One update patch focusing on Guild improvements
Adding a 6th to my list because well I can. Improvements include last log in, event calendar, and ability to set access for Deep Cave separate from Treasure Trove.
Someone suggested this a while back in one of the mini threads….
Mini’s without swim animations be put into a air bubble when swimming.
You can make things account-bound through transmutation crystals/stones (though you’d have to sacrifice their stats).
^This step by step goes….
1 buy a white/blue backpiece
2 transmute mad skin, white/blue stats
3 give to your desired character
4a buy a new backpiece for its stats and transmute
4b buy a splitter stone to get your old stats back
As I said in other threads…..I do agree that Anet should just create a Soulbound → Accountbound (Soulbound on use) gem store item. Since it’s in the game already by using the splitter trick/transmute trick (if you don’t care about stats) why not make it official wit hit’s own gem store item. After all Anet is losing out on a lot of potential gem sales because it’s not obvious that you can swap skins or move ledgendaries with these tricks that people are doing.

We are more then likely going to have something added to jewel crafting to 500 after all there is still the Crystalline ore, Crystalline Ingot, and Xunlai Electrum Ingot not accounted for yet with ascended crafting.
Personally, I hope that they focus on upgrade components rather than crafting trinkets since we can get asc trinkets elsewhere easier. My idea would be to not only create the next level of filigree gem, but also expand to sigils and runes.
The jewelers would be able to modify other upgrade components is because we “jeweled/adorned them.” So your Superior Rune of Fire could be turned into Ruby Rune of Fire . The sup rune of fire stats will be unchanged, but there will be counters for the gem/jewel addition, sort of like they are their own rune. Except it would be dependent on the rune so if you have 2 Ruby Runes of Fire it will read it as 2 ruby runes so you get (1)&(2), but if you have 1 Ruby Rune of Fire and 1 Ruby Rune of Ice it will read it as 2 different ruby runes so you get (1)&(1) ruby stats.
Stat-wise I wouldn’t want to increase too much compared to exotics runes and would want them to be compatible. So you can have 2 Ruby Runes of Fire and 4 Sup Runes of Fire and still get all 6 rune effects for the rune. Numberwise it would be just +1 to +3 so not too much more, possibly have all of them be just +1 if it’s too much of an increase, except crit % could be lower or have some cooldown in place.
For sup sigils it would gain +1 of the major stat of the gem. So a ruby sigil will have an added +1 Power to it.
Being able to upgrade your runes would also give players another viable reason to use the new gemstore upgrade component extractor. They could take the asc runes off one character and swap to an alt. So it could add to the sales of that, which would be a plus for Anet.
I use all my karma on the Orrian Jewelry Boxes, since I get Obsidian Shards and lodestone from it. Not to mention when I dump 1mil karma (and repeat because of the karma consumables) I tend to get a few gold selling the junk item. I wish there was a fast consume/consume all for it though.
It’s a bug all new Wintersday minis get affected by combat. Someone’s dog died
Still odd though since it was my mini hippo calf not a new wintersday mini, plus that squeal. At least I’m not completely crazy and losing my mind if other minis do it too
Today I did a fractal run and it was the Statue fractal. On the last level the seal is protected by the circle shield/barrier. One of the time I went up to it to hit it and my mini hippo calf for some reason was trying to walk into the seal….
That when I saw a new animation I never seen before. The hippo sort of squealed and rolled over like he was being knocked down and he kept doing it until I moved.
I wish recorded it, because I can’t seem to find anything about it anywhere. Make me skeptical that my eyes and imagination were playing tricks on me. I just can’t seem to figure out how to get my hippo to do it again. Has anyone else seen a knockback animation for their mini pet?
I noticed that some of the glasses, the bunny ears, boxing gloves and all of the fancy shirts have “Available for 7 days only!” message on them. I really wish this limited time nonsense would stop in the gem store. I know they use it as some sort of marketing scheme to drive sales but it’s really short-sighted.
Those items have been in there for around a year now so they aren’t really a limited edition items. They probably have stopped selling for awhile now which is why they are going away. Frankly I’m glad they are clearing up some of the towns clothes, maybe it’s a sign that they plan on adding more in.
About the wintersday clothes I wouldn’t mind having a chance at buying one of them, hopefully it will come out later or a different type for that matter.
Anyone know if there are any plans for new skin patterns in the future? Just curious since for me anyway the new faces came out of the blue, which are awesome btw. In general it would be nice to see more skin/fur/tattoos for all races on their appropriate race. But I would love seeing more to Sylvari since they are my favorite. If you could have more skin patterned what you you like to see??
Currently looking at both male and female skins patterns they don’t seem to have all the same ones. In my eyes the pairs go as following:
- 1m = 1f
- 3m = 6f
- 4m = 5f
- 5m = 4f
- 6m = 2f
- 2m = none
- 7m = none
- 3f = none
- 7f = none
- 8f = none
You could argue that 2m and 7f are similar but when you look at the dark pattern on the legs they are clearly not the same. So we already have the potential of 3 new male skins and 2 new female skins right there by making the gender counter skins. Other new skins patterns/types could be:
- 5 counter gender skins stated above
- another version of the spotted skin like 3f
- a ring look like 7f but more pronouced/more
- light pattern version of 4f/5m where the dark purple is a light purple/other color
- a “stripe” like pattern similar to 2m or like birch wood

There next overhaul should be done to guilds. They already did changed to WvW, Fractals, and PvP we need some guild love. Having to mess around with extra tags/ranks is bothersome since as soon I finish my bi/tri monthly check of who is still here I have to start all over again…not cool and takes up way too much time.
On a side note things guilds need or would nice in an overhaul:
- Last Login (must have)
- Ability to set different parameters for guild Treasure Trove and Deep Cave
- Message of the Day pop-up/flash for when it changes
- Guild Calendar tab (not 100% needed but it would easier then putting it in motd)
- Leaders ability to mass mail everyone in guild (it could require influence/que time to build the ability to EACH TIME, so that it is not spammed)
That is all, for the most part anyway.
Edit: I realize the counter argument is for this is for those elitist guilds that will kick you if you haven’t logged in in x amount of days. But come on do you really want to be in one of those guild who kick you if you don’t log in every week, doesn’t sound like a fun guild to me.

The issue is that they are account-bound on aquire, and what if the gifter also have it maxed out after he/she/it bought it for 40% off?
Maybe I wasn’t clear on my idea I’ll try again.
The item will remain account-bound on acquire. Except when you already have it maxed out the mail/message will instead say “XXX sent you _ you already have the max allowed upgrades for this item would you like to gift it to another?” You could choose yes or no.
If you say yes it will pop up the normal gift menu, except you don’t need to purchase it since you have it.
If you said no a message/mail will be sent back to the original sender saying "YYY already has the max upgrade for _. Would you like to gift to someone else? Again it would pop up normal gift menu.
Worst comes worse all your friends already have that said item so gift it to a random person. Or Anet can simply prevent gifting upgrades to those that have it maxed, I doubt that would be to hard to filter for.
I think we should be able to use our Account name in things like Guild chat – I have too many alts and don’t expect people to keep track of them all. :P
I’d rather not have it show our account name, even if it just in guild chat then it can cause confusion when you talk in /p or /g. Plus people can have the same account name just different numbers and I’d rather not see a bunch of numbers in chat.
I thought about it before and came up with the idea that we use the nickname feature. Since we can give our friends a “nickname” in our friends list I feel we should be able to see that nickname in place or their character name in chat. Nicknames can appear in “quotes” that way we know it is a nickname not a character name.
If they did give us the option for seeing “nicknames” instead then I wouldn’t mind also adding a “note” feature in our friends list. Since some of my nicknames are “Billy AC,” “Jenny fractal,” or “Bob giant” with a note feature I can just give them the nick name of Billy, Jenny, and Bob and have notes by their names to remind me what they like doing or why they are in my friends list.
The issue is most likely that the upgrades are finite.
So there is always a risk that the person you would gift it to already have stuff maxed out, thus making the upgrade completely useless.
True, but what if they made it so the person could regift the upgrade. For example what if I already had my 64 characters slots and someone gave me a character slot. Since I already have all of mine I can regift it back to the person or to someone else. The regifting option would only show up if the person has max in order to avoid exploits of the sale.
Honestly I went in and solved the Aetherblade puzzle and Watchknight my first try. I didn’t even realize there was a fail option until I got to the Molten. Then I was like ooo so we do have to pick certain combos and just thought ok flame, ice, and iron would be the best to describe them. While in the back of my mind I was giddy for myself since my instinct/personal choose for the Aetherblade puzzle was actually the answers.
I regularly grief AP farmers in Crab Toss that want to get the win and use fishing pole on them even if they don’t have the crap. (It’s still a legit strategy to weaken the strongest so he won’t get easy win).
Don’t think in LA it is griefing. You still get loot and don’t need to do much for event credit I think. Would be hard to lock someone completely down.
Now I’m just thinking about. If you had a party of 3-5 you probably could keep someone down. Just target a random sucker and everyone fire at him. 3-5 due to cooldowns and having to pick up more snowballs. I highly doubt you would prevent them from getting credit for the event, but you could probably prevent them from picking up a present since it will despawn after a little bit.
The problem is that the game (not just the chat) rightly displays the character name. You can then use that character name to /whisper, /join a party, send private messages (that can include items and gold attachments), I’m assuming /block and such.
All of this only works because the character names are unique.
I agree that it kind of sucks for character creation, and I’m really not happy with the influx of nonsensical names and especially nonsensical over-use of accents. Anyway, I wrote something on character naming that might help you pick lore-conform names (if you wish) by adding titles, middle initials, etc.:

I am not 100% happy with how character names are handled in GW2 either: I think
- the name field should be longer
- capitalization shouldn’t be enforced (thinking of my good friend Mcallister here which looks 100 times dumber than McAllister would have)
- allow for apostrophes and hyphens (you may think that apostrophes, aside from RL examples like O’Brien or d’Agestino, would make many players take on really dumb fantasy names only consisting of apostrophes and the letter y, but it cannot possibly be worse than all the “Jóhñ ?mìth” type of names we already have in game now)
I completely agree! All of your suggestions are great, but the capitalization one should be enforced to only having 2 capitals in one word that way we don’t have a bunch of McAlLiStEr or MCALLISTER running around limiting it to 2 capitals per word wouldn’t be horrible. Sure we will still see a random cap in the middle, but it wouldn’t look as crazy as every other letter.
Just saying I am kind of glad that the armor is semi on the ugly side, depending on taste. Think about it for a minute if the armor has the best stats AND the best looking everyone would be going for it and we would have a ton of clones everywhere. So since they are semi distasteful people are still encouraged to go for other armor sets. Or maybe I am alone in thinking like that…
Personally I like all 3 of the female faces. Reasons….
- is a nice “human” face that is different from the previous “human” face. Since the old one have vines/markings going out from the nose in all directions and was symmetrical, the new one is going out to the forehead and has a nice asymmetrical touch to it.
- I just find adorable, but that’s my opinion. It just looks nice and plantly and is like a chibi. If the eye size bothers you though you can always make them smaller. The no nose part well why does a plant need a nose anyway?!? Again I love the asymmetrical look of the pine cones and the face that it goes high up to the forehead, since a lot of hairstyles make sylvari look blading.
- Another pretty face with an asymmetrical twist. I like how the bark/vines on the chin isn’t as noticeable as old the pretty faces, I just never liked having lines down the center of the lips and chin this is nice though. Lastly the dark “eyelash/liner” looks amazingly done.
Now for the males…
- I like how they decided to make a male version on the chibi pinecone face. Afterall if there is going to be an odd ball out-there look it should be available for both genders.
- I would love this face so much more if it had a nose. I know I just said why do plants need noses, but still it seems like something is missing on this one. The cracked look of wood as scars looks sooo bada**
- Eyes look different that’s for sure, I could probably tweak it to get it more to my liking/style so no big deal. The knot on the bread was done very nicely and is a great addition. Plus it is a nice basic “human” face for the males which they didn’t have before.
Overall I love all the new female faces and I’m going to probably switch one of my sylvari to a new face and use the others down the road when I create more alts. I’m a female and I don’t play male characters, so I won’t be using any of the new male faces, but I love the new variety they are adding. Keep up the good work =D

edit it is live just checked here are the 3 new fgaces (pink female/blue male)
the 4th female is just the pine cone face again with the pine cone hair. it blends quite nicely
PS I LOVE the new faces we got!!!!! The pinecone face is so cute imo without the nose lol. Also love the fact that they are asymmetrical. Wonderful job.

I concur, simply because they did a big overhaul on the Fractals. If they want to draw attention to them it should at least be up for 4 weeks. I wasn’t even expecting it to disappear since the last updates were all month long ones (granted I never tried looking for the end date). Seems like a waste to only have the Fractured! achv up for just the one patch, since that is the attention getter/crowd gatherer.
I hope that eventually they make it so you can join your friends in mini games =/
