the solution every thief hater would like to find is make thief useless so everyone can kill them just pressing 2 keys.

i don’t understand. thief is the class with less HP . and max burst damage.how do you not feel the adrenaline rising while battling a thief, one wrong move and you are “dead”, as well as the thief.
then try to fight a guardian/ele: damage, damage, damage oh healing!, moar damage, oh moar healing. 15 mins later you are still there.
when i face another thief i feel the challenging to see who is smarter; ofc im testing new stuff for my thief so i usually don’t have shadow refuge&simila.
do you want agonism? play against a thief…. or we are talking about pve? because pvp = player vs player = brain vs brain.

i payed money just to play pvp so i want to be refounded in someway. even giving me some kind of 30-40€ in gems. assuming everyone has bough the game till now, it won’t matter economy of the game neither black lion trading company, because free users won’t be allowed to use it.
give me my money back and then i can deal with new f2p pvp mode.

even in gw1 you had to buy the pvp account (cost less ofc) to play gvg, ha,ra,ta,etcetc.

TL;DR: J Sharp, do you want to make money? split the game in pve/pvp and let new players buy them at less cost.

Some info about the screenshot below:
It was a 4×5 game with 2 pugs (main team is Radom, Purie and me), our fifth managed to re-connect almost at the very end of the match.
Also, look at the point difference: we were basically farming them after the first teamfight instead of controlling 3 bases and giving them ~500-50.
Aaaaand I managed to make 2 cups of tea meanwhile.

No .. I am not offended by your claims. But that is what they are: Claims. I do however take offense from your primitive assumption in the last sentence. If you can’t see the problem with what you said in the post I referred to, then perhaps go and start with some understanding of what a proof really is. Bertrand Russell could be a place to start.

The reason you get a 4v5 isn’t due to a rage quit. It’s because if someone logs off whilst in the que for a tournament, the que system doesn’t let you I know they are offline or try to replace them. It still thinks they are there and starts the match.

Anet needs to hotfix so it replaces someone after 60 seconds and reques the roster, or at least gives a pop up and let’s the other players know to resubmit.

i don’t mean starting a match 4v5. i always feel bad when i play unfair matches. but when you start a match 5v5 and you end it (end = a score about 3xx – xx) and u see they are 4 or worst 3, well, it is rage quit.
anet should put the surrender button, as in gw1. free tourneys are not srs bsns , so if someone of the team quit i think it would be better having the chance to start again another free.

when i don’t start with friends, i always look at the map chat and look for teams to start frees, with no TS&co.
it is not premade farming. just more experienced players vs less experienced. 99% of the first map matches are rank 35+ vs rank 20- . guess it is the farming you see.

funny fact: pug whine when they face premade opponents, but pugs quit when they face better pugs opponent. oh you!

if you are stealthed and you combo someone, the mug damage trigger the reveal debuff, so cnd won’t stealth u again so you wont use bs, so comboing by stealth is a fail

P.S. HS spam does not kill anyone that has a basic knowledge of the game , since you know it does not do any significant dmg if you have 100% hp it is only useful as a finisher.

ok, as thief i considered the idea of reducing HS range. i think the autoaiming is ok, the damage is SOMEWAY ok. but the range imho, is not so ok. i understand if you cripple a thief or chill him, he will waste initiative just to spam HS, but maybe a little less range (WIKI says: range 450, i just think 400 would be a start , then anet can always go back to initial 450 if it is not good).

or at least try to make it ground target (but aoe damage).

Ranger can use 1h Sword to dodge
Necro can use Death Shroud
Ele can use Armor of Earth of Mist form
Guardain can use one of the 4353453453425345 blocks he has
Warrior can use shield block or endure pain.

mesmer can blink or staff 2 or sword 2, your point?

well you can dodge, you can #2 staff, you can blink

In tPVP you have portal not blink.

You can have no energy and cooldown on weapon swap.

Still I cannot use Diversion to interupt anymore and Distortion when i need. While macro users can use macro with .25 second delay and do perfect shatter and burst everytime.

i am not saying you are wrong, just giving options.
and still , hoping they will be banned, macros doesn’t give advantages if you need to defend yourself. macro users have also .25 delay so they cannot defend/offend action

Thing is that you don’t learn anything by doing the same over and over, especially here. Simply camping 2 shrines with a guardian and a portal mesmer, while the ele is rushing/tanking the 3rd one, is enough to beat 90 % of random teams.

However, the problem for me is clearly the capping system which reduces all my tactics to zero when facing a guild team as a random team. It’s like the match is over if we lost the 1st battle on keep/graveyard/clock.. That’s in my opinion the problem, and not especially the build guilds are running..

how many QP have you?
if what you say is right, running that composition you should win every single match, even in paid. so you should be at high QP, am i right?
because as you state, player skill is not required. just that composition.

an engi cannon class can shot a low armor char in few secs. ofc you don’t see so many of tem because it is a useless build. but doesnt mean it dont exist.

edit: 8k backstab to low armor targets. usually it is around 5.5k
