GS/Rifle…get her to phase 2 and kite clockwise. I felt like it was one of the easiest fights, to be honest. I wish they’d make better enemy AI instead of the one hit kill gimmicks.
I run a condition oriented build in WvW because I find that more effective as a roamer, but enjoy using a Doom sigil. The damage isn’t ultra impressive, but it does deny some health for those people running things like the Healing Signet which adds up over the course of a fight. Leeching is effective also though.
Liadri was a joke. Just a stupid gimmick with one hit kills spammed all over the place. It took me maybe 5m of game time to find an empty arena and kill her. I am, however, sick to death of wasting tickets on bugs.
I’ve completed the 5 Gambit achievement twice and not once have I received it. Instead of awarding me the achievement, it puts me outside of the arena dead. At one point the quaggan disappeared entirely partway through the fight and I was killed instantly for no discernible reason.
I’m done. Until the developers of this game reward me with the achievement I earned and fix the rest of these absurd bugs, I’m not wasting my time on this stupid gauntlet. I don’t even know how this managed to get released.

We’re going to get a Birthday Gift containing a Slice of Rainbow Cake, 5 Fireworks, and 3 Transmutation Stones.
- A random chance to receive the above, available in Black Lion Chests.
Keys 20% off!
It isn’t your fault or the build’s fault that enemies refuse to pack stun breaks and proper stability to deal with warrior. People are simply shocked by the fact that they can’t just ignore the class with their normal setup anymore.
Guardians can be more mobile than a lot of people seem to give them credit for. Leaps, teleports…they can disengage for just long enough to recuperate or keep pressure on fairly well overall. Dagger offers Air 3 and 5 along with Earth 4 as far as CC goes. Even Focus and Staff have some to offer. Guardians also have an inordinate amount of damage negation in the form of selective blocking and protection. I really don’t think they need more mobility.
Anyway, two hard counters to HP over time are poison and high burst. The only thing you have to contend with then is either being outmaneuvered by a good player or outran if they specially chose high mobility weapons, in which case you don’t have to fight them anymore. XD
Healing Signet isn’t any worse than the constant regen + other boons you can stack to high heaven on Eles and Guardians.
This crap is dumb. If I want to sit and play through a dungeon on all of my alts to get however many tokens I need because I put in my own effort to do it, I should be appropriately rewarded. But no, it’s just more time gating crap to virtually inflate content, as was mentioned above. This game is really going downhill with this sort of thing. A little bit I can tolerate but it seems like lately everything is going this direction. It’s just sad.
That’s just it, a number of us do have the time, but find it aggravating that we are unable to actually accomplish something in a decent time because of unnecessary restrictions imposed by the developers. It’s just time gating to get us to play longer.
I don’t think it’s about alts at all. I think it’s about Anet intentionally dragging out playtime as much as possible for players. All of this time gated content and soulbound crap are just an excuse to have us only accomplish a little bit day after day for each and every character we might choose to play. They’re desperate to keep us playing and this is their method.
It’s a pretty good weapon from time to time, though in WvW it always drives me crazy to lose mobility by using it.
At first I thought it was just the gauntlet boss who would white our your screen in such a way, but today I was fighting Dwayna and there were these insane orange and red lights flashing absolutely everywhere during the fight; this crap is going to give someone a seizure.
This sort of thing isn’t “challenge”. It isn’t “fun”. It’s like a younger sibling or your cat coming up and blocking your monitor so that you can’t see your game. It’s a sad excuse not to put any real thought into boss fights and I really hope that the game’s PvE isn’t headed in this sort of direction.
I was explaining my sword/sheild build to a theif the other day cause he swore i was hacking. Heres exactly wat he said. " you kitten hacken nub. No warrior no matter how skilled they are can beat my build. You peice of ****."
All i said was " i kitten the fool who dont dial collect"
This pretty much shows the mentality of the people who insist that warriors are OP now and that a class as cheese as the thief is fine. Entitlement to the max.

A class that can and will disappear and escape at any time doesn’t get to call others cowards.
I hope nobody votes next time because of this. Wow. We should have been able to trade the winning support buttons, not unused vote tickets. Hurrr.
I’m also pretty sure that guardian can do all of those except for cripple and fear.
I’m bad at picking numbers. Like the look, though you could maybe mix in more armor and dye variety just to contrast some. =)

Yeah, you get 400 gems every 5k achievement points. I used my first bit to get the flute half off, haha.
You’re probably going to want some sort of build using Kill Shot from a group. Roaming with one isn’t the best of choices. You can, however, blow squishy heads apart from 1,500 range pretty often if you care to line up the shots from a group’s backline.
This can’t be a serious thread. Not one word about the arm mounted ballista he had or the hidden mace taped to his foot.
Ugh, it’s temporary and they say we need to rush to complete it. This is getting tiresome. Hook people with something good, Anet, this pressured temp content is an incredibly lazy way to retain players
Who would decide who should get the monetary reward in PvE?
Obviously I should get it, being fabulous as I am.
I was hoping the huge kitten drakes which are surely living in the sewers would emerge and wreak havoc on us all.
A shout out to the people I had fun fighting last night. Two condition builds – an engineer and a warrior from SBI, and a GS/Sw+WH warrior from BP. While I won against both former and feel I had the upper hand against the latter before it was interrupted, I may yet make minor tweaks to the build I’m running. Thank you for the good fights. =)
You know though, I don’t see a problem with that. We’re designed to be in melee range. The idea that any class with a ranged weapon should be able to shut us down by kiting us is just silly.
It’s not Rock Paper Scissors. It’s Get Out of Jail Free.
This is exactly my problem with stealth in this game in and the thief in general. This shouldn’t be a thing.
Maybe the tax collector won’t have Stability.
I think it would be a perfectly fine buff to make. If mesmers can get away with stacking multiple cooldown traits on their sword skills, why can’t we get one? This is a great time to ask for more buffs – they’re finally giving us the attention our class deserves and there is certainly room for improvement. The previous tweaks alone will not make us truly competitive once people learn to play against the current meta.
The mace I had taped to my foot helped.
Also Amins and Sil, what’re your playtimes? Don’t think I’ve come across either of you yet in wvw lol. =(
3,119h 2m, apparently. I feel sad now.
Unless you meant when are we on, in which case it’s totally random for me, lol
Pooling all of the gold will honestly be way more convenient for me. I’ve got a number of characters that I like to gear up and drawing from a bank for each of them is annoying.
If they shoot harpoon guns, I’ll take eight. One for each hand. You read that right.
I managed to kill one of those rangers the other day. Took awhile though, and I wasn’t using the “OP” M+Sh/GS.
I’m pretty sure his beard is a ranger bear pet also.
Yeah, I love shooting noobs with my axemace projectiles from 1,500 range. No cooldown either and it cures conditions and regenerates at least 700 HP/s.
I’m pretty sure he also should have spiky Goku hair and maybe one black angel wing.
rofl, I also hold a rifle in my teeth with an axe strapped to my chest though.
Probably 20% off some item nobody cares about. Or, sorry, a random chance to have a discount.
Favorite patch is any of them which tries to make warrior better. =)

Mind you, those that are highly annoying are usually the ones with legendary greatsword…
You see, this is the kind of crap I am talking about. Players sit and you generalize (and insult) people with legendaries while picking out one fringe example of someone botting with a legendary to support their pettiness. I’ve put over 3k hours into this game and made Sunrise, Frostfang, and Howler. If you want to say I’m “highly annoying” in some attempt to rationalize because it helps you sleep at night, that’s on you.
I see a pattern and I love it. Hey thieves!
L2P
Hahahahaha.
I don’t think some of them noticed, rofl
Personally I am much more of a solo / <4 man roamer, so I judge a server’s worth based on their players skill, which BP doesn’t have a whole lot of.
It’s too bad Anet disagrees with you. You should be playing spvp, your railing against people playing this part of the game the way it was designed to be played and then calling them bad is just silly.
Zerglings are bad though. Aside from small group/solo roaming to flip camps, I’ve been having fun baiting the people out of zergs to see who overextends looking for an easy kill.
Now now, it’s not nice to pick on those sorts of people you know.
do you want me to quote it for you?
That is a common misconception because of big numbers, we actually do damage on-par with other classes.
Yeah, sorry, I’ve put 2.5k hours into my warrior, I don’t think there’s any “misconceptions” left.
Oh look, you know how to use the quote function. Now point out where I said that warriors are doing “too much damage” compared to other classes. Oh? What’s that? Here, let me simplify the situation for you: I didn’t say that; learn to read.
(edited by Sil.4560)
Make it and cyclone axe an evade like whirlwind attack on GS, and/or reflect projectiles (maybe traited so that those moves reflect projectiles in addition to evade?)
I know reflecting projectiles has definitely been suggested before. Evading might be a bit much since the attack lasts for so long, but then mesmer has an evade attack on a tiny cooldown too.
I have absolutely no sympathy for any thief crying about this build. None. Zero. Thief has got to be the most ridiculous noob class this game has to offer and people who manage to die as one against a class with such obvious tells when they have that much access to teleporting and total invisibility are losing exactly like horrible players should.
Sell in private.
your comment is pretty funny because you were talking about pure damage and how warrior is doing too much damage compare to everyone else, cof1 is like one of the closest thing if you are talking about pure damage. i don’t even know why would you comment that, i mean..are you trying to play smart, change the topic to something else and thinking that no one will notice or you just lack common sense?..
Uh, no, you read only what you wanted to read. Nowhere did I say that warrior is doing too much damage compared to other classes. Maybe you should go back and read what I actually wrote. So much for common sense.
Warrior players are stuck in this mentality that simply adding more damage on top of everything is somehow the solution to all of these different problems, when honestly the class would probably be better served by getting something different for once. We already do great damage in PvE, with cleave. Why does Axe 5 need more of that? Why not give it something else to make it viable, considering changes to it will also come into play in WvW?
(edited by Sil.4560)
Could we give it other properties instead of just MOAR DMG?
