Could you at least tell us WHY you did this change? It seems so pointless.

PvP was about the only thing that seemed ‘similar’ to GW1, because everything was automatically unlocked. The point for it was, as I remember, to make it competitive, with everyone having the same means.

Can someone please confirm that Hall of Monument skins will still be free to pick up and apply to armour/weapons??? They’re the only skins I use on my <80 characters because all other ones require using stones.

I vote for 50 players per side per map. And please start giving rewards for events: instead of giving chests for killing the champions, give chests for events: defend stonemist? Get 3 chests with badges, rare items and siege.
The problem is that players don’t feel any reason to defend locations they’re captured. You don’t get more points for defending a location than for assaulting one, you can flip for eternity etc etc. It’s just kittening bad game design since day one.

wow is old. teso is wvw. wildstar is – dunno, i havent even got interested in it. so… it’s gw2 all over again.
You should check wildstar. The amount of pvp there is amazing and quite unique.

As a WvWer, I would pay a hefty premium for access to a gem item like this. So sick of crafting the eight professions to 400 which will only net you 56 levels and costs a great deal of money and time. I don’t see the downside to it—once someone already has an 80 that he or she leveled normally, it would save so much effort just to buy an item and be able to hop in WvW ready to go.
There is a large WvW population that I’m sure would be happy to buy something like this. What do other people think?

Ten 80s and I’m seriously fed up with this boring leveling (contrary to leveling in GW1 which was awesome, smooth and didn’t feel restrictive), but I love customizing and toying with looks for different characters.
Well guys you have to admit. It’s a lot better than those instant lvl 80 suggestions you often see.
The frequency at which those pop up does mean something. Leveling is plain bad in this game.

My whole guild just said ‘kitten this’ and went PvE yesterday cause of the giant lagg in 3-way battles. Anet need to get better servers or put a lower cap on the numbers that can access a map…

I think if Anet made the game you want, OP, most of the people playing the game would leave. The very stuff you see as “stuff to do”, I see as a waste of time.
It’s not the the game is bad or good. The game isn’t for everyone. It works for a whole lot of people and doesn’t work for other people.
Pretty much like every other MMO in existence.
You would stop playing if they fixed the PvE meta allowing for roles besides dps? If they made world events and bosses have a meaningful impact on the game word? If dungeons were fun and rewarding? If there was more armor skins to choose from that didn’t come from the gem store? If… give me a break

I used to think about how GW2 would’ve looked like if all AoEs affected both sides.

Actually I’d like to see all stat combos removed and stats given purely through traits (but without fixing them to lines). They make gear an unnecessary grind… if you want an example of what it should be like, go check Guild Wars 1.
Reminds me of a thought i had before the wardrobe system came to be, about being able to use crafted insiginia as consumables to change the stats combo of a existing item.
This because insigina, unlike armor, stack. And being a consumable it would be irreversible and so it would be a resource sink to a degree.
Sure could work in that way aswell. Insignias and runes in GW1 gave ‘stats’ in a very limited way (most of the stats were still given through the Attributes). On top GW1 nearly all runes and insignia’s were very affordable, mainly because they could be bought from NPC’s at a stable price, and were not market-driven (just check perplexity runes in the trading post…). I hate to say it but GW2 looks a LOT like capitalism.
Might just be my nostalgia to a non-grindy Tyria though. xD
As a player that only gets to log in during a specific time due to work and other real life commitments I feel that non-prime players are being punished for not being able to log in during the NA prime hours.
Even people that live in Europe/NA aren’t always able to get on at times like that. The world bosses end at 7pm GMT, while most players I know only log in at hours like 8-9-10 pm GMT because that is the only time of the day we can log.
@Anet: Please understand… we like to play the game too, and it’s really bad to restrict bosses to 3 hours over 24 hours, while most players only have 1-2 hours out of 24 they can dedicate to playing. That means most have 0% chance to participate in bosses ever.

It’s pretty clear they’re going to get rid of servers a la EoTM. They just won’t admit it at the moment in order to keep people from jumping ship right now to the new MMOs coming out.
With megaservers rendering servers obsolete in PvE, servers in WvW is going to be unsustainable — people won’t even know what WvW server they’re on.
The failed EoTM is the future of WvW.
EOTM isn’t a fail, its a very nice map with fun to capture objectives. The problem is that the colours do not mean anything and that it doesn’t affect the score. What they need to do is simple:
A guild should decide to be part of one of 3 alliances of guilds for WvW, they should keep the current match-up going but players should be able to guest on other WvW matchups representing the same side. Well anyway, this is what ESO has done and it works miracle.
I wish there were alliances with a MEANING and benefits for GUILDS. Both are lacking in this game. It’s a total letdown.
I doubt you’ll implement such a thing though as it would effectively remove server transfer fundings.
I’m still rather upset because I don’t WvW a lot, and I just paid for a server transfer, which is now pretty clearly useless for anything but WvW

I have a lot of concerns with this:
- Population: I don’t want 100 people amassing for everything. It makes personal skill redundant and the game laggy.
- Fixed timers: bad idea… instead of every boss spawning at every time, now they are on rotations that take hours (and a lot of people only have 1-2 hours a day to play).
- Social aspect: this really feels like bringing EotM to PvE… and we all know how EotM turned out: a giant blob of people that never talk and just zerg along for gold, gold and more gold.
Too bad if you have a job in the EU and want to daily do the mega-boss events.

Anet, please understand that not everyone plays all day long. As with the community aspect, you are removing player’s choice and that verges on uninstalling.
Please lower the timers to a recycle of 1 hour before the events restart… That way everyone gets a chance.
My concern: zerg fest everywhere. Please tell me this won’t be the case… or I need a new game.
EotM is pretty lame. Karmatraining blobs with players that never interact and will likely never see eachother again.
What we need is simply GvGvG…
With multi-hour queues, I would really appreciate being able to level up an alt or do something meaningful on another character. Right now, switching to another character makes you leave the queue.

All new bosses are zergfests.
