Dont use a sub par build then. If I go pvp naked and get owned im not gonna cry for nerfs. Melee only warrior is crap.
Use longbow+ axe/GS/hammer
Seriously? You want to defend something that is OP by saying “play the meta”?
So everyone who runs something else than meta can kitten off, that’s what you’re saying? I say, kitten you, kitten.
If they implant an more strict afk system , then i want a ‘’class ban’’ option like LoL ! it wont be trolled b the community dont worry !
Decay bar .
Splitted up in three parts (orange-yellow-green area) .
Start decaying from the 100% (casting spells or doing actions
refills it + can stack up to 130%) .You loose 1 decay point every 1 sec (even in death) .
You loose faster the decay bar ( -2 decay points every 1 sec) ,
when the bar is more than 60% .
You loose evn faster the bar (-3 decay points every 1 sec) , if you stay on th base for more than 10 sec .If you reach 0% you get a disshonor .
If your game ends and you have less than 30% decay point(orange area) you get 25% of the total reward .
30%-60% (yellow area) = 50% rewards .Decapping a base +
doing a combo with a friend’s aoe field +
healing/stealthing/sharing boons to a friends =
awards ’’MASSIVE’’ decay pointsGetting attacked by a player gives 3 decay points every sec
(while the bar is still decaying -1) .
Getting nuked by 5 players = 3 points x 5 players = 15 every sec .
The same rules aply to <<dodging>> = evade 5 different ’’sources’’ = 15 points
Using a attack/spell awards points (but not the auto attacks / the downstate auto attack
althought awards 3 decay point with each attack)
Mate, have you ever bunkered a point? You stay standing on one point nearly all match, and occasionally fight enemies, but if you’re good enemies will start attacking other points cause they can’t take yours. So… you’d kick every bunker.
How would you suggest expanding AFK detection?
Please give us a report option ‘Leeching’ like we had in GW1. You can then check player details (did his character move, did he go into combat, were any skills activated, did he damage enemies, was he damaged himself, and more of those criteria) and judge if that player was leeching or not. In the first case send an automatic mail with a standard message: “You have leeched in a PvP match and have been given one charge towards Dishonorable status”.
Nope. Not P/D or S/D: D/D is the spec they run (fought two of them in consequent matches), and yes they have perma evade when using endurance and extra endurance and initiative regen on traits. 3 direct damage builds were attacking the thief and it took near 1 minute to kill it and by that time it downed 2 of us with the insane bleeding (I had 20 stacks, a lot of damage when they have maxed condi).
You can just purchase a razor mouse for some $50 (don’t know exact site), with up to 12 extra buttons, on mouse alone.
Since when thieves became tanky? A bad thief will die in 2 hits, a bad necro/engi/war/guard will die only after 2 hours and still get points from this dumb conquest mode.
Same goes for an Ele, even if they are tanky D/D they cannot sleep while holding a point like those classes can, too much passive defenses.
Thieves have found a new trick… it’s called perma-evade and perma-bleed.
CC spam is a bad mechanic that can’t be removed, they can only give more stability and probably nothing else.
Stability is not the way to go. Who wins then? The one with most stability buffs…
Non-existent. There’s your answer, will save you a lot of trouble if you accept it.
- It’s all about : What majority wants..
And this is what I cannot fully fathom – how can so many players enjoy games that sell them ‘content’ that is not only cheap (read: superficial&recycled) and relies on terrible game mechanics (zerging, mass events), but often enough require additional rl payments for something that is only temporary – what does that tell about those players?
Please, don’t give me the ‘casual’ argument. Being a casual player doesn’t and shouldn’t translate to ‘we welcome any rotten tomatos and potatoes thrown at us with open arms’. How can people be SO lacking in the sound judgement department – so easily tricked – that they will reluctantly stick to what devolved into little more than a P2P in sheep’s clothing is seriously beyond me.
Why do people dish out money for mediocre content in a mediocre game, which is ridden with spam, superficial story, temporary features, lag, recycled content, and has a minigame called pvp, and a mish&mash of pve&pvp that is wvw?I remain absolutely b.a.f.f.l.e.d. and eagerly await the many fanboys in this thread to perhaps try shedding some light on their thought process on this phenomenom (yea, not happening). I think it’d make most interesting a subject to study.
Its called Behavioral Conditioning
Its not a conspiracy, its the result after decades of ‘western’ mass media, commercial and government education.
Basically they are fullfilling their designated role as consumers, while being very limited in their critical thinking abilities and take over and retell agruments from that company, suggesting its them critically thinking but in fact they are just repeating what that company and media branded into their minds.
Just look at the “hype” phaenomena. There, BC is renamed to PR, but the goal remains the same and the results speak for themselves.
Superficial and willing to spend money, thats how most companies want and like their cough ….. “customers”.
Of course, Anet is the exception here ….
So you do something you don’t really like and you do it on a daily basis so you can earn a currency that you can later spend on an item you might like.
Am I describing somebody playing a game here or somebody with a real bad job?
You tell me.

Agree with OP and most people in the thread. It would be okay if they dropped some cosmetics in the gem store, but adding nothing at all (in 2 YEARS) is pretty messed up.
Also, has anyone noticed that they started spamming that you can trade Gems > Gold? Looks like their gem purchases are going down. Surprise surprise.
My (previous) guild quit cause of the tournament and the one before that did too.
Tournament is SUCH potatoed potato.
Make it 10 times as hard to get legendary armor than it is to get ascended.
The only thing that is hard in getting ascended items is to motivate yourself to do ridiculously easy tasks over and over and over again.
How would you make farming ressources ten times harder? If it means ten times more ressources, it would be just ten time grindier. Impressive! That sounds like a real achievement. You should also get titles like:
Legendary Lumberjack, Nemesis of the Ancient Wood Log
Legendary Miner, Destroyer of Ores
etc.
Mate, lets just face it, this game is a joke if you look at items. Challenge is non-existent in any form outside of being a zombie. Legendaries and ascended are part of that grind. So much for no power creep.
If you do want challenge, take a step out of PvE and come PvP/WvW (tpvp/dueling/solo-roaming). Those are some of the most fun parts of the game.

Had this as well on Earthshaker.
After a year of not spvping I have come back. The bunker builds are out of control. Every “experienced” player found in solo and team spvp/tpvp are all bunkers just to hold on the capture points as long as possible. Even on tournaments the majority run high bunker builds. How is this environment considered to be fun?. These bunkers don’t even need to dodge right because how forgiving their builds are within this setting.
Wrong wrong wrong. I play a completely glass build on warrior, ele and occasionally thief. Your stats don’t even matter that much, because a lot of classes have active damage mitigation (shield block, evades, stuns, knockbacks etc). In fact bunkers are quite vulnerable to zerky builds, if you know how to play them.
Never lost more than 3 games in a row (cause I usually stop playing then), but yesterday I had one match, I asked 4mid-1close as strategy but when we went out, 4 of them went straight to close for no obvious reason, leaving me to face 4 on mid…
I figured 2 of them were completely new players, and they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Me and the other advanced player pulled some nice feats though (we killed 4 of the enemy team at a certain point) and we lost with around 440-500 despite having total noobs on our team.
In general: bad luck in teams can happen, just do your best to win anyways, use your tactical insight to attack the right points and your skill/build to win the fights, and you might come out on top. It’s quite possible to beat guild teams (using VoIP) with a pug group aswell, as long as you know what you’re doing and most of your team does aswell.
Wishlist
- New game mode(s)
- Better rewards
- Guild/team facilities
Not a lost cause, I think it’s more along these lines:
- The players bought our game
- Gems are not being purchased enough
- We don’t bring any update of worth
- Player numbers will decrease
- Less servers are needed
- ??
- PROFIT!
I’m not sure if this is what Anet wanted, but I’m thinking most players have either quit playing the game altoghether or quit playing pve (and play pvp/wvw only).
Im sorry….I wouldnt normally reply but id love to know where youre getting your information from, that most have quit and its due to the wardrobe. Its laughable to think that a major plus point of the content patch has driven people away. Its a great addition to the game and in my opinion has helped to draw people back.
I understand the issues regarding the new system compared to the old but in my opinion I think you can use the term ‘greater good’ here. Plus you can still get charges from map completion, a fact many leave out when talking about the wardrobe.
The player you have quoted has been saying people are quitting en-mass since the game opened. The reason why just changes every release. Just skim their post history.
So why is it that of all the people I have known throughout the game, maybe a handfull still play? Whole guilds have left the game.
@Thereon: No, the wardrobe is not making people leave, but the april patch in itself was quite disappointing. Their main addition was the wardrobe, and while it is good we don’t have to unlock the skins anymore, it is pathetic that level 1-79 in PvE have to transmute stuff all the time in order to look cool (because most 1-79 gear looks plain stupid). And I think it’s clear that the one aim of the game is cosmetic, so why bother playing PvE if you are forced to grind transmutations?
GW1 remake? No.
GW1 continued new content releases? YES!
+1
Can we get a GW1 kickstarter project????
I think 2 years is patience enough to let people complain on this without getting told to “have patience”.
This. I have played this game from headstart and since then the biggest complains I’ve seen:
- WvW is unbalanced and uncompetitive
- There is no GvG and absolutely no Guild tools (guild missions are very very basic)
- In SPvP build matters more than skill: condibunk
- PvE is stack and zerg, repetitive and has seen very few changes
- There is no end-game except grinding for legendaries/ascended/cosmetic stuff
All of these complains are true and nothing has changed about it. We had enough patience.
After april 15th I haven’t even played PvE anymore, why do boring content, walk around like a noob when you can transmute looks ONCE in pvp and keep them forever?
I’m not sure if this is what Anet wanted, but I’m thinking most players have either quit playing the game altoghether or quit playing pve (and play pvp/wvw only).
Did you just take a photo of your computer screen?
Screenshotting takes too long!!!!!!
You know what… I actually enjoy running risky builds at the moment. Playing a glass warrior with zero defence, but a hell of damage atm. I pretty much rely on reflexes and timing to finish people, and it works most of the time. It’s fun.
Bunkering on the contrary is very tiresome and boring, and it kinda ruins the feel of GW2’s combat, making it slow and predictable. When I play glass, I feel the power, when I play bunk, I feel… nothing.
could it be the fact the entire game instead of server is now at this event?
It’s something to do with the massive zergs on this events certainly, but impossible to test as one can’t simply do Karka with a smaller group of people.
I think the thing is that either anets own servers or the game client or the internet connection itself cannot handle all that data.
Idk about you guys, but WvW is unplayable for me atm… It used to be a lot better months ago, but just hopped in (yes my pc can take it), and got 30 sec delay every time the enemy zerg came within about 1200 range of ours. I never had this before, but my character was porting mad, skills not working or working after a long time, my character getting hit out of nothing and more of that…
Fix your servers anet.
> COMPETITIVE PVP <
FTFY.
- Most commanders seem more concerned with capturing empty towers and avoiding the enemy at all costs than defending anything we own
You just made me smile. It seems indeed that’s the main occupation of most wvw players… lets face it… this game mode is dead to everyone who isn’t possessed by virtual currencies (#karma, #ectos, #badges).
Ehhhh we’ll probs never see a new race/profession, just saying…
What’s wrong with PvP is that we have tiny little capture points and the fact that one tanky player can totally deny the cap of 2 or more players.
Actually a bunker relies on evading damage. The bigger the point, the easier he can. The easier he evades damage, the longer he survives.
i dont think any PVPer would buy gw3^^
Make a pvp focused GW3, but don’t let it be produced by ANet.
We already have that… It’s just not called Guild Wars
http://camelotunchained.com/
I lol’d. This is a must.
To be fair… Rank 80 isnt any different than having a Legendary. Rank 80 is the “grind” legendary of PVP, whereas Legendaries are for PVE heros. A grind is a grind. All rank 80 says is “I’ve done this before, quite a bit”, but doesnt say “I learned from my time doing it”. It CAN, but it doesn’t directly mean that.
Yes however the amount of rank 80s that are completely clueless are few and far between….
Rank does not mean a thing in my book. I am rank 28 if I’m not wrong, but I spent most of my time before playing PvP in World vs. World, the roaming part of it, not the blobbing.
I learned to control my classes, learned enemy movements and learned weaknesses and strengths alike, and I do believe I’m skilled enough to hold myself in most fights.
Structured PvP in itself does not differ a lot from roaming (solo, 5-man) in WvW. Both ways of PvP involve opportunism: know when to fight, know when not to.
The only difference for SPvP seems to be that you win based on your capping/decapping/holding capture points.
So no, I do not think that rank is a requirement for being a ‘good’ SPvP player.
Support for all of it.
Death
Death is the cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Phenomena which commonly bring about death include biological aging (senescence), predation, malnutrition, disease, suicide, murder and accidents or trauma resulting in terminal injury.1 Bodies of living organisms begin to decompose shortly after death.
Ok so lets count facts:
- Malnutrition… check (living story)
- Suicide… check (cliff-jumping commanders)
- Murder… double-check!
- Predation… Eeeeek! Those quaggans yapping my feet.
- Biological aging… check (new beard-styles now available in the gemstore)
i dont think anet is smart enough to give us one…..
Best argument ever. Lets make them see the light. :p
Here’s our strategy:
- 1 close:
- 3 mid:
- 1 enemy treb (then mid)
If close gets attacked, 1-2 go there, 2 stay mid.
Just play two points and keep the treb out.
If you (and your team members) are skilled enough you always win.
I recently had a talk with a couple of my fellow SPvP players… and we all came to agree on the need and wonder about the lack of a bank in SPvP.
Why is this still not implemented? Is it that hard or do you simply want us to purchase gems…?
There are no ‘most difficult professions’, there are only ‘most difficult builds’.
Hmm, maybe this is a good opportunity to get your feedback on the issue.
I will try to answer your questions as good as I can, from my point of view.
Do we freeze everything or do we throw everyone back into their team spawns and keep the gates locked?
Since in GW2 the score keeps on running because of the capture points, it would obviously need a complete freeze, stopping the point accumulation AND simply freezing all player characters, so they can take no advantage of the situation by decapping/capping strategical points.
Do we add a time window for how long a game can remain paused?
I think a time window is appropriate, because:
1) You need to give the player time to ‘if needed’;
- restart his internet
- restart his game client
- get back into the match
2) Both teams should be able to catch up and prepare for the continuation of the match.
Tournaments are often run on a schedule, do we keep the game clock running while the game is paused so the game will still end around the same time?
I do not know about this in particular. Best to have multiple tournament moderators on at the same time.
If the player comes back, do we just resume the action or do we restart the match?
Resume the action only after the time window has closed (e.g. 5 minutes). Don’t resume it the moment the player comes back, because that could give advantage to the one team.
What do we do when we have to give up on waiting for the player to reconnect?
Continue the match after the time window has closed. If the one team still manages to win with 4 vs. 5, they deserve to go through. If not… well they loose.
How do we handle trolls that disconnect on purpose?
Take a count of people who disconnect on purpose, eliminate them from any future tournaments.
Do we count a disconnect as part of dishonor?
No. Certainly not.
Do we disable progression and rewards for a game that doesn’t finish because of a disconnect?
All games should finish, if you just continue the game even if it’s 4v5.
Do custom arena owners want to be able to pause through a command?
It would be useful for player-moderated tournaments. I think it should be in.
What Spvp needs is this:
a) Progression other than skins:
-> Unlock new gamemodes
-> Unlock new maps to play on
-> Progress in a class: why is there no ‘warrior’ guild, ‘thief’ guild etc, with it’s own area in the pvp zone?
b) Generally more gamemodes
c) Generally more maps
GW1 dishonourable wasn’t half this bad because a) GW1 had better servers and a more stable client b) the timer was a lot shorter
How did this leave front page…?
LOL? Fights influence matches? What did I miss? As far as I ever saw in WvW, the “pro” wvw guilds and commanders were karmatraining and PvDooring around, capping one keep/tower, losing another.
I think the most heard sentence in WvW is: “Oh don’t worry, it’s faster to cap it back than to defend it.”
168. Player housing and guild halls are added.
169. Tengu is unlocked as a new race.
170. Personal story is changed in something similar to GW1.

Ideal scenario:
- PvP = skill-based competition
Guild Wars 2:
- WvW = zergballing
- TPvP = condi-bunkering
If you want better RvR: Elder scrolls online.
If you want better PvP: Any FPS or you could enjoy TPvP.
