I can guarantee you that prices will fall below 600 gold. I just can’t claim when.
Behellagh’s post, while long and quite funny, answer’s the OP’s question. However, I can understand why he doesn’t get it. So I’ll try to make it a bit more simple.
The Black Lion Trading Company is a tool. You are paying “fees” or “taxes” to use this tool. Be it placing a Sell Order, or filling a Buy Order, you are using the tool, and thus are subject to the fees. It’s like going to a vending machine, and buying a Pepsi or Coke. You gotta pay first, not after you press the button and retrieve your soda.
If you don’t like the fees, Anet doesn’t stop you from trying to sell your goods player-to-player via the mail system. You just need to live with the consequences should your “gentlemen’s agreement” fall apart.
When you first purchase it, you need to put them into the bank, login on your other characters, put the item into their inventory bag, then double click to open them on the character you want them to be connected to. If you opened them all on your Mes, they become available only to your Mes now.
So is this thread officially our unofficial petition to convert Zommoros into a slot machine?
Adding to the idea, let’s ask Anet to allow us to put GOLD COINS in addition to Mystic Coins into the Mystic Forge. Talk about a gold sink.
But Ursan, there’s a couple of intangibles that isn’t accounted for in math. And that, my friend, is the fun of throwing stuff into the Forge, and that feeling of the anticipation of waiting for that precursor to pop on your screen. It’s like an addiction!
As someone who frequents Vegas, I wholeheartedly endorse this post.
The Mystic Forge is like Megabucks. I keep throwing Franklins at the machine, and praying that the icons line up. That feeling when two icons line up, and the third one stops half way down…
At least the casino gives me free drinks. This is just highway robbery. I just wanted to vent my disgust in this “luck over skill” system. The March WvW update is all that’s keeping me here now. I’m done with this game’s PvE.
Well, you could’ve always just sold those 4000 rares and bought a precursor outright, you know.
Real quick calculation. assuming 25s each for a rare, that’s 1000G. Son of a biscuit!
But Ursan, there’s a couple of intangibles that isn’t accounted for in math. And that, my friend, is the fun of throwing stuff into the Forge, and that feeling of the anticipation of waiting for that precursor to pop on your screen. It’s like an addiction!
The MF gives you free items for every 4 that you put in. Same thing as a casino really.
As a transitive verb, “Snatch” means to take or grasp abruptly or hastily.
Add a letter “t” to the “Nus” in your name, and you have something naughty.
There is no need to let the botters back in game. A simpler and safer way of controlling the price increase is to make things sellable only once on the TP. You get a drop, if you need it use it, if you don’t, sell it on the TP. The person that buys it just made it an account bound item. This will stop the power sellers from artificially inflating the price on items just to make a profit. You will see prices adjust to the actual supply and demand, not the artificial ones we see now.
There is a reason the real world market is nearly in ruin, why do we want to keep repeating that in the virtual one?
I would like to know how you differentiate between actual Supply vs Demand, and artificial?

Incorrect my friend.
If you have read through the first post, you’d realize this is not the first and is one of many issues I have had with the support. This is merely the most recent. It is annoying that Anet has been unwilling to help in the various situations, even including this which consists of the most simple change. That was the point made.
Anet doesn’t have the Name Change option in yet, and you complain that they won’t help you. Yes it’s a simple request, but one that can’t be made. That doesn’t mean the issues are with Anet Support, but with the requests that you’re asking of them.
The Support Team has helped many players over these past months. Overall, their track record is pretty dang good.
(edited by Smooth Penguin.5294)
The Mini Karka Hatchling was only available from the Consortium Chests. So unless you got a bunch in your bank, you gotta buy them from the TP.
It’s nice that you shared your research, but RNG is RNG. Someone could get much different results due to luck. For example, I’ve been getting more “3 ecto” drops from lv 80 rares with my Mystic Salvage then I was getting with my BLSK.
Delete all your characters, and you can transfer for free. Otherwise, double check the confirmation buttons before you complete future transfers.
Items don’t just disappear. One of the following could have happened:
1) Account hacked, and someone decided to delete that one item
2) You accidentally sold it to the merchant
3) You put it somewhere else in your Bank or Inventory bags.
Side note – you’d need to qualify for an account rollback if you were hacked.

Nope. You only get that response when you ask them to do something in which they cannot. Anet Support has been great.
Anet cannot undo mistakes made by players. And rollbacks are only for qualified hacked account trouble tickets.
I would recommend one of your Guildies to invite you back, and then have the current guild leader re-promote you. Not sure if it works that way, as I’ve never seen anyone leave their guild before. But it’s worth a shot.
I see Mystic Coins as a good way to invest. Sure everyone can get them from daily and monthly bonuses, but the speed in which they can be generated is fixed (unlike Ectos and T6 mats). There are a lot more people who need them for high level crafts, thus will always have a good demand.
You never know what Anet might do. One monthly in the future may require Lv 50 Fractal completions. Prices would surely jump then!
Answer – Anet does not undo mistakes made by players. However, if it were a bug, and you got a different item than what you clicked on, then file a bug report on it.
It’s against the rules for me to hack into your account to find your answer. But I could recommend you looking at your e-mail inbox history, and find something Anet sent. Or, check your creditcard statements, and see which date you made the game purchase.
Dumb me wasted 168k Karma on soulbound armor

You can sell it to the vendor to get back a few silver. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Word of advise for the OP: Use your BLSK on items with a rune or sigil that you really want. The potential ecto drops are just bonus.
So you have to craft 40 master items.
When did laurels start to cost gold?
What will be the impact on the market?
It cost me nothing, and I completed this on the very first day. Although I admit it may cost YOU something, depending on your play style. If you don’t gather while you’re out in the world, you’re losing out.
But that brings up another question. Do you consider the “Gathering” requirement to cost gold too, since you’d have to purchase a sickle, axe, or pick?
Do you consider the “Fractal” requirement to cost gold, since you’d probably need to repair your armor?
Or perhaps you consider the “Mystic Forge” requirement to cost gold, since you need to throw away items to make something?
Did you know that Bunzy, the King of Maguuma has 500k kills already. It’s rumored that he has tiger blood.
It’s sad. People are complaining that “lifetime” achievements take too long. Perhaps this is just the usual sense of Entitlement that causes this. Just like the complaints that Legendary weapons take too long to get.
In GW1, Dragon Rank 15 was only achieved by a handful of players. Epic PvPers like Starcraft, Red, Bloupy, etc. Just because the max rank is there, doesn’t mean everyone will be able to earn it.
Still, you’re just wasting their time. There’s no need to file a Support Ticket, since you won’t be getting your stuff back. There are no rollbacks for mistakes.
It would take way too much man power on Anet’s end to rollback mistakes. That’s why it’s reserved ONLY for account compromises. Even then, you still need to qualify.
Sorry mate, you made the mistake of leaving your computer open, and someone in your house used it. If you try to claim you were hacked, they’ll easily see your IP logs.
And what idiot on the development team pigeon holed Legendaries to PvEr’s only?
What about Pvp’ers and WvW’ers who don’t give a flying monkey’s kitten about PvE’n?
So what, we can’t have access to legendaries?
Get a clue Anet.
It’s not like we’ll ever make enough gold in WvW / PvP to buy one off the Trading Post.
Anet – Epic Fail on WvW / PvP and itemization…
I mean, really, you don’t have to look any futher than Ascended items… where were those in WvW?
At least let us buy them via Karma & Badges.
I’m a WvWer, and I have a Legendary. I don’t understand what you’re talking about.
Is there a way to reduce sepension time
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294
The best way to reduce any suspension time is to follow the rules, and not get dinged in the first place.
No. The programs you listed doesn’t directly touch or affect the Guild Wars 2 client.
The best Commanders are the ones who can lead the biggest Zerg. And the best Zergs are the ones with at least 20 Commanders all bunched up together.
We are planning to add more stat sets and appearance options that can be purchased with badges in the March update. We’re still working on the full list so I don’t want to dive into details yet, but it is something we’re working on.
This makes me happy. I’ll love you in the manliest bro way possible if you did this tomorrow.
I’ve been told that you can use Exotic weapons from Dungeon Tokens to drop into the Forge. That might be the cheaper way if you do speed clears daily.
"ArenaNet’s policy on 3rd-Party Programs" [merged]

Having read the post on ‘boxing and macros I see Anet have created a HUGE loophole the ’boxers who don’t ‘actively play’ can use:
“3. You cannot program a macro to perform the same or multiple actions on more than one account at a time.”
“4. And as stated above, you may not program your keyboard to perform functions on more than one account at a time. "
This sounds great, Anet are trying to ban multi-accounts being driven by a macro .. but it entirely fails to mention hardware/software KVMs and key/mouse ‘echoers’ which can broadcast that single keystroke to multiple processes/PCs.
Thus, it’s perfectly within the ‘rules’ to program a macro that performs one action on one account, while something other than the macro makes it work on other accounts, since the playing of the keystroke on other systems isn’t part of the macro and so isn’t covered at all by this policy statement.
As an aside, with no definition of ‘active playing’ then the whole thing is largely moot.
Oh, yes, I am a ‘boxer, I have two accounts which I sometimes play at the same time. No, I don’t use macros, or ‘echoers’, I use InputDirector as a software KVM, I fully support what Anet are trying to do in banning automated ‘boxers, but sadly this policy statement won’t do that.
Looks like Anet has new to watch.
While it’s been explained already, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you missed the discussion. So I’ll briefly explain why you’ll be banned soon.
You are allowed to multibox more than one account at the same time, but you cannot “PLAY” more than one account at the same time. What this means is that you can jump between accounts (i.e. Alt+Tab for transferring, chatting, etc) only. Once you start controlling more than one account simultaneously through the use of 3rd party programs, that’s considered Botting.
Some players had the misunderstanding that they were “playing” all accounts because it was not being automated by a computer. But if you have one mouse and one keyboard, and that input is transmitted to multiple accounts, that will count as Botting.
I would recommend that you stop using any boxer programs while you can. If you are tempted to use software to basically copy your inputs over two or more accounts, Anet will catch you.
While im gonna try to avoid sharing my opinion on this mather, I find it absolutely hillarious that people worry that legendaries will become to easy to obtain..
Simple fact is legendaries will never again be as easy to obtain as pre-december, and you can bet your sweet kitten that is when most of the people you see running around with them today got a majority of theyr components.
I guees the logic is that newer players should work 10+ times harder to earn theyr legendaries?
You need to work 10+ times harder to even GET a Legendary in the first few months of the game. It wasn’t meant for something to have been gotten that fast. Newer players can choose to go that path and work their butts off, or just play the game normally to get the Mats needed to craft a Legendary over time.
The question then, is when people spend them on gem store items, do the spent gems go back into the currency pot? It would have to be the only way that pot is kept fluctuating outside of people purchasing gems and exchanging them for gold.
If the spent gems are not going back into the pot, what you’re then saying is that people are buying gems and exchanging them for gold SO much that the amount of gems available is visibly fluctuating hour-to-hour instead of just consistantly going up as people buy gems from a fixed source. I find that hard to believe. Not saying its impossible because it clearly isn’t, its just very hard to believe.
There is no overall Gem/Currency pot. When you make a Gem purchase with real money, it gets created. The pot that we’ve been talking about is the “Exchange Pot”.
Please see Behellagh’s post above, as he provides an illustration of how it works:
The Gem store is separate. Gems used there just disappear.
The question is whether the funnily high drop rate is a bug and it will be fixed later (increasing the rarity again) or whether it will stay low…
Since the drop rate before this patch was zero, I don’t think it will be adjusted. It is still a very low drop rate, but now that it actually is on the drop possibility, it’s showing up. Tens of thousands of players do that event every day. It will drop.
A dev stated that it would take 10 players 7 months of farming for it to drop. I’m not sure this new drop rate is correct.
Take your 10 players, and convert it to the thousands of players now farming that event daily across all servers. That would explain why there are “so many” on the TP.
Off topic slightly and just an early observation, but Heavy Moldy Bags seem to be dropping much less now. The price is shooting up. T6 mats are shooting up.
I wonder if John might be willing to confirm/deny any adjustment?
Though I haven’t visited Orr myself, I’ve read several posts complaining that there are a lot more Champions in the Orr events leading to less loot. Perhaps that is the reason?
I was doing Plinx runs last nite, and noticed less bags, but a lot more T6 drops. But that might just be individual luck.
I think it’s hilarious that the exchange has only inflated one-way: it costs more gold for gems, but the rate of selling gems for gold is the same as usual. Where’s the logic in this?
There’s an artificial buffer built in, to prevent the Gem Exchange from being like real life Currency Exchanges. Meaning, you can’t just park your butt for 8 hours buying and selling for profit. Also, there’s more dangers with real time currency manipulation, as it’s much easier to do than manipulating market prices.
So if I exchanged 100 Gems for 2 Gold, I couldn’t just wait for a spike and exchange 2 Gold for 105 Gems. Then wait for drop and re-exchange 100 Gems for 2 Gold, and so on.
and it’s hard to tell which one Mr. Smith is referring to, since he drops into troll mode when the conversation veers towards private information only he has.
You’re right, that response isn’t necessary. I’ve gotten a bit frustrated sometimes when I spend time to come here and talk to people and get a lot of accusations, but that’s not an excuse for having a short fuse. I apologize and will be more tolerant in the future.
The fact that you come in and share information, even with a touch of sarcasm, is much appreciated. Plus, it makes you more connectable to us players when you don’t talk like a corporate robot. Troll on, my friend!
Side note – I do miss the “Post Here to say how awesome John Smith is” thread.
Did they fix the bug where the WvW outmanned +30% Karma buff doesn’t stack with the +50% Karma buff?
And I wish I could do something with all the extra Account Bound minis you can get.
Anet looked into both sides of the discussion, and found that the name’s OK. This is why I love their Support Team.
Although I would like to know if the Japanese racial slur Gaile’s heard about is just spelled similar to “Nipper”, or just sounds similar.
You need stacks of Ectos for many things. Clovers, Legendaries, and Infusing Ascended gear to name a few. Ectos are one of the things that will always be in demand.
Even if there were a small price drop, the cheap Ectos would be gobbled up quickly. And if people are willing to buy Ectos at the current prices, what seller would offer theirs for a lower price?
However, I do hold onto the wish that I’m wrong, as I need to buy another 750 to 800 more.
Nipper is a lesser known racial slur for Japanese people.
Which is only applicable if there is a context. In this case there is not.
So I’m guessing you think Anet should allow the “N” word that people use to refer to African Americans, if only because a player doesn’t mean it in a bad way? Sure that word is Spanish for black, so it must be ok in that context?
Realize that all it takes is one player to find offense in it, and report the name. Be it a cute slang for nipples, or the use of a racial slur, and Anet will take action. If the name passes the Support Team’s internal vetting process, then the OP gets to keep the name. If not, then he has to change it. Simple as that.
1st
When somebody uses the infamous “N” racial offensive word that people refer to as not just African American, but also as lower class citizens, the default context is the racial offensive meaning. There is no other definition that could be default without any context suggested or stated. Not only that, but nobody is going to believe that you were using the word for a different context, and will in all aspect find it offensive, unless you’re also talking to a fellow brother, but you certainly wouldn’t talk that way in a game like this, it’s against the rules. You never know if somebody whom is eaves dropping will take offense or not. However as for Nipper, in no way is the default context or meaning referring to as a racial offensive meaning or context. This is the difference between chalk and cheese really.2nd
You can appeal this, and some have been successful in an appeal. Honestly saying this is a matter of racism is a joke at best.
As I said earlier. All it takes is 1 person to be offended, and then click on the report button. Doesn’t matter if you feel the name is harmless or not. Heck, I’m Japanese myself, and I don’t take offense. That doesn’t change the fact that it may be offensive to others. What really matter is how Anet views it. If the Support Team feels the word is ok, then the OP is safe. If it’s a gray area, and feel it may insult Japanese players, it’ll be blacklisted.
Side note – Anet already had to censor all Asian themes in the game. That’s why there’s no more Cantha-town (aka The Great Collapse).
Increase in Supply does not equal decrease in price. So long as the Demand for Ectos increase faster than the Supply, prices will continue to rise.
Let me have a crack at explaining this.
When people convert their Gold into Gems, the exchange rate gets worse. It could go from (1 gold = 80 Gems) to (1 gold = 74 Gems) to (1 gold = 68 Gems) etc. etc. The more people who exchange their Gold, the less Gems you get. Another way to view it is the less Gems there are in the pot, the more expensive they become.
On the opposite end, when the above example happens, Gem to Gold rates get better. So we could have (100 Gems = 1.50 gold) to (100 Gems = 1.72 gold) to (100 Gems = 2.04 gold).
Theoretically, the Gem pot could empty. But that will never happen, because there will always be players who are willing to buy Gems with real money, and convert them into Gold when the rates are good, thus refilling the supply in the pot.
Note – there is an artificial spread in the difference between Gold to Gems, and Gems to Gold. This is meant to create a buffer to prevent people from treating the in game exchange like a currency market.
ps – I could care less about how many Gems are available at any given time.

If you were hacked, submit a ticket using the “Ask a Question” tab on this page: http://support.guildwars2.com/
As for a rollback, you need to qualify for one, and that takes research on Anet’s part.
I just think it is kinda stupid that if I have been playing the game for a while and want to use my in-game rewards for some of the sales – especially if a market exists to turn my in-game rewards (gold) into gems – that I basically can’t take advantage of the sale. It’s like Anet is giving a discount to everyone EXCEPT the people who put a lot of time into the game. For someone who has played a lot and is on the verge of quitting (i.e. due to culling in wvw, tired of the gear grind, etc.), this could just be the last straw.
I’m just saying it would have been nice for Arenanet to freeze the exchange rate for a day or two so they don’t screw over their loyal player base who don’t want to have to sink more money into a game or can’t afford to.
The sale is meant to encourage people to buy gems. They aren’t screwing anyone over, any more than a store is “screwing over” a regular customer who can’t make the trip on the day of a sale. By exchanging gems, you’re already getting something that has a real-world monetary value for free. That’s a 100% discount.
While there are people who have a strong sense of Entitlement, I’m glad they are a minority. I’m slowly getting used to the fact that these people will always complain that stuff isn’t free enough.
Nipper is a lesser known racial slur for Japanese people.
