Why are you other classes playing the same victim game when you complain about thieves? I have acquired the knowledge in dealing with them in relation to my build, why can’t you all instead of asking for nerf? I know you are not asking for a nerf in this thread but it happens too often.
stealth thief can do 14K damage with a backstab.
My ele has 11K health
If they would run in completely invisible they can finish me with one hit without me even knowing that they’re there. Or should people AoE around themselves constantly at all times?
Really the biggest problem is not that the damage is too big, but that stealth is cheap.
Problem is your ele has 11k.Any thief can try to backstab my ele, eventually i will kill him (at least most of the thiefs i have seen).
No, I want to inspect everything. From traits, gear, and skills. Everything from the ground up.
When the party members ping their build onto the chat, I can fully utilize this information. Is that elementalist a bunker or support? Should I use this warrior as a backline or frontline? Etc etc.

Because basing difficulty of the game on a very tiny (even if equally loud) minority that will finish any content in hours anyway, and then cry there’s no endgame is not really a good strategy in a game that was advertised as catering to casuals.
That very tiny minority was like 50% and more of playerbase that left this game for good and they would give more money in long terms. Casual will just go to another casual game.
And what about pvp? It was advertised as pvp also.
Why should less people be equally effective as more people? That doesn’t even make sense.

This boss is not hard, its extremely easy. Use your reflection and block skills and move all the time. A mesmer, ele or guard can help in lvl40+, but dont needed.

Learn to play, warrior has block skills.
Because builds don’t equal skill. And in PVe, even if my build isn’t a “standard” build, it works quite well for me.
In Guild Wars 1, people used to ask me to ping my build, after which they wouldn’t accept me in their groups. So I’d go solo the content with heroes, come back and wave at them, trying to build their group.
A lot more people out there think they have a clue than actually have one.

I wouldn’t call Rampager pathetic on damage – you have as much pure damage as a knight, plus full condition damage. You end up with 19K bleeds on top of raw damage.
You can do 19k bleeds with wayfarer.

The best thing for pvp would be to change hotjoin system, make it like lol, you enter match if you leave you get some punishment (not joining another for 15 min or something) and you get rewarded on end for winning not just farming (like 2x glory or something if you win) so people will finally learn to play maps, not just zerg.
Tournaments need to be like: solo queue = free tournament, premade (3+ players joining together) = paid.
Stealth is an ok mechanic, if thieves go down quickly and easily without it….
They do, people that complain need to learn their class, every class has some trait to counter thief burst.

I loved this game for a few months, then I kept playing this game b.c I felt obligated due to guild and such. I finally stopped playing for a few weeks but wouldn’t mind coming back if there is actually anything worth doing. I was mostly a PvE dungeon player since I hate the PvP in this game (capture the point is the lamest excuse of PvP imo esp since everything is bunker). WvW infuriated me as it was nothing other than a zerg and lag fest. So is there anything worth doing in pve?
Please don’t say farm a legendary, did it once but only got the precursor due to a rabbit’s foot, wrapped around a horseshoe, inscribed with 4 leaf clovers, happened hop on by. My precursor dropped in the MF… for my friend. He then sold it to me in exchange for making his legendary. Not going through that bs ever again.
Fractals are still joke, there were some “fixes” but they probably didn’t even test them. It’s getting harder to find 40+ lvl groups. There was some story dungeon wich was nice (probably cause it was not made by dungeon team) but only for 2 weeks, another one is coming on 28th. Legendary is still CoF grinding, TP flipping thing.
One takes talent and skill, the other takes time. I will always gravitate towards rewarding those with the talent and skill over the people mindlessly farming content for hours.

They want the exact opposite of what you are claiming, all these changes were made exclusively and specifically to get more ppl to babysit towers and keeps, because the warning of attack from the automated systems is heavily delayed. To the point that a keep or tower is all but lost by the time it actually pops up.
If they don’t want it they need to remove that 5 min debuff on capture.
This is to deal with exploiting more then anything. Imagine two zergs chain-capping a keep from eachother, just letting it happen. Two guild composed zergs for instance.
Powerleveling an alt would be rather easy if you pick up more then half a level every minute.
Or farming ludicrous amounts of karma + the coin you get for the cap. And karma can be turned into stuff aswell with Orian lockboxes, also worth money. Not to mention WXP farm.The potential for exploits is to high if keeps, towers and camps could instantly be recapped.
Then they need to prevent exploits or player need to stop complaining about zerging and blobing cause it’s the way you WIN in wvw. (1 big zerg, 2 small groups 5-10(max) players to cap camps, put swords on towers away fromm zerg + some scouts is all you need)

However, servers are getting more competitive and more balanced(compared to the release of the game) where they don’t even need Siegerazor anymore.

it was cheating to go on over level 50 fotm, because for one thing you needed revive orbs. It was not survivable.

I would honestly rather wait 20 mins – 30 mins for a match queue to pop up then get another 2-3 <r10 in the same team vs a full r40+ Premade team.
This. At least gives us ability to leave tourney match (with punishment of course, like not being able to join spvp for 30 min or something) so i can do something else when it’s 5v3 or 5v3+2 warriors.

I would add a boss or two in many dungeons that have a constant aura around them that ticks away at your health which is mitigated only by toughness, so your team would NEED healing/regen type supports at least to survive and the more glass cannons in the team, the more support would be required.
Example a full berzerker geared character would take enough damage that heal skill alone and a few dodges would not be enough alone to outpace the damage from the aura (but a maxed toughness guy would break about even or close) but good support with regen, or engineer/guardian/elementalist type healing builds would make up for zerker shortfall in toughness to allow them to survive.
Then you will want a few encounters here and there which CANNOT be melee’d and some others that cannot be ranged, or immune to certain damage types. Enough variety that one specific team will not be the best at everything
Hmm, then meele zerk warrios can just switch to ranged weapon or their secondary toughness gear simple.
Reasons to defend a tower
I think a problem is: it gets boring quite fast to defend a tower when no one is attacking. WXP for repairing is only a small step to reward you for staying. Some spontaneous ideas:
- if you take a tower a skill-challenge spawns in the tower. So there is an activity which keeps you there for a while. This is only a small addition and wouldn’t be enough, but a first step.
- when you take a tower follow up events spawn in very close proximity to that tower. examples:
- collect pieces of rubble (collect event) – reward: Karma, Gold, A random piece of loot + all walls auto-repair slowly.
- train the staff (similar to the southern Queensdale training heart-quests; you train NPCs inside the keep by using environmental weapons) – reward: Karma, Gold, a random piece of loot + stronger NPC-guards.
all in all there could be 10-15 different activities per keep – some of those unique to the specific keep where you are. This would keep a lot of people in the proximity of newly taken keeps and would make it easier to defend those from zergs.

And i always laugh at players that pretend to “defend” tower, they just stay there and wait till our or enemy zerg comes and leave to “defend” some other thing. Seriously leave the spot for someone who will do something useful.
What’s up all. I’m back from a long hiatus, it’s been 6 or 7 months. This past week I started playing again.
I gotta say, I’m really shocked at what I see. All the zones are empty, as in I’m lucky to run into 2 other players in a zone and I’ve been running through level 30-60 zones (trying to get a second level 80).
What happened to the open world? It’s barren. I know I didn’t like how hearts and dynamic events were all the same couple events skinned differently, but I didn’t expect that the majority of the playerbase would stop doing the bulk of the games content.
What’s the playerbase doing now?
Camping open world events that give carrot and some optimists still do pvp.
I agree with OP, some of the best builds are those with traits for 10/20% dmg when downed and just going down 20+ in dungeons, it’s pure sign of great player!
Not on easier dungeons, but on higher lvl fotm and cof farming yea. (in high fotm you can get in group, but only if they already have guard and another guard is not whispering party leader)

Best change for warrior would be that you get some NPC/Bot instead of him (in solo queue)
They are just chasing events that gives you carrot.
One role can be to fight like warrior, other can be to guard and 3rd something like mesmerizing enemies and helping allies. Guess we can have roles…
