I love my guardian ( my first toon) but ive come to realise that its far better and rewarding to play a class with a Dev that actually cares.

Seeing as most of the “class mechanics” for every class is predominantly based on their traits, i dont really see how playing from level 1-20 helps you learn the class better. I will be using tomes to level 46 (wont let me type forty five…weird) so that i can unlock 2 trait lines. Then i will play the rest of way normally. I’m highly confident i will know the class just as well going from 45-80 normally as if i leveled from 1-80 normally but it will save me the boring killing bunny rabbits with no traits stuff.

Yup that was you. I believe you were the only one on your team with points. And at the end you were running a circle around the mid point while your necro buddy was hanging out with us.

Anyway here’s hoping Anet does something about this so it doesnt ruin the pvp experience for others.
Ive been in proper premade team vs premade in ranked and its possible to come back from 100 pts down often but it saddens me when people in a pug group just quit as soon as they are 80 or 100 pts down.

I was a shoutbow warrior trying to stop the lord rush before the truce was called……firefield from longbow probably made you mistake me for ele. My guildie was the necro. Cant remember what class the 3rd member of our team was.
I managed to stop the first couple attacks since it was just 1v1 (well the lord helped me hah) but it was useless since we had no points capped and i was forced to defend lord.

I queued ranked match last night with a guildie and we were in a team of 3 solos and my guildie and me. We came across a well organised team that got the score to 100-20 pretty quickly. Then one of our team disconnected (not sure if it was intentional or not but he never came back). Then 1 min later another member of our team shouts in map chat “Enjoy the 5 v 3” and quits (Alt-F4) the team.
I mean seriously whats wrong with these people?
The remaining 3 of us continued to fight but it was hopeless 5v3 and very quickly the score was 350 to them. The enemy team felt sorry for us and called in map chat "truce so we can finish the game with a lord kill? (was legacy foefire map)
Lets get a proper dishonor system in place please.

For a class that is supposed to use a lot of blocks im highly disappointed that we are seeing more and more “unblockable” skills/traits.
I suppose its the same way that thieves have stealth and there is more “reveal” skills appearing.
Oh well… its just a whine post. Not sure anyone will care or do anything about it.

Rousing resilience is lousy in a sense that it requires you to break a stun for it to go into effect, meaning that you have to get CC’d, then using a stun breaker. It’s very situational and certain stun-breakers such as endure-pain can’t even make use of the 1000 toughness gain. It might have it’s use in berserker specialization with the self inflicted stun and short stunbreakers, but it’s hard to make use of this once you gain stacks of stability.
TLDR Rousing resilience is still terrible.
I agree on the stun break but unless they fixed it Balanced stance would proc rousing resilience even without being stunned and the buff is to healing which is now over 2500hp vs 1100 hp pre buff. Thats pretty good.

So with the buffs to both of these, they are now viable alternatives to Cleansing Ire. Which one would you recommend for a GS/Hamm or GS Axe/Shield build?
I like both and have found uses for both. The buff on heal of RR is very nice. But then again stability is awesome.

ive been in my fair share of one sided matches where its 300/100 against me….i hate it but i still continue to fight. Maybe when it gets to 470/300 and i just got stomped i may end up just sitting at spawn (go grab a drink) but other than that i keep fighting and trying to learn.

Shield with shield trait, shattered aegis and pure of heart is very good support for you group in WvW. (Can take communal defenses instead of shield trait if you are in a BIG group)

I agree that the ice bow nerf was kinda over the top. But the frequency of application on burn was def needed when you compare with guard Judges Intervention for example did 3 stacks of burning once on a 36sec CD. And they have to use up a heal utility to do that burst also. Ring of fire gave 3 stacks of burning for 5 sec EVERY time someone cross the ring or was knocked out of the ring and on a 15 sec CD.
I also think that removing might on cantrip was a bit too much also. I mean 3 stacks for 15 sec was a lot but maybe 2 stacks for 10 sec would be ok. Removing completely seems overkill.
Overall statement of a build should have sustain or damage but not both is valid.

2.5k and if you break stun with shake it off with shout heal you get a pretty decent HP recovery.
Thats the way i read it and if its true im super happy about this. 2.5k hp heal on every stun break is sweeeeeet.

that’s actually wrong. gs/ham warriors have one of the best chances to beat fire eles out of all the berserker builds.
Show me any videos where a GS/hamm war beat an equally skilled DD ele please because if that was the case you would see a lot more of them in tournaments “countering” all those 4 Ele teams.

No they didn’t, cleansing had to be nerfed on ele not burning. Burning had to be a global nerf.
im glad you’re not on the balance team then. It was the Ele’s constant access to burning application that was the problem. And Anet seems to have fixed that. The bugged ring of fire that gave a million stacks every time you moved etc which meant condi cleansing was a waste.

If you had problems against a guard or warrior as a d/d ele it was certainly a l2p issue. DD ele hard countered GS/Ham warrior so easy.

i use zerk rifle in wvw when im following a zerg and with crack shot of course i get plenty of 10K+ kill shots. results in quite a few bags. With 2600+ power, 85% crit chance (with fury) and 205% crit damage, the damage pressure via piercing shots into a zerg is noticeable.
I use burst precision to have guaranteed crit on killshot also. With berzerkers power trait my Volley does 20% more damage after killshot.
All in all i enjoy rifle in wvw group fights.
I wish i could take warriors sprint and crack shot though.

OMFG im so freaking excited…….thx so much. I love using shield (with axe or mace) so this is a huge buff for me.
I also liked using rousing resilience on some builds so a 130% buff means over 2500hp heal on stun break!!!
And rifle well i like sniping zergs with my rifle so a buff on that is more than welcome.

Shoutbow is pretty easy but not as strong as it was before the latest patch. More support now and less dps.

i struggle to see why Anet will not devote some time to putting duels in place. Would make the game so much more fun and another way to test builds instead of going into WvW or a random pvp match.

I would like to know why some people are defending this. Say an ele gets stuck between a mesmer, a theif and a marauder engi with no way to get away, They CC, immob, coordinate a spike but suddenly the already hard-to-kill ele get’s vamp rune invuln, survives the burst, heals up. Grats, the vamp just carried the match. Or say a mesmer or a thief running marauder amulet is out of position and gets spiked down. Instead of being punished for their poor gameplay, they get invuln, move to the team, get healed, and bam- the game just became about 30 times easier to play even with full squishy specs.
Exactly….i tested this on my guardian in spvp the other day and as you said even if the stats are not what i really want, i was able to avoid a number of damage spikes when i was being focussed. Its much more useful on an Ele which is already hard to kill as it is.

ive actually been taking advantage of this exchange rate and converting gems to gold. Im a casual player that likes to pvp and Wvw. i dont really farm dungeons or that much silverwastes for gold. So the occassional gem to gold conversion ensures i have enough gold to buy the things i need off the TP.
a few weeks ago it was over 430 gems for 50gold. last week i was able to get 50g for around 260 gems.

Come to T1 where there are no daily GvGs but just large small scale combat.

I think confusion is fine. The issue as I see it are certain skills that add too much of it for to long.
Isnt that what everyone is kinda saying in all the QQ posts for the last few weeks.
Replace “confusion” with “burning” or “torment” and we have the same issues.

I have another account that’s in tier 4 and I can literally afk outside keeps for half an hour and not get killed. So don’t wanna go belbow t3. In tier 2 during those hours it’s hard enough to find fights.
but the OP considers anything more than 20 people a blob. So forget T1. I started off in TC and only just moved because it was BLOB WARS 2 over there in NA prime time.

Pity that the rev’s only weakness is condi cleanse and we just happen to be in a Condi Meta for how long now?

Search the forums for all the QQs about DIRE gear in WvW and you would have a general idea of how powerful it would be in PvP.

I’d be ok with +condi and -condi food to be removed.
And for the record i play hybrid guard in wvw and use +condi food so its not just a QQ. It would hurt my build also.

Might be worth posting what times you play and what style of play you are looking for maybe some people can give you some advise on which server is best suited for you.
as stated above. tell us what you like to do, zerg, roaming, havoc??? and what time?

I agree with most of the posts here. Condi class builds are more of a problem when an inexperienced player meets one. Or as i suspect, many players may still be playing glassy burst builds with no stability or condi cleanse.
Shout guard and shout warriors have no real problems facing condi classes. Have one or both in your team and you can drastically reduce the effectiveness of your average condi playing team.

Warriors have quickness. “heightened focus” if it is not on CD, they just need to auto attack you once to proc the trait and then stomp you.

I play warrior and guard. Pure burn guards are pretty easy to play against when im on my war. Its a one trick pony which is why i prefer to play hybrid medi guard. That way if i come across a condi transfer team or condi cleanse team at least i have some physical damaging ability as well.

that map is so freaking boring/annoying unless you are in a premade. I never choose it when solo q.
And then if you are in a premade vs a non premade its even more boring when you wipe the floor with the other team.
