Anet is mostly a company based in america, and like any competent Online business, when they send a patch over it happens on their “work hours” and not in the middle of their night where if something goes wrong, 90% of the company is at home or asleep.
To be honest I strongly suspect a good number of the pver “whiner” posts are troll posts.
its not “pvers” remember there are thousands of people playing this game at a given time, more specifically its certain people on the forums who like to complain and make it seem like an issue when it really is not especially with common sense.

You are going to be matched up with all servers of your colour that week.
You will have hundreds of allies but also hundreds of enemy players. The enemy players will try to kill you, because to them your a walking loot bag…no offence…I will be a walking loot bag to the other 2 enemy colours.
Its fun.
You may die a lot but you will eventually get your achievements done and who knows you may like it and have fun.
WvW players will have a advantage, as they will be used to the fighting in large zergs, also some are excellent at using siege weapons and they do not care about achievements or living story. So there main aim is to farm the enemy zergs for loot bags.

If I wanted faceroll easy kills that spit out free loot I would be playing PvE. Bringing PvE’rs to WvW can only decrease the quality of the fights.

From what I have seen is a server only starts to play “for fights only” when they are so badly beaten they don’t even want to try.
I think every server has commanders that have that for fights mentality. I miss the days when you were considered a bad commander for heading to the opposite side of the map to follow orange swords when you don’t even own the keep on your side of the map. Or when you see both server fighting in one corner of the map but not capitalize on it by capping stuff on the other side of the map.
You know, forcing the home bl server to fight 2v1.
However, you get a bunch of whiney servers getting beat so bad they start “playing for fights only” and scurtinize those who don’t (even though they are playing the game as intended). Thus promotes this “too cool for PPT” group because there will always be more losing servers than winning.
What a horrifying view in the ppt mentality, I know that there are people in blackgate that do not share this mentality so please people dont take it at face value

Almost no servers have WvW ques anymore except maybe on shuffle night and thats it so how is this any useful anymore.

Btw surely this won’t allow your fellow guildies to play with you. If there are countless overflows around no way you can get in the same one as everyone else. GvG will be impossible to organise so don’t get over excited.
I assume you can still join just like the current Overflow system, and thinking about it, I think if a guild of 20+ people join around the same time theres a good chance they will be in the same overflow as 1 overflow is probably holding slots for about 80 + people although I dcould see some late coming guildies getting lost in other overflows if yours gets full
organizing a gvg though with another guild trying to get in the same overflow will likely be impossible, I expect once EOTM will be released people will be asking for an all NA linked version of the GvG arena, although how you all meet up in the same overflow will still be difficult

hes supposedly plays on NSP but hes hardly been seen or even comments on the forums, hes likely trying to delay/prevent EOTM as that will ruin his dreams of “server competition” with the server imbalances and his precious seasons as well, imagine him pushing for a season 2 but no one caring about ppt, they just wanna play, kill, have fun

January 9th was the end of our public testing of the new Edge of the Mists Map. This was our first time inviting people to play a portion of our game in active development and without NDA restrictions. The people playing the map and providing their feedback helped us make several important decisions while allowing us to test the new content in as close to a live environment as possible. It is not an exaggeration to say we couldn’t have brought the map to the quality level it has reached without their help!
To pull out a specific example, our original plan was for each matchup to have its own version of the new map. As we tested out the map with various numbers of players and spoke with the members of the test, it became clear to us that the ideal approach was to group all of the NA players into one group and all EU players into another: meaning that all NA blue worlds will fight side-by-side with each other on the blue Edge of the Mists team. These kinds of decisions, and others, were ones we couldn’t have come to without getting the map in front of the large number of players that we saw over the course of the test, and without your feedback on the official forum!
When the Edge of the Mists does release, I hope everyone here is as excited to play a map that your fellow WvW players helped create as we are.

Very interesting information, basically you have the oppurtunity to fight with or against anyone other than your own server

SoR’s WvW guilds are in the process of relocating. Those of us that are staying are hopeing to drop to Silver league.
I dont think this is quite accurate, from what I hear the guilds that wanted to move have already moved and everything is back to normal, but thats already going off topic, most servers are on very full anyway

So, I came back after playing other games, let’s try how GW2 is these days. Rolled a dps warrior, went to do a PvP daily.
Got to a 1v1 match.
Spotted a thief a behind a corner, I was expecting him but I had meelee weapons equipped and I didn’t want to switch to avoid the switch cd. I started running towards him to engage in meelee. Then something happened and I was dead. In about a second.
Checked log. Cluster bomb 5k, Backstab 8k, 2x Cloak and dagger 2,5k apiece.
ggGranted, I was trying out new weapon combinations and I didn’t play (GW2) for quite some time but this is not okay. Having some freaking 1v1 1-second ttk predators is not cool at all.
I am not even going to bother finding out how this is “reasonable” or “doable” according to gear and traits available.
I am moving to next game. Hopefully this will be different when (if ever) I come back… I feel very disappointed.

Forum posters =/= entire community, also this “community” is actually a hell of alot more tame compared to other mmo communities, especially smaller ones where theres less control and moderation, not to mention Sc2, or god forbid the massive League of Legends community, the official forums alone will horrify you or get you auto infracted by super strict mods, then you see the unofficial forums

whats your timezone? I personally would suggest sanctum of rall as it gives you around the clock fighting but has the least number of people compared to BG, JQ and TC, but if you want it easy but queed, then there are. um..is a server that will happily pay you and more to transfer to them
