I do play unranked, but to say “do this because this isn’t working as good as it could be” isn’t a very good argument.
its true custom arena population is really low, and so the benefit to improving them would be pretty minimal. as I don’t know anything about programming, I have attempted to put forth a couple “quick” improvements that could go a long way for those who do play them.
I would even go so far as to say that some custom arena problems have over time led to its eventual demise. I would also like to say that improvements to the mode could lead to a small revival, although again it would most likely be improbable and minimal. however, I personally don’t substitute probability for hope.

I cant help you but I know the feeling:

first, the scoreboard popping up at the end of the match. definitely number one. it gets in the way of good fights more often then not.
second, custom arenas and spectator mode. please. disable. spectator. team. switch. people fair weather to the winning side as soon as its clear which side is going to win. making it so people can still join spectator but not team switch would be a huge improvement. it wouldn’t fix everything, but oh my god it would be so nice.
third is a bug. when you die in custom arenas then join spectator, rejoin your team, sometimes you are put into permanent down state and cant respawn.
last is a suggestion for improvement. in custom arenas, its often the case that one side will have bandwagoners that stack every match and roll the other side. its not healthy or fun for either side to experience landslide matches for 4-7 matches in a row. perhaps giving increased rewards for a member of the winning side to join the losing side would be a decent incentive to equalize the teams and create better matches for everyone. ofc you would have to work it so someone cant join losing side then afk in spawn or spectator. which, combined with the possibility of the losing side getting a not so skilled team switcher, makes this idea not so great! idk though, it would be really nice to have something to make players want better match quality.

server chat is a great idea. I’m thinking they could maybe separate it by region: so ascalon, kryta, maguuma etc. then wvw could have its own 4 map wide chat channel. that would be awesome.

honestly judging by all the hostile monsters packed in all the continents I don’t see much room for passive creatures. they get eaten.
I’m guessing the humans are bogarting some for their cavalry “charges”.
necro in wvw worked for its well bombs.
with hot came resistance, and there is no reasonable way to strip it. everyone is running around pretty much immune to 3/4 of the skills thrown at them.
necro in pvp is vital for the boon corrupts vs bunkers. they are the best at maintaining weakness, which kills power builds. in this power heavy meta necro is at a pretty good spot.
survival is hard, but with a bit of team support you can pull through.

no its just one proc from your character. it scales pretty solidly with healing power though.

would rather anet buff traits/skills before making a build template. it would kitten me off to see them design a whole program for a bunch of horrible build choices.
there are so many basic things anet can do to every profession to make them +10000000% better, but continue to sit on their kitten. sometimes I actually hope that this game will just die so anet can move on and hopefully make something better.
maintain weakness, dodge true shot and pull, use soft cc when they charge you with sword/shield, corrupt their f3, cc their heal/f2. gotta have good reflexes to get anywhere in this game.
imo the necro meta is kinda sucky. I would go with pack runes and foot in the grave. having a stunbreak on reapers shroud will save your life countless times.

not getting hit is some serious advice, except I don’t have that many dodges. its on an 8sec cd with the bm line, plus gotta dodge lb knockback, the other pet, and maul. gotta dodge twice if its a smokescale since the burst and the knockdown both hit really hard.
poe, beating a dh on an s/f ele isn’t very surprising considering how much projectile defense the spec has.

use rs 2 for bristleback, rs 3 for stealth knockback. if youre stuck out of rs use warhorn daze, staff fear, or randomly dodge. if they are hitting you with the same burst then they are predictable. never engage anyone with low lf.
