what about if those top stats were directly tied to winning the game? I’m thinking about 3 categories: points decapped, points capped, and time spent on a contested point. I guess you could combine decapped with capped and make it a ratio. so for example 3 decap / 1 cap would beat 2/1 (maybe capped count double? so its really 3/2 beats 2/2). idk just a thought.

if you could do this, then population imbalance would be fixed. also, if a zerg of 50 couldn’t figure out how to beat you, then you deserve the win. there is an easy fix to a group of staff eles.
completely removing the aoe cap wouldnt help. if it was lowered on some other skills and cleave was gutted then I think a drawn out fight would be a lot better in terms of lag.
I’m with cevni, I don’t think support skills should have their caps raised. I also think that support skills should be only applied to ppl in your party, and if theyre out of range then no one else gets the buff.

unfortunately bandwagoning is one of the most interesting thing that happens imo. it disrupts the balance, brings new matchups, adds variance to the same ol week in week out monotony.

after reading flumeks post, maybe monthly 5v5 tourneys could be a thing. I would hate to see the tip top teams being the only ones to get something though. I’m thinking grassroots. top say 20 teams get some kinda unique skin, some gold, and progress towards a title, while the higher up you are ofc you get better rewards. idk just spit ballin.
if you reliably hit bads with that skill, good for you. even if you do get the full channel off, grats, you get 12% lf on a 8sec cd. that’s not going to save you from much of anything.
decimate defenses would be fine without vuln on axe lol.

If anet opened up a full server every time a handful of guilds took a week off the system would be stupid easy to manipulate.
I think that’s the issue. people are saying that other servers can do this so why cant tc. personally idk but it sounds possible. maybe theyre moving alts?
why do tc ppl even want to be in t1 anyways? ive been on tc for a while now and would rather not watch our bad pugs get run over any more. tc doesn’t have the meleetrain to compete most of the time, at least this was the case when I played.

hot is great, there are some pvp / wvw balancing issues but in general its fun. I love just running amok in the new zones defeating monsters. makes me feel like I carelessly save tyria one big baddie at a time, in my free time :3

random procedural generation has been in the back of my mind ever since I heard of it a few years ago. if gw2 could do it, man oh man!
decimate defenses is all well and good in a non serious pve environment. even if its used crit chance is not what necros need anyways.
for pvp and most of wvw its not useful as having reliable life force generation.
there was a thread on this in the necro forums a long time ago.
I think it’s essential to have systems where just one person can be useful against a big group. Otherwise, WvW would simply be a numbers game. But I do agree that excessive seige can be annoying.
for a game mode like this its essential to have siege, but that doesn’t mean siege should counter groups of coordinated people. all this does is lead to siege wars, which draws out a fight x100 and frustrates people cuz the only reason most of them are there is to get kills. only a few ppt tryhards will actually take it seriously, and when they do, they ruin the fun for everyone else. not their fault ofc, its the way the mechanics are setup atm.
as for one person to have use against a big group, they shouldn’t have to rely on siege, but their own skills. raising the aoe cap on some skills would do that, and bring skill groups back.

solo q will always be sorta pointless to compete in, since youre put in a team with 4 randoms.
I don’t get it. if I want to compete ill join a team, get on ts, and practice. you cant do all that solo, solo is casual mode. solo is the opposite of an organized and synced team. this game mode suffers heavily when people cant even do the bare minimum to communicate and react to an enemy who is competent. in an fps I would say its different, strategy doesn’t matter as much there, but here its key.

hot changed everything, and the elite specs have made a lot of people complain that its a p2w mechanic because theyre so strong. honestly its annoying, anet did great work and deserve some compensation, but it is mandatory to have hot to be competitive.
dungeons are dead, the gold from them was nerfed. there is another thread in this subforum regarding ways to make monies.
actually upon reading in the dungeon forum they give decent gold via salvaging but you cant repeat paths anymore cuz of less rewards.
thief has some really op stuff that’s carrying it atm. that’s true for basically every hot spec though. look at the current build editor to see what I mean. sadly s/d is dead, although if youre good enough you can do whatever you want I guess.

imagined burden – moved to master, might gain removed
that way because its moved to gm the user would have to choose between the 2 other good gm traits. I doubt anyone would roll with 4 signets lol, especially not in pvp. 2 max, the heal and the shatter recharge one + moa, but moa is on a pretty long cd so the distort isn’t going to be that op. all of the signets I mentioned have long cast times too.
this could be really useful for stripping resist from zergs.

do you think changing rng traits/sigils/runes would help reduce lag? so instead of the reg sigil of might its “gain 1 might 5sec 1sec cd”. I feel like (no expert obv) all of this rng adds a ton of calculations when it really doesn’t have to. could be that adding a bunch of timers like that would make it worse, but what we have now for example “60% chance on crit” the server has to calculate crit chance vs 5 targets all at once every second.

There were a few proposals in that regard on the first two pages. But in the end, we cannot have both “freedom of stat choice” and “stat balance”. One will limit the other.
when you say “freedom of stat choice” I get it, but at the same time it sounds inaccurate. due to my biased opinion I hear “3k armor 1.5k condi dmg+heal power” or “3.5k power 240% crit damage”.

back in the day dungeon runs were the thing, but they nerfed them for some dumb reason. you can still run paths and use your tokens to buy gear, which you then salvage for ectos mats and runes.
like others have mentioned, fractals.
heavy loot bag farming if you can get into a good team in wvw. there is a reward track now, if you open the wvw panel you should see the tab.
pvp has ok loot now, I would advise you actually try to win tho instead of farming.
silverwastes for pve event farm chain, I think this was nerfed tho.
I used to farm karka, wasn’t the best but it was relaxing for some reason. I got about 80 shells/hour plus some t6 bloods and whatever ancient logs or orichalcum was on the map. oh and don’t forget passion flowers.
the auric basin multimapping is the newest one and ive heard its quite profitable. nevermind the mm was nerfed, it still gives good loot tho so finding a group that will complete the meta without fail could be a choice.
the living story new zones might offer something but I’m not in touch with that.
also you can turn karma into gold by doing this stuff. do some research.
used to be able to go to bloodtide coast and turn karma into gold by salvaging low level light armor equipment, altho I think this is vastly inferior to the one above.
with laurels you can by t6 material boxes from laurel merchants. might be a better way but that’s what I do lol.
find a website that tracks gatherables (like flax) and farm those on all of your toons.
if you like rng, you can promote low tier materials into higher ones via the mystic forge.
crafting can be good if you can get your hands on a good recipe and supply of materials.

heal guard does have a bit less hp and tough, so that’s why you don’t go first ;)
:( mine got 3.8/3.9k armor arround 1k healing power and arround 25k hp, plus 2k power.
