I like being in the guild group I am in now (~20) and taking on 2 to 3 times our numbers.
Everyone does what to do, its extremely rewarding, and the most fun to be had in this game.
Its world versus world. Not team versus team.
Being in the middle of silver tier, most of us dont experience lag. Suckers.

% of uptime is a lot less important than actual continuos uptime for stability, just ask yourself what is better, 3 sec stability every 7 seconds or 20 seconds of stability every 80 seconds? I’d take the 20 seconds even though it’s proportionately less, since with 20 seconds I can do a full skill rotation AND heal by the end of it.

kitten that is the most incorrect statement I have ever heard. How many people actually believe this?
Do you realize that plenty of builds will remove boons?
Do you realize that plenty of players might just run away to waste your stability?
Do you realize that plenty of builds have cc that can lock you out of the fight after your stability has ended?

If Near to Death didn’t exist, then traits wouldn’t be balanced around Near to Death, and the end result would be that traits based on entering/leaving DS would be more useful for every build.

No auto does or ever should have chill.
Pulling 5 foes on a 10 sec cd is pretty OP
I like the idea of a block, but I would rather get a boon ripper then condi transfer

Overall, I like the idea of a necro with a mace. It is the next weapon that makes sense from a lore and balance perspective. I think giving the mace a mark is a cool idea, kinda like the guardian mace which has a symbol. I do hope they give this to necros with all attacks cleaving.

I think this is an awesoem idea, however, not all s/p d/p thieves are solo 100% of the time. What about the small man team that uses that smoke field for a group stealthing effect?

If this change was implemented, which I want it to be, then make the necros well of darkness a smoke field and decrease the cooldown.

I agree with you OP. Sounds like a solid change to me.
One thing tho. I would want it so it only applies a couple stacks per hit, with a shorter cooldown. Some thing like:
2 stacks 5 seconds 5 sec cd at 600- range
3 stacks 5 seconds 5 sec cd at 600+ range
This would promote hybridmancers as well as keep the “condi bomb” situation under control. I’m not saying you do, but many people underestimate how powerful torment is.

Passives are what many agree to be ruining the game. Enough passives and the trinity becomes necessary to keep the whole thing together.

Yes, because blobing is “epic”- thats official. Bloblings qq about roamers when they get repeatedly sniped and cant reach their blobs and anet will do everything in their power to help poor bloblings and rip those evil roamers out of www.

You mean 5 “roamers” versus 1 “blobling”?
I never get annoyed if it really is a 1v1 when I’m running back to my guild group of ~25, but its usually 3-10 v me. Its really boring and pathetic.

I’ve played gw1 plenty. I agree that guild halls would definitely be the way to go for GvG. Open world GvG, behaving like a guild mission, could technically work, but wouldnt be optimal in the slightest.
I opt to wait for guild halls. If and when.

I think the fact that a half second of cripple can count as a whole condition cleanse instead of that 25 stack of bleed is even more unfair

Not even close. Cleansing 25 stacks, which would be someones entire kitten nal of condi application vs. one condi cleanse skill? Riiight.
Who cant wait a half second to use their cleanse?

Remove condi damage from the equation and make it so there is no gear that combines ferocity with condition damage then you might have something that will work.

If and when anet adds guild halls, which if they do may come waaay down the line, open world gvg would be a quick fix.
Like I said previously, there would be no interference between open world gvg and pve if there were boundaries and some kind of gvg arena OS.
The pros:
People no longer taking up spots in wvw
Wvw no longer interfering with gvg (other players, orb bonus, sigil stacks)
New and dynamic gvg arenas
Easy (ish) to implement
Spectators!
The cons:
I really dont see any. The arena would not interfere with anything pve.

Recently had a long battle with a zerk thief (~10min?) with my zerk necro.
I think we will be seeing more condis users sure. I like the nerf. It means the game will be harder and I will have to try harder to win. More rewarding for me.

I think the fact that one cleanse can clear 25 stacks of bleed is unfair.
You think that condi is op.
Possible solution:
Reduce the cooldown on all cleansing skills, but they now reduce duration and stacks for each respective condi.

Oh whatever you end up running turn off your hammer auto attack chain – that way you can control when to place your light field. Nothing is worse then overwriting a water field and wiping your team.
edit: sigil of stamina is the best zerging sigil for any class. try it out, if it doesnt get nerfed.

The only way I see open world GvG working is to make it behave like a guild mission. You activate some flag, and in 10 seconds you are entered into the GvG battle. The battle would have to be out of the way as to not interfere with open world events of course. Anyone in the GvG battle can only attack others in the arena so PvE players wouldnt be ganked out of the blue. Once you “tap in” you cant switch guilds or any such nonsense. I’m guessing there would have to be some added textures and borders to make the battleground look more legit and keep non combatants out. There would have to be a GvG OS to control things like a player cap, scoreboard (with kdr omg), a driver tag (wha?!?!), etc. Also a spectator system would be awesome.
This is definitely do able. Will they do it? One can hope.
