Since you are on a Mac you should check the Mac forum area where there is a massive number of reports of this new issue that is only happening to Mac users.

When did this show up?

I was there Monday night and didn’t see these.

I’ve actually seen them there off and on at random over the last few months when I happened across that area. They aren’t always there, but are more often than not when I’ve happened past. I don’t really do the train so I don’t know how long it has been going on. It was odd timing that I finally screencapped it to ask about it and then saw this thread the next day. lol

Projected profit off at Trader

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

There is a 5% Listing Fee and a 10% Sales Fee.
The Projected Profit does not include the 5% listing fee in its calculation.
Due to this, one can actually lose coin on the sale despite the Projected Profit showing…well, a profit.

To find out your actual Profit, you must manually subtract the Listing Fee from the Projected Profit to see how much profit you are actually making on selling the item.

Yeah, it’s pretty silly and illogical that Projected Profit does not also take the Listing Fee into account when displaying your Projected Profit. It isn’t actually showing your Projected Profit for the entire transaction.

  • 10c – Item Vendor Value
  • 11c – Buy order for item
    Sell item to Buy Order
  • 1c – Listing Fee
  • 1c – Sales Fee
  • 10c – Displayed Projected Profit (does not include listing fee)
  • 9c – Actual coin gained from selling the item

Result: 1c loss on the sale over just vending the item for 10c.

Again, Projected Profit does not include the Listing Fee, only Sell price minus 10% Sales Fee. In the above example you are actually paying 1c to get rid of the item instead of vending it.

Scale these values higher and the loss is even greater.

  • 99c – Item Vendor Value
  • 1s – Buy order for item
    Sell item to Buy Order
  • 5c – Listing Fee
  • 10c – Sales Fee
  • 90c – Displayed Projected Profit (does not include listing fee)
  • 85c – Actual coin gained from selling the item

Result: 14c loss on the sale over just vending the item for 99c.

Before listing an item, be sure to manually subtract the Listing Fee from the Projected Profit to find out the real amount of coin you’ll get from the entire transaction.

  • Sell If:
Projected Profit – Listing Fee = Higher than Vendor Value
  • Vend If:
Projected Profit – Listing Fee = At or below Vendor Value
This is if you have no interest in salvaging blue/green items for Luck or Materials.

No Sound From Drums

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

It may be that your audio in Windows or your audio configuration utility is configured to be surround sound and some sounds don’t get played to the correct speakers. GW2 does not support surround sound, so if this is the problem then you need to change your audio settings in Windows and/or your audio utility to be stereo and not surround sound/5.1/7.1/etc.

Not sure if this is the problem or not, but haven’t seen others reporting it being an issue just yet so unsure if it actually is a drum issue or a local audio setting issue.

Can't get into the game

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

The second method can’t solve this problem.
Now I’m trying the first method.
I think it’s a bug on the server side, because I tried using my friend’s computer to play this character and failed while he plays normally.

How do you know deleting the local.dat will not solve your problem? It has for many others in the past with only a single character unable to be loaded.

With this additional information of the character still unable to be loaded on a different installation on a different computer, in this case it is correct that deleting the local.dat file will likely not help. Had that information been provided then I would not have suggested it (or repair) as a possible solution due to it seeming to be the type of issue only filing a ticket with Support can resolve.

Good luck with your correspondence with Support to resolve the issue.

Abyss dye - sell now or after update?

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

  • Use
If you use the dye then you will always have Abyss available to all characters you currently have and will ever have. How much is having that unlocked worth to you? – 5g, 20g, 40g, 80g?
  • Sell Now/Hold
If you need the coin now or don’t want to play the guessing game of when to sell for maximum coin, then if you sell it now to the highest buy order then you are guaranteed to get around 25 gold.
If you hold on to it then there is the definite possibility that prices of expensive dyes will fall and you could end up selling for less than 25g in the future.
There is also the definite possibility that prices of currently expensive dyes could rise after the patch.
However the prices are likely to both rise and fall in the wake of the patch and knowing when to sell to maximize the amount of coin you get for the dye will be difficult to know.

If you don’t need the coin immediately and are even remotely interested in unlocking the dye for your account, it couldn’t hurt to hang on to it until after the 15th.

  • If price goes up and stays up, then you can sell it for a lot more than you would right now.
  • If price goes down and stays down, then you can still just eat the dye to unlock it for your account.
  • If the prices goes up but seems that it may come back down below the current price, then you can sell it high and then buy another one after the price drops to unlock for your account. This would leave you with it unlocked as well as having some coin.

There are some threads discussing dyes and their post-15th prices nearby (this for one) that have many opinions shared by players. Many of these opinions are pretty logical, though we will not know for sure how it will play out until it happens.
However, with the massive influx of players getting unidentified dyes for their duplicate unlocks, I am sure there are likely to be several more abyss going up for sale than there normally have been due to the sudden boost of opened unidentified dyes. Unfortunately, this is also speculation as we do not know if the unidentified dyes we will be granted for duplicate dyes will be account bound and unsellable, as well as their identified products being account bound to prevent a massive influx of dye supply heading out into the market.

It’s all speculation and personal preference.

  • Eat it and have it forever
  • Sell now and get the gold you can get while you know you can get it
  • Hold it and possibly sell for much less later on or end up eating it and have it forever if it goes lower in price than it is worth to you to have it unlocked
  • Hold it and sell it for much more than that it currently sells for.
    • And if the prices later goes down super low you can always buy another real cheap to unlock and have some gold to show for holding off.

Personally, I sold an abyss many months ago that I got from a dropped unidentified dye for about 28 gold. I finally just bought abyss the other day with a buy order for about 25 gold mainly because I wanted it immediately and before any price changes happen after the 15th. If I could have waited and got Abyss for 5g in a few weeks, I don’t mind the extra cost I paid to have it now as 20g isn’t that much to me. If Abyss ends up only going up in price, then I got a good deal grabbing it now over later on as I will never pay more than 30g for a dye even with it getting unlocked for my account.

Can't get into the game

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Would you consider trying these two possible solutions to see if they help fix the problem for that character:

Check the game for errors and repair it

  • Close your game completely.
  • Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
  • Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
  • On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed.
  • After the closing quotation marks in this line put a single space and then add -repair
It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair
  • Hit OK after making this change.
  • Run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix any damaged files it finds.
  • After it runs through, start the game using the normal GW2 game shortcut (not the repair shortcut) and see if your character can load up properly.

Delete the local.dat file
Deleting this file has helped resolve this issue for other players in the past. It will also cause you to lose your saved game settings (graphics, stored login data, etc.) but may fix the problem. If you rely on your stored login info to log in, make sure you can recall what your login info is as the stored login info is also cleared.

The quickest way to do this is to:

  • Ensure your game is completely closed.
  • Hold your Windows Key and press ‘F’ to open your Windows Search.
  • Search for “Local.dat”. 2 files may be found.
  • Ignore the “Local.dat” file that is in the game installation folder if one is found there.
  • Delete the “Local.dat” file that resides at:
    “C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2”
  • Load up your game normally and see if the character can load properly.
  • You will notice that your settings are reverted to default. You should reconfigure your game settings once again to your preference.

Heroric edition gear

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

It depends on what gear you are referring to.

If you mean that you got a full set of legacy armor skins (Profane-Light, Krytan-Medium or Primeval-Heavy) and applied them to the armor of your current character, but you would like to instead apply it to a different character now or at a later date that can wear that armor weight, then you will not have a problem after April 15th when the wardrobe goes into effect.

After the 15th, any armor skins you equip or manually unlock will be available permanently and infinitely for use from the wardrobe on any other characters across the account.

As it is now, those armor skins were one-time use and are lost if they or the character they are on is deleted. I recommend you not destroy those armor pieces or delete the character that they are bound to or the skin will be lost and will need to be re-purchased again.

Once the 15th comes with the game update at that time, you can log into the character that has the armor skins bound to it and they will automatically be unlocked for the account.

If you do not wish to wait until the 15th to transfer the armor skins to another character, then you would need to follow a roundabout way to transfer the skins to another character immediately. This method will use up quite a few transmutation stones (for characters level 1-79, crystals for characters level 80) as well as having to purchase additional armor.

It is best that you wait until April 15th when the change is made and your skins become available in the wardrobe and are then able to be used by all characters on the account.

There was a visible countdown in-game. You must have missed it.

Indeed, there is always a countdown on items leaving the store (other than the transmutation splitter getting ninja yanked, but that’s another discussion).

To OP – the front page listing does not show the counter and displays items in a vertical fashion. One must visit the promotions tab or the appropriate category where the item is listed in a more detailed, horizontal fashion to see the countdown timer.

There is more than one “John Smith” in this world. John Smith is also the accepted “generic name” for males in the US and UK (and possibly elsewhere). You seem to assume they are meaning the ArenaNet John Smith, despite their stating an entirely different profession in their response.

Also, I suspect falsely reporting posts may lead to an infraction for wasting a moderator’s time (though I do not believe you actually did report it as you stated, just saying).

Nicely written, OP. I second the +1 for the effort.

You cna actually check, if a post was already reported or not, by reporting it yourself. IF it was already reported, you will get a headline stating just that, if not, a window will pop up under the post, where you can state, why you want to report the post.

The OP wasnt reported yet.

I did check that It led to my editing and adding a comment in the final portion of my response in parenthesis. It’s a handy little trick to see if one has been or not. Another good trick is that spaces count as characters so one can have a very short comment with spaces after it to meet the minimum character requirements.

Not a problem. I’m sorry if I came across as annoyed or aggressive, which was not my intent. I just wanted to point out a nearby area that already had that question asked by others as well. There were also other questions posed in that thread in case there were other concerns you might have then they might’ve been put to rest there as well. Also wanted to bring attention to the Wiki as it is always helpful. The GW2 Knowledgebase is a good area as well, though it still says the banker golem is good for 5 days despite being 14 days. The wiki is usually the most up-to-date source for info as there is an army of gamers keeping it as current and informative as possible.

The fourteen-day period begins when you first use the Golem Banker. During the fourteen-day period, you can use the Golem Banker’s service as many times as you’d like.

Feel free to hang on to it in storage or in your mail until you are ready to activate it. If you accidentally or intentionally delete it before you use it, any new character that is made will receive a new one in their mail until it is activated and the two weeks of use are up.

Total Makeover Kit and Ribbon Colours

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

I’m hoping the accessory color can be changed to any unlocked on the account after the 15th. I have no basis for believing it will be, but it would be logical seeing as all dyes would be unlocked on the account and with the changes made to the wardrobe for character appearance customization.

If the hair and makeover kits get updated to have a better layout, especially for dyes, then it can have all possible dyes in a grid. Running a single query of the account dye unlocks would cause locked ones to remain faded while unlocked ones would be fully opaque. Just like in the wardrobe, one can preview how the character would look with a locked dye and then right-click > buy on TP to purchase the dye. Buying and unlocking the dye will illuminate it in the customization panel to be used in the makeover. If a locked dye is currently in the preview then the Accept Changes button will not be active until all previewed dyes are unlocked.

Again, I have no basis for believing this is how it will be. I just think that the wardrobe and appearance customization overhaul would be incomplete if they did not also look into the hair and makeover kit customization screen and its current layout and limitations.

Don't transmute legendaries

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Well they never answered my questions regarding transmutted ascended armors(like say with a dungeon skin) so I know if I should buy and use a splitter(back when it was available) so I can move around my ascended set freely.

It’d be a waste if it wouldn’t be account bound because I have the skin of an exotic on my ascended armor post patch.

Seeing as your item has the stats of the ascended, thus it has the quality of an ascended armor (purple), I don’t see any reason why it would not become account bound after the 15th.

In the example they gave (mentioned above stating you would want to use a splitter) it was mainly because the stats selected in their example were of the basic (white) quality item with the ascended appearance, and if you wanted the ascended stats back then you would need to split it from the white item.

Don't transmute legendaries

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

They need to address this problem by giving away free splitters in the shop under promotion. Yes splitters, more than 1.

By April 15th, the splitters will be useless to “ANET” anyways.
The money will be in selling the charges.

I believe I recall reading that people with transmutation splitters would be getting charges in return in the same way as people with transmutation stones/crystals would be getting compensated. This would make giving the splitters away problematic.

Correct. From April 15th onward, instead of having its current functionality, activating a T-Splitter will add 5 T-Charges to the account wardrobe.

What's the biggest mistake you've ever done?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

To be quite honest, I’ve not really made any kind of mistake in the game where my afterthought was “oh, man, that was stupid! What was I thinking?” Only thing that could come close was purchasing the Viper’s Medium Armor Skin just before the March Sales were announced and had I waited a few weeks I could have got it slightly cheaper. Same with buying a character slot some time last year and then seeing it on sale the next day. Those are more about timing and not the result of an actual mistake. I intended to buy them at full price anyway, so getting them cheaper would have just been icing.

Something I saw someone else do:
Yesterday I was in Rata Sum and saw a new level 2 asura thief who had “The Theif” as part of their name. Unfortunately, just as I wrote to tell them that it was actually spelled “Thief” and that there was still time to remake and correct the spelling, they used a Level 20 Scroll. I then said, “Um…never mind.”

It was supposed grant Rank Points. However, it was found to be granting Glory, which is being removed, and activating the Chalice has been temporarily disabled while it is corrected to properly grant Rank Points as intended.

Please give them a bit of time to make the adjustment so when you can use it you will get what it was described as giving.

I want a refund on that Chalice >_> I got glory instead

File a ticket with support and explain that you used the chalice and got Glory instead of Rank Points before it was locked to get fixed. A support response was posted stating that a “replacement item” would be sent in the mail in-game to players who used the chalice prior to them getting locked from use.

The sales are generally available in-game about 12-48 hours prior to the news announcement in the client and on the website. Yeah, pretty messed up that sales are at least half over with by the time it is advertised.

  • 20% Off Bag Slot Expansions and Bank Tab Expansions
  • One free Instant Repair Canister and Gathering Booster per account
  • The Digital Deluxe Upgrade at 50% Off is still going on also.

Yes, single use skins that can be used on multiple armor weights will be available for all armor weights in the wardrobe when that skin is unlocked. Feel free to use your ticket and get your gauntlets without worry of it being tied to a specific weight after the wardrobe goes live.

“Single items, such as the Fuzzy Hats and Scarlet’s Spaulders, will be unlocked for your entire account and usable with any armor weight.”

From the last paragraph of the “Collecting Weapon and Armor Skins” section of the wardrobe blog.

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Regarding the megaserver changes:

  • But…I like my peace and quiet…
    -
I like my server because of the low number of players I run into in PvE. I enjoy rarely coming across a single other player and hanging together in silence as we explore and fight enemies before splitting off and going our separate ways to find more adventures. Seeing dozens upon dozens of players running past me every minute ruins my sense of immersion into the world.
    -
With this virtual server merge, no longer will I be able to play content alone and in relative peace and quiet. Every enemy I face will likely be attacked by several others, or will even already be dead before I can even get to it. Every hilltop I climb for the view will be soured by a dozen other people already crowding the peak. Every remote path through the mountains or forest that I walk along (literally and with the UI off) will no longer be a serene stroll with only sounds of birds, wind and water bubbling in streams. The pleasure of a silent stroll will now be saturated with the unceasing sounds of a dozen other players constantly slaughtering the bunnies and deer nestling nearby and the busy bee line of players running back and forth across my screen.
    -
Yes, this is an MMO, I know there are other people in the game world and that one can expect to see and interact with other players. However, the frequency of that interaction was a choice players had based on the server they choose to play on. Servers have been specifically chosen by some (many?) players based on the density and attitudes/play styles of other players on that server.
    -
I like my server because I do not see dozens of players every 15 seconds running around. If I wanted that then I would go to one of the larger, more densely populated servers. The megaserver changes will destroy OW-PvE for me and will take away my choice of playing how I want to play.
    -
Again, if I wanted to interact with more people in the open world, I’d guest or transfer to a higher pop server. Bringing them to me and forcing interaction against my will sours my game experience. Instead of adding the living feeling to the world, more players thrown across my path only snaps me out of the immersion and reminds me that it isn’t a living world because a person taking a stroll out in the woods shouldn’t be met with the bustling crowds of dozens of people running like mad across my path every 15 seconds.

Regarding the world bosses and events changes:

  • Hinterlands: Ulgoth put on a timer? – Living and dynamic world goes bye-bye?
    -
First I will be losing my solitude and immersion into my surroundings, now I will also lose the ability to run the Hinterlands dynamic event chain (among others) when I choose to?
    -
“Static” is not the same thing as “Dynamic”, it is the opposite.
    -
Removing the dynamic nature of zone events (such as those leading up to confronting Ulgoth) and making them into statically scheduled events is nothing short of pure madness. Arguably the most fun and spectacularly designed event chain and zone boss group event in the game (which other zone events should have been modeled off of) …and you remove the dynamic nature of it and throw it on a fixed timer?
    -
The “living” feeling and the dynamic nature of the world and what occurs in it is constantly being removed from the game.
  • Why is the implementation and feeling of the “Living World” being slowly and intentionally removed?
  • Why are you intentionally removing the ability for players to bring about and have their own adventures?
  • Why are you forcing us to only have the adventures you want us to have, when you want us to have them?
  • Are you wanting all players of your game to have a uniform, predetermined experience as is gradually being dictated?

The official page also lists a “Identity Repair Kit” combining name change and total makeover kit, but I cannot find any info about that. Was it not added after all?

If it was, how much is the cost?

It’s there under Promotions still, as well as on the Services tab for 1,000 gems.

350 gems – Total Makeover Kit
800 gems – Name Change Contract
1,150 gems purchasing individually

or

1,000 gems for the Identity Repair Kit

So you save 150 gems by buying this combo instead of individually.

HOW DO YOU TURN OFF THE BOBBLE HEAD!

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

The program is set to activate this on April 1, change the date on the computer to April 2 and it will end. Tomorrow change the date back.

Unreliable. Regardless of what date you set your clock to it will still come back after changing zones or switching characters. Seems unrelated to the clock, especially since some people do not experience the bobble-head at all after logging in on a character, but switching characters causes it to become enabled for them.

There is currently no known way to permanently disable this…
I think we need to wait for ANet to patch a temporary disable option/pop-up into the game. Seeing as it is for one day only it is likely that they won’t bother taking the time to do it despite chasing players out of their game, messing with WvW S2, limiting what can even be done in the game if one can look past the distraction aspect, and also really upsetting a lot of people due to the disrespect of ruining their limited time available to log in.

April Fools: Bobble Heads

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Better call the fun police… ANet can’t let loose one gag one day of the year.

We’re not saying they can’t. We’re saying that the people who want to turn it off should at least have the option.

And if they want to change their computer clock for a day they can. The solution is there, even if some people can’t use it.

That is only temporary until a character or map change when it returns (as well as at random every couple minutes). This has been pointed out by many. It is not a way to disable this disruption to gameplay.

We need to merge and delete all these threads and have a mod post saying,
“Relogging will remove the affects of bobble heads”

Easily done.

Re-logging does not permanently remove the effects. There are some ways to temporarily remove them that are a hassle to constantly do every few minutes to get rid of it after it returns, but there is currently no known way to permanently disable the bobble-heads…

Gemstore update: finisher, mask & backpack

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

I still don’t see how they can justify charging 500 gems for that mask (or the other two that preceded it). They’re nice skins, but not that nice.

I think 500 gems is reasonable for it now that it is no longer a one time use skin. Once the wardrobe goes into effect we can apply them as many times as we like to multiple characters.

I bought one, but it’s a shame that I can’t even look at it on my characters due to these stupid bobble-heads that cannot be turned off. Thanks for the disrespect, ANet.

Runes, Sigils, and Balance Updates?

in Profession Balance

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

[ … ]

EDIT: Actually! I’ve forgotten about water slots too. I wonder if having a trident with bloodlust would allow you to maintain the stacks if you un-equip your main weapon which also has bloodlust? I think that needs answering too.

Regarding your edit, I really hope stacks persist after entering or leaving water. I would really hate to gain my 25 stacks and then stroll through a puddle to find I lost them in that split second I got my feet wet.

I wonder how they’ve decided to have it work:

Behavior 1)

  • - After gaining stacks while on land and entering water, if any equipped water weapon is detected as being outfitted with the same sigil as the one that earned the stacks on land, then the land-gained stacks remain.
    - After gaining stacks while on land and entering water, if no equipped water weapon is detected as being outfitted with the same sigil as the one that earned the stacks on land, then the land-gained stacks are removed.
    Result:
I do not really see any issues other than being required to have an on-kill sigil on both a land and water based set for acquired stacks to not get removed when transitioning between the two. Some may not be happy about that, but it makes sense…kind of

Behavior 2)

  • - Any stacks gained on land are removed upon entering water regardless of what sigils are applied to your aquatic weaponry.
    - Any stacks gained while in the water are removed upon exiting the water regardless of what sigils are applied to your land-based weaponry.
    Result:
Many people are sure to be frequently aggravated by losing their land-gained stacks by running through a brief, yet slightly too deep, puddle and then having to regain them all over again. Same for water-gained stacks being lost upon exiting to land as is a frequent occurrence in several zones where water is abundant and combat frequently shifts between land and water (fg/sod/ml/cs/etc).

Behavior 3)

  • - Any stacks gained on land persist upon entering water regardless of what sigils aquatic weaponry are outfitted with.
    - Any stacks gained while in water persist upon exiting to land regardless of what sigils the land-based weaponry are outfitted with.
    Result:
Due to stacks persisting regardless of whether they were gained via a land-based or aquatic weapon outfitted with the sigil, I expect most players will likely just place the on-kill sigil on an aquatic weapon and put the two sigil slots on their two-handed, land-based weapon(s) to good use with other sigils.
Due to aquatic weaponry also being two-handed weapons, players will place two of the on-kill sigils on one of their aquatic weapons to gain stacks twice as fast due to gaining two stacks for each kill. This will lead to players just dropping by a pool of water and killing 13 aquatic enemies to gain their 25 stacks before setting off to “play for real”, instead of players getting their 25 stacks on land while playing for real and then switching to their inventory weapon with a different sigil after they’ve slowly (or sometimes quickly) built up their 25 stacks.

So:
Behavior 1 - Have the sigil on both a land and water weapon if you want the gained stacks to persist across both land and water.
- Fine with me -

Behavior 2 - Be super careful and don’t accidentally run through any puddles or cross any streams or you’ll have to gain the stacks all over again. Stay clear of any content involving water if you gained your stacks on land or be forced to gain them all over again.
- I can see the aggravation already -

Behavior 3 - Forget about earning your stacks while you are out adventuring since getting the best use out of your sigil slots on your land weapons means starting every adventure with the chore of having to take take a long dip in the water to gain your stacks before you go on your way and have fun.
- I actually really like water combat and it is “playing for real” to me, most people don’t like water combat though -

I prefer Behavior 3.
Behavior 1 is…not as bad as Behavior 2.
Begs the gods: Please don’t let ANet chose Behavior 2!

Runes, Sigils, and Balance Updates?

in Profession Balance

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Weapon swap (in-combat or not) is not the same as un-equipping a weapon with an on-kill sigil on it to your inventory and equipping a new weapon that does not have the on-kill sigil on it (which can only be done out-of-combat).
Currently, one can equip one weapon to Weapon Set 1, gain 25 stacks, un-equip that weapon and equip another weapon with a different sigil on it into Weapon Set 1 and the 25 stacks remain that were gained from the now un-equipped weapon with the on-kill sigil on it. After the 15th, if you gain stacks from an on-kill sigil on a weapon and you then un-equip that weapon to your inventory, the stacks gained will be removed.

Currently, if an ele is using a staff with an on-kill sigil to gain the 25 stacks and they then un-equip it and equip a staff with a different sigil on it, after the 15th they can just have both their regular sigil and their on-kill sigil on the same staff; no inventory swapping necessary.

True, one can argue that their second sigil slot on the staff is going to waste once the ele gains the 25 stacks . However, the second sigil slot is not going to waste, it is serving a purpose; allowing them to keep the buff of 25 stacks of a stat.

I would like to bring Pixelpumpkin.4608 ’s forum signature to the attention of the thread.
She points out several great ideas that have been proposed in the past, including:
~ City Minigames (thread by TheBlackLeech.9360)
~ City Jumping Puzzles (thread by stjf.7180)
~ Portable Doors: Player Housing anywhere! (thread by Mad Queen Malafide.7512)

There are many other great ideas to increase the liveliness of cities, many of which are thoroughly discussed in their threads which reside in the closed-off suggestions forum. I really encourage ArenaNet to revisit that area and seriously consider many of these gems that have become mostly forgotten.

Also, to moderators/Danicia:
Would it be permissible to use the ‘Report This Post’ flag on the OP of a thread in the suggestions forum and then request it to be moved to X forum for further discussion in the Reason For Report box?
Many of these threads had great discussions taking place in them on their suggestions, though they have long since been locked away. Can we request them individually to be moved to their appropriately related sub-forums to once again be discussed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m looking forward to the Glowing Crimson Mask, if it ever gets added and wasn’t shelved.

Regarding gimmick weapon skins, I will not be picking up any goofy/silly weapon skins if they release more of them. I don’t like them for many reasons for my own use, but I don’t really care if others do (not that immersion breaking for me and to each their own style).

About ‘serious’ special skins they’ve released, I would have gotten the tormented short bow if it was just a smaller version of the longbow. Same with the Jade short bow if it had been a smaller version of the Jade longbow. Special short bow skins started off being smaller versions of the longbows, which was great as the longbows looked awesome! Then they switched to keeping longbows looking awesome and made really uninspired, uncreative, glitchy, clippy, funky generic versions of the short bow versions that look nothing like the longbow versions. So many of these skins they release I would gladly purchase if the SB was the same as the LB only smaller. Won’t be picking up any skins until they go back to that, or start making decent SB variations instead them looking like something that was thrown together last minute with discarded effects from other weapons.
