Greatsword has this problem as well.
Tarnished Coast
This comes from the same guy who’s group did a naked CoF run.
Except at 7:04 you can see that he has 3 armor pieces hidden.
But yea I’m sure this post is legit.
Busted.
Also, OP couldn’t’ve sold it anyway, yep.
Tarnished Coast
Unfortunately, the male light does not look good on my main, who is a skinny sylvari and so, as usual has issues with the shoulders looking awful and the waist being weirdly high. The shirt is pretty cool, but it clips with every other shoulder piece that I have that I preview with.
So I’d love to spend ten bucks on an armor skin, but the pieces they chose to reskin for this new set are not ones that work with my main. When they come out with one that I can mix and match more easily (or wear as a set without shoulder issues— this is also why I haven’t gotten most of the dungeon sets) I will be happy to buy.
Annoying because I love steampunk. But I do compliment ANet on offering things directly for sale instead of RNG.
Tarnished Coast
No RNG (or at least an alternate way to get them), or if there is RNG, make the skins tradable so I can farm the golds or buy gems with $ to buy them. Or cash shop. Or something.
Tarnished Coast
I like the idea. It preserves the unique skins for those who were there at that moment in time, but it also gives new content to those who haven’t gotten to do those dungeons and such.
Tarnished Coast
3587 hours and have played all aspects of the game, nothing. The RNG on this is so awful.
Tarnished Coast
Or, ANet could stop favoring dungeon runners and make the open world as viable, since ostensibly their manifesto placed the open world as their priority, and I could keep up.
‘Take it slow and easy’ is not really an option for someone whose time left doesn’t favor ‘slow and easy’. I appreciate the perspective, but taking things slow and easy just means it might never get done.

I take things day by day because my illness is unstable and my health is very fragile. I’m not meaning to make it a RL sob story, but that’s just how it is. If I don’t make much progress on goals I set, that was basically a day wasted that I can’t really afford to waste.
Edit: So ANet constantly favoring CoF and nerfing other places is very frustating. In GW1, I couldn’t do group speed runs to farm ectos for the same reason, but I could still farm granite and buy the ectos.

Thank you both, I’ve been feeling very discouraged today. The instigator chain let me do good progress and I’ve made almost no gold today. ._.

Question: After reaching level 80 and getting a full set of exotic armor, what is the point of even playing anymore if not to farm? The endgame at level 80 is getting enough cash for the skins we want.
Some of us don’t or can’t dungeon all the time. I’m disabled with an illness that makes me feel tired and slow a lot of the time, I need to take breaks more often that a speed-clear group will tolerate. But I can farm. I like farming. It lets me go at a pace that doesn’t make me feel more sick and I wish ANet would keep non-dungeon types in mind.
What actually is a downer for me is that Orr has been gutted and I noticed the events were not triggering between Penitent Path and Shelter’s gate today (only one was), and there’s a good event farm loop at Kiel/Drift/Pride, but everyone’s too busy chasing the Queen.
I have 250 more gold to somehow grind out if I want Dusk. I can’t spam CoF and I am stuck farming this up myself (because as a guild leader, I don’t want to pressure my guildies into feeling they have to donate). I need to do it before it inflates /again/. How am I going to do that now with Orr empty and Southsun constantly zerged by so many mob waves and not enough players at any one base?
And don’t tell me I don’t need anything. I’m a homebound and bedbound invalid, online is the only thing I get to do.
Tarnished Coast
I don’t mind gambling (my household has survived off poker and blackjack winnings often enough), but ANet, the odds are too steep and it’s offputting. I spend money in the cash shop, but the crates’ RNG is just too stacked against the player to have me justify buying these, and it’s frustrating because I want to support y’all as well as get these skins.
Tarnished Coast
Anyway, I agree with the suggestion that the doors near either side of the district (Cemetery or vista tower) that are closed be opened.
This could be the easiest solution of all, as it would not interfere with all the quest markers pointing folks there.
Tarnished Coast
We’re listening. That area was never intended to be accessible, but we’re looking at other changes we can make that won’t confuse players trying to visit their home instance or continue their story, and won’t get in the way of RPers. I don’t have an ETA for when a change will go in, though, sorry!
I think that a big part of the frustration is that there are a few very unique spots in Salma that are nowhere else in town, such as the Hospital, the three separate houses, that really nice bar, etc.
If folks are roleplaying injured characters, or healers, medical staff, etc, losing the hospital completely short-circuits a lot of roleplay.
If Salma stays closed, possibly relocating those areas (Eastern Commons/Dwayna’s Quarter is pretty empty) would probably help!
Anyway, with roughly at least 10k roleplayers clustered in three servers, that is a lot of long-term players who buy regularly from the cash shop AND don’t require constant content upgrades who would like to see some kind of solution. <3 So thank you for looking into it. It’s appreciated.
Tarnished Coast
A few things:
1) Being able to wear costume items (town clothes) as armor, such as sunglasses > helm.
2) Guild Halls.
3) Saving builds.
4) More than two weapon swap tabs, even if only two are usable in combat.
5) Guild Wars 1 emotes and dances! I’d deffo buy the latter, if it came to that.
Tarnished Coast
Yes, they did a lot of work in fixing the smoothing issues, and they deepened the field of view.
Still wish one could pan the camera up slightly to get more sky, though.
Tarnished Coast
I also have a low life expectancy due to an illness, and am homebound etc, I spend most of my day, when I’m awake, logged in to GW2.
If you had fun, it wasn’t wasted. Surround yourself with good people, and get rid of the jerks, you deserve better.
Good luck. <3
Tarnished Coast
Please bring back uninstanced salma.
The hospital was a very good roleplay hub.
The roleplay community in GW2 is around at least 10k, and we tend to stick around and buy lots of stuff, as well as play all aspects of the game.
Tarnished Coast
I’m legally blind. I navigate dungeons, I PvP, I do plenty of stuff. One thing which I struggle at, however, is jumping puzzles. Oh, give me a few days and I might master it— but I might miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss that very same jump that everyone else gets, no problem.
Sad thing is, *I*am a mesmer. So it’s even worse when I fail, because the attitude is, ‘you suck’, because a mesmers’ job now is to portal folks over stuff they don’t want to do. (That cof path with the boulders is a good example— everyone makes the blind mesmer do it to portal them over while they hang back, when it would be just as easy to one, two, three, pause, four, five, done.)
So I take the darn portal, and I stick around to portal other folks. There’s probably someone in that group that has sight or motor problems, too.
If that means I don’t deserve the achievement, well, I work harder most of the time than you do to do the same content, and I don’t complain in the forums that brochachos have this game on easymode.

I have a similar issue with shoulders— sylvari male, thinnest build. Most of the dungeon shoulders and some of the rest float way too high or stick too far out to the side. :<
Tarnished Coast
Guild Halls was one of the nicest things about Guild Wars 1.
Please bring them back, ANet!
Tarnished Coast
125% before downed, 80% after. -.-
Tarnished Coast
The guild/friendlist servers have probably either gone down or hiccupped. I’ve seen this happen months ago, and off and on during maintenance periods. If that’s what happened, the datas SHOULD still be there when they get back online.
Tarnished Coast
Am fine with it, since they borked my usual farm.
Tarnished Coast
I hope they don’t insist on keeping the Champions. I can’t do daily dungeon speed-runs or fractals because I’m legally blind and often sick, and those things require a lot more focus than I can often manage. Farming Orr let me work towards stuff at a slower pace, with less pressure on the group.
Tarnished Coast
Factions was my favorite expansion. I loved Cantha. I hope they bring it back.
Tarnished Coast
(Sarcasm)
By doing jump puzzles in wvwvw.
Oh and dont forget the lootbags in massive battles, if they drop.
They don’t drop for me, I’ve got 27 since the start of the game. x.x
Tarnished Coast
If they consulted us and made more ways to get stat armor without the grind I would not complain.
There are plenty of ways. You can craft it, dungeon it, karma it, or farm it. Several of these are pretty inexpensive.
Tarnished Coast
its not grind to get ascended gear.
its just boring, and takes time because of the 1 laurel per day max.but the daily changes and you can do it in different places.
thats not a grind in my book.isn’t somthing that is boring a grind?
Generally, boring and takes a long time. You can knock out all the dailies in less than a half hour (and half that, depending on where you’re at). If 15 mins t a half hour of content is what you consider a grind, then MMOs are not for you, my friend.
Also, to the one complaining about the lidless scepter: raise your crafting, it’s a couple gold, and make one. It’ll take less time and gold than farming for the lidless one.
Tarnished Coast
Nuuu. Bring it back, anet!
Tarnished Coast
Please tell me this is a bug and not a deliberate change. The greatsaw (and chainsword) noises were amazing.
Tarnished Coast
They switched out some of the NPCs but the voices were not all fixed, just report them as you see them.
Tarnished Coast
Yeah. DR is in overflow tonight, LA always is.
Tarnished Coast
TC seems to be bouncing back from its post-holiday slump. It’s not launch numbers in non-fractal areas, sure, but there seem to be a good amount of new characters, or alts, in earlier zones; harathi’s busy most of the day, etc.
Tarnished Coast
As the player who does put in 30 hours of grinding and on and on, I love this game.
Tarnished Coast
Don’t get them from the marketplace, and don’t support those price gougers. Either get it via RNG from the forge, or run stuff until a precursor drops, or wait for the scavenger hunt. I know it’s frustrating, but I’ve put off buying Zap; I refuse to encourage the inflation created by a handful of folks who mostly do it just to jerk other players around.
Tarnished Coast
Guild Wars 2 is only grindy for the people who feel entitled to a Legendary weapon. Now we have all these babies. I mean, getting exotic armor and weapons from dungeons isn’t a grind.
Again, my experience with grind (and many other players’) has nothing to do with legendaries, exotic gear, ascended gear, or dungeons.
Care to share, then?
Tarnished Coast
what i want to know is how did gw1 (which wasn’t even an mmo) managed to have good end game and gw2 has no end game at all?
You are thinking of GWEN GW1, and not vanilla GW1. This is vanilla GW2, give them some time to flesh out endgame stuff with expansions.
Tarnished Coast
Yet more reason to avoid fractals.
Tarnished Coast
I don’t want raids, for reasons that many, including me, have articulated in these forums already. I love the game for not having raids, and I don’t think that it needs them.
I’d love to see more stuff like that put out in the open world, however, so anyone can access very difficult large-scale boss-fights.
Tarnished Coast
If they created raid content, I’d personally quit at the first mention of it. No offense.
Likewise. They promised no raids, and this is one breach that would probably make me quit and take my monies elsewhere.
Tarnished Coast
No glow on light male cultural sylvari armor makes me very sad.
Tarnished Coast
They don’t consider death to be evil, it’s just another part of existence. This is actually the case for all of the races, which is why none of them have problems with necromancy (though humans do sometimes find it a little creepy because dead things).
Sylvari have even less hangups about it than the other races.
Tarnished Coast
It’s part of why you see a disproportionate amount of Sylvari fighting on the front lines— they can’t be turned against their comrades if they die.
Tarnished Coast
And you aren’t really giving reasons, you are pulling excuses out of a hat.
Their entire technological renaissance was fought during a 250-year war with humans that occupied the same territory. Even the early quests are significantly about having to fight separatists and defuse mines, not even including some of the Order quests and charr storylines.
If you’ve seen ones under constant guerilla warfare, you’ve seen how devastated they become fairly quickly. I can’t speak for the devs, but Charr railroads would never have lasted without spreading the charr military too thin.
(If you look at the history of the american railroad, it required the subjugation of native americans to manage it, and real life native americans did not have magic or cannons. It also needed a very large workforce, but most Charr were busy killing humans. Or each other.)
Tarnished Coast
(edited by Sylv.5324)
I had to chuckle at the concept that Charr would not have invented Rails and Locomotives as war machines. Sad, cause they were. Rail guns, Armored Trains, logistics, they very much were. But, no matter. I guess they didn’t invent them for the same reason they never got past the dirt road. Rome did, but never mind.
Besides the fact that rome did not invent trains, the problem is that the charr and humans have been fighting guerilla warfare tactics as well as traditional ones, and there are enough humans actively sabotaging roads that it would have been implausible to keep the infrastructure for trains going in an active war zone.
Now that they’re at peace, who knows?

People have been requesting tons of new outfits/armor skins/weapon skins/etc for awhile now and nothing has been added. I mean even requesting outfits that are already in the game to be town clothing hasn’t happened (like clothing NPCs wear). It feels like the only way we are getting new outfits is via holidays only. Which in turn is really disheartening. People have constantly asked, but guess it is not a priority.
With their limited budget, I think that expecting a bunch of new stuff a couple months after launch is not realistic, but we’ll get more armors. Putting in requests now means they have an idea of what we’d like for future expansions and content.
Tarnished Coast
Actually the Steampunk theme of the Charr was something I actually liked. Not a fan of Charr myself though, but I do like their theme they got going on. I mean it’s been over 200 years and times change. The Charr have always been known for their engineering skills since the beginning, so it makes sense that they have evolved as they have.
I was rather disappointed though to see all this new Steampunk stuff, but barely any Steampunk outfits. Was hoping to get some fancy cogwheel-themed armor or something at least. Even some fancy rifles/pistols. But barely anything in that department.
If enough folks request it, they might make some in the future.
Tarnished Coast
I think the theme is fine. There are plenty of straightforward fantasy games, the genre didn’t really need yet another one.
Tarnished Coast
They didn’t jump to bikes because charr don’t need bikes. I assume they haven’t bothered with rail lines because the potential for sabotage is too great. Dolyaks and oxen are slower, but a road is easier to fix than heavily-mined rail lines.
