Blinding Ashes recharged increased from 5s to 8s.
Blinding Ashes isn’t the only viable choice. Even if Blinding Ashes would get nerved to oblivion (which is not happening), D/D Ele would just switch to Pyromancer’s Puissance and still be OP.
Burning Fire no longer apply might when you use a cantrip.
This will have a strong impact. Don’t underestimate the might, that comes from this ability.
Drake’s Breath – Burning duration decreased from 3s to 2.5s.
Ok, at least shaving, better than to overnerf I guess.
Ring of Fire – Applies 2 stacks of burning for 4s initially (this now applies if enemy is within radius of the ring, do not need to cross the ring). When enemy cross the ring threshold the fire stack they get has been changed from 3 stacks for 5s to 1 stack for 2 seconds.
The initial hit is a huge buff in most cases. The reduction of the crossing was necessary.
Scepter damage buff & Dragon Tooth aoe targeted
Dragon Tooth a great and needed change. I hope the buff the dps of the scepter (auto attack damage) and not the burst.

Profession MMR was disabled 8 month ago, but Justin stated “I also turned profession ratings on at 0.25 percent” 7 month ago.

Clarification: Professions have their own MMR tracked, but it is not currently used in matchmaking because players can switch professions after a match is made.
The last information we got was, that the profession MMR was partially (I think it was with 25%) was enabled. Am I just mistaken, or do we just not get the information, when you adjust the mmr?

-) No ingame and no official information how many blossoms you get per day and per stack. (Why has Dulfy this kind of information? Privileged?)
-) Reward scaling via stacks encourage players just to tag events; hit a few mobs then port to the next event to get credit for as many events as possible (up to 20).
-) At the same time, participating in more than 20 events is a waste.
-) Frustrating, if you just get to 9 or 19 stacks.
-) Very limited amount of times (5 days). If you can’t participate one day, you have to farm really hard to get even 1 potion (or 2 skins). You get totally forget to get more than 2 skins / 1 potion unless you play 24/5.

It’s not a learn to play issue, since the matchmaking system is theoretically matching me with similar skill levels.
a.) The match making might need some time to match you with suitable players.
→ The mmr in unranked and ranked are completely independent. How many matches have you played in ranked yet?
b.) In ranked there might not be enough players at your skill level to be matches with.
→ Not a lot of active players around any more. (This will hopefully change with the introduction of leagues with HoT.) Besides having standard character models and lesser pvp maps, there is no reward difference between ranked and unranked. I guess (without any data available, just a guess), that more players are participating in unranked than in ranked.

I remember someone saying that 3 pulls + float was too much CC.
The float alone made it borderline useless.

I have yet not met a single revenant that was too tanky.

He might be too strong in certain areas, and too weak in others, but as long as those enormous l2p-problems exist, it is really hard to tell.
Like you did with every other profession: Learn to read your opponent. Learn what they are doing, and what their strength and weaknesses are. Then counter them and kill them.

Pls teach me how to time condi remove against a skill with zero cooldown and miserable ini cost, oh wise one.
You know when your Banner will hit the ground and attempt to rez right? Since your shouts have no cast time (vs applying poison does), you can instantly press your shout to remove the poison right before your banner lands. And since you know exactly when your banner will land, I guarantee your timing of the instant cleanse is far better than the random poison spam.

And you have the option to pick stability, fear the thief away, tell a teammate to give you stability, tell a teammate to cc the thief, be creative and don’t qq!

Actually balance is the most important thing for an esport type game. IMHO anet underrates its importance.
No, by far not.
The most popular esports title are taking care of the balance with the pick&ban phase. There, it is not so much of a problem how a certain hero/god performs.
The game is already balanced in the kind a esports game needs. Everyone has already the same start requirements. Every team has the option to play a 4 ele 1 thief composition, but well, we are playing a rpg, and we all love our own profession. Our professions should be viable regardless of team composition, regardless how I play my profession and regardless of what the opponent picks…

A free core game would first of mean a bigger player base (only time will show how much it will grow tho). This is definitely the most most important thing we currently need (on second place is the upcoming league system).
Possible problems:
- Using multiple accounts just for the daily login reward to make money. (general problem, not pvp specific).
- Bigger community means more toxicity. Banned for a few hours on one account? Well, let’s just play on my second! (I hope ArenaNet will handle that.)
Question for the community:
How do you think, those f2p-players will feel about being locked out of playing parts of the profession (specifically the elite-specializations)? Should there be a system in place, that they can unlock the elite-specializations through gems (and therefore through ingame currency gold)?

I’ve been hit 3 times by a thief in quick succession with Lotus Strike despite going into stealth during the first hit, but the thief is still auto targeting me in stealth for the last 2 hits.

Lotus Strike does not need a target. You are invisible not invulnerable. Every good player will still spam auto-attack on your position. (not only to hit you, but also to kill every clone around).
When hit by a ranger with Rapid Fire in stealth, I’ve subsequently been hit with Point Blank, while still in stealth.
The projectile of point blank might already be in the air. Add a bit of lag, and it might feel he started the attack once you were already in stealth on your screen, but might not be the same on his.

Or perhaps the worst situation would be if the matchmaking system doesn’t even take League position into account and simply matches you based on another system (such as our current MMR-system.)
This is basically what the current functioning league systems are doing, and I hope it will be the same here. You can imagine the league system as a mask put over the mmr.
- MMR-system: The use of an elo/glicko2-system provides the best match making. You SHOULD fight with and against opponents of your own skill. (Current problem: low population and further split playerbase between unranked and ranked = low population, the system can’t throw equally good players together, if there aren’t any; AND people are always blaming the teammates and not themselves if there are any problems).
- A leaderboard purely based on MMR will fluctuate a lot. A new players with a lucky 10 games win streak can end up on the top. → A league system will force players to play more games to climb up the ladder.
- A purely league based system without any mmr indicator will just end up in a farm system. You would just play as long as you get a lucky win streak to climb up the leagues.
- How does a mmr-based league system work? The amount of points you get per win and the amounts of points you loose per will are based on your current league position and your mmr. e.g. a player in the bronze devision, but with a top 5% mmr will gain 5 ‘pips’ per win till he reaches the diamond divsion. A player in the bronze division and with an anverage mmr will only get his 1 point per win. (Pulling their league position towards their mmr)

1. Poor matchmaking. That will always cause friction in a game.
Feels the same like the past six month. You only get good matchups during the prime time, otherwise it is lacklust.
2. Lack of a balance team. Changes are way too slow. OP stuff stays OP too long.
Still, the balance is better than ever.
3. Some people are just bad people. This is the same as real life. There are good people and there are bad people. Except the same in game.
This has always been the case.
The things you mention have always been that way or are now better than before, but the community is getting more toxic. Therefore I don’t think there is a connection between those three points and the growing toxicity of the community.

That’s possible without macro use AND very easy to do so. Most of the skills you listed have enough cast time, that you can chain those without a problem.
I ran into two different rangers that were executing their skills in a series that really wasn’t possible without some sort of macro.
The same is true for rangers. They don’t have a punch of instant skills and therefore they are very easy to chain together.
People that look suspicious to me are e.g. full arcane fresh air eles.

- Yeah I know this one probably stings but when we started looking at it it was pretty silly that this trait could let you get so much power out of just using all shatter skills back to back.

Yes, the risk exists, that Anet will screw up the system, but I guess they will just copy the league-system of one of the more popular games, and they are solving the problem. How: depending on your mmr, you are gaining and loosing a different amount of pips.
So e.g. even after reaching a certain division, if you try to dump your mmr into the ground, you will first have to improve your mmr, you be able to advance any further.
E.g. after dumping your mmr into the ground, you will only gain 1 pips per win, but you will loose 5 pips per win until your mmr is back at the level where it should be for the division.

The mentality we players have in gw2 regarding balancing is completely different than in the other popular pvp games (specially mobas). We have ‘our’ profession which should be viable in any team constellation no matter what the opponents are playing.
In e.g. lol/dota/smite the players would try to counterpick and try to get a viable, well balanced team constellation. In gw2: we are crying when we get killed from condi damage even tho we chose to use a build without a single condi remove.
How do solve this problem? I don’t know. Maybe hoping the balance team do a far better job than any other team out there, and introduce a perfectly balanced game; or we have to change our own mentality, adjust our build and not just copy it from the top player or even sometimes switch the profession if necessary.

The might the few games you are playing with them, but if you are really that much better, every other game, should increase your MMR over theirs, since they will “drag down” their other matches too.

From the current information we have: You will have a 1 minute grace period to reconnect. If you don’t: You will get punished.
If the longer disconnect happens less frequent, it means, you will have to wait e.g. an additional 5 minutes before being able to play again.
If you have problems frequently, you will end up with a two days pvp- ban. But TBH, if your internet connect is that bad, that you get frequently disconnects that take more than 1 minute to reconnect, you deserve to be banned. I know, that you probably can’t change your bad internet connect, but you are hurting every other player who has to play with you.

I have another suggestion for you:
Ignore them and continue playing and winning games.
If they are bad teamplayers, then it should not take too long for you, to increase your MMR and never see them again. (Ok, nowadays you will see them anyway, since the playerbase is too small, but I hope the league system will change that.)

Even if the survivability it gives is paltry, it is still putting your team at a disadvantage.
The survival-ability it gives is huge. Without the 3 armor parts you will take up to 40% additional damage.
Edit: A nice feature would also be an auto armor repair when joining.

Q1: What is the design concept behind the Revenant?
Q2: How is he supposed to survive in a pvp match?
Q3: How is he supposed to survive in a pvp match as a Bersi or Marauder?
Every profession has a different approach.
Medi-Guardian: Healing with Meditations, Blinds, Blocks and Invulnerability.
Shatter-Mesmer: PU, Teleport, Invulnerability, Blind.
Ele: A lot of healing, high regeneration and protection uptime.
Thief: Dodge, Stealth, Blinds.
and so on… well, I hope you get the idea.
Now back to the Revenant:
He has some healing traits and two heals. Is he supposed to survive through healing himself but the numbers are currently not balanced?
Maybe you can give me some insight how you managed (or failed) to survive.
