I would really laugh if all this time they continued to buff a collection item that isn’t even in the game (some place-holder item that never got used), while ignoring the one that was actually in the game.. Maybe one day the vines will make it in the game and have like 50% drop rate of the stuff.

I actually think this is happening, and I’m not laughing.

Kinda how it feels currently.

downloaded ~640MB before patch completed.

Not that it’s a massive difference just pointing it out for the curious few

Get over it! Its a mistake in wording: vine= passiflora plants.

Or its not a mistake and the root (no pun intended) of the problems they’ve had in the past while addressing the same issue.

Which is what i said in the OP before you blindly posted that garbage

Increasing the drop on a non existing entity does nothing.

Now then, if you have an internal label for passion vines you should check that the external source is matching that.

Currently all we can harvest from is Passiflora not Passion Vines.

Thought this should be brought up yet again since it’s in the current notes as if they were copied and pasted from the last time you did this and it didnt work.

But the player being a warrior that doesn’t do it right…might make what I said a bit right…eh?

Wasnt a knock on your statement so much as it is to the OP believing mobs in FHR are OP especially against warriors.

I found it mildly comical, considering most mobs there can basically be dropped by 1 use of Hundred blades (Excluding Vets / Champs).

Guild Missions [merged]

I love it how the main point of my argument has been forgotten because of something i said at the end. Ok admittedley joining a bigger guild isnt the best alternative for someone who is part of a very small guild. BUT IT IS A OPTION. And considering anyone can join in with the content as soon as it kicks off, there are other options for experiencing the content.

MY MAIN POINT THOUGH, is that small guilds cannot have everything their own way, just like large guilds cannot either. You make sacrifices because of play style and as Anet have stated again and again, there is a whole games worth of 5 man content out there, but nothing at all (apart from rubbish open world bosses) for larger groups to play.
The funny thing is i hear you all spouting about large guilds like they are null from problems. There are disadvantages and advantages to each type of guild (im actually a member of a few guilds, including a larger wvw one and small casual friends one).

Think about it like it was WOW. You know for a fact that to do any form of raid your 5 man guild will either have to
- recruit more
- play with another guild or group
- miss out on the content

Again ill say; YOU CANNOT HAVE EVERYTHING.

No i will not think of it like WoW. I play this game because its not Panda Sell Out to the extreme make me money more piles of money to wipe my rear end with.

If you want to think of this game which was advertised as being a stand out and something different than WoW, might i suggest you go play that game instead.

Those of us who still want the game to deliver on the promises made pre-beta and going into live still have every right to participate in the aspects of this game even if its with only 5 other people.

My main concern is that it’s in a branch that is utterly useless to most PvE focused guilds.

Those that honestly could care less about PvP/WvW. If they want to truly improve the guild system then they should think about why the heck a “Guild Mission” done in the Open world requires AoW a PvP centered tree to begin with.

They should honestly have just created a new PvE tree if their main concern was flushing out the Guild System instead of coming up with a half baked solution.

Two major issues ruining WvW

in WvW

Posted by: TexZero.7910

TexZero.7910

Im just gonna say my personal biggest gripe with WvW is the lack of a rotation for which map color you are starting on especially considering the maps are all mirrored and the same. Rank shouldn’t be the sole determining factor for what team color you are. Infact they should rotate out weekly if you are fighting the same two opponents over and over and over again.

nope, there’s evidence all over that thieves can attack and remain stealthed. videos have the evidence. secondly, I can see other classes as they attempt to unload their high cooldown low cast time attacks. unlike thieves that can spam high damage attacks and remain stealthed. lol.

Well I have a 80 Thief with hundreds of hours in PvP and I’m just informing you the class can’t attack and remain stealth. Period. There’s no consipracy here.

It can attack just after stealth duration ends naturally and then restealth instantly but that’s a single attack, almost no damage, and it still gives away position.

Secondly, that’s called class difference. Theves don’t have 25k HP + massive toughness + 3 out of 5 of their weapon skills being high AoE CC for example (aka zerg busting hammer warrior).

I call BS, and i dont mean backstab.

Plenty of videos have been posted showing exactly how to perma stealth and how to stay stealthed. Yes hitting someone as a Thief breaks stealth, however that is not what people are asking for. They want a theif to be knocked out of stealth when damaged, its that simple.

Also, your Zerg busting hammer warrior…Remind me again how it crits for 12k on a squishy and how it’s able to break LoS on a 2 second cooldown and heal to full.

Cause even running a Shout-Heal Hammer warrior you just cannot beat the fight resetting get out of jail free theives currently have.

PS Those skills cooldowns that you are mentioning are stupidly longer than any thieves skill cooldowns.

Wow so I mention sPvP and now I need to learn to read. I’m sorry if I considered that you were too lazy to actually learn your class enough to fight a build that is easily countered. So seeing as you were too lazy for that there was no way you’d level a thief to understand it so sPvP gives those too worried about forum wars to skip the leveling to see the full mechanics and possible counters. And I wvw every night with my guardian or warrior and after the first 2 weeks realized how to counter them. I won’t say L2P but a little research might make you less ignorant.

Speaking of ignorant

sPvP has seperate balance from PvE which WvW falls under. So stop using that as your basis for “working as intended”.

Also, i’d love too see some proof of you countering perma stealth on a warrior. Unless by counter you mean can’t be killed in which case you’ve done nothing but state what numerous others have. It’s an annoying mechanic that needs to be fixed.

Most thieves in WvW (not all use a generic cookie cutter CnD / BStab build). That’s why.

Note its not all they do, some mass stealth to just sit around cap points and back cap but thats been partially fixed. Aside from Anet reworking stealth to be broken on damage like it should be.

Really only dislike thieves en-mass abilities that allow them to reset fights without any penalties.

There needs to be a limit to stealth and a counter to it like a trail or a stealth break if damaged. Otherwise its just a broken mechanic.

I mean i had a thief today try to solo my warrior and it ended with me dancing as he couldnt burst through my def / HP but i couldnt kill him due to perma stealth and reset.

Not at all what i said.

Let me make it simpler

Video = Whiny ex-WoW player wondering why he doesnt feel tied to the game and compelled to grind

Answer to his not liking = No sub and the only grind is for Cosmetics

Guess what Guildwars 1 also didn’t have… A sub, and its only grind was for Cosmetics.

They kept those aspects. The removed the tedium of olden quest hubs (GW 1, LA / Kamadan etc) and made it follow a much more intuitive nature of you’re a hero go do some stuff.

The people who complain about the games lack of vertical progression but use the excuse GW2 was supposed to be revolutionary are the kinda that jumped on the bandwagon without ever doing the research.

It’s a pathetic and overused excuse. It’s like saying Fable sucked because it didn’t live up to all its promises.

The video is a terrible perspective.

It’s the same complaint from all WoW fanboys. We want vertical progression but we hate grinding bull. Then after playing this and realizing they aren’t tied by the balls (subscribed) they don’t know what to do. It’s literally the most comical thing in the world. Instead of playing the same amount they would in WoW they kitten and moan about how this game isnt WoW and doesnt have the same appeal. It’s not supposed to have that appeal. End game Guildwars has always been an armor grind to make your appearance look different than others and of course PvP(structured or otherwise).

Melee combat punishes inexperienced players, that’s all.

So all we need to do is to run the same encounter enough time that we can time our dodges and such on rote?

Lets just take this in another light.

When you first touched a basketball, where you an NBA Allstar like Mike ?
When you first played Chess were you as good as Bobby Fisher ?

Obvious answer is no. You may have had talent but talent without it being honed is wasted. You don’t have to run the same DE over and over but it helps if you play the game and question why you are using certain skills and when you are using them. Thus the whole idea behind the COMBO system. In melee this is even more important. Knowing when to burst finish water fields to gain a spike heal is just one prime example. It’s one that gets lost in team based play. Melee is naturally more hectic and without being able to slow down the combat on the field in your mind and not be erratic you will always have trouble. Thus it punishes inexperienced play.

It however greatly rewards those who are able to remain calm, and plan their actions without having the need to faceroll.

Playing with friends is difficult

Funny, i have a similar setup but none of the issues.

4 core friends, we setup our own guild and do weekly dungeon runs. We all chat in vent/skype depending on whats going on and have a blast.

Even got to the point where during the free weekend i was able to recruit a few more friends from other games to join in. Now our 5 man guild is about 12 strong. We have plenty of guild perks and influence available. The game never felt like a solitary game, every zone i go into i meet new people to adventure with and not compete against even on my 3rd /4th play through.

What’s the difference between my story and yours, probably the amount of time / effort / dedication we all have. Well and not being so lazy as to not pull up guild/friendslist.

Game feels incredibly anti-melee.

Allow guilds to form teams in Holiday Events

in Suggestions

Not just guilds….Parties of friends too.

The games whole promise was being able to enjoy these events with friends. Having them use the sPvP join mechanic is silly.

I don’t care if future world events are like the Karka but there’s no reason for disallowing people to form their own parties for any PvE-esque related achievements and events.

I get you dont want it to be a 1 sided stompfest, fine…you know how you change that ? Encourage people to play to win. Don’t give them this complete X objective which can only be attained by 1 outta the 10 people in there at any point in time as that is detrimental to team and objective based gameplay.

The achievements need to change to something everyone can do. Like Play X Rounds. Score X lifetime points. Not kill the carrier and cap.

Shockingly they aren’t as good as the ranger.

Its a difference in how the damage is dealt.

1500 range, tons of conditions and moderate damage.
1200 range constant sustained damage or 2 burst skills.

But that’s fine, we all get rangers are weaker than they should be. They aren’t however the garbage people want to make them out to be.

The stat change was global and effected PvE as well.

So now there’s virtually no difference (aside from precision / crit mods) between that Knights and Berserkers.

Emerald while it does give +Toughness doesnt give +Vitality which was the entire point of having Knights previously. +Tough and +Vit on the same jewel.

It was pretty much the same as having “solider” labeled gear for Jewelery but instead of having power you had precision.

Edited: Mislabeled a few stats. Also Emerald jewels are (insert long Materials used here) Of the KNIGHT

- Updated Knight’s Jewel so that it appropriately grants Power rather than Toughness.

I just simply do not understand why you would do this to a good item set. Not only does it screw over a bunch of people who have crafted these items specifically in mind for being as tanky as possible but it leaves us with very little alternatives that we actually want.

Now we have to mix and match 3 jewel sets to even become anywhere near as beefy as we were prior to the patch.

You could have simply fixed other lackluster jewels and given them a damage component but removing the all in defensive stat jewel just irks me to no end.

I’d really love to hear the justification behind the change in stats and whats going to be done going forward.

Now there’s no mechanic in place to fight back of course its going to slowly fade away.
If they want to fix WvW, fix the way territory control is handled and how bonuses are given to people within the realm. If you’re already winning you dont need a win-harder buff you should be rewarded with more magic find or slightly stronger keep lords. Not everyone getting +150 stats. That’s what needs to be on the losing realms side so as to give them the shot to fight back even when outmanned.
