Underwater content is lackluster in general. Personally would rather have SAB back than anything to deal with water combat.

Server stacking is a result of attrition (people leaving the game). Every game goes through this. As population gradually decreases, people look to move to servers that have more people to play with/against during their timezone. It’s got very little to do with the matchup system and there is no solution.Wrong.
Instead of putting incentives to transfer to over-stacked servers with every season, there could be incentives to move to under-populated worlds. We know from the seasons, that these incentives have a large effect. I would be easy to turn them around.
There is no incentive to stack for this season. It’s week by week. Enjoy getting a skin regardless of performance.

From this response from JonPeters and his initial post it is obvious that Anet is not going to fix their new leveling process or trait system except the individual tasks themselves.
I’m discouraged since I used to like leveling new alts but can live with just playing my level 80s instead.
To be clear we are looking at the system as a whole but recognize that changing that will take longer than is satisfying and are looking for ways to improve the current system until a time at which we can make a better overall system from the ground up. Specific suggestions on what traits are poorly placed are helpful for #1, specific suggestions on #2 are also welcome but are going to be read but not responded too right now.
It’s all horrible from a design standpoint. We get that you want us to experience game content. But some of us want to experience the fun of the game that is class building. Speaking from the position of playing at launch i had far more fun when i had a multitude of build paths instantly available to me upon buying a trait book than i have ever had playing this new system.
The new system needs to go in part. Give players back the trait books and upon expanding the world add new traits to be unlocked via doing content or buying it.

If you call what they are doing playing. It’s actually quite ironic how quickly Anet shuts down PvE Farming and Exploiting yet when it comes to EoTM everything is fine and dandy. Considering at launch i had my first 80 within the 3rd day…It is slow.
Then again that was leveling with pre-nerf crafting experience, Playing the game, and exploring / doing events. All of which triggered far faster than they currently do. The games pace has been brought to a standstill worse than midday LA traffic.
Let’s not mention the abomination that is the “new” trait system. Because apparently encouraging build diversity and multiple playstyles is not a good idea. Instead let’s pigeon hole players (new/old) into using the meta builds and just buying select traits.
It’s time to abolish this system, give us back the book system and only use the unlock feature for brand new traits.
here the trinity has nothing to do. we already have heavy and medium classes staying in front of the line and lighter, squishy class and build staying in outskirts of battles or lines or in a charge. Body blocking can give a good cut at zergs cause the bigger the grp is the worst it fair in close battle and finally small grp can actually fight larger in bottleneck. It would really be more realistic and tactical.
But you know..the game must be fun, ppl have to train go through everything getting loot or get bored, no space for tactics or real fights.
So you’re adamant that you never see any Ele going forward for a static or chill. A necro going forward for a Well of Corruption ?

The reason zerging is effective is hard rezzing. If you’re dead, you should not have a 15minute pass to be revived. Let’s not get into the fact that it’s exploitable.
It can but not the way its currently being shipped. Too much time in between fixes and features. This leads to stale gameplay. Class and Profession balance/updates really shouldn’t be an every 6-7 month thing. That’s a bit drastic.
I can understand not wanting to knee jerk balance, but you could atleast push the major bug fixes or even new traits/skills with each Living World update and it wouldn’t be confusing.
- Re-playable former living world components would be nice (Marionette)
- Custom Guild Activities Arena would be amazing (Keg Brawl / Sanctum Sprint / etc)
- More Region Specific events (Sandstorm / Blizzard / Monsoon / etc)
- New Maps with a dynamic roll-out (Southsun) not so much dry top as it really lacked the epic nature that was Karkageddon.
Outside of those things perhaps designing more uses for Personal Story / Living Story.

For example, I think we could clean up some of the issues with the Shatterer and just make it a more engaging experience. So rather than spending the entire fight hiding under his right paw he could, say, turn his head and attack that area? :] It doesn’t have to be hard, just a little more involved.
We tried to put in a few changes here and there when we added the new world boss timers. Reactions varied.
The dragon fights are underwhelming due to the dragons being nothing more than loot pinata’s. If they truly lived up to being lieutenants and were more active in battle i doubt you’d see much complaints. As is the big bad dragon is too dumb to even swipe left / right. Let alone change his fight mechanics varying on where the cluster is / isn’t.
Seems like a waste of resources and time imo.

If DB/YB/CD all decided to take next match off would their glicko scores all drop because their match scores were lower than the expected totals or would they all stay relatively the same since thier glicko scores are close?
CD seems to be trying to win this week for whatever reason, or their karma train is just that much better than ours. Glicko looks virtually zero-sum within a matchup so if we had a 3-way tankfest next week they would be generally unchanged. If anything, everyone’s rating would move closer to the average as one server would be doing (very slightly) better than expected and one would be doing worse.

Anet has yet to address their poorly designed maps and exploiting into every keep is still possible. Fix that before even remotely considering any Relic / Orb mechanic.
I’m trying to figure out how smaller groups are dropping meteor bombs into huge groups without instantly melting from the retal, because that’s generally what happens when I see it used in that way. Even more hilarious is when someone slams #4 Ice Bow into a zerg.
There’s the nifty utilities called Null Field and Well of Corruption. You should look into them.

Anthony, can you tell me why karma seems much less important now that it has been at release?
We have added a few karma sinks along the way but typically new content comes with a new currency, eg. candy corn or geodes. I haven’t personally implemented all of this content or currency but if I had to guess I would say that this pattern exists because we actually want to give you specific rewards for specific content.
It’s nice that you care about that. But how about utilizing that feature you have in place called a wallet ?
If each content patch is going to add a new currency aka Geode’s then please god add them to the wallet. There’s 0 reason to add currency but not update the wallet and UI to reflect it.

I’ve had plenty of exotics (including four of the same rifle) and three ascended. Out of 670ish chests. One ascended per 200-300 chests isn’t that bad.
If I ever got to diamond rank I’m pretty sure I’d have whole sets of ascended by then.
out of the 700+ chest i’ve received i can count on one hand the number of exotics and ascended items. Five. 4 rings and 1 exotic.

Unintended or not, this weapon does damage (33 for me), targets bad guys, and has a physical projectile finisher (as stated in the weapon card).
I’ve been doing world bosses with it today and it’s doing pretty good getting me rewards

You can punish mindless blobbing without ever hitting stats…
It’s called forced respawn. If you’re dead you no longer have a 15 minute dead state that can be exploited to be infinite. Instead you have 30 seconds to click the nearest waypoint or be removed from the battle and given a “rallybot” debuff much like the dishonored debuff.
A fix is currently being prepared for this issue.
While the behavior (design) of this event was acceptable in the past, changes in the game over time have created an environment around this event that has become increasingly toxic (for the community) due to unintended use/change of mechanics.
Players should not feel that they are in the wrong for completing an event (or event chain), and that is what is happening with this event. The respawn timer for this event will be significantly increased.
So the idea rather than fix it in a meaningful way…was to increase the timer ?
Did it not ever come into factor that people are failing the events because you guys keep nerfing rewards ?
Do you want people to play your game or are you intentionally trying to tell them to stop. Because as it currently is your doing a dang good job at telling them the to play the game you want them to play, the way you want them to and at the times you want. The exact opposite of the product many people signed on for when they bought the game.

I wouldn’t mind another color, Green in this case. However, im sure the color blind players will complain that they cannot tell the difference.
The reason why they are not open anymore, browse the forums, every time they try to be open and they can’t deliver, they get a major backlash.
Funny if i had a job to do and i didn’t deliver, I’d be fired. If the only recourse were my boss giving me a talking to i don’t think i’d mind it as much.
Food for thought, at the end of the day they are out to make a product for their community. The best way to do that is not to ignore them, but to involve them in the process.

Anet as a company has only grown in number since they shipped. It’s up to them to get the right people for the right jobs.
WvW updates are a clear example of where this has gone horrifically wrong. Devon and his merry bunch have all but ignored the issues plaguing that. Is that his fault ? No, it’s on Anet management for shifting him to an environment he cannot handle. He did good for open world content, however his WvW content fixes and updates are all but backwards.

If a WvW guild is strapped for cash, I don’t want them to be running 3 commander tags at once. Raising 300g is not a big deal for even a medium sized guild. I spent more than that on my wife’s precursor, and lord knows I spent more than that on other goofy stuff over the last couple years.
Many people can’t afford it. That’s fine. Should these people be able to get commander tags so they can look important or cool? If it’s expensive, fewer people will buy them just for laughs or to complete a collection, and that’s a Good Thing.

The tags should be split between PvE and WvW. The jokers who want to pay 1500 gold for a rainbow can. Those of us who WvW can be satisfied by tying it to world rank / badges. Then anet can nerf the abomination known as EoTM and actually fix WvW so it has meaningful fights.
But that would require a WvW team that understood what the WvW players (not karma train EoTM babies) want.

Should just be a generic window pane with a list of selectable colors. At the very least on the initial log-in after the change you should be able to select your color.
I’d still rather a window pane so players can organize better on the fly. Rather than running into that odd situation where 4 commanders all have the said Blue tag.
