Don’t forget the copper-fed ‘join’ and ‘invite’ o-matic
That allows players to add their friends to the group on the first attempt without having to know if they need to use join or invite.
Clearly anet dropped the ball with the maize balm.
ToT bag drops need removal.
Stuff like this happens.
Counter arguements like this happen:

Honestly.. What the hell were you thinking anet?
Most of the posts you linked are people discussing Arenanet employees banning griefers preventing people from farming….. not banning people for farming.
Male Charr players have lots of problems with their faces clipping with their headgear.
This particular charr face I have chosen, seems to clip with absolutely every helm that covers the front of his face.
The last picture is so that you can see which face it is I am talking about and test for yourself.

Additionally…. Mr. Developer person….. if you are going to be fixing anything in this mission, you may also want to remove the regular krait who seem to have managed to assimilate themselves in with the undead…. seeing as how they are still alive and all.
I think this whole raffle thing is funny.
You have a chance to get wrappers from ToT bags…. and the wrappers give you a chance to win the raffle.
A chance to win a chance……
It’s like a bad xzibit meme.
Yo Dawg, I herd you like RNG, so I put RNG in your RNG….
Honestly…. this is a godsend.
Target nearest enemy should do just that….. target the nearest enemy.
I’m not sure where this “field of view” thing originated…. but it is extremely awkward to attempt to target an enemy who can be right next to you, just offscreen, and you can’t target them because of the way you have the camera rotated….
Additionally, take a look at this screenshot prior to the patch….
I’m trying to target the ettin who is closest…. but the game will not let me because he is hiding behind the sapling like something out of a bad cartoon.
Players are able to pet swap and use their pet skills in downed state.
Regardless of if this is or isn’t overpowered, I feel like this is an oversight and should be altered to maintain uniformity between classes in down-state.
So now the agenda is to nerf a profession.
Time to move or lock this thread, please.
I’m not sure why my response upset you, but that was not my intention. Just to elaborate a bit more, I would like to express how important it is for all classes to have a separate but equal downed state.
Having the ability to pet swap and execute pet skills essentially puts two additional skills into the hands of every downed-state ranger — One for each pet.
While that may or may not sound fair to you, I want you to realize that it is an unfair advantage that the ranger has over all of the other professions in the game.
In addition, this oversight can be used in conjunction with traits which lengthen conditions, essentially allowing for some pretty unfair downed state fights.
(I’m talking about wolf fear and the pets which apply immobilize)

….yeah without a player or something to add perspective…. it just looks like a regular chicken to me.
Has anyone in this thread held onto their Candy-powered Matter Meter?
If I recall you needed that item to scan for the ghosts in the other areas.
Has anyone tried using it, or are you guys just going to the locations empty handed expecting the ghosts to appear?
In the original guild wars, players repeated content with hopes of getting a rare weapon, and almost all the time they walked away without getting the rare loot.
I mean…. after all… the loot won’t be worth anything if it drops all the time.
The only difference in Guild Wars 2 is that, you can’t trade these rewards with other players.
You can’t sell your Teq Hoard, and it has no value to you if you do not like the skin or the stats on the weaponry…. when there might be a player right next to you who likes both the stats and the skin and would be willing to play a lot of money for it.
In this case, both players lose.
In the original guild wars, I thought the frog scepter looked dumb…. but that doesn’t mean I didn’t farm the dungeon and sell the scepters when I got them from the end chest.
GW1: Rare drop that you don’t want = $$$$$$
GW2: Rare drop that you don’t want = garbage.
OP is clearly abusing the ledge in the Lunatic Inquisition.
You can tell by the way he dances around giving the whole story.
I personally think it should be removed from the game, and in the meantime players who go up on that ledge should be punished for ruining the fun of the other players.
Players are able to pet swap and use their pet skills in downed state.
Regardless of if this is or isn’t overpowered, I feel like this is an oversight and should be altered to maintain uniformity between classes in down-state.
Hello all…
If you are anything like me, I’m sure that once or twice you have had a “kitten” appear in your posts while you weren’t even using any vulgar language.
I’ve created this thread so everyone can share their improper censorship moments and hopefully have some of the filter restrictions lifted.
Feel free to post some of the ones you have found.
Mesmer: (Present tense) I am shattering my clones.
Mesmer: (Past tense) I wkittentering my clones.
I’m not sure exactly why this occurred, but while doing a FotM today a mesmer on my team waz shattering his clones and they were actually shattering with real explosions.
We were on the uncategorized fractal in the room where you must fight the Champ Ettin and Fire Shaman.
When I say exploding, I mean a sudden fiery burst as if a bomb had gone off followed by a lingering smoke cloud.
This became terribly frustrating since the explosions and the smoke cloud that lingered for a few moments afterward completely blocked out view of the champion mobs we were trying to fight, making it impossible to see the foes (or the tells that let you know which attack they are about to use).
I’m fairly certain this is a bug, unless the mesmer was running some sort of trait that mesmers don’t normally run that I do not know about.
I’m used to seeing lots of little purple butterflies fly away, not gunpowder explosions.
Please look into this, its really annoying.
Definitely very cool.
I will be saving up my money to buy the black one….. I just hope i can get enough before the price skyrockets after halloween ends.
In Guild Wars 1, you could only be cc’d again after getting back to your feet.
I don’t know why they decided to change it for GW2…. but I completely agree it is annoying.
It took a while to get used to, and even though I am used to it and have been playing since launch, there are still times where its like….. holy kitten I’m a kittening ping pong ball getting bounced around.
It is just the way arenanet decided to code the game mechanics, but I do agree, to this day there are still times where its like “Wtf, really?”
The ceiling of the Abaddon temple has the same 6 orbs with different symbols surrounding a middle one with a world inside. Maybe Abaddon was behind the Elder dragons following the gods to Tyria from their own.
Lord and master of buthurt, Abbadon…. wasn’t allowed to play with the other gods…. and got beaten by humans….. so called forth the dragons as part of the ultimate assdamaged scheme.
What we see in the video is the heroes of the Living Story approaching Ogden at the Priory, looking through a storeroom of artifacts, and opening up an hourglass.
We also see the Living Story heroes traveling to a crystal area.
I believe…..
This crystal area is the same place where heroes defended the Baby Dragon in Guild Wars.
Ogden transports the heroes to the Dragon’s Lair by breaking open the hourglass.
Why I think this:
“Glint, known as Keeper of the Flameseeker Prophecies, Protector of the Forgotten, Foe of the Lich Lord, and Downfall of the Titans, is an ancient dragon prophet living within a single grain of sand in the Crystal Desert.”
living within a single grain of sand
You see the Living hero stories speaking with Ogden, and looking through priory artifacts and breaking open an hourglass and getting sucked in.
I would be willing to bet that the hourglass contains the sands that contain the dragon’s lair.
The stone dwarves were the ones defending Glint’s offspring.
…and it would only make sense that Ogden was still protecting the secret whereabouts of the dragon. And he has the sand safely stored away in an hourglass with him at the priory.
The place where the baby is located, though different than Glint’s Lair, is also inside a grain of sand
“The dragon child is safe inside a fortress… a tiny shard of sand within the massive Crystal Desert” – Consular Brand Oakencask
Step 1: Push a Dry Top to T6.
Step 2: Look at T6 Vendor, and realize it sells only crap.
Step 3: Never come back to Dry Top.
The issue is that the mad king’s lab areas have a small player cap (25?).
So it goes from “people on the map” 10-15…. to “world is full” very quickly.
Its not that people aren’t doing the lab….. its just that people are all doing the lab on full servers.
While this doesn’t make it any less frustrating, I hope at least you understand why this is happening to you.
I’ve noticed this with other leap skills as well.
It is not just rocket boots.
Sometimes warrior sword 2.
Guardian GS 3.
Ranger Gs3.
Its just arenanet slowly breaking their game with every patch.
Players who use Thieves cried complained about it enough on the forums that got some patches put in to fix some of their issues….. but all the other classes ended up getting the short end of the stick.
Warriors having it the worst since their gap closers don’t connect at all anymore.
I think anet already knows their game is dead.
Leaving an already dead game?
That will show em!
Shatter mesmers are really good against zerk classes, in the sense that they have enough invuln and burst to just remain invuln for 100% of a 1v1 until the foe is dead.
They go belly up against any condi/tank builds, since they blow their load and then they are a free kill.
I’ve opened 400g worth of bags and the best thing I’ve gotten was two mini zuzu cats.
Nothing like fighting someone for a point and suddenly having a back full of arrows from 1300 range.
You have already absorbed all the damage before you even realize a ranger has decided to join the skirmish. It is cheap, skill-less, and outright abused in spvp atm.
You are reading text between the lines that simply isn’t there.
No I’m not; these are your words verbatim. You got shot in the back by a ranger because you were trying to pay attention to the fight on a node with another player.
I gave a scenario about how absurdly overpowered longbow rangers are.
That scenario isn’t overpowered. Ganking is part of the game.
They don’t stop being overpowered in a 2v2 or a 3v3, but things get easier as players are free to leave the point and chase down the ranger as a teammate holds a cap/decap.
Bottom line is….. in a game type where you are forced to hold capture points, lb power rangers can stand at max range and essentially pelt players fighting on point with high damage attacks, (with absolutely no fear of losing a max range fight)
This is another issue entirely. You need to learn when it is okay and when it isn’t okay to stay on a point, and this includes determining if you should be actively fighting or not. I can assure you, between dieing and holding that decap for a few more seconds, or abandoning the point to stay alive. Almost always its better to abandon to stay alive.
I’m honestly not going to argue with you about any of this any more.
You aren’t refuting any of my claims about rangers, and are instead attributing what I see as overpowered as my lack of understanding game mechanics.
I can tell you right now that looking up your stats, total games, win/loss ratio that you are in no position to accuse me of not understanding how pvp works.
(kitten , I went there)
…and can also make a safe assumption that you are merely defending rangers because you just started playing one after the longbow ranger patch.
Again.
Nobody is saying anything about ganking.Nothing like fighting someone for a point and suddenly having a back full of arrows from 1300 range.
You have already absorbed all the damage before you even realize a ranger has decided to join the skirmish. It is cheap, skill-less, and outright abused in spvp atm.
Actually you are specifically talking about ganking. +1’ing a fight that is already occurring is ganking. If you want to prevent that from happening, you need to stop tunnel-visioning, glance at the map, and position yourself better – plain and simple.
I am saying that, in your very specific example, if you do not want to be 1 shot by rangers like this, then you need to pay better attention to the map.
Nobody is saying anything about getting one shot, either.
You are reading text between the lines that simply isn’t there.
I gave a scenario about how absurdly overpowered longbow rangers are.
When someone leaves a capture point to go fight said ranger, he has a lengthy invulnerability skill, 30 seconds of stability, and the furthest gap closer skill (ranger GS 3, swoop) to turn around and retreat at the earliest sign of confrontation.
I have tagged the champ warbeasts at Modniir Ulgoth in this exact fashion the day after I first got into it with you in this thread. I made it a point to be the very first person to tag one of the warbeasts, dealt about 3k dmg, and moved to the next, fought it from 70% hp to 60% hp then moved onto the last warbeast, and fought it until it died (50% hp till death).
The only champ that dropped an embroidered saddle bag was the one that I stuck with for the kill.
I 100% thought of this thread as I was doing this, because I KNEW I was not going to get loot from the first two champs, but I did so just the same in the sake of science.
Lo and behold, the very first person to tag the mob, no loot awarded because I did not participate enough.
So, uh… in the time it took you to deal 3000 damage to a Warbeast, the second one you went to tag was already down to 70% health by the time you got to it? Of course you’re only going to get one champion bag out of that, you were too late to tag the other two by far if you weren’t hitting them until one was at 70% and the other was at 50%. The only issue here is that you’re confused about where your bag came from. It didn’t come from the one you killed at the end, it came from the first one you hit at the start.
If you want to get all three champion bags in that scenario, you need to make sure you tag all three of them while they’re still at 95% plus health, so that you’re one of the first people to hit each of them. Go give that a try.
(and you either need better DPS gear, or you need to better recognise which of the three champs is going to be targeted first by the zerg so you can make sure it’s the first one you tag before going off to get the ones left largely alone at the start)
You have a powerful imagination or simply fail at reading comprehension.
First off….. I clearly stated I was the first person to tag the mob.
Second…. The beasts are almost always very clearly separated, and not bunched on top of eachother, unless the players coordinate to pull them all together….. (which is something I have not seen since zerging Harathi Hinterlands was popular shortly after launch.)
It was VERY clear which beast dropped the champ bag.
And finally…. its funny how easily you change your opinion when I test something, specifically as you requested….. and do not get the results you want. You almost completely abandoned your argument, and said that “I need to do more dps.”
Which is what I have been saying all along!
(edited by TheBlackLeech.9360)
You can’t watch your back 100% of the time or else you will not be watching your foe.
You should know where the potential problem for you is on the map, plain and simple, and reposition yourself accordingly to better respond where they are going to be coming from. If you’re fighting on one point, you need to be aware that a gank CAN happen. If you can’t see the potential problem fighting on another node, you cannot simply deduce that you’re going to be safe. Nobody can merit being on a point and advocating players to be blissfully unaware of what is going on around them or tunnel-visioning on the guy they might be fighting. In other words, don’t push the lane and put yourself out of position if you think you’re going to get ganked.
Again.
Nobody is saying anything about ganking.
Ganking is a part of pvp.
Owning players unexpectedly from max range is op.
Notice how I’m not complaining about thieves, or mesmers, or enigneers, or necromancers, or elementalists, guardians, or warriors, or even rangers in general.
I’m complaining about one ranger build, particularly power ranger longbow.
You are missing the point entirely.
Edit: removed all of the “kittens”
I share your sentiment, good sir…. only I have been playing the game, unlike you.
I was anxiously awaiting halloween, since there is a distinct lack of things in the game that do not qualify as busy work/chores….
and what do we get?
A copy/paste halloween whose only replay value from last year is to earn more ap.
This “AP” might as well be a list of chores to do….. a list of chores that we have already done.
They didn’t even add a tier two to the master carver title…. the way they did with “acclaimed achiever” or the “loyal” titles. …so you just earn the same title you’ve had since ages ago.
Giving players recycled busy work to do =/= content.
OP is a troll..his ID is xxxx.9562.if he played gw2 for more than 2 years there is no way that 4 digits start with 9….more like less than 3 months
That has nothing to do with how long he has been playing…
I’m 9360 and i have been playing since headstart.
It is cheap, skill-less, and outright abused in spvp atm.
I dare you to disagree.
If I had a cookie for every time I’ve heard how ganking other players is cheap and skill-less and abused, I’d be very fat because I love cookies.
It’s the dota equivalent of, “Mid is missing from his lane? Hurpa Durp, better push the lane.”
Learn to position yourself better.
Nobody is talking about Dota, ganking, or cookies.
Ganking is fine as long as –
A) Its not done from 1300 range
B) You know a second foe has engaged and have at least split second to react.
“Positioning” doesn’t get much better than fighting on point, while watching possible paths from which additional foes may approach. But even the most vigilant pvper will not see every 1300 range attack coming. You can’t watch your back 100% of the time or else you will not be watching your foe.
This is all easy to test. You’ve gone from saying that “none of these tests could work” to “my guild of five hundred people have all tested this”, which leads me to believe that you’re being a bit dishonest with the latter point. I find it hard to believe that there’s four hundred and ninety nine other people in your guild who are so hard-headed as to make claims based on popular assumption without actually trying things out themselves.
Tested, meaning of course past tense.
This topic of conversation came and went ages ago.
The urban legend made its way into my guild and our world even train, and we all tested it together.
That is why when I say I tested again, I literally mean that I tested all of this before, came to a conclusion and definitive answer, and abolished any notion of the party-up for better drops myth.
Forget about the “Parties get better loot” thing for a moment. Stick with the “Only the first X players to hit an enemy get loot” thing to start. Go test that, using the methods I’ve given, rather than repeatedly trying to brush it off. Get yourself a champion loot bag while doing only 2000 damage. Watch yourself miss out on champion loot bags while doing 40000 damage. See the truth for yourself. Then we can get back to talking about what effect parties have or don’t have.

Lo and behold, the very first person to tag the mob, no loot awarded because I did not participate enough. The best part is, I was in a party with players who got champ bags from the two beasts I did not get bags from.
lengthy response.
No…. I’m not a “victim” and I altered my playstyle to go out of my way and test these absurd notions you have about how the loot system works in this game. Just in case…. due to some random hidden patch by anet, something has changed since the last time I tested all of this.
I have tested, even though I am sure of the outcome, and found results disproving all of the placebo “party-up for better loot”.
Now, again….. nobody is saying that people do not miss out on loot boxes from time to time.
But in my personal experiences and tests, along with the experiences and tests of my 500 guild mates who also participate in the daily world event train…..
Everything we’ve experienced points100% to lack of participation, partied or not.
Aside from not getting loot due to this “bug” / lack of participation, the title of this thread, and the discussion within is pertaining to the outcome of loot with a party and loot without a party.
Bug or no bug…
Players do not have a guaranteed champ box if they are in a party.
Players do not have an increased chance of a champ box for being in a party.
Parties have absolutely nothing to do with whether you do or do not get a champ box.
I am really waiting and hoping for a dev response in this thread now.
And I hope it isn’t another one of those “We’re looking into it.” responses, either.
I hope he goes into great detail about how being in a party does nothing as far as drops/ eventparticipation is concerned, so I can give you a great big “I told you so.”
However, if you’re partied, that minimum damage requirement becomes much more relaxed, counting your party’s total damage rather than each player individually.
This is just not true.
I don’t know where you heard this, or where you got this from, but this is completely 100% false.
You can test this yourself anywhere in the game…. but dungeons for example are the best way.
If you show up late to a boss fight, and tag after the boss has been lowered to 10% hp, you can still miss out on your champ bag.
Everyone attacking the boss is in the same party including you, and there are no other outside forces dealing damage to the boss.
Unless you are suggesting that loot drops are for some magical reason changed at world events, I’d say you are just mistaking placebo for actual results.
However, if you’re the 100th player to hit the enemy champion, but you’re partied with the 15th player to hit that same enemy champion, he will share the loot rights through the party with you, thus allowing you to break the “only the first X number of players to hit the enemy get loot credit” bug.
This is also false.
There is no “cap” on the amount of players who receive loot at a world boss event.
I know you are saying this is a bug, and it might not always be present…. but I find it rather ironic that this “bug” is never around when myself or anyone else has tested your “reserved loot spot” theory.
You know, in the four days it’s been since last you’ve posted, you could have easily done any of the things I’ve suggested already to learn the truth for yourself. Is there a reason you’re resistant to trying this out? Are you afraid to be proven wrong?
I participate in a world boss train every day.
Sometimes with a party, sometimes without.
The only thing I have noticed is the contrary to your claims.
IE: Missing out on champ boxes while being in a party.
I’m definitely not afraid of being wrong, haha.
The entire reason I’m responding to your “pseudo-science” is because I’d really like to see people spreading factual information around, rather than good luck rituals.
People sure come up with some interesting reasons to try to justify their urban legends. The nice thing about it, though, is that there’s always a way to test it to disprove them, if people want to put in the effort to do so.
There is no “test” that you have mentioned thus far that has done anything whatsoever to support the claim that being in a party increases your loot.
If you want to accuse people of “justifying their urban legends” perhaps you should look in the mirror.
overall turret emg is fine but there’s some portion that need balance.
for e.g. in map like spirit garden. A eng can just summon turret to guard orb afterwhich he can leave the turret there going to help cap pt. its seriously annoying at least deactivate the turret when the eng is far away from the turret
If an engineer is traited for turrets he will be next to useless if he is not near them.
He will be doing practically no damage, and at most will be able to lend a hand with an occasional knockback.
Maybe you never had it spelled out for you, Anet….. but Autobalance and Teamswap need to be removed from hotjoin sPvP
Here is why…..
Say you are in a match where the score is:
Red
45Blue
380The score is so one-sided because red team has 4 players and the blue team has 5.
One of the players on the red team pushes the B button…. and goes into spectator mode… creating a shortage of two players for the red team
……forcing a player to be Autobalanced to red from the blue team.
As soon as the autobalance occurs…. the teams will then be even, and the player who is spectating can now join the winning team instead of being on the losing team.
Even if he gets returned to the losing team due to a future autobalance, he will still receive credit for winning.
Please remove this from Hotjoin spvp….. people are abusing is so much, it is absurd.
ppl caring about hotjoin…i usually go there just to test stuff and troll….who cares hj is kitten and full of kitten, we have WAY more important things to fix before looking at hotzerg
Why wouldn’t people care about hotjoin?
The only reason nobody cares about it in its current state is because it is so horribly screwed up that there is almost no point in even playing beyond the point of testing builds.
We shouldn’t settle for broken content in any shape or form.
It does hit the target. In my experience the occasions in which it tends not to is when the player moves out or range from the initiating point. That is what happens the majority of the time it happens to me. I mean, if it was such a problem, why are there not videos of it pasted all over the forums like there are for rocket boots in the bug thread for that skills problems? For that matter, why is there such a lack of foresight that this thread isn’t in the bug sub forums?
You can’t say the problem doesn’t exist just because you have not experienced it.
There are dozens of threads about this, dating as far back as early last year.
Go to the Godslost swamp in Queensdale, and go to the shack in the middle, there are lots of birds and frogs there.
most likely it is a DDoS attack. This is where someone uses a bunch of computers to sent data to the server, thus flooding it. Not much they can do but wait until the person doing it gets bored.
No.
Wrong.
Every time Anet has server issues it is not “most likely a DDoS attack”
Nobody knew what a ddos attack was till it happened last year and now every single connection issue players have is a “ddos attack”
Stop it already.
“Minions”
Necro is one of the better classes in pvp atm imho.
Try running Power Necro or Terrormancer and ditch the minions, lol
The title should read “What if bull’s charge actually hit the target” making it a teleport is a dumb idea.
Just make the skill work as intended and the world will be a better place.
The only reason this skill is not OP is because it can be blocked, evaded, obstructed, if the mesmer is blind, it will miss, etc.
Complete waste of an elite if for whatever reason it fails to connect to the target.
auto balance and team swapping is not the problem, the problem is, players like your good self (TheBlackLeech) very much prefers to stay on the team of 5 to steam roll the players in the team of 4.
you just admitted it yourself in your first post.
the correct method to fix this problem is to make it that the teams are even always, not 5 vs 4
4 vs 3
3 vs 2
2 vs 1but
5 vs 5
4 vs 4
3 vs 3
2 vs 2
1 vs 1
I don’t do this, ever.
I’m tired of watching others do this.
…………………bump
Linen farm: create endless mobs, kill mobs, get loot.
Ambient farm: create endless mobs, kill mobs, get loot.Linen farm: some players don’t want want to farm linen. Farmers do this for them and sell on TP. People pay market price.
Ambient farm: some players don’t want/can no longer farm ambients. Farmers do this for them, and sell results on TP. People pay market price.Linen farm: mass bans.
Ambient farm: Dev-approved.???
Except that you need to purchase a consumable to use to do this farm.
The price of the consumable versus the price of the output is what made this farm viable.
Lets look at it this way:
You have consumable A that is worth 8s on TP.
You have consumable B that is only worth 4s on TP.
Nobody realized that consumable B can create anywhere from 3 to 9 of consumable A.
After people realized, now prices reflect actual values.
Consumable B now worth 13s and consumable A 7s.
The fact that you need to throw the consumable at an ambient has nothing to do with it at all. It might as well be a bag that gives 3-9 ToT bags.
The Dev even stated that the players set the prices of these items…
I don’t know how hard it is for you to realize that nothing is being created that was never intended…. the balms could have been implemented as a new type of bag that just gave you 3-9 tot bags, and nobody would have said anything…… but you add a little randomness and a little work and voila.
Cheap ToT bags for anyone actually paying attention to what the consumable did early on, and now that ppl have caught on, its not even that cheap any more.
