This isnt actually a moaning thread. Yes, seriously, im not going to moan! Strange, I know but ive got something I need to share with everyone that could change the way some of you see GW2 (or at least thats my hope).
So about two months ago I was on the verge of quitting. I agreed with many others that the game didnt have enough content to keep me interested and playing. Being that I enjoyed leveling, the ease of getting to max level in the game annoyed me and the world seemed to have less and less to offer me. But instead of quitting I joined a popular guild on a popular server and that has gone a long way towards keeping me playing.
Now over the past couple of months ive finally realised just how im MEANT to play GW2. It sounds a little weird but bare with me. GW2 is designed with the casual in mind and for a hardcore player like me this conflicted with what I wanted in an MMO. But gradually ive realised GW2’s purpose- its here for fun. It sounds corny but (and this is opinion until proved otherwise) its designed with the intention that it wont hold your full attention for 12+ hours a day. Its designed to play for a little bit, have fun and then for you to go away and do something else for a little while before coming back to it.
Ive always said that if another MMO came along that ticked all the right boxes then id quit GW2. Recently ive come to the conclusion that this probably wont happen as there is no reason to quit GW2. Its always there, its free to play, it brings new content each month thats fun…. whether I start playing another MMO or not is besides the point. GW2 is so easy to pick up and play that I can see myself regularly checking the website for new updates and stories and even if im logging in a few times a month thats fine. While its not the hardcore experience I crave its an ever changing MMO that I can see myself supporting. Think of it like a TV show… you wouldnt expect 12hrs of content a day would you? Just regular ‘episodes’ that keep you watching (playing).
So for those moaning about the lack of farming opportunities, the nerfs and the fact the game isnt hardcore enough for you to stay….youre not playing the game how its meant to be played. Youre not experiencing the game in the way its intended and youre not seeing just what GW2 really is. Its a truly casual game that says ‘im here when you want me’. Treat it that way and youll start to see things brightening up.

One thing to keep in mind is that Boon Hate will be 30 into the Discipline line….I dont know of any warriors in my guild that run that far into the line.
The only time this will be beneficial to the point that its OP is having one or two warriors in WvW specifically looking for players with a ton of boons on.

Most posts in this thread have the right idea but a few just annoy the hell out of me. Yes WvW is all about the killing and yes the JPs are PvP areas (and should stay that way). But in a 1on1 situation why is it that some people feel the need to stomp a guy who is just there for an achievement/some badges? It doesnt make the thing between your legs any bigger…
I dont understand people who think it makes them ‘the big man’ to kill a player who doesnt want to fight. Its disrespectful…but there are idiots out there who think that if they win a 1on1 fight against someone with a handicap (not prepared to fight) means theyre the better GW2 player. Catch me in a JP and youll beat me as I do very little damage….doesnt make me the worse player. Its just the fact that I play a specific role within my guild group.
Saying that…. /bow has always been a go-ahead to duel in my eyes. Non-combatants that I come across usually stand still and jump a couple of times. I jump a couple of times as well and then we both know that neither wants a fight.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
I personally would love it…but I think a lot would have to change in order to facilitate it. You could introduce a standard ‘block’ button and then have skills that block and do something else also but this would change the playstyle of the game completely. You could probably counter the fact that events/fights would take longer by boosting damage but I dont know…lots of tweaking.

As an officer id just like to say that the changes seen in FG over the past few weeks have been pretty kitten awesome! Its a lively, busy, manic place to be where everyone can have fun and work together to achieve their goals. But along with this we have structure and are currently doing pretty kitten well in WvW, helping our new server Piken Square to climb up the ranks.
The guild is a lot of fun to be in and no matter what youre problem we’re here to support and help you. Join us today either via an application on the FG website or in game. Throw us a whisper and we’ll reply

Its clear from the OP that he/she has an issue with support within the game. Every, and I do mean EVERY, inquiry ive made via the ticket system has been answered within 24hrs, usually within 3-4hrs. Only a couple of times did they misunderstand me and send a generic copy/paste reply so ive really no issues whatsoever and see no reason to have a ‘paid support’ function. Its like handing me chocolate and then asking whether id prefer to buy it next time.

It would be nice to have a use for ascended rings. Personally I dont think its too late to put in mystic forge recipes. Four rings could give either one random ring, a chance at one random fractal skin and a chance at one random infusion. You could even make them salvageable to give a chance at getting pristine relics, mist essence, infusions etc.
That said I still think this is a non-issue. I stored rare backpieces on an alt for over two months hoping they would become salvageable eventually but it hasnt happened so the other day I sold the lot. ANET obviously have a reason behind spare rings not having a use so I wouldnt hold your breath on a change.

I can pretty much guess what theyre planning on doing with the level cap and it doesnt take a big imagination- itll be increased by a relatively small amount (say up to 100) and will be stupidly easy to get to, the same as is usual in GW2. By that time ascended armour and weapons will have been released and these will stay as ‘best in slot’ from 80-100. What will change is the infusions in that equipment. These will be the stat increase as time progresses and I can even see ANET allowing further customisation by allowing you to have both runes/sigils and infusions, allowing you to further adapt your character (eg: create a more tanky character by having +5def on all armour infusions)

Exploit no but CoF does need to be changed. I am a berserker warrior and have been running CoF for a long while now so for me to say this shows just how strongly I feel about class equality. While I do agree that a mixed group can complete the dungeon in 2-3mins longer than the optimal ‘farming group’ the dungeon itself is too easy, too short and is just asking to be spammed.
One fix would sort this is making certain parts of the dungeon require you to clear the room. Everyone I know skips the boss on the bridge after the Slavedriver so put a wall on the other side and say that players have to acquire a key from the boss on the bridge. Give him knockdown skills that visibly charge up designed to knock you off the bridge if youre too slow.
Next the acolyte room. Between spawns you should be required to kill all mobs before the next spawn. The gate controller room could have mobs that cause a knockdown if standing next to them knocking you out of the circle and finally the flamethrower guy before the final boss would agro all the way to the boss (it already does this occasionally) so youd be required to kill or tank.
All of this is simple stuff, would require little changes to the dungeon but would take completion time up to 15mins+ making it viable to run, but not viable to farm compared to other dungeons.

This achievement was able, until the last patch, to be gained from a bug in which you could spam (via auto-attack) a single ‘bundle’ drink in the F&F instance. While I dont doubt that you legitimately drank all those drinks its a shame that bugs/exploits like this can sully an achievement/title.

ANET sell a hell of a lot of Black Lion Keys via the gem store so why would they increase the drop rate? I admit its a little strange having the chests drop as much as they do but they never will increase drop rates.
If you want to farm the keys that is possible. Just check for a video guide on youtube and you can get one key in about 35-40mins.

For me and members of my guild players using up WvW spaces to ‘duel’ each other at the expense of our WvW events became a real issue before we moved server. If you would like to duel then the place to do so is sPvP when they introduce the private instances. Im all for people having fun but when it disrupts others who just want to come on and actually participate in WvW then im against it.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
Its clear to me after just a few days that the Chest Events are bugged in as much as they are actually giving a similar amount of rares as before and sometimes more. In addition to the guaranteed rare for once per day per account, the large chest is producing at least one rare and ive had many guild members say theyve had a total of FOUR rares drop after an event.
I thought the point of the patch was to reduce player numbers by decreasing the number of rares you can earn in a day? If youre nigh on guaranteed a rare from the large floor chest, maybe three then how does this help?

I’ll give you fractals, but not “outside of cof p1”. This make up is the best for any zone with the exception of MAYBE new CM and even in that case just make one of them support instead of zerk and you’re golden
5 warriors is also the best way to role WvW, without question. although they will not all be zerk.
Worst reply ive heard in a long time. I myself an a ‘zerk warrior’ and I regularly run CoF path 1 with a ‘farming group’ (4 warriors, 1 mesmer), I run CoF P1 with random class compositions (because its awesome to chill with guildies), I run Arah and I WvW in a Tier 1 structured event four times a week. So with all that I think im in a good place to talk about this subject.
CoF P1 is fastest with the ‘farming’ group but there is very little difference between that and a ‘zerk spec’d’ random composition party. 60-120 seconds per run. Many dont know that a Guardian skill that gives quickness to the party (cant remember its name) can be proc’d twice with the help of a mesmers timewarp so having a guardian that knows that trick shaves more time off.
Other dungeons do not ‘require’ warriors in droves. Other dungeons require more than just ‘DPS the mobs down’ and some mobs such as the dogs in TA will take a zerk warrior down in a second unless you block, mitigate the damage or avoid the leap. Its not all about damage like CoF is.
WvW…. my guild is one of the well known guilds on Desolation (T1). We run structured, organised ‘semi-hardcore’ WvW events four times a week and do you know how many zerk warriors we use? One. We allow this player to go full damage because he is one of the best we have in mitigating damage and using movement. Take a look at Red Guard, arguably the ‘best’ WvW guild in Europe (im sure our PvP commander would dispute this!). They run full clerics/Knight/Soldier. Your statement about WvW comes from the fact youve never participated in structured WvW.
What I would like to say, however, is that I think CoF P1 needs a buff. As a zerk warrior I feel very bad when I find myself and group and all other classes are excluded. Make the dungeon harder to farm and all this talk of ‘warriors are best’ will disappear for a bit.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
ANET have already stated that ‘Ascended’ items were meant to be the top tier from launch but were not introduced until recently for whatever reason. They have also stated that they will create a very ‘slow’ treadmill by increasing the stats of INFUSIONS.
In other words the current ascended items will remain best in slot. Its the infusions that you put inside of them that will increase in strength. Buy the ascended items now, dont wait.

I carry around a maximum of six gathering tools for various uses. I see no reason why you would need to carry around any more than that unless going gathering for a day is your idea of having a great time.
Its not hard to come by vendors selling tools. Theyre everywhere. Worst case just go back to Lions Arch and run back to your destination. This is a non-issue really…. and to be honest a couple of silver in waypoint costs is nothing. You can get a weeks worth of travel money from one 8 minute CoF P1 run.

Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
Our guild have got the bounty twice, failed twice in finding him. I send this message to the devs in the hope that it will get read- do NOT nerf this event. Do not give in to those of us finding it hard. It is frustration talking.
I love the challenge of finding this guy. Sure its frustrating to find him but he is the hardest to find out of all of the bounties. I love this fact. It sucks when you get 5/6 killed and have your whole guild searching for this guy and dont find him but so long as he DOES spawn and is able to be found then this is a great addition to the bounties.
Lets stop making things easier in GW2 for those that moan when frustrated that they cannot do something.

My guild had upwards of 40-50 players for a T3 mission the other night and it was still a challenge. I dont think you understand just how hard it is to co-ordinate a multiple party, multiple map search of a specific NPC, even when finding the targets beforehand. Sometimes the target was killed by another guild, sometimes one group couldnt find the mob, sometimes we was all on different maps, sometimes the groups sent couldnt kill the NPC, sometimes certain guild members needed a hit to get credit so had to swap maps and find the NPC with the help of others….
Sure its ‘easier’ with a larger guild but to say its easy is wrong. The level of organising, even when using TS, is pretty epic.

Relying on food THIS powerful, and ANY of you expected it to NOT be fixed?
Glass cannon with super high damage and crit = more sustainable than builds that try to be sustainable through ordinary means. You thought that made ANY sense?
Good riddance to any idiots who leave because of this. The fact you had to rely on some consumables to play the game shows how bad you were.
Warriors complaining that they’re not sustainable…how laughable. Try putting that GS/Rifle combo and that zerker CoF armor away for once.
This. My main is a warrior and I always wondered why I was looked down on for running Knights armour in dungeons. I knew what food the other Warriors were using but I didnt know the extent to which it could heal because I use Axe+Mace/Shield. I just assumed that they were better at survival techniques than me.
Any warrior that relies on OP food so much that they leave because of it im happy to wave as they go out the door. The skill level of the warrior class will go up.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
Im sorry but I must have missed something? There seems to be some people here…complaining… that a food item which normally creates an overpowered warrior has been nerfed and there are some saying in other threads that theyve quit because of it?
My main is a Warrior. I welcome this change because any food item that single handedly keeps a character alive is OP. It shouldnt be in the game. I wear Knights armour for dungeons and always wondered how other warriors could survive in berserker gear. I didnt realise that it was the food doing it, I just assumed that it was due to the skill of the player.
Nerfing the food gives credibility back to our class so stop complaining and get on with becoming a better player. Wearing Knights gear is often seen as a handicap for Warriors…maybe this food change will open peoples eyes a little.

Why are so many people moaning at having to work towards something? Its just another case of ‘want it now’. Sure the larger guilds can undertake the missions at a faster rate than the smaller ones but what do you get for completion? All thats been confirmed is added WvW buffs for the guild.
To me its like moaning at the fact that a friend is helping another friend to get their legendary. “Oh dear, its not fair that this person has a friend in GW2 and I dont”. (1) whats the rush? (2) whats stopping smaller guilds from participating? (3) Larger guilds are harder to run so they deserve a ‘headstart’ in the guild missions. I dont hear anyone moaning about the fact larger guilds get more influence for magic find banners and WvW buffs so whats changed?

I like to think of GW2 as the Nintendo Wii of the MMO world. While other MMOs have tried to grab the hardcore players with promises of end-game content what do just involve a grind (a grind im happy to do btw) GW2 has said look. We dont want to offer the same as what other games are offering. We want to create a pick-up-and-play style MMO that will allow you to play other games and even other MMOs in addition to GW2. We just want you to have fun, spend a little in the gem store to support the game going forward and buy the expansions.
The Wii outsold both the PS3 and the 360 because it didnt try to directly compete. It was cheaper and more accessible to different types of people. Hell even the elderly were using the Wii! GW2 is the Wii of the MMO world and, if figures are to be believed, is doing rather well. Its not trying to be a WoW killer, its offering something different. Something more casual.
I agree that GW2 does need some improvements as its far from a perfect game in terms of bugs and gameplay. But saying that a whole game is flawed without taking into account that this isnt a generic MMO is an argument that is, itself, flawed.

ANet’s rules notwithstanding, how can you be REALLY sure you will not be scammed? As in, you sent the item, and not getting the gold. Or how can the other person be sured he is not scammed, sending you the gold but not getting the item?
Id like to think my word means something, being that ive played since beta, am established in one of the most prominent WvW guilds in Desolation [FG] (a tier 1 server) and who has covered most of GW2 via my Youtube channel Id require that the gold was sent beforehand but ive no interest in conning anyone.
Thanks for the replies. As I said its not something I feel good about doing but im just trying to maximise the profit from my one and only piece of good fortune in the last three months (I got the Zap from an already downed WvW defender which I find amazing).

I feel horrible even asking this but what is the official stance on selling through the mail system? Is it allowed? Ive heard issues with accounts receiving bans for transferring large amounts of gold through mail so am I able to contact someone at ANET to let them know what I am doing in order to stop the ban?

Asurans have just the one name followed by their profession. Sylvari TEND…notice this word… to sway towards just the one name because having two names is considered unusual. Id argue that there are enough Sylvaris in the game now with two names and therefore it isnt considered unusual any longer.
Im just waiting on the name change contract to add a ‘surname’ to my Sylvari warrior. She’s(I’ve) seen other Sylvaris with a ‘surname’ and feels its appropriate to adopt one herself(myself). What name she(I) picks will be based on her(my) experience if Tyria since awakening.

I would have made legendary parts hidden throughout the world in difficult dungeons and solo content with stories associated with them.
When you put any combination of random parts together, you would literally get YOUR legendary. Let’s just say you combined that ludicrously long greatsword handle with a lengthy blade of dark steel and combined it with runes of something that give it this particle effect. And then you dye it. Because why not?
Now you have, for example, a long, skinny runed greatsword with an almost spear-like handle that produces lightning that you’ve chosen to dye red. It’s your legendary. You worked for it and it became a part of your story. Hell, you even named it.
I wonder how hard it would be to actually place a weapon customisation tool into the game. I mean you can already edit all manor of features for your character so why not allow the player base to edit their own weapons in such a way. You would only be allowed to do this once/twice(1H/2H) per character and would have to satisfy many tasks in order to do so. Completing the story mode gives X ingredient, an NPC awards you with Y ingredient after collecting the dungeon explorer title, map completion, jumping puzzle completion, boss killing etc etc all grant ingredients/spells/recipes. You then need master crafter status to forge your legendary in the fires of Mt Doo…. some special GW2 place! You get to design everything from length, width, colour, spikes, jewels etc etc and then get to write your own passage for that message bit featured on the weapon stat box.
This is what id call Legendary. Skill is needed to craft the weapon, not gold (although I personally would want some gold input as part of the building) and its an actual account of your journey across Tyria. Hell you could go further and require different recipes for different particle effects/designs. For example if you wanted the flame footprints currently given to the wielder of the Incinerator then you need that specific recipe which drops from the boss at Mt. Maelstrom (or can be purchasable with some form of token maybe?).
Legendaries were a missed opportunity for ANET and its something that has made me think twice about getting a legendary myself. But I also understand that the devs cannot design a unique weapon for every legendary owner in the game so why not allow the playerbase to do the designing for you? Develop the tools needed and bam, uniqueness!

Id love to see an extra trait line though with 20 points extra to invest. More customisation would be amazing in GW2 to create unique builds.

I started by using FRAPs for my Youtube channel and found that while the quality was top notch it did have an issue with FPS drop in GW2 and a couple of others games I used to record. Just last week I started using Dxtory and the FPS drop is substantially less however I did have an issue with one large file it churned out in as much as Sony Vegas (the program I use to edit) had issues with processing. Id personally prefer it churned out many smaller files instead of one large one in case of issues but ive yet to find out how.
In summary, use Dxtory. You can also separate sound channels if you wish, so you can record microphone input separately from game sound so you can remove/edit each separately. Hell, if you use an audio repeater you can separate game sound, microphone and Teamspeak into three separate audio streams. The latter ive not managed to do successfully however but it is possible.

I love leveling in every game I play and in that respect GW2 disappointed me with just how easy it is to reach 80. For me the thrill is the journey to max level, not reaching max level. But GW2 isnt that sort of game and leveling is very easy and because of that there is no real need to raise the level cap.
If they were to increase the level cap to 100 how long would it take the majority to get to that level given all the various ways that youre able to gain levels in GW2? Id be willing to bet a couple of hours, half a day at the most. So to give everyone half a days worth of content theyd have to create a whole new tier of equipment and annoy the majority of players who have spent time gathering their current sets. Its just not worth it.
Dont get me wrong, id like nothing more than to have a challenge and level up further but its just not GW2. What I expect to happen is to have new infusions that increase power/defense and maybe even special ones that increase the power/effectiveness of certain skills to make builds even more interesting and important. I also expect new, more challenging enemies that take longer to kill but are more interesting and have a chance to drop better loot in new maps that challenge the way you think about and play the game. These make sense but raising the level cap doesnt in a game like GW2 where its just so easy to level that its not worth the hastle in raising the cap.

I was satisfied with the ending but I feel it was a missed opportunity for ANET. I understand the epicness of going through the fights on the airship to weaken him and I even understand blowing him up with cannons at the end. However the way each part was implemented disappointed me a little and with very little effort the fight couldve been a lot more interesting and epic.
Instead of spamming the cannon what about introducing timed events for each of the group. Zhaitan is trying to climb the tower to reach the top and summon the help of his champions. At varying times each member is required to hit a specific part of Zhaitan to stop him climbing such as his claw or a weak spot. At the same time he’s flinging rocks at you that he scrapes off of the tower. If you fail he’ll land a guaranteed hit against the party member that missed. When he gets down to 1% HP a cut scene kicks in. He manages to climb to the top of the tower and is just about to call for help from his Champions when Trahearne throws Caladbolg to the party leader (ideally each player would have separate cut scenes btw but im using the system as it is now) who channels some awesome spell and blasts him off of the tower into the Abyss.
Its not hard to come up with alternatives and thats the problem. While the ending was good on paper and in principle, in application it was a slightly disappointing end to something so very important to your character. I also think you should have the choice to go into the dungeon by yourself and have the fights scale down…or even give you NPCs to fight with. It was a bit of an immersion breaker seeing someone elses character pop up during the cut scenes.

Of course fun is subjective but in this case its like saying “We’ve removed the ‘licking a sponge’ part of your daily life and replaced it with ‘licking some cake’”. The majority of people love cake so its a good thing….but you’ll always get the odd few ‘sponge lickers’ making a fuss about the changes. In summary, the change is for the better. Dont read too much into a dev calling something ‘fun’.

I run a pretty high end, 6 month old system and I still struggle with my framerate in WvW. Its to do with two things- the fact GW2 relies heavily on the CPU and the sheer amount of action happening in one space. I played another MMO that utilised a server on server battle system like that of WvW and there was no framerate drop at all…however the skills had limited particle effects and the graphics were like that of a cartoon or anime. GW2 is just a little ahead of its time. Give it a few years and the game (or other games) will be able to handle the sheer amount of action happening on screen in WvW. For now ANET can just work on improving what we already have, starting with culling.
Oh and just to prove that you dont need a decent system to play GW2, my old PC (which this one replaced) would have been 6 years old by now and it still meets the minimum specs for GW2. The game uses DX9 for a start….

A grind is doing something that you may not enjoy repeatedly for an end goal. But id argue that this depends on the timescale involved between each action and in that respect you dont need to grind for anything in the game because there’s ample enough time to get each item and there are multiple ways to get that item.
Having the fractals as the sole way of acquiring ascended rings was a mistake that was rectified with the introduction of laurels. Yet people are still complaining that it takes too long to get anything without doing the daily everyday for months despite the fact it takes no longer than 30 minutes to do in addition to the fact its not the end of the world if you fail to complete a daily! It just means an extra day to wait for the item.
Entitled is the word to use in this circumstance. These players want everything asap and complain when they dont get their way. Im sorry if this offends some but how else am I meant to describe those that think they deserve it all without having to put in any effort for it. If these players got what they wanted there would be nothing to work towards in GW2 and the game would die. As soon as these entitled players realise that there is no timescale to any item/content in the game the better in my opinion.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
Yet another ‘This game is a grind’ thread… I wouldnt mind if the mods started deleting these.
The game is not a grind if you play it how its been designed. For a start I dont understand those that moan about the path to a legendary- these items are meant to take months to get. The only exception here is the inflation on precursors which does need capping but other than that its just entitled players thinking they should have everything when they want it. Same goes for every other item that people ‘grind’ for- whats the point in grinding? Whats the hurry?
An exception to the above are ascended items. They do offer a stat increase and therefore the so called ‘treadmill’ has started, this cannot be refuted. However explain to me how hard it is to get ascended items (except the +5AR and shiny looks that come from throwing LOTS of ectos). Seriously, I dont understand. The so called treadmill in GW2 is more like a leisurely stroll through open woodland compared to other games! Everything has been slowly fazed in and you can get there without grinding.
Those that complain about the ‘grind’ in GW2 are entitled players who would love nothing more that to be given everything as soon as they hit 80. Theyd then quit saying it was too easy and there wasnt enough to do. Youre trying to rush content that wasnt designed to be rushed and then are complaining about the fact its a grind. This is a casual game! Treat it that way and, like me, youll have no problems with ‘grind’. I do what I want to do and work at my own pace towards my goals. This is how to play GW2. Sure, the game isnt perfect and there are many improvements that can be made but im just tired of entitled players moaning about something of their own making.

I’ll start I guess:
Pic 1- Norn love all creatures, no matter how smelly they are!
Pic 2- Id heard rumours of a foul smell emanating from the Swampland fractal so kept my Breather on at all times just in case….
Pic 3- Thats no way for a female ghost to behave!
Pic 4- Youre never too old to play airplane!
Pic 5- The Power Rangers have been given a makeover to appeal to an older audience.

Pic 1 is a human necro I played during the 1st beta access.
Pic 2 is my first ever WvW action during the 2nd beta weekend.
Pic 3 is my current main at level 16 going into Kessex Hills with a (former) real life friend for the first time. I can remember thinking at the time how much I was going to enjoy leveling. Turned out it was stupidly easy but moving on….
Pic 4 is me ‘chilling’ in Orr a week or so ago queuing for WvW :p

Is the exploit harmful to the wider community? If not then no but do the whole game a favour and let ANET know via the support ticket so that they can look into whether or not it needs a fix.

Guild Wars 2, in its current state, no for a few reasons.
1) I personally feel it lacks the kind of end-game content required for a subscription model. I feel the boss encounters and the dungeons are enjoyable but arent of the standard required for me to shell out $15/£xx a month. That could change in the future however.
2) One of the reasons that subscription games worked was the added customer service you received as a paying customer. I personally feel that GW2 gives this good customer service at the moment for free, so there’s no need to pay for it in my opinion!
3) The subscription model is slowly dying and gradually id expect all MMOs to go buy-to-play. HOWEVER I do feel GW2 needs to take advantage of its gem store a lot more than its currently doing. Six months in and the gem store has pretty much the same as it had in it from the start. Im not saying id personally buy anything new anyway but im kind of surprised that they havent got a dedicated department designing for the gem store. They would make a killing on unique skins.

I play on Desolation[EU] and the place seems friendly. WvW (wiki it if you need to know what it is) queue times are high with respect to other servers but if you know you want to play WvW at 8pm then just start queuing an hour earlier and keep queuing over and over until you get in. You can always go do something else in the open world when youre queuing.

No, id hate a race change because it would be just another way to break the immersion of GW2. In my opinion the game already struggles in that respect.
Why would you want to change anyway? The only reason I can see is through boredom in which case just roll another character. Playing a couple of hours a day youre at 80 and a few dungeon runs youve got enough to kit yourself out.
Oh and I posted about the name change contract being introduced and cheeky ANET couldnt give anything away and closed the post :p Hopefully be seeing it soon.
