Yeah this is silly IMO as well. It’s a sketchy mechanic the way they have it set up. Necro gets a toy (not even unique) and it’s countered a dozen dif ways. :/

Except for pulsing stab isn’t a stun break.

The next stack of stability always overlaps with the prior. Thus this change would not mess up pulsing stability in any way.

I was referring to corruption of stab. Thought that’s where the Congo was at when I posted but perhaps I was wrong.

seems like everyone is running zerker 3 hits dead.i don’t know what happen to this game but they took all the fun out of it.i fill bad for the rangers.poor guys.thanks anet for this big pile of glass fest.its been over three years with no new skills.no new weps.and this is what u give us.even when hot comes out we get four new skills. wow I think I would stand in a long line not to play this game right now.

I’m having a good time with the zerkers. My mes was killed by a barrage once so i logged onto my non zerk thief and haven’t died to a necro, engi, or miscellaneous since.

These zerk players all do the same moves at the same time. You should be killing them now.

I specifically target necros and engi’s in any large fight and they literally melt to my non zerk damage.

So condi damage? My Necro would just LOVE to see that happen lmao.

mmm yes….I can’t wait when they nerf zerk and condition take over. Then everyone can come to the forums complaining about how everyone is running condition dmg builds and it needs nerf….so then they nerf it and zerk rises once more until people start complain….

All the professions feel the same b/c some have stealth while others don’t and some have quickness while others don’t and some can spam condis while others can’t and because some can spam boons while others can’t and some have access to invulnerable or blocks or reflects while others don’t and b/c reasons….

B/c Nika was part of the GW1 Factions campaign. There’s also exotic medium armor (good armor at that) in game with her namesake And yes, Shiro will also remind people of GW Factions.

As everyone said its a product of a desync between the players client and the server.

It seems more common now with the condi changes, servers are a bit taxed.

It is more common now with the condi changes b/c ppl are more easily/frequently dying to condis in the middle of dodges/movement skills which is what causes this desync in the first place.

They are materials, not currency. You can’t buy items for bloodstone dust.

You can always delete them if they are taking up too much space or you aren’t planning to make accended items. Instead of being happy that you can now convert them into something you could sell for a few silver rather than throw it away you want to be able to convert all of it NOW.

I would prefer the those ascended mats got moved to the currency page…I have 3 alts filled with this junk that I would like to play. If I had the mats/gold I would finish off last three craft proffs, use mats for 450-475, and then nuke it all but that’s not going to happen any time soon. Rest in pepperoni 3x char slots.

Stop impulse buying junk from the Gemstore with your gold and you’ll have plenty. Take a deep breath…and focus.

Both, so also adding my vote to having the daily limit removed.

The daily limit exists b/c of the amount of coin/mats that would be introduced if it wasn’t in place. Simple as that.

They’re actually T7 mats. T6 are totally different and NOBODY would be complaining at this rate of T6 drops.

First things first, where are you planning to use this build? Pve Group content (such as events and World bosses), PvP, WvW, Dungeons/Fractals, or just general Open World? Do you have a group of friends that you are planning an playing together a lot with this build or just kind of a ‘solo hero’? Answers to these questions will make a huge difference in how you build and will also help us a lot to be able to give you more constructive advice.

The amount of torment, confusion, bleed and poison mesmers, necros and engis can put out in a very small time frame is just as broken as burning.

Necros can’t stack confusion on anyone and can hardly stack a bunch of anything “in a small time frame”. If a Necro ‘condi bursts’ you, then he was just returning the favor of that condi burst you just tried to dump on him. This is great for my Power build, watching ppl wreck themselves b/c the though loading the Necro with a bunch of condis real fast sounded like a good idea. Hehe

Yes Courtyard is new. Skyhammer was also released after launch. So yes we’ve got new maps ‘in years’. Unfortunately, they also removed Raid on Capricorn so, eh… It’s lookin like another Spec line and another set of skills for each profession as well as the new Revenant. I’m not sure how the new masteries (ie. access to new Legendaries, etc) will work put for non HoT accounts. I’m assuming there will be plenty of HoT specifics that even PvP/WvW only players will appreciate though.

To add to your list. Spiritwatch as well as Temple weren’t in at release too.

You can change it to any stats
- 10 spirit chards
- Piece of ascended armour or weapon
- exotic insignia of your choice
- 5 ectos

So, with the increase in stats to the Nomad’s gear, you should be able to only change maybe your Chest and Leg pieces to something like Zerk (requiring only 2 new Runes) to make up for the damage stats lost and then take HUGE advantage of the fact you can now spec into three full trait lines which have all been considerably buffed. This hyperbole only makes you sound stubborn and close minded. Try calming down and giving some logic a go.

Also, if you had “maxed Defense and Tactics lines”, there is NO WAY you had “medium Power AND Precision” with with your remaining TWO trait points to spend. I, as well as any other theory craft will only regard this as a complete impossibility.

If you would like some tips and how to adapt yourself to the latest changes, I’m sure I or any of the other build crafter’s could get you back to a build very similar to your old one with minimal investment on your part. Heck, with the new Specs we could surely make it better than what you were using before.

With a pre-exisiting 80 with account wide unlocks…new system is ok I guess.

But on a fresh account, all these changes leads to much much frustration and makes the game pretty unfun to play. I mean before you get to level ten and start dishing out points…now you gotta get to lvl 21 for that to happen; that is a looooong time to go before you are allowed to customize your char imo.

But those points you were ‘dishing out’ didn’t really even matter until lvl 15 when you could pick your first Adept Minor, which was hardly to be considered ‘customizing’ as they were pretty negligible. Also, not the the last trait iteration drastically reduced the exp needed to get to lvl 15 anyway, so the ‘new lvl 21’ is pretty equal to the ‘old lvl 15’. Also, while leveling to 21, you’re unlocking weapon and utility skills as well as class mechanics. It’s important for new players to have a good grasp of these things before they get into trait building.

We hated the NPE and the infamous ‘trait revamp’ and so they tried to find a good solid middle ground. Seems appropriate to me. I’m thankful they listened to us and were willing to work with us and take OUR feedback to come to a better consensus with THEIR game design. Instead of being indignant about it not being enough, be thankful they listened to veteran opinion while still trying to maintain their goal of ease of accessibility for incoming new players to the game.

let’s compare build diversity in the old system to build diversity in the new system by comparing two builds…. Minon Master Necro, and longbow ranger.

there are many more variants for builds now, compared to the old system.

At best, you showed there are more variants for META builds now. But since folks are complaining about losing their non-meta builds…

Except it’s not just meta builds nearly every single build type among the professions are like these examples. I’m trying to figure out what many of these doomsayers are so indignant about. Almost as if they were playing their forma build specifically to ‘not be meta’. Would be terrible for the hipster crowd (while currently a new meta hasn’t been established) to come up with a build they like and then it ends up becoming meta. Oh, the horror. :/ We’ll have a new set of builds soon so you guys can do the opposite. Don’t worry. :p

I guess my few paragraphs a bit ago where too long winded as the last 5ish posts were basically excerpts of what I said. There are now more good builds (and variations on them), and what’s even better, when pugging, it’s now much harder to make an absolute trash PHIW build as most of the traits are pretty good and the lines Specs much more synergetic. It’s a win win.

There are less possible build options for sure. However, this is ONLY in regards to possible trait distributions. But that’s kind of a straw man b/c our “huge variety of options” before weren’t really options. I have ’a huge variety of options to cut my grass. I could use scissors or a weed eater or a butter knife or buy a few cows or goats OR I could just use a practical and useful lawnmower. This patch got rid of all the scissors and goats.

Here’s an example. Before the patch, say I was a Necromancer that wanted to run a maximized well build. That required a 12 pt trait investment into 3 different lines that had little synergy together and were mostly in defensive lines. This would have left me with 2 whole trait pts to invest in something other than Wells. Also this would cripple any hope for the well build b/c of the huge loss of damage/survivability potential as I would have to completely neglect any DeathShroud investment or take a huge loss to Condition Damage, Condition Duration, Precision, and/or Power.

NOW those traits have all been merged into a very synergetic line leaving me free to play Wells as a full Power spec, a full Condition spec, a beastly DeathShroud spec, or even a very good Hybrid mix of these options. This is the same with Minion Masters, Phalanx or Shout Warriors, Venom Thieves or whatever other build anyone might have been interested in. You see, ‘Specializations’ are meant to be specializations. So yes, maybe the maximum amount of mathematicaly possible builds has decreased (it was only an illusion of variety in the first in the first place), but the flexibility within build archetypes has increased dramatically. Maybe a few much layouts took a bit of a hit, but specialized builds are more well off than ever. Also, things like 62222 probably means that some good traits were over performing for there mineacule 2 pt investment.

If anyone would like help making a new build, I’d be more than happy to help. Let’s town down the hyperbole about how the game is “ruined” now though please.

Edit: I do have to agree that getting rid of build defining (specialized) traits like Thief’s Ricochet was a terrible call and those should be fixed/brought back though.

I didn’t say anything remotely close to those stats becoming pure healers. Read your proposition in the OP again and then take another look at the two stat sets I mentioned. I mentioned those stats b/c your proposition would make them completely broken. You’d basically have two sets that have primary damage stats (Dire is already very strong) with the added benefit of having the equivalent of ‘minor Nomad stats’. The ‘pure healer’ comment was just a reminder that A net doesn’t want to get involved in the slippery slope of buffing healing to the point of making Healers a thing. That’s why I mention ppl already having their own self-heals (which would become useless on power/condi glass setups and therefore require an outside healer to keep them alive) as well as there being many forms of passive and AoE heals in the game already. If you want your personal healing to be more efficient, invest in Toughness and Protection to compliment it. Doing away with HP and making Heals scale with Vitality is a very bad idea though.

Also, “Nomad’s becoming 100% support” is not an issue b/c support=/=healing others. Gw2 has plenty of support already and 99% of it has absolutely zero to do with healing. Once again, that’s the reason we all have our own personal heals.

to make it more useful a stat, they need to reduce the base heals, and incr the coeffs

that way its more worthwhile for someone to invest in it.

But then you have the problem of self heals being worthless and requiring investment into HP or depending on a healer. There is PvP/wvw taken into consideration.

I’m thinking about it and I think Dire (and maybe Soldier’s) would be completely broken. HP scales the way it does b/c, with everyone having their own self-heals, it would be completely unbalanced otherwise, with all the access to passive and AoE healing in the game. Also, Anet is adamantly opposed to having pure Healers. This is a slippery slope your asking to introduce.

Get rid of DM and go Spite with SoS. Sc/D+Staff. Take Carrion and get rid of Dhuumfire for Precision (try to swap to staff before DS.) Lose SA for PS. The Might+Condi transfer+Corruption is real. You’ll have 4 Stunbreaks for those pesky zerker/CC drops (2 will be autoproc; 1 with transfer/corruption and the other to build LF.) GG.

These Phishing mails are spammed at people every single time another ‘big game announcement’ happens. A lot of new people, who just joined us with the new Base/HoT purchases, are prime victims for cons like these. During the huge $10 sale we had a couple months ago, I was getting 3-5 of these phishing mails/day. Anet put in a system of flagging official mails for exactly this reason. Just wait till next Tuesday when the trait revamp patch hits…

Keeping us in combat is the one real thing I dont like. I understand they want to push the vision of necros as diseased and loving it characters that carry lots of conditions and spread them to their enemies, but to use heal and instantly be in combat mode with the speed drop seems unfair.

If this is the vision for necros can we not have a compromise? Make necros not in combat with conditions perhaps. Normal damage would still create combat mode but conditions (particularly self inflicted) not.

This is/was exactly my point in my post a few up from yours. I’m surely delusional thinking this just must be an oversight though, right? :/

Let’s not forget that, now, when you use CC after a fight to get to the next node to +1/etc (b/c of cripple, long bleeds, etc)…“Hey!!!! Now your heal gives you a condition O.o (which keeps you in ‘combat speed’ anyway with nobody around to transfer it /sigh)”. Necro IS NOT FAST and this hinders point rotations. Keeping us at ’combat speed, even after using this skill for exactly that reason, is a slap in the face and a detriment. The CD increase I can live with b/c CC is a strong heal, BUT there are SMART players using this for other utility. This change destroys that.

Anet, get some Devs to actually play Necro, so that someone understands it instead of being kids with crayons thinking up " ‘cool’ new ideas"

This change is just stupid. There’s no way around that…

2 players grouped up =/= ‘A Premade’. That’s just completely silly. 5 people running complimenting, synergetic builds, who cover each others’ weaknesses through weaponsets, gear choices, utility selections and trait layouts, in order to accomplish maximum efficiency/synergy/output, while covering each others shortcomings…THAT is the very definition of a ‘PREMADE’. This word (premade), not only demands that, by definition of the word, but has NO RELEVANCE without meeting that criteria. A couple of buddies queueing together does not constitute ‘a premade’.

You have to remember that condition scaling was changed. The damaging conditions of non-condition builds are going to be much weaker.

Exactly this. With 0 investment into Condi damage, condis are gonna be nearly useless. Condis are being completely rescaled so that, in order to maintain the current ‘0-spec’ condi damage, will require a minimum of 700 C.Dam. This means that might stacking will be much less useful, as stats have been removed from the trait lines (this includes the +C.Dur from Power lines). The scaling will be drastically improved with more than 700 C.Dam. With the recent Might nerf, +750 C.Dam (25 Might) will be equal to what we have now at zero investment. Removing the condi cap will balance this out I feel though. (I.e. needed C.Dam from might but excellent condition stacking as compered to before the nerf.)

The saving grace here is the the direct damage of Zerk/Sin specs will have direct damage buffed VERY nicely, thank to non-damage stats being removed from traits and normalized to gear!!! Omg IKR!!! This means our meta Zerker DPs/team support builds are getting HUGE buffs. (PS Warrior w/o sacrificing any DPS stats!?! O.O)

Surely it has been pointed out, but, zerkers are actually getting a good buff to direct damage. I’m looking forward.

*note: we will lose a good bit of condi damage in the meantime though.

‘bleeding out opponents is always best, no matter what’. This is especially true when one of the enemies is still standing AND they’re contesting your node capture 2v1! kitten brilliant!! :/ sorz that happened. This almost rivals 4 ppl rotating back to home for 1 ranger. “Well, I’m all alone a mid now guys. Hey I wonder where THEIR other 4 players are heading!?!” /sigh I see way too many people that still have no concept of rotating and paying attention to the minimap (it gives a LOT of info that goes overlooked). These are all low/mid tier problems really though. Primarily Unranked. Rarely see these problems in ranked matches though. There’s a huge knowledge/tactics/strategy gap between the two generally. Unranked farm groups take advantage of this to the fullest for easy wins. Not like PvP is rapidly growing so it should all trickle down eventually.
