Fireheart Rise event chains, mainly this one:

Probably not the most efficient way, mind you.
Or you could make a handful of dungeon speedruns with 5 people and walk away with 10+ gold each.
Fair point, but after those dungeons?
I do daily speedsruns in about 2 hours. But I will give it a test and see what profit I can make from it.
I would wager that crafting would be the next best method of making gold/hour after dungeons (or even better than dungeons if you have good enough knowledge of the market), but yeah please go ahead with the experiment and report results. Last time I tried to farm linen it was pretty meh return.
It is still far more efficient to farm gold and buy from TP. Maybe one day the price of the cloth goes high enough that it’s more efficient to farm them directly, but that day is not here yet.
I dono, the current price is absolutely insane.
4+ silver PER SCRAP.Hell you could probably go 3 man farm Hirathi and walk away with Gold profit as it stands right now.
Or you could make a handful of dungeon speedruns with 5 people and walk away with 10+ gold each.
Or just merge servers? There isn’t even the naming issue since character and guild names are global in GW2.
It would be a slight PR hit, but it would do wonders for WvW and would have absolutely zero effect on PvE/sPvP.
It is still far more efficient to farm gold and buy from TP. Maybe one day the price of the cloth goes high enough that it’s more efficient to farm them directly, but that day is not here yet.
Well it’s not like you’re gonna get any practice in hotjoin either.
Only difference between builds is the first utility slot?
Wow, look at me killing uplevels in EotM!
Since when is the commander the highest WvW rank in a zerg?
Well we’ve been getting hints of the Mursaat and the White Mantle in LS2 a lot. It’s a safe bet they will be part of the story in the future.
Sorry but this change would need a major overhaul of the engine. At its current form GW2 engine does not support moving platforms.
Buy ascended trinkets for alts?
I also suggest you forget about what the endgame has to offer at this point. Instead, enjoy the rich game world and the personal story. Take your time. Stop at dynamic events when there are some happening near you (and stick around for a while when they’re finished, they might continue into another DE), look around for hidden chests and jumping puzzles, talk to the NPCs, etc.
GW2’s game world is (IMO) the most beautiful and interesting game world ever created. Do not rush through it.
They could also rewrite the server code to allow more people per instance in WvW, and then when it works, combine all the maps into one ginormous WvW map.
I think it just reusing visuals to indicate cracking and destruction. If you look at http://youtu.be/PJfXl_4mivw?t=48s you’ll notice rytlock is making the same pattern on the husks he’s killing. Unless he’kittenting them so hard that they went flying into the mists.
That’s not so far fetched either. If anything, Rytlock is able to hit things so hard the player is sent into the mists.
The answer is get more alts :p
I have 3 bank tabs full of ascended gear from fractals. There isn’t enough alts allowed to use all of that gear.
You’re wrong. Character slot maximum if 64. That’s 320 ascended trinkets, because with 64 characters gear swapping between alts requires either bookkeeping or a lot of time switching between characters.
At least for this trinket it seems to be. If Anet meant it to be not forgotten (and in most cases, sold to vendor for a couple of silver) they would have not made it vendorable.
That… actually makes sense. A lazy writer’s Deus Ex Machina sort of sense, but yeah. I could definitely see Anet saving the DE heroes from certain death with “they fell into the Mists and now they’re back” trolling.
You already had to reapply the extractor since the buff wore out when the first champ you had tagged was killed, so nothing changed there.
I also thought the new buff was to restrict boss-hopping, but it doesn’t seem to affect that at all.
There is a change, The tuning makes it so you won’t get a part drop if the boss that just died wasn’t the one you have damaged last.
So, tag troll at amber, go to blue, tag thrasher, troll dies, thrasher dies – you get only the thrasher piece, don’t need to reapply extractor. Tag troll at amber, troll dies, go to red, tag husk, husk dies – you get troll and husk pieces (if you remembered to reapply extractor after troll died). Basically, you can still hop between bosses, but you have to make sure the previous one died before you engage the next one.
This works correctly for underground bosses. With the Vinewrath champs? Not so much.
Ok thanks! Didn’t know that
Wouldn’t that still include a loophole, like:
Tag amber, run to blue, wait for amber to die before engaging. Reapply extractor, tag blue and run to indigo.
In any case this would maybe allow you to get 3 parts at best. Better than tagging all 4 I guess.

Even if warrior would hit with #2 you can still stomp before #3 is up. ’Nuff said.
The players arguing because rangers are the only real ranged class (eles and necros are aoe with staff)
Players dont want to take anti-range skills just because of one build of one profession. There are 29 kind of non ranged roaming builds and only 1 pewpew. Players put in condi removal, anti melee skills but never anti range stuffs.
There should be a condi-melee-range triangle but its not egsist. Range is too rare in this game
That’s because ranged in this game is balanced of having less damage than melee. The last thing we need is to turn the game into ranged-only contest of pewpew where even CoD has more melee.
Solo roaming is bad anywhere. The times you’re able to get a 1v1 fight are one in a dozen. Then other 11 are being ganked/jumped/driven off by small groups and/or the zergs.
And that one time 1v1 is when you trash a noob trying to get their achies quickly.
Or simply make WvW like sPvP where you can equip whatever runes and equipment you want. Level all gear and stats. Obviously you can only change armor/stats around in your home camp, but you can still change food/traits/weapons on the field.
Fair and even for all. No need to grind PvE to get a WvW set. Everyone happy?
EotM could be great (casual) fun, if the commanders there would be PvPers instead of PvErs.
Seeing commanders purposefully steering clear of an enemy zerg (smaller, bigger or same size, no matter) makes me sick.
Removing ascended mats from EotM was a step into right direction. Next up would be removing access to EotM until level 80 and removal of karma, coin and chests. Finally, remove the structures too because no one cares about holding them, only capping them for the rewards.
What would be left is just pure, beautiful zerg on zerg action with a kittenload of body bags.
You already had to reapply the extractor since the buff wore out when the first champ you had tagged was killed, so nothing changed there.
I also thought the new buff was to restrict boss-hopping, but it doesn’t seem to affect that at all.
Hey, at least we don’t have to pair up two eyes and two kidneys this time!
Amen to that, but to be honest the loot table just was increased by two, so I don’t think the odds are that much better now.
The answer is get more alts :p
Nomen est omen.
If you don’t care abut story or achievement points you really don’t need to do them, but some people find the story interesting.
Well there is an ascended trinket handed out for each episode achievement mastery.
I normally agree with you, but the drop rate on tickets are just too low.
Gold is easy enough to come by, but to get just what you plan to use is costly enough to keep your pockets empty unless you grind gold pretty kitten a daily basis, that is not even considering the COMPLETIONIST way of doing things.
Ascended is pretty much the only thing you will need to grind or invest money on. I’ve done it myself in the league of hundreds of gold. However, that’s not really something you need if you want to invest that money into skins, for example.
As said, if you want to have everything – as in best stats, no matter how insignificant the difference, and the best looking skins – you will have to grind. That’s just how MMOs work.
I still don’t agree that getting some nice skins along with an exotic set and ascended trinkets is grindy in GW2. Obviously if you’re an altoholic you’ll have to work a bit more.
But yeah I don’t think as players anyone would mind cheaper BL skins. I just don’t think they’re that bad to be honest. And if I really think there is a super cool skin and I want it, I don’t mind spending some RL money to get it.
I mean, you’re sounding almost like giving money to play a game you love is a bad thing. The game surely won’t force you to do it, like some other popular COUGHWOWCOUGH MMOs do.
Oh it’s worth to add, you can still get another part by using another extractor for the lane boss fights.
Yep. Cannot tag multiple champs anymore. Or rather, you can, but you won’t be getting any extra extractions.
Sylvari of The Pale Tree are a unique form of Dragon Minion simply because they have been tampered with prior to Mordremoth’s awakening. This is what stirred Scarlet into action, whether she was in control of her own actions and wanted to awaken Mordremoth just to kill it or knowingly aiding Mordremoth to awaken it in order to allow the Sylvari to fall into their natural order.
I don’t think Scarlet was in control of her actions in the end. She might have believed she was doing something to kill Mordy but instead Mordy was pulling her strings to wake him up.
You don’t wake up someone to kill him. You kill him in his sleep.
I believe the Dream acts as a radio station that is tuned to the same frequency as another radio station, only being closer and thus its transmission covers up the other and you can only hear the Dream transmitting.
Should the Dream stop broadcasting or the signal somehow cut, the other signal would then be heard.
Similarly if you move closer to the other signal, it would eventually become stronger than the Dream and override it.
Glorious armor too.
You can buy all the weapon skins from TP and they don’t even cost that much when the per 1 ticket is still active at the BL trader. Totally obtainable in-game.
Claiming anything else is just pure denial.
Fair point. So then we can go into the ridiculous grindfest to get them?
Glorious armor – grindfest? Agreed. Unless of course you love PvP, which many do.
Carapace – grindfest? Sure, if you want all the weights and pieces. Otherwise, nah.
Luminescent – grindfest? A-yep.
BL weapons – grindfest? If you need them all, sure. Just one, though? Starting from ~50g or even less on a buy order. Nah. If it takes you longer than a couple of days to make 50 gold you’re doing something wrong.
You ninja edited so I will too:
It all depends on your expectations. If you want to collect everything in an MMO, you cannot avoid the grind. That just doesn’t work. 50-100gp for an exclusive weapon skin is not grindy.
What a joke….
300 gems for each piece, that will be 1800 gems for the full set over time? And as people said not even fully dyeable. If I look back in the history(specially in the first year) there were many complete outfits and armor sets released for 800 gems.
Once again the usual Bait-and-switch tactic from NCSoft strikes again.
"Micro"transactions. Will not be buying the XP, definitely.
Can we hold you to your word when the XP releases?
Glorious armor too.

Still hoping for a map where keeps and towers would be strategically placed to protect valuable resources (i.e. supply camps).
I think the OP needs to go and re-check what “evidence” means.
You can’t set up two cursors and both keyboards would feed the same field, so no, it won’t work without setting up a virtual machine.
Maybe you should just use the time together into something else than GW2 (which I assume you play together when you are that long distance apart)? Just a suggestion
It may simply be a renaming of the game, much like other games do when they release substantial updates (IE, RIFT: Nightmare Tide/Storm Legion, AION: Ascension/Steel Cavalry, etc)
A substantial update is pretty much what an expansion is, by definition.
Have the naysayers really reached a point where they are now arguing semantics? “Yeah we’re getting five new zones, new race, new class and new skills for each profession, but it’s just an update. It’s not an expansion!”
Living story season 1 gave new regions and content. Was it an expansion? Living story season 2 gave new regions and content. Was that an expansion? No, it wasnt an expansion. Imo it’s people that share your mindset that seem to argue semantics. By and far, when people talk about an expansion in the context of the gaming industry, they’re talking about paid content releases on the level of Factions, Nightfall, or EotN for GW1, aka the “traditional” expansion. The Living Story was content released locked behind the passage of time, not payment.
The keyword in my post is “substantial”. No, I do not feel LS1 or LS2 (or even both combined) gave us a substantial update. Four new zones, which are smaller combined than the bigger original zones, and a lot less populated with events, secrets and generally stuff to do. No new classes, no new races, no new weapons.
I do agree that paid/free could be used as a definition between expansion and just an update, but that was not argued in the post I quoted. But, let’s say we would get a substantial update (let’s say 5 large zones, 1 new profession, 1 new race and a long single player story like the personal story), in one bunch, but Anet would deliver it free of charge. By your definition, would that not still be an expansion?
but never having to look long for a fight.
Anger management
Well I know some (a lot?) of people go to WvW for PvE or map completion, but I would like to believe most (or at least some) are there to do actual PvP
Practice mode is pure anarchy. Most of the time the fights are very one-sided and I cannot imagine anyone getting any kind of practice either way.
The game mode is there just for
- trolling noobs,
- getting your dailies done quickly by team swapping, and
- custom arenas.
Frankly, I would like to see this game mode removed completely, or at least any rewards whatsoever removed from it, and then shorten the warmup time of Unranked (queue should become a lot quicker if Practice was removed).
Second option would be to remove the possibility to choose your team. Team swapping would only be possible by autobalance volunteering.
Yeah active to the point of constant queues for prime time. I like T2-T3 much more because of no queues, but never having to look long for a fight. Just perfect.
Yep. No population issues apparent to players, if not counting for the sometimes too high population on a map when the daily asks you to do 4 dynamic events on that particular map.
We obviously don’t know how the overall population of the game is, but it appears to be healthy.
For WvW you should choose your realm more carefully though, as WvW does not utilize megaservers (except for Edge of the Mists).
70+ times. ZERO coat
You’re kittenting me, right? You’re saying you’re actually defeated the VineWrath 70+ times already? And are not talking about how many chests you’ve opened there?
Now now, that clearly would’ve made too much sense. Can’t have that in the Living Story.
Just like Ogden making us go through Glint’s lair for a laugh when he could’ve just told us “Glint had an egg, and the Master of Peace is guarding it.” Maybe we could’ve saved him with the time we wasted in there, who knows?
You have to consider the gameplay perspective, too. I don’t think the majority of MMO players would be happy playing an actual Commander. You know, sitting behind a desk or a map and giving out commands to the subordinates.
Sometimes you need to stop making sense for gameplay’s sake. Otherwise your game will suck and you’d be better off just writing a book.
I do think this system is broken. With RNG you have indeed an average, but you also have people at the high end of the spectrum and people on the low end (also explained by a dev).
The problem is, people at the low end could never get a drop, even if that is a verry low chance. Still if there’s a chance, how slim that may be, it’s not working, since people generally wan’t an achievable goal.Just my two cents.
It wouldn’t be random if some people would not get 10 boxes while others get 0 with the same number of tries.
Anyhow, they might very well add the lootbox to the Camp Resolve vendor after a few weeks. Just wait and see if you don’t want to take your chances with RNG.
Account based loot tables. Lol. You guys need to replace your tinfoil hats.
