Cause we don’t need the gold. We also have a lot of gold. Nor do I need T6 mats at this point in the game. I have enough to spare for anything new that comes and requires them. So yeah I just keep my laurels in case something new comes out. Same with Karma, I have around 10 million Karma now I believe.
That’s not why the ore maps are messed up. They’re messed up because of the megaservers. As there is no knowing what map you will load into each time, any maps will be inaccurate most of the time. Ori and ancient wood farming are also very unprofitable today. If you want to earn gold by harvesting, go for platinum and iron mining, plus soft/hard wood harvesting.
You don’t have to spend a single dime to level from 400 to 500. In fact, you can earn 50-100 gold while doing so. Just need some time to wait for buy and sell orders to move.
They’re waiting for even juicier rewards to use them for. They are the kind of people who never buy anything because odds are it will be cheaper and/or there will be better offerings next week.

caithe secret is that she killed wynne or that Wynne is caithe.
This most likely isn’t the case but I just like the idea. The part with Wynne is Caithe. She took her identity after killing her in the cave. Would be such a good plot twister. But I don’t see how she could pull it off. It would be very difficult to explain some things in the books, how she keeps it a secret from the Pale Tree etc etc. Would be a good explanation as to why Caithe doesn’t love Faolian anymore.
Except she still does, which is quite evident in the storymode of TA.
I’m not sure – I recently began work on Howler, so my first thought was to go for the Legendary chest, because obsidian shards and mystic clovers can be a kitten to get. That being said, I could take the laurels chest and essentially get 20 obsidian shards from that, or take the ascended chest and use the gold from the mats to work towards buying Howl. Thoughts?
How are obsidian shards hard to get? I get it if you only do PvP, but if you do PvE too, they’re as simple as going to an open balthazar (taxis in LFG all the time) and buy them at 2100 karma apiece.
You seem to have mesmerized yourself finally. Happens when you have 5-6 copies of yourself running around. One day you just start to think that maybe you are the clone and one of them is the original.
not quite sure why you’re expecting a class designed around high mobility melee combat to be able to range as well as a class designed for ranged combat.
A bow warrior equipped with a mobility set like sword/WH is quite a match for rangers any day.
And those people that asked for a paid expansion for the last year and a half will be disappointed anyways because they didnt get what they wanted.
To a lot of people, price and delivery mode of new content aren’t nearly as important as quality and quantity.
It has to be free, though, otherwise ANet runs a risk of losing substantial profits.
Of course there is a group of players that would like to see more quality content at a faster rate and is willing to pay for it. But i think that is still the minority and if Anet would follow their suggestions, they might alienate a big part of the player base and more importantly, new players. I dont think it will do the game any good in the long term to split the player base by gating content behind a pay wall.
IF (and that’s a big if) they go this route, I more expect the “expansion” to be free, but some aspects of it (new race/class, for example) to be locked behind a pay wall. That way you have everyone still playing together, but there’s stuff that brings in cash as well.
Actually they wouldn’t even need to put any new paywalls. Introduce a new race and/or class and the profits from additional character slots would be rolling in like mad.
Also wvw is as pve as eotm. The only game mode that is consider real pvp is Spvp.
No it’s not and you saying so makes me doubt that you even play WvW or EotM. PvP happens all the time, in mass scale and skirmishes, in WvW. PvP happens only rarely on mass scale on EotM, and much less frequently overall.
The opening post may be sarcasm, but it’s a pretty good depiction of the average karma trainer’s mindset.
Edge of the Mist used to be fun. There was a karma train. We all took turns and we all got gold, loot, achievements, etc. For the past three weeks it’s been anything but fun. Over powered players that one shot you, or a small group of the same, while apparently none of the siege equipment or ranger’s arrows nor any thing else affects these OP toons. At all. Not even a scratch. Then having large guilds come in and destroy the ability to do any of the fun things created a depressing scenario which I became frustrated with and simply left. Not really wanting to go back if this is how it’s going to be. For two years I’ve enjoyed running in EoTM but lately, not so much. Maybe I’m getting old and jaded.
If it is just 1 guild try to get their name and discover what server they come from. After you know that you can get people and guilds to focus them and gank them everywhere. They mess with your karma train you should go troll all their gvg or raids.
I’m sure their gvg will be seriously messed by a bunch of upleveled PvErs.
You know that most uplvl have other toons right? Also even if they go there with a lvl 1 and rally bot for the enemy they are already messing up.
So you are suggesting the two guilds wouldn’t just trash those “bystanders” if they messed up with their GvG? Well you’re welcome to try. Feel free to capture and post the results.

Before the last update we had the problems of players leaving to easy or switching sides or waiting in spectator untill they can join the winning side.
This leads to maches always being 5Vs4 most of the time. When someone leaves the team with 4 the game starts to take players from team with 5 and as soon as both teams has 4Vs4 someone in spectator Joins the winning team. And there are much more stuff to be done to join the winning team.
Disable teamswaping for any modes atleast.
The current (new) problem is the winning profession daily.
You only get it, if you are with the winning team at the end of the match. Before the patch, you’d get the winning reward even if you got switched to the other side.
No, if you are just joining hot-join to complete the daily as quick as possible, there is no point in playing at the loosing side.

Not true. You still get the win bonus and all that comes with it if you volunteer for the swap. You just need to play the whole match, so joining midway the match you don’t want to volunteer unless you’re sure you can turn the match around and win.
If you don’t play the whole match, for example abuse the specator mode to swap sides, you don’t get the winning bonus unless you are on the winning side at the end.
Note that even if you are on the losing side, and the autobalance happens, you will get the win bonus for volunteering for the swap, even if you don’t swap and will stay on the losing side for the whole match.
So in fact, the deserters are only making it easier for those who stay the whole match to get their win bonus.
So a short recap how to get the win bonus. Play from the beginning of the match. Press “I volunteer” when it pops up. Play till the end. Done.
With 540 laurels sitting in the bank gathering dust, I think I’ll take the Ascended.
And you’re not turning them to gold which would allow you to buy those ascended mats (minus the Vision Crystals that can be farmed 1-2 per day now), because…?
What I’m trying to explain is during 0-70% silverwaste there is no body. I can literally count the people and there probably isn’t more than 5 trying to take or defend keep.
Breech isn’t a problem. Since you can just post in LFG that you are almost at breach and people’ll start coming in.
That being said, the only reason I hope there are more people during the early phase of silverwaste events is it is easier to farm karma and badges that way. I suppose many people just felt the rewards is only good at breech so they only come at that time.
The people farming breaches are doing it because Anet’s RNG organ lottery.
I checked the wiki and went with the Chest of Ascended Crafting Materials as it gives you 1 Vision Crystal and 1 or 2 of Damask, Elonian, Deldrimor or Spiritwood (random). I was lucky enought to get 2 Damask
Good for you. You could also have got 1 Elonian, which is why the gamble is usually not worth it unless you’ve having real trouble gathering ascended mats (which I already mentioned should not be a problem with them dropping like crazy in the Silverwastes) for the Vision Crystal.
Well you could in theory rally your server for a WvW push to get at least the closest POIs each week as I imagine there are other players there who share the same problem.
But in reality I think your best choice would be to transfer to a server that is more active in WvW.

I didn’t see the camp as abandoned. Rather it was under assault by Mordy.
Well seeing how the vines have some kind of plotarmor I’m pretty sure the safest thing for the pact to do would be abandoning the camp and move forward.
But maybe you are right, we will see :P
Looking at the trailer again, it does seem that the airships are gone, at least. So it’s us and whoever was left behind to tend the camp to fight off the vines.
All I know is the Husk was usually killed first or second of the bunch before all this “NO AOE AT RED” spam started and now it’s either failing or being killed dead last. Coincidence?
If you think it is bad right now wait until the LS moves to another zone and watch it turn into Southsun Cove 2.0
Southsun cove has no rewards like Silverwastes do. If it was also dropping chests and collectible stuff (for example to unlock the sclerite weapon skins), it would be populated 24/7. As it is, people only do Karka Queen, but at least they do come there for that particular event.
Shouldn’t Mordremoth be easier to take down than Zhaitan? Zhaitan had a whole nation of corpses plus many ship crew to use from the beginning, spent 120 years to build its army and expand the territory, consume as much magic as it could. Mordremoth didn’t have such time and resources.
Zhaitan is a dragon that has to utilize already existing resources (corpses). Mordremoth’s creatures on the other hand (like Primordius’ Destroyers) seem to be separate beings. And, of course, since Mordrem creatures are plants, they can simply by seeded by the score (and, as we could see, can grow really fast).
Remember, canonically Zhaitan is the weakest of all the elder dragons.
Where did you get that? As far as I know, Mordy corrupts other living beings just like Primordus and the other Elder Dragons do. Plants don’t have organs and the Mordrem evidently do, so it would lead us to believe they are also (formerly) living beings corrupted by Mordy.
20 laurels equals about 26-27 gold with today’s pricing for T6 fine mats. Unless you really, really need that vision crystal and are not swimming in bloodstone/dragonite/empyreal (like everyone who have been farming Silverwastes) I think the choice should be easy.
I’ve been in Malchor Leap, Cursed Shore and other 75 to 80 areas. I find lots of Mithril.
Keep looking and don’t switch maps before you’ve found them. All of those areas will have the nodes if you just look hard enough. Keep in mind that you can check the node on your minimap by hovering your mouse over it. That way you can avoid checking on the mithril nodes over and over again.
The pact won’t stay with us any longer while we are taking care of the egg they are advancing into the maguuma jungle ( you can already see the abandoned camp in the trailer). With the next story release, I think we will finally reuinte with the pact.
And yeah.. we will get a ton of cliffhangers.

Analysts can throw off their speculation just as we can. No one is going to call them for not being right.
Some analysts have predictions as their job and therefore they usually based their speculation upon different indicators. ‘’none is going to call them out for not being right’’ is totally inaccurate because many will and these sources will lose credibility.
People invest money based upon simliar sources.
It is more than ‘’omg, I am a fanboi and I want an expansion’’ or the opposite.
Obviously they cannot toss these analyzations out without any thought, but the fact is it’s just a guess. The main difference to your average “fanboi” guess is that it comes from a business point of view, which I would agree is probably a better way of predicting things than a gameplay point of view. We are talking about a business that needs to make profit, after all.
So while it might amount to more than the “fanboi” guess, it’s still a guess and the analyst is in no way liable to it if you go and invest money on it.
Now being constantly wrong in your analysis might cost you a job, but being wrong only now and then will not. Nobody has a crystal ball and if anything, an analyst being constantly right would draw a lot of suspicion from the antitrust committees (whether or not he would have inside information or not).
There are only 2-5 nodes in each map, depending on the map you’re on. They also switch places on every zone reset, and given that you might be on a different zone instance every time you change map, they might switch around a lot.
