Looking forward to the bad players whining about not being able to complete the missions :p

Fixed it for you :p
awesome, thanks for the link
Yeah, I think it’s an MMO thing not a GW2 thing, really. No matter what a person’s playstyle is or how much they love a game, there’s always the potential for running out of things to do, either because you’ve already done everything you really enjoy or you grow bored with repeating what there is to do. For now, the dailies keep me logging in, but my play time overall has dropped since I’ve finished my main more or less and alts are starting to become tedious.
I don’t blame GW2 so much as the nature of the genre itself.
Not even the genre. This goes for all games. All sports. Hell, I’ve played Settlers of Catan dozens of time. It’s always the same game. Same rules, often the same players, whose tactics I know. Doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it, even though it has become “repetitive”. It’s just fun for me.
The best and most fun activities are those that you find intrinsically rewarding or fun.

I feel like “Sir Cadogan” when I point a flame thrower at a set of boxes and see
while (true){
miss
}clearly I have “the right stuff” when it takes me 15 seconds to smash a rickety rack of centaur weapons.
That’s nothing. How about me, as a MISTRESS OF ALL ELEMENTS (insert maniacal laughter here) have to haul buckets of water to wake up drunks or put out fires, instead of just dousing them with my icy blasts. Or when I need torches to remove flammable paint from ruins or light a crappy campfire to fight back the blizzard, while I can summon a firestorm in a heartbeat.
Humiliating
Weekdays:
Wake up
Work
Dinner
Have a snuggly moment with my boyfriend
Crash on the couch
Sleep
Weekends
Wake up
Guildwars: whatever tickles my fancy at that moment, whether it’s Orr runs, helping my boyfriend with his dungeon runs or participating in a guild event
Dinner
Sleep
I’ve learned today that apparently playing 6-8 hours a day makes you a casual player
If that is “casual”, what am I with my 10 hours a week?
A nice video about depth vs complexity in games.

soooo don’t play with those people? I don’t really understand the problem.
Basically, in GW2, don’t trust a stranger who refuses to use the trading post to avoid getting scammed. Easy as that.
I’m going to put myself in the line of fire here: Have you seen the little checkbox that said “remember this IP”?
The community here on the forums is aweful. Ingame though, I still have fun with the map chats and random groups I find while running through the world. I don’t see a lot of trolls on my server, thankkitten.
I use the forums to pass the time at work until I can get home and play the game itself
The question is. Do you find it awful because of other peoples complaints/issues on here? Many people do.
You have to be neutral, you have to see both side of things. Be constructive. Don’t complain for the sake of complaining, and don’t fanboy on it either, blind love.
Your question is answered by your last sentence. I don’t mind complaints, or criticism, or a good discussion. But there are too many people who complain for the sake of complaining, who have stopped playing but still come here somehow. There are too many people who will call you a fanboi if you disagree with them on one subject. And there are not enough truly neutral, constructive or open-minded people around.
That’s how it is, and how it also will be on mainstream games forums. People use this place to ventilate, and there’s alot of people. Just don’t call the entire community awful because of those people!
I didn’t
I specifically said only the forum community
Ingame, the GW community is the best I’ve ever seen, GW1 and GW2 both.
I noticed! But the forum itself isn’t awful either! I like the WvW threads for example. Most people there are writing their stories, having a good time, complimenting the enemy, etc.
You just need to filter out the blind hate and love.
Or maybe I’m in the wrong subforum. I usually only visit Discussion and Player Helping Player.
Funny how this thread won’t get deleted even though it’s not relevant to GW2 because it’s in praise.
It’s kinda relevant though.
Other MMOs outdated mechanics doesn’t cut it after i’ve played GW2. Not only is it a praise, but it is also a fact in my eyes! Kinda sad though, i have to wait for new MMOs to arrive before i try anything else.
(And yes, i can play several MMOs at once.)
Either that or no one’s working on the forums at ANet at this hour.
Depends which timezone the mods are in. It’s 11.15 AM over here

Thanks for all the tips on staff Air Will definately try air again if I’m ingame.

4 hours into TERA, my boyfriend begged me to return to GW2, because I was ready to throw my keyboard out of the window and chew my desks to splinters. Trolls ran rampant in chat, the exclamation-quest-system is something I really can’t appreciate anymore and the terrible female character design and animations… No. Just no. If I want to see a hooker, I’ll go to Amsterdam.

That… drawing… is… * cries*
I thought that if you don’t have enough money, the WP costs are directly deducted from your bank?
I would sell it Legenaries are not a realistic goal for a super-casual-farming-hating player like me.
The first time I ran a dungeon with a very good friend of mine, I noticed that she only used Fire attunement. When I asked her about it, she replied “but I am a fire ele and all my points are in Fire”. She can be excused though, this is literally her first MMO ever. In fact, she only played Diablo3 before GW2, so she had to learn how to walk when she first played the game.
So I created my own ele and showed her the versatility of the class. Imagine my pride when I caught her using Earth on our latest dungeon run <3.
I think it’s a shame if you ignore everything the ele has to offer. Every other class gets 2 weapon sets of 5 skills each, and 5 utility skills. The ele has 4 attunements with 5 skills each, and 5 utilities. Might as well use all 25 skills in combat.
Except air as a staff ele. Haven’t figured out a good use for air yet.
but we are all basement-dwelling nerds without girl/boyfriends anyway, so why would we want to give them away? Much better to buy them yourself and pretend it was a gift from a secret admirer. A fantasy within a fantasy world- how more awesome can it get?
I would never ever pay a sub fee for a game – any game. Ever.
Black lion chests or gem store.
You seem to have a lot of stuff… can I have it? *tries to look cute *
Be creative as a small guild leader. If the content can’t be done by your 10-man guild, why not go out there and work together with other small guilds?
Or use the forums, twitter, facebook to host a server-wide event?
Really, the only guilds that would be broken down by this, are the guilds that probably don’t have a good (creative) leader to begin with.

opened TERA, saw exclamation points…turned off TERA, opened GW2.
lol
hahaha
for me it took about 3 hours. First the aweful female characters and armors, then the horrible global chat and last but not least, the ancient quest system.
I got so cranky that my boyfriend begged me to stop playing it and return to GW2.
What I do is none of your business I 2box all the time no 3rd party software and a single input device. I also use 3 monitors and ati multi-monitor software for 3x the fov a single monitor provides is this cheating too in your envious eyes?
I missed the post where someone attacked you personally. Care to point it out for me?

why would it matter if they see an email?
I for one do not throw around little papers with my emailadress in a crowded city mall.
My emailadresses are private. All it takes is one bad apple.
I’m not getting myself hyped up until I’ve seen confirmation from anet itself.
I didn’t try the boxes, do they have a guaranteed exotic in ?
Or could they be mostly 2 rares and sometimes contain 1 exotic ?Yesterday I opened one to get one level 78 and a level 79 rare…
That’s a little… Disheartening.
yeh… I’m never buying those boxes again.

I see it. I see the Gathering of Storm right here in this thread.
Yep.. I think I’ll take a break from the whining on these forums until I actually see the patch notes.
Do you mean that aweful moan she made every time she was crippled? Please tell me that’s gone… It’s the only thing I truly hate about my sylvari.
Yeahs thats lame, also the time choice to do this is just stupid why not wait till the middle of the night when numbers are low anyways.
Are you serious?
Yeah i am, its possibe they picked the low volume time to do this according to their logs but it seems like later in the night would have been a better option.
Your night or my night?
Yay, something is actually challenging ingame, and now people are crying to nerf it.
Anet should turn all the risen into epic-loot-dropping bunnies. Maybe then people would be happy.
No opinion. I wouldnt mind if there was such a server, but I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole.
I don’t feel like convincing someone to come back. Go in, try it, and if you don’t like it, leave.
lol @ chat in screenshot.
Last night I dreamt that my boyfriend found Final Rest in a personal story quest. I suppose that does not count? (yes, I’ve been playing GW2 a lot yesterday :’) )
I’ve received some pretty foul treatment thus far. The fact that I have very few friends coming in is of no consolation. Here’s to hoping that situation rectifies itself.
What server are you on? Desolation is a pretty friendly server, if you are in the EU region.

My only house rule:
“Do what thou want”
so you can have an unfair addvantage over more skilled players?
No thanks..
pre 15 nov i didn t care about legendariesAfter 15 nov they should be easily obtainable being the best tier forever….
As said if you want some skins unique to prove your skill or to distinguish yourself, farm fractals for fractals skins or just craft one of those rare exotic few player haveThat is why instead of crafting some skins i like i m forced to save money for that awful legendary….
Man, I facepalm everytime I hear someone say “I’m forced to get a Legendary.” No one is forcing you, you’re choosing to.
If you want BiS equipment, use exotics now and get those ascended weapons when they come out. Because I somehow highly doubt the grind necessary to get the future ascended weapons are anywhere near comparable to the Legendary grind.
I don’t get it. You want to grind massively for a Legendary so….you don’t have to grind waaay less when Ascended weaps come out?
I facepalm everytime I hear somebody use the “nobody is forcing you…” argument. The arguement is a fallacy which in no way adresses the issues being presented for debate.
And how about the “anet is forcing me to get a legendary” argument? That is valid?
You stopped reading right after that first sentence, didnt you?
point is: right now, legendaries are not better than exotics stat-wise. And when the ascended weapons come out, you can just go for one of those instead, which should be less grind than the legendary one.
You can come up with a lot of arguments against legendaries and their grind, but “they are forcing me to” is not one of them.
Ok, so no stealth nerfs, no dr bugs, then why havent you then just closed the sticky thread on preceived loot drops? Why did you then say you are gathering the data and developing a process for it, when you already have a ways and means of telling? Something doesnt make sense here
To be fair, I never heard Anet say there was no DR bug, only that there were no intentional nerfs to loot tables. There might still be a bug somewhere (though thankkitten it has never affected me)
grabs popcorn
This thread is going to explode in a few minutes.
I actually want an old age option now that you meantion it.
Imagine having one of those skimpy outfits all the players put on their characters to make em look sexy.
Now imagine a 80 old woman all wrinkly and saggy and what not in the same outfit. Rofl I’d so do that.
I tried to create an older (human female) character once, but I deleted her instantly after I heard her too-young voice. It was horrible. If they choose to add older characters, you need to be able to change the voice as well.
