Guest on Tarnished Coast. I think you will find it’s your server.
Or Desolation if your region is EU
Can’t you ask your guild to contribute? After all: they did leave you behind.
I can see the threads already…
I have to do WvW for my monthly, but my guildie only has to salvage some stuff. I don’t want to do WvW! It’s not FAIR!
Jumping puzzle races
You couldn’t post this in any of the other tracker threads because?
Didn’t they do away with free transfers? I’d hate to have to pay to swap everytime I wanted to level an alt.
use guesting
Name: The Kitten (no, it’s not a censored word)
Type: Focus
Skin: Guess
Effect: It meows adorably every time you get a critical hit. It purrs when you are revived. And of course it sits on your shoulder between combat.
Reason: because kittens.
It is just a thread asking a question. If you don’t like it, you really don’t have to read/respond to it.
I don’t know if you’re talking to me directly, but if you are, it’s a discussion thread, any drama is created by people who fail at comprehension.
How is this fair, and how is this any different to the reasoning behind not adding the reward to the January monthly.
It may not seem like a big deal – a single missing laurel – but I still think it’s very unfair that those of who completed the daily early are being penalized for doing so. Much like I’d think it unfair if the January monthly contained a laurel reward.
How is this not whining? If you don’t intended this as a whine topic, you should write it differently. Right now, it’s more a fail of your own writing skills than our reading comprehension (or: if the whole world is against you… it’s probably you)
I keep headdesking at this thread. Why, WHY is this so important to you? It’s only one -ONE- laurel. So a few players have one whole laurel more than you. It’ll fix itself on the days when they are too sick/busy to play, but you can. It does not give them superpowers. It does not give them any advantage. AT ALL.
Haven’t seen a bot in weeks. But my server was bot on bot density to begin with. I don’t know when you quit, but there have been at least 2 massive bot ban waves already, and I haven’t seen anyone complaining on the forums in quite some time now.
I like underwater combat on my elementalist. Plenty of skills to choose from.
On my thief, I hate it. I only have two weapon choices, and only poisons (whom I suspect may be bugged underwater) and sigils are available. It’s boring. Weapon set one: spam 1 and 3. Weapon set 2: First use skill 4 to get close, then spam 5 and 2. Apply poisons when recharged.
And that for 80 levels and more. Yawn.
You know what would be awesome? shooting rainbow pooping unicorns from the back of my own pink unicorn.
Anet should make it so that I am automatically mounted on a unicorn as soon as I equip the Dreamer.
Especially when you consider that at some point this year they’re going to have an expansion and raise the level cap.
Source please?
Screw ascended. Chauncy Von Snuffles III is MINE
Is now the official term for a boss you just use ranged weapons and dodge his attacks.
Are you sure you don’t just want to make an MMO slang word out of your nickname?
I love it how this brings the community together. Now all we need a fitting title.
“jump for dailies”?
“insert server name here Suicide Party”
“Healer Project X”
It’s too early for me to have any creative ideas, that’s obvious.
Uhm… so basically you used a two person team, yes? Which means that formal group or no, you did not do it solo. Or spend 5 minutes in an Orr zerg.
And that many do not even know what a combo is, let alone how to use it. Which makes the whole thing ill-conceived from the start.
Play an elementalist and make you own combos if you want to solo it.
And BECAUSE many people didnt know what a combo is, it is actually a very useful daily. It lets people discover there is a more efficient way of playing than they’ve always assumed. It teaches people a tactic they can use, just like the dodging daily.
Is there a daily with dungeon task?
Nop. I completed the healer and dodging daily while doing a dungeon. I did not do the dungeon because of the dailies either, I was there for the tokens for my armor. I just happened to partially complete my daily on the way
I hate the changed dailies. The original ones weren’t a hassle, something everyone could complete in their own time and at their own pace. Now we’re dealing with things you HAVE to group for. I hate grouping, outside of PVP. I generally quit games that tell me grouping is the only way to go. I want to be in charge of my own time, and I detest standing around waiting for others.
I’m also really upset about finding ‘achievements’ which some of us are physically unable to do (twitch elements are rather hard on the physically handicapped). And I just don’t see the point in making people do things they absolutely loathe.
Can we please just get the old dailies back?
Which daily did you have to group for?
I did the dodging one during a dungeon run, but other than that one, I did them all alone. And the dodging one I could have done solo as well.
I spent a total of 60000 karma on those boxes (not counting the karma I got out of the boxes itself – I spent that as well). I got 1 destroyer sliver, and one corrupted loadstone, and the unidentifiable objects sold for 30 silver when I was done.
All in all, for karma that I had no other use for, I’m pretty statisfied with those boxes.
And seriously, what else do you want to spend karma on?
I want to spend karma on good rewards. Part of the big deal of rewards in this game was karma that could be saved and spent wisely instead of loot rewards from quest givers. Now Anet have messed the game up with , dungeon tokens, WvW tokens, Fractal Relics and now laurels as well as gold and loot drops. The reward system is a mess, convoluted.
The big idea of karma is now a big joke as it buys trash mostly, mediocre at best.
You can spend it on cooking materials or exotic armor. Those are good rewards if you don’t have them already.
I like the different reward systems. It gives me different options to achieve goals but also makes me think about where and when to spend my time to get the stuff I want, instead of only “grind this DE to get max karma to buy everything ingame”, which would be stale.
Sooo, you are complaining that fairly rare items are not dropping like rain anymore?
Kittens forbid that some items are actually somewhat more difficult to get…
Really, people do expect legendaries to be handed to them -_-
How it is now..
1. Kill X amount of Y
2. Kill X amount of Y in a different way
3. Craft/collect/gather X amount of Y in 5 different ways!= repetetive, grindy, no fun at all.
How it should be:
1. Kill the <insert name> champion at location X
2. Complete the dynamic event <insert name> at location Y
3. Complete explorable path X in dungeon Y
4. Finish jumping puzzle X= forces players to group up and travel to certain areas. I’m already seeing people LFM Daily! to finish all the dailies at once with 1 group you formed in LA.
Too bad if you can’t finish a jumping puzzle because it’s too hard, maybe tomorrow there is a different daily without a JP or keep practicing. I don’t mind if its a bit more challeging, or i can’t complete a daily, tomorrow there is a new daily to try it again!
I love these ideas, but be ready for the kittenstorm that happens should they implement this.
I mean, there are people whining about 10 seconds of crafting for kittenssake. Imagine the whining that would occur when people actually had to put effort in. shudders
disclaimer: no kittens were hurt while writing this post

I had the same issue in the map… check the WP all the way south. It was missing for me, even though I had that zone 100% completed before.
Your suggestions are pretty good, and I hope to see it somehow someday, but I do hope you realise that your idea will take more work than 2 weeks for Anet to create properly
With this patch they have made the first step toward a better Orr. Now let’s wait for the other steps they’ll have to take.
Diessa plateau, Orr and Foothills are all more heavily populated. I love it Though it’s a very, VERY bad day to be a grawl shaman.
He is supposed to be a very challenging encounter, but currently he is a wee bit too nasty. We will do some fine tuning in an upcoming build.
Thanks for the update. I was wondering if it was my noobishness with the event or that it wasn’t all me :p
This was actually the first time I was in Orr and thought to myself “maybe I should park a character here and play it more often”. It felt… different.
So yes, I like it a lot
And those boxes are perfect for my excess karma.
No, for all the reasons stated above.
Thanks Jayne
I forgot the name of the EU RP server, can anyone tell me? I want to jump in sometime to check the RP stuff
You could try sending an email to support@arena.net, but I don’t know if that’ll work. You’ll have more chance than posting on the forums at least…
He can still guest on your server, or did you want to WvW together?
Not correct, february will be the first month rewarding laurels for the monthly achievement. January still rewards the old way.
What’s your source?
Scroll until you see the second large red blob
I agree about the flat and disappointing storyline. In fact, my boyfriend and I spend our personal-storyline time either coming up with creative ideas to kill trahearne or find new objects to block his face from our screens. The first 30 levels are okay if you ignore the voice acting, but later… shudders
And yes, those eyes are freaky. Looks like he has a permanent eye infection.
About PvP.. well, when you walk near the mist asura gates in every capital there are Mist Warrior NPCs talking and answering questions about the mist… so that’s already been done
I’ll just say this. GW1 didn’t have all the skills it does now when that game first came out. Expansions will add new weapons and skills.
True, although a good amount of skills we might get in the future will be limited by the highly restrictive weapon based groundwork they have set already.
Depends. I think the system has potential if they let you choose between different weapon skills for example (e.g. Greatsword has 10 skills, you can choose 5 of them between combat). I think if they implement this, the system immediately becomes much more flexible without causing a lot of problems for balancing.
But if they’re actually going to do this… time will tell. For now, I’ll mainly play my elementalist, who has (4×5)+5=25 skills in combat
Orr armor is bought with Karma. They’ve also added some new items in Orr you can buy with karma, but I’ve yet to check them out.
Welcome to the game ^^
1. Not that I know, though it often helps in tight places to zoom in with your camera
2. fotm = Fractals Of The Mist, also called simply fractals or fractal dungeon. It’s the dungeon with its entrance in Lions Arch that has different levels of difficulty (short explanation. Long explanation -> http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractal)
3. Tbh, I have not played a warrior yet, so I don’t know.
4. Skills can combine with each other to form combo fields: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Combo
5. No clue what the big deal is, because I kind of like it myself :‘) As far as I can see, people are upset because they can’t get a certain type of armor (“ascended armor”) fast enough.
Btw, don’t hesitate to ask me stuff ingame if you happen to catch me online!
Sounds like you let yourself get overhyped. It is why I ignore all marketing talks for any game until I have the chance to try it myself.
I can make counterarguments for a lot of your points here, but somehow, I think they’ll fall on deaf ears. You sound like you already made up your mind and are not here for a discussion, only to vent some anger. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Didn’t you create this thread already somewhere? Sounds familiar.
Do I have to pray so that my teammates fall so that I have to revive 15 of them ?
Also do I have to take note of mobs that casts spells in order to get 15 dodge ?
Seriously this is the most non-casual friendly patch ever. If you wanted to make hardcore genre, fine. But at least leave some space for the casuals to enjoy getting some good gear.
I`m not a nerd and i`m not going to spend this irritating time trying to get these dailies. I wish I never purchased this game at all, pffffff…….
No, revive 15 NPCs
Dodge the red circles, there are plenty of those
I am a casual casual, and I’m having no problems.
large post
I agree. It baffles me, to be honest. The new dailies don’t require a lot more effort than the previous ones – at least not to me and not counting the bugged one.
Screw ascended, give me Chauncy von snuffles!
The problem is, you ~ From just reading the short amount of posts I can tell the type of person you are; seen them in every single MMo from the original EQ through to, ahem GW2 and honestly no offense here, you are the type of person which is bad for the game.
This game is, and always will be a casual friendly game. This was marketed as a casual game – everything about this game is casual, a ‘carebear’ game and I hate using that term because its idiotic and stinks of elitism. Once anet betrayed its original manifesto and headed down a completely different path, all hell broke loose – you honestly think, anet is going to risk another ‘storm’ like before?
CoE is a prime example of a nearly unpuggable instance – mostly from my point of view, sloppy design. Honestly, you could debate this games flaws until doomsday, but I’ve wasted enough time today on forum banter.
Dude. So leave it casual, and end stuff for the best players that want end game. NOBODY gets this… how do raids and content that end game players want affect a casuals gameplay? They dont. If you dont wanna run that zone, then dont.
Raided EQ2 for 6? years… the casuals did what they did, the hardcore did what they did. Guess what bro? After almost 9 years, its still making money with MONTHLY SUBS… omgosh.
Will you get off your high horse already? You act like you are Da Awesomesauce Pro-ness and every peasant should bow down to your every whim, because you are HARDCORE!!1!!
I don’t want a game where I cannot experience content because I have a life. Fractals are actually a brilliant idea, because I can experience them on low levels, while those wanting Uberness Challenge can do the high levels.
Yes, GW2 caters to the majority of the players, who are casuals. You might not like that because it does not feed your ego, but you are part of a minority, albeit a very loud and often rude minority.
And as long as you treat your fellow players like you do now, you are only poisoning the community.
I would in a heartbeat. No, it’s not perfect, but it’s still the only game I play in the few hours a week I can spare to game.
I think warrior is the class for you then
Seeing as it was only celebrated in Cantha and well, Cantha is lost somewhere, I guess not
When you’re all chilled out and you say “Adrenaline Rising!”
You’re at a hospital, and yell “Shake It Off!” in the hopes of curing people around you.
it would be more disturbing if you start rubbing people in the morgue to rez them
Yes, let’s punish the whole WvW player base to please the unlucky few players who happen to miss their guilds boat.
There is no pleasing everybody
