Disagree. Combat isn’t meant to be done on auto-pilot. Making positioning an important aspect of fighting something is what adds a bit of spice, instead of becoming just full on turreting and button mashing. Becomes even more prevalent in PvP.

GW2 is about as far removed from the idea of “Hardcore” gaming as most every mmo I’ve played. The lack of a wide gear treadmill is one of the reasons. The fact you can jump into PvP from the start of the game is another reason. GW2 goes to very long lengths to make this game very casual friendly. But I think the OP belongs to a group removed from even casual, maybe even “ultra casual?” That’s not meant to be insulting, everyone plays it their own way. It’s like the difference between Batman: Arkham Asylum and LEGO Batman. Not in the sense one is geared towards entertaining kids, but just that sort of casual fun-ness versus something maybe more serious…where the challenge is higher to get the rewards versus just being able to fire it up and get almost immediate satisfaction. I dunno if that make sense.

Which is funny because you’d think people would investigate their options on the Google Authenticator by searching for it using Google.

I’m going to be honest. You should have known that this game has no healers before you bought it right? You know that a FUNDAMENTAL part of this game is the lack of a healing class right? So why complain about something you KNOW will never be added to the game??

Google Authenticator also has a phone in feature, that will call you with the code or something similar. You don’t need to have a cell phone necessarily, an iPod Touch will suffice or an iPad if you have one. iPod Touch these days are relatively inexpensive, doesn’t even have to be a new one. Yeah, i found all three of the Orrian areas to be the least inspired/inspiring of the whole game. The mobs are just evenly spaced across all the terrain, there’s only one KIND of mob (undead), and the events seem to be more rare here than any other zone.

The terrain itself is just sort of “blah” and completely inartistic and non-beautiful, unlike the way the rest of the game is.

After 100 hours getting to lvl 70, i honestly expected more when I got to “home plate” so to speak.

It used to be a massive city and kingdom that was blown up and swallowed by the oceans, raised as an undead capitol by Zhaitan. It’s not meant to be pretty or beautiful.

Sorry about that.

Can’t help getting rustled when you experience an obvious bug in game, then have the forum fanboys tell you that the problem doesn’t exist. Gets frustrating after a while…

Who said it didn’t exist? But this thread stands as a shining example that it’s not a completely widespread an issue (bug in actuality) as people make it out to be.

One person on one account did a test. I doubt it stands as a model for determining if something is ‘widespread’ or not.

My point still stands though. For people like me, it’s best to put the game aside or do something else until we hear an update on this problem.

Except you have people confirming the same behavior, it’s not just one person. Do they all have to go and write it down for you people to understand that the problem is not universal and stop kittening on others or saying that they’re all “fanboys” which really just makes you look petulant, which I assume isn’t what you’re shooting for.

If you had a point before that closely resembled what you said there, then yeah I agree. But it’s the first time I’ve seen it presented…but it’s a good one. Wait and see, I like it.

Or like his chair is powered by some sort of experimental power source driven by a supermassive singularity. To the point it has an effect on how he perceives time and space. You never know man!

I agree with this. I REALLY got my money worth of GW2. My concern is for the replayability of the game, tho.

The DEs do not scale when you are 80. You have no point of going back to a level 30 map after completing it, unless you are helping someone.

I thought this was going to be something that GW2 would to differently.

As a positive example, I paid $60 for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and enjoyed the kitten out of it, but it still only filled about a 12 hour void before I stopped playing it entirely.

Thing is, people like you have blinders on when reading posts like this, there are many reported instances where just running a chain twice slashes your reward to next to nothing. Is running a fun chain two times in a row really farming to you?

Not to mention you seem to fail to read posts where ANet have admitted they messed up and things are not functioning as intended, and the system is SNAFU. These two things kind of scrape any meat out of your argument. But to each his own.

But then you have a thread like this:

Anti-Farming code overly detrimental to crafters

Why are bots so bad, anyway? Oh noes, vials of blood might becomes cheaper!!!!!

1) Bots operated by firms that sell gold online.
2) Bots farm materials.
3) Materials are sold on TP.
4) Firms sell that gold to players.
5) Repeat.

Since the monetization model for GW2 revolves around a Gems for Gold component, it will impact the game’s longevity. Not to mention it supports the influx of more gold into the game through artificial means. Even though there might be more vials of weak blood out there to buy, the gold to buy them also increases. More disposable income from some players can have an impact on the value of items. Since what are people likely to spend that gold they just bought on? I’d wager crafting materials are up there on that list. Increased sales would drive the price up again.

You do know that you can get exotics for very little, right? It doesn’t require a ridiculous amount of time like you imply it does. A full set of exotics can be crafted, bought off the TP… or you could buy a set off a vendor for 8g 88s.

Of course its easy!
According to you, I suck at this game and Im already fully geared.
If I can do it, any noob can.

But this isn’t about how easy it is to attain Exotic gear, this is about how people keep thinking rares and exotics are the samething only one looks better.

I like that the concept has a positive spin to it, but I find it somewhat upsetting that people actually thought that. Funny at first perhaps, but now I’m sad.

After thinking about it a bit more Debs I’m not entirely sure that’ll apply. It might since the systems work basically the same way, but I’m leaning towards that being specifically geared towards the Dungeon caps. As opposed to DE’s.

Yeah I am not seeing anything to suggest that this affects anything other than the dungeons. : /

It -may- be connected since both were implemented simultaneously. It all depends on whether or not the dungeon rewards use the same subroutines as DE rewards, which is entirely possible because it makes no sense to have two subroutines to do what is essentially the same job of displaying and depositing completion rewards. The limitations may be part of that shared subroutine. So a tweak to one may affect both. That’s how I’d do it if it were me anyway.

Serious point for a second, Orr is meant to be the stronghold and “homeland” so to speak of the Risen and Zhaitan. Is it not to be expected that it is going to be pretty much loaded to the kittens with Risen forces?
