Skip the mini? Sure. But then I might as well skip any other minipets as well. Look at it like this; What if that SWEET armor set you want was completely available ingame, but the chestpiece was only available if you were at gamescon? You can suck it up, but since you couldn’t know before you had the rest of the pieces you are just still left with a missing piece that you can’t obtain.

Also.. Item hoarding? What? Dude, there are collectible slots for minis, none of us were talking about banks space. Deletion of.. Items.. What? Just what?

Anyway, OP, you’re not the only one with the issue. While I don’t have it myself, I’ve tried to help a few who had it, assuming something was eating up all their RAM. A guy in my guild has the bug every few hours. While he only has 4 gb ram the game never uses over 1.5gb (thus he’s using a total of around 3.1 of 4gb ram. Running 64bit as well, nothing out of the ordinary. Yet the message still appears randomly.

What Absconditus wrote is pretty much the exact feeling any collector is left with right now. It seems far out if you have never been a collector, but for the ones who since release have mustered up gold and gems, played through various content and grinded Orrian Boxes to complete our mini collections this is just a bat to the face.

I stopped trying to keep up with “special” mini’s last Wintersday, when they introduced the RNG ones, but I still find this irritating. There’s nothing positive about these kinds of promotions – they almost seem designed to irritate people.

Foostivoo was a real kitten and had me really close to stop collecting. I thought to myself that I’d suck it up that one time. I play a kitten lot and can afford converting gold to gems once in a while, so I manned up to buy the gems for it. 50$ later and a bad taste in my mouth I had the kitten ed minipet. Never again though. I’m not doing it again.

A lot of people seem to believe that if an item is novelty, it has no value. As with things like skins the minipets value lies in simply having it, whether it is for looks or because you like to collect. It has value. Whether you need it to play the game or not is not essential.

I don’t even remotely hate Anet for handing out freebies to people who come to see them. But WHY would it be exclusive? What’s wrong with real-life t-shirts, keychains or even in-game gifts that everyone can obtain through play? Heck I wouldn’t even mind if they get the minipet before the rest of us, but why, why, why would it be unobtainable? It’s a part of the game. I didn’t read anywhere on the box that travelling across Germany was part of how to obtain in-game items.

Yea, its completely wrong to make an account bound mini that hardly anyone will be able to get. As a collector I would be VARY unhappy to find this out and will refuse to pay anymore gems to get mini’s because up to this time, I have been able to get them all and there is no point if I am not allowed to get this one. My collection would forever be incomplete. Its GW1 all over again with the Mini Panda and other special minis that were given to Tournament players and such. At least those were tradeable but it was nearly impossible to get still. It would be a big screw to those who are dedicated to getting mini’s.

Amen. I have collected every minipet up until this time (Still missing a few for guild commendations), and it’s as simple as that; If my collection can not be complete, I don’t want to collect. Anet needs to get their kitten together.

I must say, what a great achievement, to make this problem occur before the free trial begins.

It has been there for at least 9 months. It just gets worse when servers are full. Somehow Anet servers start to disconnect people when server is full. (At least that is true in many cases)

Ditto, this bug started appearing randomly and nothing changes it. It persists through formatting the computer and resetting the router. Right now i got kicked out in the middle of a fight with Scarlet. 40 minutes wasted with no reward because of Anet bug.

I feel the same way. I in particular find that new items doesn’t match income generated. I’ve been trying to collect all special minipets and get all achievements. That’s that. No legendary, no nothing. 1.500 hours logged and I’m worried I won’t make the new exotic minipets this time. For me (it’s ridiculous, i know), my collection is then incomplete and I might as well just stop collecting. Achievements are not a problem, but content vs reward is.

+1 for wanting to know. And wow. Those 3 are a cashgrab. It’s already 50gold for each or so.

Please delete. Got the achievement now. Still think there’s a bug in that if you get downed it counts as defeat though.

I actually think Anet has done really well on “challenging content”
There’s open PvE for the casual – By casual I mean people like my girlfriend who just enjoys exploring the world, maybe taking down a veteran, a Champion when she feels brave.
Then there’s the betweeners – Dungeons, WvW, PvP, maybe even some Guild missions and some achievement hunting
The hardcores/skilled people have the wonders of Fractals (Remember it was difficult until you figured out all the mechanics, continues to be difficult around level 30-40.), PvP, WvW (if you like zergs), Gauntlet for now and a few goodies now and then (Killing Mai Trin, even worse, killing without getting hit by AoE’s).

That said I would of course love more of the hardcore stuff. Anything is good tbh. We just got Gauntlet. I’m ok if Anet decides to do a few new zones or something before handing challenging content again. As long as they do add it.

This is totally our fault, we dropped the ball on this plain and simple. We planned to have this messaged ahead of time to be fair to everyone, communication broke down between those who knew it was supposed to be messaged, and those who were supposed to message it and it simply didn’t happen.

As game director this is ultimately my fault first and foremost, and I’m sorry for those who potentially lost some karma as a result. It is our policy to message these kind of changes ahead of time with lots of warning, I’ll do everything possible to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.

I’d recommend not using your karma consumables yet, give us a day or two to try and see what options we have available to help mitigate the issue.

They did not reach into your wallet because the karma was hoarded outside of your wallet. This is on those who were griefing the karma system, not Anet. On the plus side you can now free up bank slots, inventory space and use your karma buffs on events as they are intended.

So if it’s in my wallet you can’t take it, but if it’s in my closet it’s ok???

That doesn’t change the fact that they could have said, hey guys, use your karma now, and solved everything. It’s as easy as that.

Seems like they made it so that you don’t need to use a karma booster when using the consumables anymore. I’d call it a buff if anything.
