They respond to suggestions that add to the game…
If you want skimpier clothing there are games out there with higher ratings than what gw2 has and if that is not enough for your fantasies I am sure you are aware of adult sites out there. Skimpier clothing is not something that would add to the game nor would it look like it would provide any extra armor
Yes the lack of trading is annoying but they need to make money also. If your friend was a guildy then I suggest using your guild bank, you put it in and he takes it out.
Been running CoF a lot lately, I found the easiest option was to…. avoid path 3 altogether lol.
" I would re-roll the toon but I feel it would be a waste of effort to try and remake the same thing on a different race."
So changing a race is not the same thing? You would have the same thing on a different race, let’s be honest; you are too lazy to level another character to be same thing.
180+pages of endless, and repeating suggestions.
You realise that sums it up don’t you? After endless pages of the same repeating dung it gets a bit hard to reply to all of that don’t contribute or are exactly the same, especially when they have answered the question a hundred times over. It even states to search the forums before posting and unfortunately people don’t do that.
I mean they keep comments off the suggestions so they don’t get bound to keep the promise of.
They do not want to provide hearsay on items they are not 100% sure of. Everyone gets tired of the endless “we are working on it” also so I am glad they don’t reply to every topic.
As nice as I can say it but there is a lot of stupid in this thread, and some reasonable but not by a lot. Money is easy to make in this, yes it may not feel like you are making a lot at times but it does add up. Some days are better than others, not much you can do about that. Not everyone has 15+ hours to play a day btw and if you want full exotics and everything at the max then wait, play and work your way there like everyone else. The game does not require you to buy gold or use the gemstore, it is there if you want to use it, it is optional. There is no monthly fees, you don’t have to pay them a single cent after you pay for the game if you don’t want to. You make money in this game easy enough, if you don’t have time to run and farm some mats for 30 minutes to gain a little cash then you can’t complain, the people making cash are the ones putting in the effort and work. You can’t have it all and especially not for free. Discounted travel? Free travel? You crazy, the game needs you to spend cash to make you earn cash to make you play the game. They won’t lower the cost especially won’t remove it. Plenty of other games incur a travel cost but not just games; I offer you to try order a cab and demand they do it for free because you don’t have enough, see where it gets you.
I can’t read anymore on this topic, if you want cash then go earn it.
Is there a chance that guild choice could be per character instead of per account? I think that would resolve the issue, but what reasons are there for not doing this?
Not sure if you are aware LeahV but when you choose to represent a guild on one character you can go right ahead and represent another guild on another character. It does work and I would also advise against guilds that require exclusive representation. A guild needs to prove they want you as much as you want them.
It is respectful to rep a guild when you are doing guild runs with them of course, I believe that is fair.
I’ll take the option of shamelessly self-promoting Whispers of Acoma while I am here A PvX guild that are mature, friendly players. If you are stuck you need only ask us, we don’t require much from you but we would ask that you check forums or log on to teamspeak once in a while. Our info is below in my signature
Like when they said account wide dyes, for example.
Dyes have nothing to do with the thread, if you want to whine over Anet not fulfilling something about dyes create a topic on it please.
I will also +1 this, sick of looking at commanders everywhere, I want to see actual important people on the map, my guildies.
No idea if they would do this but I agree, one of the earliest funniest moments I had was the pet rock and I would love to carry accessories as sentimental items instead if i could.
EDIT: I have already collected a stack of those marsh frogs from bloodtide coast. In gw1 I was the same, carrying crap to remember gaming moments.

Well the norn shaman already exist that commune with spirits in a way that takes a long time to learn but its not a profession, like a seraph guard or the inquest, they are lore of races. caufenkamp.7210 is correct also that it just would not fit.
The vampire thing was done just recently with Skyrim and you don’t want the game looking like a copycat. With necro skills and ranger pets there should be enough “bite” for you. (sorry)
Impossible! Simply put, your home instance is based on your race. If you were to change race, personal story would need to change, NPCs would need to react differently, who knows what would happen to your armor/weapons if they tried to equip to a race that was not there. The amount of difficulty this would entail and the unpredictability of what bugs would and could occur is unfathomable.
I’m sorry but if you want an asuran with a priory storyline then make one, if you are bored of your human necro then tough, go create a charr necro. If you cannot stick to your decisions then either delete the character or buy more slots.
I can easily see a makeover pack for features coming into play, sex changes may be more difficult but race change…. i’m sorry, it will never happen.
I agree with this idea, a minipet slot would make me actually use my minis. I collect them but never use them for the simple reason they take up an inventory slot which to me are very valuable. The fact they deposit annoys me also, it forces me to carry an invisible bag or safe box with me just to carry the mini. A slot on the hero panel is a great idea, it cant be deposited, it doesn’t take up space and if I don’t want one to follow me around then i deposit it and don’t carry it with me.
Resources!
Let’s take Vabbian armor for example. You had 8 professions and ONE race so for Vabbian in Guild Wars 1 that gives them 8 seperate armors to create. Let’s say Vabbian is in GW2 also, 5 races plus 3 classes and 8 professions that gives you…. (a lot) so they would need to create (a lot) of armors to cater for each mix of class/race/prof and that is for just 1 armor. Think of how many armors are currently in the game and remember resources, a nice thought but it is too much.
in other words you were told to talk to a wall….no comments ever get made by a GM here, unless they are in a really good mood to prove someone wrong by doing just the opposite of what has been seen as normal.
Aside from a whole section on “what the devs are saying” and the fact they reply to many topics here when they are sure they can give an honest and reliable answer rather than heresay. I could write more but the OP has been answered by the post above me.
You are a new character in a starter zone. At lvl 10 you unlock the harvest tool spot.
I don’t think people would be very happy with having to wait for any level to start gathering. Anet stated you could level your characters through crafting, if they force you to fight monsters until level 10 before you can do this would be, in a way, going back on their word.
What would be suggestion bounced off your idea is a starter tool which is basically the copper or iron tool which is affordable to newbies every tool after that could take the form of this evolved tool which harvest all materials but takes different durability based on it’s level and this one could cost enough to make it a nice goldsink and would be affordable by the time players are finished with the iron tools areas.
Well you are unaware that there was a bug recently that allowed armors to be transmuted on to other classes but this was fixed as this is not intended for the game. You can generally tell what kind of foe is running at you based on their weapon and the skills they are using, a charr with a greatsword may look menacing in either heavy or light as if it’s not a warrior then you got a mesmer coming at you; which is worse?
You can always preview other classes armor on your character, there is no glitched or clipping issues as all races can be all professions, a human necro stands the same way as a human guardian.
I like the idea of more town clothes, but as it is only october I say give it time.
Had enough! That pretty much sums it up. After playing for the past month, levelling, crafting, enjoying the game I have to stand up and state how shoddy the camera is, for puzzles it is atrocious. I love the puzzles, don’t get me wrong but a few of them need work, I have gone through a few of them on different races as well so I am aware of which ones are hard/frustrating.
The fact of the matter is the main problem with puzzles is the camera, I have sometimes spent an extra hour on a puzzle simply because the camera is rammed so far up my ar…. mor that I can’t see the jump, can’t make it or even worse I get all lined up and my character bugs and does a skip instead of the jump which makes him fall to his doom.
Collision is another problem, the amount of times I have missed a jump because my character bonked his head on an invisible piece of scenery. The camera gets stuck in walls or sometimes goes through them which is fine as I can pan the camera except for the little problem of the scenery not being see-through and effectively blocking my jump all together. Anet, I love your puzzles but something NEEDS to be done about this camera, I know you are working on it but really, it can’t come fast enough. I have played my fair share of games over the last 20 years to know that this camera is in my top 3 of worst game cameras.
Please take note!
If Anet listen to its player base they will cripple him beyond repair, no need for him to die as they may need him for lore or future content but it would show that Anet has listened and cared.
Who is Drizzt? Everyone’s referring to him and I don’t even understand the reference(or joke) that’s being referenced.
A simple Google search should inform you, Informer
Thanks for the info guys, we will try to plan it better next time.
Is the NPC chatter and player quotes playing too often? The answer is yes My 3 year old son has begun walking about the house saying “Eat my dust!” Still unsure if that is a good/bad thing but I think it’s cute and in years to come when I look back and remember my son I will remember this line, I will remember guild wars; and that is something that will stand out for it.
Whispers of Acoma sounds like your kinda place http://www.gw2guilds.org/view-guild/2917 we have forums, teamspeak and you can log on whenever you like, there is little requirement we ask for besides being helpful and friendly to your fellow player.
I am a little OCD myself, darn those juicy looking titles; remember, it’s not a grind if you love it
Usually items don’t show up once you have achieved all possible discoveries, while the MF is different I think that Sup. sigils have no item to be forged into. They are already at max correct? what could you forge them into?
The vendor in Lions Arch clearly states there are no refunds; so I try to avoid that merchant and use only Norn approved vendors.
Lmao.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Master_Mining_Pick The wiki mentions it ranges in what it can and can’t mine. This seems to only be on the MM-Pick page but not the other two tools. I can’t offer any other info besides them being not as good as you would think/hope.
Half the Iron in 20-30 and 30-40 zones needs to be changed to copper
in Crafting
Posted by: Turial.1293
Can’t have enough iron in your diet :P but seriously, if you want more copper then farm the nodes, if you want less iron then don’t mine it. Yes there is a fair few nodes but it’s not really a balance issue as you might not even be levelling a craft that uses it or perhaps you are already past that material in crafting level and you have no use for it anymore. It is as simple as mine or don’t mine.
Stice.5204Did you know that a monster attacking your pet does not put you in combat if the pet doesn’t fight back, which means you don’t get slowed down?
Good info to know, this always annoyed me.
I still would like them to look at the stow pet function though, if I am doing a jumping puzzle and take a little damage as I go from rock to rock then I have to stow it every time. I think it would be much more player friendly if it only came out when I actually attacked an enemy, for those rare times that you are running past enemies. Honestly just an option for it would suffice.
Fern Hound is possibly my favourite looking pet in the game but i think pets are a little under powered; don’t get me wrong the versatility is great but I wish they had a bit more bite.

On the one hand we don’t need every ranger being drizzt, drizt, drizzit, drzt, drizzzzt, etc. (you see my point) but then again in my off hand i could be wielding a second sword!!! (see what i did there?)
“We are considering it. now you know, and knowing is half the battle…”
GO JOE!! I mean jon, but yes, good to know.
If you only gain points when enemies are in the circle then I really don’t see how being AFK will help you. Have you tried holding off even 1 enemy without doing anything? You will not last 20 seconds lol, 10 if you are lucky.
Great idea, I think it would be much more useful in the Suggestion Forums though mate.
Hi guys, went to do CoF exp for the first time recently with a few PuGs, we chose path 3 but had problems with the torches in the first area, needless to say the group didn’t go ahead. Just looking for some tips here, I found the respawn time of the enemies plus the ~5 second window to light all the torches simultaneously was fairly difficult. Part of the problem was not being able to get the PuGs to respond in chat nor join the Teamspeak server so we could discuss and light torches together. Too many respawning enemies for everyone to hold out solo, best we got was 2/5 torches. Any help is appreciated.
p.s. enjoy finding one
Check out Whispers of Acoma – we play the game the way it was intended.
I think there is nothing wrong with using the game genie on the NES as that was just you and the game, other players were not involved. Final fantasy and xploder on the PS1, still ok in my books as they were not multiplayer but the moment it becomes a place where your cheating ruins an experience for other people I am against it. Flying over WvW, wrong; Karma exploits, wrong; skipping to dungeon rewards; wrong.
The moment it starts messing up the game for other people then I consider it wrong, I am like you, i prefer to get my stuff the hard earned way, I don’t care if it takes me several months longer, I am enjoying myself and not bored after 2-3 weeks of buying the game. honestly, I doubt you will be banned but they will most likely nerf the dungeons in some way whether it is good or bad.
Bump
WoA accepts people from all walks of life, we don’t judge on gender, race, personality or lifestyle. As members from the early days of Guild Wars we love to discuss lore, gaming style and helping people to get the most out of their play time, we are always on hand to help.
It doesn’t matter how long you can get on for nor how good a player you are; if you share our same values and are looking for a dram free guild and one to call home for years then call WoA, a guild where you can log on, say hi and unwind always.
I know that feeling Billy Whispers of Acoma puts no restraints on our members, we are laid back and focus on helping our members. We have events and do all aspects of the game, we also have forums and Teamspeak but none of this is mandatory. Just be sure to have fun so message us in game or here and lets see how we click
Sounds like a few people I know Whispers of Acoma is the no-nonsense, mature, friendly and helpful guild you seek; we have forums and Teamspeak, do events daily and focus on helping guildies.
We like to recruit from all time zones so there should always be someone on at your time, while mainly PvE we dabble in all aspects of the game. If you feel like some PvP, WvW or a dungeon run then you need only ask, there is no pressure on our members as we are laidback, we only ask that you are respectful and mature.
We work around you, and the kids. Potty training, network cables getting pulled out, homework, dinner or worst of all when they have been silent for too long – we know it, we experience it ourselves come join our TS or whisper us in game for a chat. WoA can accommodate you for a long time.
bwahahaha, darts is an excellent idea
Last time I checked it was 41s to buy 100 gems and 100 gems to buy 35s so if you were to buy 100 gems with real cash currently it would cost about $1.10 if i am right? ($10 for 800) If you choose not to spend real cash then you have to deal with the reality of gems costing a lot of in game cash, that is the reality of the system.
Doing this would be so obviously absurd that I see no need to explain you why.
So incredibly constructive I see no reason to expand.
As I said, originally a joke a response and the numbers are just a rough guess. How many small tokens would you find in a day anyway? 20-30 before you leave that area or log off for another character or for RL. A bot could farm upwards of 200+ tokens providing they have enough hacked accounts and such, by limiting the amount of drops it limits what amount a bot could farm but not by how much a normal gamer could farm. Anyone that spends 3-4 hours farming grubs shouldn’t be awarded an infinite supply of T6 materials, they should get butter or something after a material drops for 200th time.
Also there is no monetary gain for gaining too much xp (not counting using 200sp for a rare material) nor for being a high rank in pvp.
(edited by Turial.1293)
They only just made the tokens account bound about 32 hours ago or so, I would assume they would make them collectibles in the future.
+1 for them as collectibles.
There is no way to say which is a better set, what you find beautiful I find ugly and vice versa. Why should I farm a dungeon that I don’t like but you do for 3 times as many tokens because you feel it’s armor is nicer?
Your argument defeats itself, it is its own response.
Edit: you are also working for the skin, the stats can be changed with a transmute stone.

This sure would cut down on travelling expenses. It’s either this or frequent waypoint miles Anet :P
Richter raises a good point but I am still along the lines of certain items taking a collectible slot like the mystic coins; maybe not the repair canisters.
It was available in GW1 and other games so I don’t see why not. Most likely it is coming in a future update, will be looking forward to it also; one of the reasons I don’t play my necro asura is because I hate his face but really don’t want to repeat the content I have already done so far with him.
As a jeweller I send lots of gold and diamond rings to folks, does this mean I am a polygamist?
Ok well I made this as a joke response but I think it may be credible in the long run, what does the community think?
Two suggestions for future explo… i mean legitimate farming -__-
Have materials not drop more than 25 of itself per 24 hours – should stop farming, casual players have a chance as they may not even even have time to play let alone farm 25 of every mat, increases dependency to buy on the tp.
After killing a certain enemy (100/day) or looting each mat 25/day make a soulbound item which cannot be destroyed (farmers lousy tshirt of “i farm all day”) – this would make people stop using that character to farm or their inventory will soon end up with an item they can only ask anet to destroy off their account.
From the moment I saw the first one in game and found out that it was 100g to get this my first thought was “great, I wonder how the game will look once everyone buys one of these”
You can buy gold with real money so being a commander means very little, the icon shows you have wasted 100g and will eventually cover maps. I can’t offer an alternative but I would ask for it to be reviewed or removed.
(perhaps a title – commander)
