So when I get an unidentified dye I can sell it and make a pretty penny. Why shouldn’t I? If I care about dyes I buy them/find them, if I don’t then I sell them and get rich. It’s is a win/win for players, there is no downside to it.
Yes invisible bag does work but the idea of a mini slot on the hero panel has been raised before and I am all for that. I never bother with minis because I value inventory space over minis. A mini slot would be the best idea to please everyone as it is there, if you don’t want to use a mini you don’t have to and it doesn’t take up a slot.
I got a mail about a deleted post yesterday, the post was from over a month or two ago and it was lost upon myriads of other posts in the thread. I am wondering do moderators have to reach a quota or something. I am disappointed how they handle a lot of forum things, I also expect this thread to be locked but personally we should be given a way to voice our opinion when something gets deleted outright. Perhaps moderators only could just give us warning points and that is visible to other members so we can tell if the poster is someone ridiculous or not.

It seems Anet does not like the idea as much as some players do since they don’t allow numbers in names and such. That’s fine, I guess they want to keep the game more as a roleplaying thing.

Yes but you have to show some imagination here. Your choice is constantly deleting and remaking to save a name or giving the names a twist so that you can hold on to your characters and actually make cash and get far in the game. If you are not bothered about proceeding far into the game then why worry about what your characters are called?
I’ll assume Cinder is the name you are “attached” to, why not try “Cinder of Elements” for an Elementalist, “Cindero Roboto” for an Asuran golemancer, or even “Protection of Cinder” for a Guardian. All it takes is imagination and with GW2 your friends can find you by your account name so it does not matter what your characters are called.
And I like having my alts do everything Thankfully the PvP is seperated, new armor, all skills, level 80. My characters each have 2 crafting choices so I don’t have to keep paying for one character to switch between them all. I personally like having the choice, when guildies or friends are doing a dungeon I like to be able to offer them a choice of professions.
I think it would be a great idea. Also is it possible to make unlocked dyes account wide instead of character based?
Short answer; No.
Long answer; You can’t add the same dye to the one character. If you unlock an “Abyss dye” on your ranger and lucky enough to get a second one it will say it is already unlocked on that character. You can still send it onto another character to unlock it or sell it for cash.

Different characters have different names for a reason. If you want to keep deleting and remaking to try out a different storyline or character just because you like the name…. well, that is just silly.
To keep it simple for the OP there is already a way to do this in game. First off, turn on fast-cast, secondly click on the skill with your mouse. The spell goes off exactly at your characters feet. You also have the ability to place your mouse across the screen and use your fingers to click the numbers so that they cast anywhere when you need to do that. You are putting yourself at a disadvantage by not using your fingers to hit the numbers. This works for Elementalist spells, Ranger traps and other skills that use ground-targeting.
And having only 1 character is completely fine, that’s how you choose to play, I have a guildie that refuses to make alts at all. Personally speaking I feel you guys are missing trying other characters out but each to their own, you will finish up things a lot faster than I sure will
I’m on my 520th hour right now and am nowhere near having a full five-man-roster of Lvl 80 characters. Why? Because I’m taking my time and enjoying the content, not rushing forward with the singular mentality of “get to Lvl 80 as fast as possible”.

Well said, and ditto! Of course I am an Alt-a-holic and currently have 8 to level and gear out. It was weeks before I got level 80 and weeks again after that before I finished the story as I spent my time enjoying the game and experiencing lots of things.
So 4 days of play time is too much effort for you then? You are entitled to it all after one day? If that happened…. well, that is a waste of 60 bucks or whatever you paid. I played GW1 for seven years on/off and still played it up until GW2 release. I’m glad of the constant things to do and glad I was not finished with it in a week. Start learning to put effort in and work for things or stop playing.
I have noticed that a lot of players are upset about the fact that once they destroy their original starting equipment that it is gone for good – example; the Mesmer masks, the Guardians shoulder/helm with the ankh symbol. Why not let players re-craft these items? Other players have been complaining about not enough diversity in early armors, my Guardian had the same chainmail from level 5-25 just with different stats, took a while to have a matching set too that was not crafted.
I remember when I missed my pre-searing armor, sad I didn’t keep it. Then when I learned I could craft it in Kaineng I was ecstatic, it is still my main armor for my Ranger in GW1. Players come attached to their starting armor, especially when it has a unique look as some of the starting armor here.
So all I ask is you let us craft it, maybe in the 25-75 levels as that is always the slow end of crafting in my experience. This would also fix the problem of people wanting more diverse armor early on.
Would be nice if they made WvW loot automatically go into your inventory purely for the fact there is so much happening around and you can get wiped in seconds depending on where you are. PvE carries the luxury of looking around and taking your time, WvW does not.
So for when they run out of bots and you have not hit your achievement you just start reporting players you see? A nice thought but not something that will help progress the game at all.
In other words, you don’t want to leave the zerg in Orr and miss out on farming karma/coin? You either put in the effort or you don’t get it, like all achievements. I am sure the time you spend in Orr makes you enough money to buy a mystic coin and enough karma to equal the jug you get from the daily.

It is sad to see, or not see may be the case here. You work hard for titles, some more so than others, but you deserve to show them off. As for cluttering, there is already the option to turn names off so it would not be out of their power to have an option for you to turn off titles. Titles are barely visible and need to stand out more, I also miss being able to highlight my own character. I want to see my own titles, I want to see that 100% map star over my head but I cant :/ and it makes me sad. Do my achievements matter? What is the point? Achievements are there to show off.
I concur and put my vote down too. You did it once, you can do it again. It is not something that could break the game or ruin it for other people so it makes sense to create this for the community supporting you since GW1
Sure it can be construed as a technical limitation but they created it from scratch, they can change it. As said before, Whirlpool was changed so there should be no problem switching this to be more effective.
Just an idea about providing a bit more info on the guild upgrades panel. I have provided a screenshot to help explain what I will say. Why not add info such as where the upgrades get researched (when you are looking at them in the ‘current upgrades’ tab) and how many you can create at once.
The difficulty with this title is that it’s either a matter of complete luck or of money alone.
Is that not true for several titles? If it is worth 0 points then why even bother? As for adding and removing dyes, they could just make the achievement be countable and not include every dye possible. 4 tiers of a total 150 unique dyes or perhaps one counted every time a dye is unlocked on a character, 10 tiers of 300 dyes unlocked.
The people that are constantly complaining just suck at the puzzle, no ifs ands or buts.
Actually that is not true at all. What took me about 3-4 hours could have been done in 15-20 minutes had it not been for trying to see my character through the initial mouse release. It eventually got to the point where I learned the first 10-15 jumps by heart that I could avoid looking at my character if it got too messy. After passing that sideways cog it was always smooth sailing, always. The tower is a 5/10 puzzle, with the extremely fast goo it is 6/10 but with the other players blocking you for the first half it makes the puzzle 10/10 so don’t say that is the players fault. Some may suck at it but that doesn’t mean anyone who has not finished it sucks; you should stop being so judgemental and elitist. The people complaining all raise mostly the same points and they are not wrong, if this puzzle was instanced then a lot more people could make it and then it would be down to them sucking or not as it is only them at the puzzle and in all honesty it is not as difficult as it seems minus the fast goo and other players.
I would say this puzzle is a 5/10 in itself, 6/10 because of the goo and 10/10 due to the other players with larger characters distracting you. It is a fun puzzle but people won’t see that unless it is instanced.
@ESKan, that is a big IF though. I am sure, if enough players ask for a 24 hour window at least they will stay true to the players. When GW1 added that option for everyone to be in with a chance to get the item and not just for that 1 time chance, the players rejoiced. They also solidified players happiness when they brought in the collector who stuck around for several days after to offer the special item in return for a stack of goodies. Fingers crossed for this kind of foresight on their part again.
I know that Stability grants protection against many effects but I wonder should Hallowed Ground be unusable underwater? Stability is great and it is a very good skill but since the Stability effect grants protection vs. float and sink but you can’t protect yourself from it underwater via this skill. The Sanctuary skill is also a consecration skill and can be used underwater so I see no reason for this to stop Hallowed Ground doing the same. You may have to redo the animation on it but that should be no problem, Whirlpool for the elementalist was looked at so why not this?

Don’t forget the sound, if you turn your camera away from sound in the game you can only hear it on the side you still have directed at it. Also, most characters heads follow a target as it moves around them.

Yes I can sympathize, the only difference with that is if you fall at Trolls End you just walk back about 20 feet and jump again. With DR you need to complete a puzzle first before entering it and if you fail you die which eats up silver also. There is no real danger in TE, just frustration.

It does make a difference but just about, the point I want to make is by the time you have learned that you could have spent a lot of silver and time and tears just to learn that and you shouldn’t have to.
hair accessory color = eyes/etc? pft. whatever. it’s a bloody ribbon. or headband. in the real world, we match these things to what we’re wearing. in the real world, we take one off and put another, of a different color,

I cannot understand how you folk do not get this? It is not an armor piece that you can change, it is a texture that you have coloured at character creation. End of! That IS what it IS, there is no argument over that. It is not Anets intent, it is how game design works, there is no leeway.
Like tattoos and their colours, like eye colour, like skin colour; you are stuck with what you have chosen unless they create a makeover pack. If you want it different you will either have to wait or recreate your character, failing that, wear a helmet so you can’t see it.

Yes this may very well be a rant but I would also like an opinion off the player base too. Who has actually enjoyed this jumping puzzle? Is there any reason why it should be so frustrating? I enjoy the puzzles and have completed quite a few and many times over but the most frustrating thing has to be the camera in these areas; especially Dark Reverie.
Why do you have to complete a jumping puzzle every time to get back in here? Why does the camera have to be so buggy because of the enclosed spaces? Why do you have to kill everything in the way so you are not slowed down when making simple jumps? Why are the jumps so awkward? Why does there have to be branches above your head which knock you down? Why is there that 1 mushroom right at the end that is pointed in such a way that you have to have Abaddons luck just to make it?
I got this puzzle eventually but its not a puzzle, it is a joke; it is frustrating platforming. There is no skill involved, it is all just luck. So far I have counted 3 puzzles in the game that need serious redevelopment, this is one of them.
Anyone care to disagree? Do you enjoy this puzzle or do you think it needs fixing?
Jumping puzzles I love, the camera for them I hate; that is their real downfall. Stability stops you getting knocked down by the wind, listen to Beyreva above and get a friend if need be.
I agree that you should be able to dye the hair accessories. It shouldn’t be locked to character creation. Comparing it to eye colors and tattoos is a specious argument. Makeover packs are a poor solution. And, saying that’s “just the way it is” in a suggestion thread is silly in that 1) suggestions are meant to change “the way it is” and 2) unless you’re a developer, you have no authority to make that decision.
I am comparing them to eye colour and tattoos because that is what they are, just because it is called an accessory does not mean it is one that can be equipped or modified. It is a character creation graphic like a tattoo, a scar and a hairstyle, that is what it is and it is very unlikely they will be changing it without remaking the character or with a makeover pack provided they will exist in the future.

I support this post a million times over, there is a lot of problems with achievements from them either not completing or monthly ones repeating once you finish them. I hope Anet is working on this.
It’s true, these items are being wasted. I have said it before and say it again I support the idea. I like carrying the pet rock but can’t because I want good stats as well. Let me waste a transmute stone on it, no big deal. Also, nice reminder to the dye bags, that was a nice feature and I availed of that too
From reading I have to agree that both sides have very good merit and WvW is PvP and PvE combined.
Split achievements:- This seems like an obvious choice to clear up any frustration. Some servers will never own SMC and while transferring servers will help them get the completion there is not guarantee they will get back to their server anytime soon but it seems for certain players this might be their only chance to get 100% but what about when world transfers are gone and when they start charging gems? That is when the community will get riled up, having to pay gems just so they can get 100% and it is not down to their skill but their server population/skill.
Low server – no 100% – no legendary (something needs to be looked at)
100% Achievement:- Let’s be frank here, if you have not been there nor done that then do you really deserve the achievement? Not much to say on this one.
I agree with both sides on this matter, yes something needs to be thought of in the future as it might be impossible then (it is not impossible now but just takes time) but you should also do WvW and prove you were there for the achievement.
Honestly I no longer play story past claw island on my alts, all previous story I can stomach but the moment Trahearne comes out I stop playing, I don’t care I am missing out on xp as all the story is the same, did it once, never again. I would not mind repeating the same story but bad writing is bad writing.

Hair accessories are a creation feature like norn tattoos, you are stuck with what you chose until they create the makeover pack, if they do that is.
You can’t change your eyes, ears or personal story choices after character creation, that’s just the way it is. The hair accessory is not a piece of armor, it is part of you character.
I like the thought that has gone into this, detailed and well planned. I love samurai but would hate to see a class based on it Also I would like to see the game reach xmas before they even mention an update relating to new classes or areas. First off, worst title ever. Please learn to use a titles that explains what you are talking about unless you want to see it get deleted.
The suggestion of a confirmation click mail is a good idea, a few times I have sent mail to the wrong people because it auto targets the person closest to me in a town. Don’t know why this happens but it happens. Also as far as I know if the character does not exist then the mail does not get sent.
I would also like to see an outbox so I know who I sent mail to.
You get a downed penalty when you get knocked to the ground, if you are downed 5 times in a minute you are instantly defeated the fifth time. Lower health and stats when you go down each time is annoying and teaches you to not go down or you stay down. Add on repair costs each time you are killed and there is your 2nd penalty. Those penalties are enough I think.
You are spoiled by Fable, that game was built around diversity and sexual orientation and large, fat, skinny, evil, pure, tiny people. Most people want all of that kind of character customization in every game now but it won’t happen as most games don’t have the resources to build a ton of new armor to satisfy every kind of person a player wants to make. Look at soul calibur for instance, they generally have a good character creation but that’s due to them having a smaller game, no need to worry about building a large world or anything else time constraining.
Weapons don’t dye, won’t dye. The transmute stones are there for that reason, they were created the way they were. You will just have to keep going till you find a skin you liek and transmute it. As for the glowing weapons, look at the dungeon rewards from ascalon catacombs, it is their unique feature and won’t be put on other weapons.
This would be a nice feature to reimplement, seeing the huge dragon for the first time and listening to the epic accompanying soundtrack of Soule was really the best moment of the beta, it felt as if I was about to get everything I had been waiting for as soon as I logged on.
I would say they removed it due to constraints of some kind, they needed to share their news somewhere and it is sad about the password helper too, I thought that was an interesting idea.
