Primordus – AKA the first, it is far more likely that he will be the last.
Well Charr is the most well developed race in my opinion Have you heard of WoA? If not join us on our Teamspeak and chat to us, we could go on for hours about the lore of GW and the Charr. Our TS info is on our website, link in my signature, chat with us as I won’t be in game for a few hours yet.
Hi Pervin (hope that is not a reflection on your personality)
Whispers of Acoma can offer you what you need; Teamspeak, forum, about 50 members, daily events from dungeons to pvp, mature, friendly, helpful. You can join us in dungeons without even being in the same server, you would be limited about teaming up in other areas though which is a pain until guesting comes in but check us out anyway, chat to us on Ts and decide for yourself. The copy/paste stuff is below also
This is what we offer;
Friendly Guildmates (Warbandmates for the Charr among us)
Dungeon runs ~ Including Story Modes (remember, you can do a dungeon with anyone on any world)
PvE Exploration (not just 100% of each map, but searching each nook and cranny)
PvP Events
WvW Events
Impromptu Events
Teamspeak 3 Server for VoIP, for use any time*
Forums for internal Guild chit chat ~ We know that people often play more than 1 game, use these forums to share your experiences with your Guildmates
Helpful Leadership/Officers ~ the crux of any Guild, beyond its members, is a team of Leaders that understand the needs of its members. We promote helpfulness throughout our Guild, but even more so in our Officers.
Shared resources ~ We don’t expect members to give up anything, but often times we have a few resources left over from a crafting session and we know we won’t need that chunk of Silver Ore again, so it goes to Guildmates first.
Shared loot ~ Our Guild bank, small as it is atm, is a place to drop Green items you just don’t want to vendor but think someone might get use of.
And just about anything else a Guildmate might need, that doesn’t take advantage.
What we expect from our members;
Accept Guild Invite
Represent the Guild when you can/want
Nothing else ~ it’s as simple as A B (don’t even need C) ~ You get out what you put in to a Guild. The more you represent Whispers of Acoma the more you get out of it.
Whispers of Acoma is currently based on Crystal Desert (US) as Homeworld, but we are recruiting across all Worlds. In those worlds where we get more players we will assign World Officers that can purchase upgrades and so forth.
I have to ask…. darts?
It was removed before launch, the reason the wiki still references it is simply because not enough players are maintaining the wiki; the black lion chest page still makes reference to it also but the actual page on the butler does state that it is removed.
edit: And no, no explanation was given why.
I had a roman styled tunic on my 12-24 charr for a while, try the low level charr heart vendors.
you mean holding the CTRL/ALT buttons Soultrain? o_o
Simplest answer, are you representing the guild you created?
I noticed that when you send several mails to the same player it ends up being a conversation, can you not give me a new message every time i get a reply from that player, just update the message and make it show it has replies again.
My suggestion though is to have these conversations reversed, it is nice to see all the messages together but it shows the oldest first and I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the response, any chance of having the newest response first and oldest last?
Excellent response Pachi, I will flag that comment as the answer, it gives both the pros/cons of soul bound in a nutshell, a very understandable nutshell.
Well I smiled and feel a little warm and fuzzy on the inside if that counts.
I have clicked on subscribe to certain topics but yet to see what it does (maybe I am missing something?) but either way my suggestion is for our forum profile to have an option “View subscribed threads” so I can have these topics in one handy area instead of searching all my forum posts or checking the forum areas i visit often to see if there has been a reply yet.
I would also suggest along the same line that any topics we create ourselves are automatically subscribed to – it would make sense
I would love to see the the GW1 customise option come back, in return for locking a weapon to your character you got 20% base damage added to it.
If only you could jump, when using tonics, this would be a non-problem… AND make tonics useful.
+1 for this post, tonics have to be the most useless part in the game – tied with Trahearne.
If it is account bound then it can’t go on the market anyway, if I do have a mithril tool with 15 uses left on it but I am done on that area and now need higher tier tools why shouldn’t I be allowed to pass it on to an alt and save myself a couple of copper?
I can understand something like an orders armor being soul bound to prevent a character without that order equipping it but when it comes to junk items you get from storyline or karma items after you get a superior piece sometimes moments later or even the soul bound tools, I just don’t see the point. I get that truly unique items are soul bound to show you did that place but I am the same player, it is my character, why not let me pass it on? I don’t get anything special or extra from it so instead of using weapons/armor in the forge as junk why not make these items plus tools account bound, I will still use them.
Maybe this comes from not liking to throw anything away but I still fail to see how soul bound items affect economy if they turned account bound.
It is not a bug though Saber, just an ambiguous tool, you are better leaving it in a suggestion thread for the tool to state its rarity equivalent.
Just wondering can Devs only see this? Is there any point to +1 any post on the forums yet?
Care to expand on how it keeps the economy going?

As it was in the old test…. i mean guild wars 1 so it should be now :P
Yes whips are already in the game as pick-up weapons for some hearts and the nightmare court are known to use them, I would hope that Anet would hold off and implement in the future and not straight away just to satisfy our whims. Let them spend a few months developing it and bring it out with an expansion. Notable examples of whips in other games, (yes they are difficult to animate but not entirely difficult with thought put in), Castlevania or Onimusha 3, both games almost centred around the use of the whip as its central weapon so it is completely plausible to be included somewhere in the future, fingers crossed.
+1 for this thread.
Hey all,
As you may be aware, we cannot approve or review or “vet” any third-party program. Our general statement is that anything that gives advantage is forbidden. There are many utilities that help the player without taking a hit on others, without, for instance, being a detriment to the other players in a match. I’ve heard about certain programs that help disabled players too, and those seem just fine.
In cases like this, I would go so far as to say as long as the profile that binds controller buttons to keyboard/mouse commands is binding one button to one keypress/activation, you are not in danger of incurring a ban. For example: if you press one button on your controller and it executes one weapon skill, it’s okay; if you press one button on your controller and it activates a chain of skills, that’s where you run into forbidden territory.
I hope this helps clear things up for you all.
Does that include where someone would bind both the jump and dodge button together to do a flip-dodge? Saw a PUG doing it during a dungeon instance.
I have to ask, what is the point of A-bound vs. S-bound?
They recently updated some recipes and dungeon tokens to account bound, which makes sense as I might get through AC easy as a ranger but struggle with my elementalist. As items are account bound I already can’t sell them to other players so why not make all soul bound items as account bound? Only I can use them and I am putting in the work to buy/craft items so why not just make them account bound? I also wonder what the point of the trainers are as they all sell you the same book in the end and it doesn’t give you a profession specific advancement in any way.
What are other players views or even Devs thoughts on this matter?
Isn’t it obvious why? Warriors like to over-compensate
If you are not willing to put in a grind for an item that is legendary then don’t, play up to the point you are satisfied. If you want it badly enough then you will grind for it, look at any other game on the market, they all have their grinds. Stop being in a rush.
In AC Adelbern mistakes Rytlock, a living charr, for his own son; at the very least this would imply that Adelbern has some sense of self and can distinguish that not all beings are either charr or traitors. If Solothin had been given to a human to take the role of the prince maybe the curse could have been lifted, undone by the same person who cast it. It certainly would have made for more interesting writing in my opinion.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. He mistakes a living entity wielding Sohothin and mistakes him for Rurik showing that he does not who is around him really which mean he cannot distinguish. He already knows that his son is not coming home but in death still thinks he will. The official lore has rumored that a descendant of Doric (Queen Jennah) will quell the ghosts if wielding Sohothin, nothing else.
I play dungeons, I get mykitten kicked, I love it! Why? Well, on occasions I struggle to get to the end and other days I fly through with minimal death. The challenge is wonderful and it is not down to a lack of trinity, any failings come with a bad team. Dungeons are about the shortcomings of everyone and working together. As stated above different classes have different heals, AoE, buffs, conditions, etc. There is also combo kills in there too; casual or not, if you can play the game well and are lucky enough to have a good team then dungeons cause minimal suffering. It is all practice and GW2 does not hold your hand in the tutorial quest nor does it hold your hand the rest of the game. You played this game because it promised to be different, you hate this game because it is.
You got cookies?
Spent the last hour searching the wiki for you mate but not all armor sets have been uploaded yet. I can tell you that I only saw that 1st armor set on a player just last week and then the 2nd armor worn on a char at some point so they are in the game somewhere but I just don’t know their names myself.
Low level tailor masks have this style, more batman-esque i thought but very zorro-ish too.
What profession are you looking to try this on btw?
I will attest to the difficulty of the storylines needing to be adjusted for solo level but the dungeon difficulties are just right in my opinion. Perfect for testing teamwork and your own skills, they really are about learning to play your class and sometimes that is nice
I died about 3-4 times on that one before just grabbing a party for all those destroyers, The manor dungeon though I think so far we have only wiped once through the story version of it. When you consider that, it is obvious a solo story should be a little bit easier.
the claws are raised so the don’t get all caught in the grates they walk across in the Black Citadel. They can use their claws for offense when needed, a velociraptors toes were always up and they did just fine, couldn’t outrun a meteor now but aside from that…
They are Charr, case closed.
Also due to the profanity filter I can’t tell if people mean baby cats here or if everyone is just incredibly vulgar XD
I didn’t really find Troll’s End to be much of an issue on my max size Charr. In fact, I was a bit disappointed by it with how much someone in map chat was hyping it up with how terrible it was for Charr, and then it didn’t take any more attempts than any other jumping puzzle I’ve done.
It takes you 37 tries for every puzzle then?
If you wonder why they have not kickedkitten you should try putting a charr vs. a human or other race in pvp, aim for 1v1 if you can.
Perhaps new lines for every personality is a bit much especially if you wanted to branch it but having the same VA run through different personalities of a voice is more plausible. I was quite sad to hear my charming human ranger had the exact same voice as some engineer I helped with his personal story. In the original I understand that there was a lack of voicing options as your only choice was male or female really and if you think about it, it has been the better part of 10 years (almost) when you think of how long ago the original VA was done. I feel let down that the method didnt change in the past 7-10 years.
Personally i don’t know yet but surely there must be a use for all this butter right?
For the love of all that is good in the land, plz shut up vendors!

Seems obvious idle quotes need to be lowered in frequency, greeting quotes need to be heard just by the player who clicked the npc and for crafting to either have a mute background option or a music score to cover city sounds.
Charr should have been the main enemy. Undead are boring and repetitive.

The Charr race advanced over the years, the humans were reasonable enough for the most part.

Humans got magic, tried to take over the whole world (savage animals) and destroy everything else, its been thousands of years and they are still clinging to the same gods.
Just needed to be said.

Land was the Charrs?
That’s a bit flimsy. It just goes back to ‘finders keepers’, goes to ‘who had it first’, rather than ‘who deserves it’.
Fact is, Ascalon was a peaceful and civilized nation, and charr were a bunch of rabid, stupid dogs. All they had was brute strength.
Their claim to the land is no stronger, than that of a bears, to America.
If it so happens that millions of bears suddenly destroy America, it doesn’t make them right.
Land was the Charrs, says so in the official lore. As for who deserved it, you mean who fought harder for it? Let us go with that logic for the moment, yes the humans took over Ascalon…. but then they were defeated and Charr retook the city (with heavy costs) so by your logic the Charr deserve it.
Indians not bears. When Europeans came to America they fought Native Americans which were labelled Indians (a history book will explain why) so that final statement of yours is wrong. If you had said devourers now I would get it as they are the animals that inhabit the land before humans came along, that would make logical sense for your bear comment as Europeans didn’t fight bears when they came over so of course they would not hold land claim.
Although you might want to fight Charr as the main enemy it does not work for the lore of GW2 as much as you like, as it is explained you could fight the flame legion for your giggles but don’t expect them to change their lore for you, “their lore”.
I am not sure if you are aware of Whispers of Acoma but…. We’re kind of a big deal, we have many leather-bound books and our guild forums smell of rich mahogany. Ok, maybe that last bit is down to your imagination but either way, WoA is for you.
We have active members, a mature and friendly attitude, run events/dungeons daily and understand that sometimes people don’t play a game 24/7 so we have no restrictions on our members, we just ask that you are as friendly and helpful as we are. You can check the rules on our forums, the link is provided in my sig.
If you think WoA sounds interesting well then you would be right just check out our TS some evening, send me a PM here or in game. I tend to play when I can and like the rest of our members, I am always on hand to help out when you need it.
Your answer is covered here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/What-this-sub-forum-is-for/first#post18661
Doesn’t look like a small detail from here XD
Secondly, I noticed that the available human male face types tended to fall into two categories, tough guy and manchild. It took some finagling with the facial sliders to get even close to the dashing look that I had in mind.
Nice!
I agree, their lack of choice when it comes to character creation is lacking but you also have to wonder have we been spoiled by Bethesda
Considering the prices people paid to get DD or CE the fact that the mistfire is NOT usable underwater just adds to its patheticness. From my human ranger all I can use underwater is rampage as one, which is fine as it’s my elite of choice but I would like to be able to use other elites underwater if the need arises.
If you’re doing it differently, you’re doing it wrong
(Or are British)
You are SO right, the British are totally wrong on the language they speak natively and then transferred to America.
(you know you speak english right? that originated in britain)
I always find hairstyles in any game to be lacking, I always have to choose which I hate the least most of the time.
I don’t know why I feel closer to humans than other races either….
looks in mirror
Oh!! That’s why.
I’ll have the Trahearne special.
