So path 1 of Cof, run goes smooth and we get to the boss and I am experiencing no lag or anything that I might construe as uh-oh. A mere 20-30 seconds left on the boss’ health and out of nowhere my machine resets. A little frustrated when I return because everyone in the party has said their goodbyes and left and I am standing outside CoF with no loot/tokens and the path closed. I jump straight back in to CoF path 1 and the run goes just as smooth as the run before. We make it to the boss and once more, 20-30 seconds before the boss drops my machine resets! Log back in and once again everyone has said bye and left and me with no tokens or loot once more.
Is anyone else experiencing this glitch at all? For knowledge, I have been playing for several hours every other day, no crashes before and I can run both GW2 and Skyrim set to high so I do not believe it is my machine.
It’d be awfully nice if at the least we could get a fusion weapon ticket from doing this event. You know, give people who actually enjoy the story a nice reward instead of sticking them in those stupid Black Lion boxes?
I like this idea, for Living Story content which is apparently temporary (not sure for how long content will stick around) a guaranteed ONE ticket per ACCOUNT would be a very nice way to reward players who put the time in. if we want more than 1 weapon then yes BLC is a good way as long as players are rewarded first. As the user above me posts, we don’t need xp/karma.
Achievement points and titles are awarded to the account.
That was a very important plot device the way I see it, come a few months time and we will see Rox and the that pet form a bond like Eir/Garm. It was nice to see how it begins and as for the cuteness I agree. It’s the eyes, those huge black soulless cute eyes.
And this is where I will spend my life….
I can’t help but feel like it’s a strange idea to spend development time on temporary content.
Kind of like how the Southsun Cove is now. It’s fallen into obscurity, but newer players who wern’t around for the event have the oppourtunity to discover the area and explore it.
There are still so many areas of this game that can be filled out. Why spend time on this when you can make more permanent additions to your game and use them as selling points? Just from past updates, I get the impression that the dev team is spread thin enough as it is without tacking on tasks that only have a temporary impact. Spend those resources elsewhere like patch QA, bugfixing, mini games, new zones, polishing the personal story, balancing skills and traits, etc. I think that would be appreciated more than what were getting with the living story now.
Well I would have highlighted “bug-fixing” as with every patch I expect bugs, no game is perfect but with GW2 you can expect to wait a month, or more, before those bugs are fixed. As for new zones? That sort of goes against what you are asking for here as you do mention filling in the current zones first and I’m all for the latter.
I love the idea of the ever-changing story and I get your fears about it, both plausible and agreeable but I also want to see how far it goes, will it perform well,? Only time can tell. We do have to remember the game is just 7 months old.
Ultimate answer incoming!
How about we turn those very spammy NPCs into a useful NPC that shows us which paths we have done on the character we are on at the time? I say this because if I hear “We have cleared the entrance to the Citadel Of Flame” one more time I think I will scream.
Remember that Halloween and Wintersday was removed along with your chance for the achievements, they might be attainable next year but we won’t know till then. My advice is do the content now, you don’t need your guild for the 30-60 minutes of work for this whole event.
Play for the content? First release was 15 mins of fixing signs…. this was soooo amazing I want to go do this for a living. Next release offered 2 hide and seek items with no story either. Karka event provided a ton of lore but the content was handled so shoddily that it was a fail, there has been more information provided about the living story on the forums than in the game which kinda debunks play for fun. They should spend the time on loot balance rather than free loot for turning up. One time event rewards should not be profitable items which upheave the game economy.
They need to provide dungeons and jumping puzzles with better loot.
Personally both Halloween and Wintersday were the best events by far due to the content releasing on a good schedule but aside from that releasing content that was large enough to keep you going for the few days, not weeks, and even if you missed it the content stayed for weeks so you could revisit when you were ready to play.
With Lost Shores they learned to bug test correctly, we can hope :P Nothing more needs to be said on this disaster of an event.
With Living Story… well the prelude lasted all of 15 minutes to max the Volunteer title and honestly I have had longer bowel movements…. that were more enjoyable. A month of waiting for updates revealed 15 minutes of gameplay… bad pacing, was much more interested in all the updates anyway so the update was not too bad. The next part has come just as slow; find two barely visible items in the dirt and snow and kill some dredge and legion, two weeks later 2 more random items show up and then the last two a week after that. Bad pacing especially since these appeared with little-to-no notice, I mean who actually checks these heralds? Their star is always yellow so there is no way to tell if the information is new or not. Will be interesting to see this next chapter.
So my hope is that they continue with GW1-esque events, 1 update provides 90% of the content for several weeks for people to enjoy at their leisure while the last 10% is released over a weekend with several intervals so all may enjoy but more importantly the items received are purely for the player and non-tradable and non-profitable.
Today I ended up against the same guild team of mes/thief 3 times in a row of me joining solo into tpvp, absolutely ridiculous. Tired of these perma-invis thieves, it is a pain in the hole and while I didn’t personally mind dying against the mesmer (superior ability) it kitten me off no end to fight against the thief who, as far as I could tell, only came out of invisibility after I was dead, I would never see him unless he was far away and even then he could stealth, somehow kill me and then get back across the map to cap points. There is no skill involved with that, they need to deal the nerfs to thief and buffs to the engi, not the other way around.
What happens for someone who owns max bank slots and has 8+ characters? It makes sense to add another tab since nobody wants to root their bank or alts to find that 1 item. My bank is a wee bit messy and trying to look for things can be a pain at times and it is frustrating to see those precious spaces being occupied by town clothes, can you imagine if they didnt have the miniature tab? Nobody would buy minis.
As the title says – Since we have a tab for many collectibles as it is I would love to see one for clothes bought in the Gem Store or from holidays. sPvP shows that an armor collection is possible so they just need to add one more to PvE, where else can I put my old town clothes when I buy a new costume? Where can I put my brand new Riding gear? What about my Wintersday outfit or my Mad King ensemble? Where will these go? We all realise the importance of bank space, especially for players with many characters. I do not want to toss my GW2 Celebration hat because I am out of room, nor my lovely Devil Horns, I want to keep them but I just bought the Pirate set…
Players like to fill those spaces, when they look at their collections and see they have some costumes and some empty slots there is incentive to buy gems to fill those slots, there is incentive there to spend money. For any player that is a hoarder you can feel my pain when I have to destroy an item for space, even if it is a duplicate.
Sidenote:- any chance of fixing the arcane converter in sPvP to deposit into collectibles also?
I am not sure people waste their time doing that for a match they intend to come back into as they would be letting their team down (tourney will throw you straight back into the match when you reconnect) and chances are they would still lose due to not letting you have 5 points but your team gaining a number advantage and probably winning the game.
I’ll be honest, if I am waiting on a tourney and the message pops up on my screen I will wait till I kill my foe or die myself, if I am downed I sometimes click “Go Now” so the enemy doesn’t get the kill, yes it’s mean I know and I understand your frustration but that might be the reason people are leaving also.
That being said, I am a dungeon designer. I don’t do the actual class balance work – I just go to the meetings and make proposals for the folks who actually build this stuff. At the very least I can echo things being said, draft proposals based on feedback from threads like these, and try to convince folks about how much of a priority issues like these should be.
Glad you took the time out to comment Robert. Based on what you say here I have to ask how come this has fallen to you? Why are the people responsible for balancing pets not here, reading, responding and taking things on board? It is unfair on you but very welcome by every player that someone has taken the time. I just feel that it is always you Rob. (time to ask for that raise)
As for the thread, I will just offer an idea based off what I read above; rangers have to press two dodge buttons for both them and then their pet with the latter usually failing on tougher opponents and yes no matter how skilled the player is sometimes you just cannot stop their death. I personally don’t bother calling a pet back unless I know it will have time to react and get out of AoE, very rarely it does. I love the idea of a blink/distortion/aegis effect that was brought up so my suggestion would be that when a ranger dodges it automatically applies aegis or a blink effect to the pet so a ranger really only has to worry about the time of his/her dodge.
The least they could have done is give Story Mode a one-time reward of say 100 or so tokens when it is completed, that way some of the exp mode grind is reduced and players cannot exploit it.
This seems like a good idea as there is ZERO incentive to do the story mode, if nobody has explorable open then I switch to a character that has done all story modes, at the end I get the tokens so it does not matter too much. I’ll do anything to pretty much avoid story mode in dungeons, I do not want to sit in AC for 1-2 hours helping newbies for their first time in a dungeon trying to explain every dungeon mechanic to them along the way and at the end all I get is a hat 55 levels lower than me. ZERO incentive. I mean I am a helpful player but even a guildie would have to convince me to go back in to story mode with them. Arah story I believe is the easiest also, you could sleep during it and still finish it, every other story mode is painful to play, but then again Arah is part of the Personal Story and there is no redeeming factor about that, ugh.
We had them in story before launch, but what we found is that we couldn’t strike a balance between the amount we give for completing story mode, and the difficult difference. Our feedback was that rather than face the challenge of Explorable dungeons, high skill groups would just afk faceroll the much easier story mode content for the guaranteed smaller token amount. We tried several things, but couldn’t strike the balance, so we removed tokens from story mode as a reward and put them into explorable mode only as a reward.
Can I just say that there is not a single story mode in this game that I would repeat, they are more difficult and far longer than any exp in the dungeons. Even with paths as short as 15 mins I do not bother repeating them in a day other than my 60 tokens. I doubt anyone would bother facerolling story modes :/ There may be an uneven balance but I think it is the other way around rob.
The fact is if they are not representing you are getting no influence at all, maybe they are a part of 5 guilds, which means, at every point in time they are not contributing to 4 others, which is ridiculous IMO. I believe the influence goes to the home world no matter where you are guesting. So all you need to do really is recruit players on your home server or make it mandatory. Guesting, as limited as it is, allows you to play on servers with your friends to help them in PvE, that means if you wanted your members for dungeons/WvW then you just ask them to come back. All it takes is a flick of a button to stop guesting. Of course, they might be busy and say no; so that is some of the reasons it is not important to know whether or not people are guesting. You can either make it mandatory to be on the home world to gain your influence or stop caring as it really does not matter.
I believe I saw one called [Dick]
my name is dick and i find you offensive.
but seriously, people are actually named dick.
Well if you are my Dick then I am your Bruce. (a +1 if you get the reference) I don’t find it that offensive myself but the things that get blocked by this word filter is ridiculous. I bet there is a guild called kitten out there too, I guess that one would be in the filter.
Where do you people get these ideas…Honestly ? Do you not feel op enough as a thief already ? Want to have a Godmode enabled aswell for 1m ? Maybe ask them to give you a rocketlauncher while your at it.
Charrzooka?
Great idea;
“Stealth (duration – 1 minute) – if any action or movement is taken by you while under stealth, you are killed.”
I agree, I have brought this up before about the lack of report features. You cannot report offensive pet names, offensive guild names – I believe I saw one called [Dick] once, players who spam choir bells or the multitude of trolls. Trolls get away with so much because a lot of the time they are not offensive but annoying so you cannot report them for spamming, scamming, botting, etc.
Multiple threads/posts on this have been created but still no feedback, I really hope they do start planning this. Personally I don’t find keeping a pet in an invisible bag that much of a hassle but what I do mind is being 1 inventory slot less to hold loot.
Does it not say the bot account name (not character name) in the top-right corner of the report box as you report? And yes adding to block list is a good solution for now also.
Sweet! The little refugees have been eaten. I am sure they are looking into something like this.
Well after trying it the “correct” way I can say this gets shifted into the annoyingly frustrating category, a single fall now instead of taking a few steps back and trying again it requires you to go the full way around each time and with its cramped nature this just makes it worthless; before I liked to do TE every once in a while as it was not too bad but now I don’t think I’ll ever bother with it again. Great ninja update :/ If they are worried about people farming puzzles then they should just set JP chests to open weekly, very simple.
I always assumed this was the correct way to do the jumping puzzle XD now I have to go find this bloody shaft. I hate ninja fixes, it would not be so bad if they just told people that the puzzle was not being completed as intended >:( grr.
Oh yeah lol, my bad. So WvW then? How about in PvE if you level your charr past 30 but never do the storyline, how can the coding guess what you want? As it is, your legion is decided upon creation which codes which kind of warband follows you. I was disappointed when I first got the skill and I too was expecting my storyline warband to show up but now I realise that coding for that would be a nightmare.
Was mapping LA with an alt and went to do this puzzle as I normally would and found that I could no longer get to the first jump, an invisible wall was blocking it. Has anyone else encountered this yet? Was it another screwy by-product of the maintenance? Will it never be fixed just like Harathi cabbage patch?
Hope some dev can answer this.
I would like this too but as said above it would be the coding. What of PvP players who create a charr but never go into PvE with it? How can the elite skill guess what path you will take in the storyline? I believe warband is just meant to show which legion you come from.
For what reason?
Lifetime survivor, master of of overkill, gold hoarder are the 3 I would love to just be fixed asap.
I have most of the slayer achievements maxed but only some of them were affected by the bug. Slayer and weapon kills really are trivial and you will get these without trying, might be back to all full by this evening or tomorrow depending on how many characters or areas that you play but the initial 3 are not easily obtainable and do need a fix. Pumpkin carver has been broke since the 28th and still no fix.
You of course realise there is a bouquet of roses in the gem store at which you can throw petals and flowers at people?
I don’t know why you think there is a POI at that point in your screenie…. here is a link to the wiki map, it should be your first port of call always.

Invisible bags are used very often by many characters for several reasons, not just minis. Have you ever bought a mini-pack or tried to use them in the forge? You get a lot of multiples, a lot! I am glad they stack otherwise they would not be able to go to the collection tab which means they would be taking precious bank space. Count your lucky stars, the double-click feature on them used to deposit them instead of using them but that was fixed. The reason most players won’t carry minis is because they value that single slot of invo space far more than a mini.
I’m sorry but could you rephrase that not in the form of a rant? I mean, “come on!”
Good suggestion, I see no reason to remove hairstyles or faces from creation, hopefully they will implement a lot more choice in the future.
If you are in WvW just press F12 to go to character select, log back in to your character and you will be back where you joined WvW from. This is used very often in dungeon running when your bags are full, you hit the button for WvW, sell yourself at one of the vendors there, log out, log in and you are back outside the dungeon and just need to walk back in to it.
If you can post a topic mate, you can search the forums like the player above who got your link for you.
When ya’ll did this “tweaking” ya’ll broke dragon DR.
The issue with the dragon chests should only effect people who park characters at dragons and don’t play them anywhere else. Is this what you are doing?
Why the ninja update? Was there an exploit? Were bots farming it via well-placed alts? There was no need for it, as stated above the loot you receive from dragons is not worth the waypoint cost. Unless you intend to make dragons drop precursors or something else worthwhile this is a very unwelcome adjustment and I see no merit in it. As for alt-placing itself, I did this on the dragons for the first week and then realised that the loot was not even worth a character switch.
Solution for players: leave alt parked there, once dragon is en route, switch to another alt in another area and warp to the dragon to get the chest. Seems whoever planned the update just wasted time on nerfing loot when they could have been fixing bugs in the game.

You post is not even 6 hours long, at least give them time to get into the office and read it. Also bumping does not help your case.
I can confirm this happening, it is the east corner by the door in Hodgins protect room. If the mound is destroyed with players standing on it they will be warped into the area of Dethas path with the graveling/chains.
All i can suggest is to not stand on graveling mounds, just melee it from the front, no need to stand on it anyway.
[snip]
You don’t enjoy dungeons, that is your preference. I don’t personally like PvP and I may or may not get the PvP monthly so does that mean it is poorly implemented? does that mean I deserve the achievement points since I did not do it?
Dungeons/fractals have only counted for the last 2/3 months but you never finished a monthly because of dungeons? Did you do WvW, did you salvage? I did not like doing WvW but I did it for the achievements. You also get laurels for dailies so you do not even have to finish the monthly.
You are not forced to craft, you are not forced to do a daily. Have you even “tried” to do the daily crafter? You refine 10 logs/ore and you are done. It is 3-4 mouse-clicks and is about 30 seconds of your time. You don’t have to craft any more than that nor do you need to go out of your way. Hardly taxing!
If a L80 needs to go to a 1-15 area just to kill a vet then they are wasting their own time, I kill plenty of vets by “just playing” and the only time I have to go out of the way is when I have been busy in RL all day. With 30-60 mins left to finish my daily I will go to an area where I know there is several vets so I may get my daily fast. Daily can be finished so easily that you could stretch it out over the day if you have time or spend 15 mins to focus and just do it. If you cannot make time for it then you do not deserve the coins/karma/laurel. Also, players entering lower zones to get dailies means that players are spreading out in the world, they can help people who are struggling there too. What if you can’t kill that champ in the way for that chest, you see 3-4 L80s pass so ask them for help, is that a bad thing?
Now as for laurels from PvP, I agree and do not agree. Sure you want to earn laurels from playing in your area but how will laurels actually affect you in PvP? You can’t use gear from PvE(boxes of gear), you can’t wear the ascended items, to get dye to use you need to play PvE anyway as it does not drop in PvP, what will you use with obbys? Is there anything from the laurel vendor that you can even use in PvP, no, you just want them because everyone else is getting them.
They are painless and do not take long as I have said above and so have you. You don’t want to do repetitive things yet are willing to kill 10 more vets to avoid crafting for 30 seconds? If that was the case I would refine 100 wood logs, be done with my daily but have I really achieved anything?
I do not necessarily enjoy Fractals but I do it, why, because I want something from there. I chose not to play fractals for the initial release due to the crashes, I have missed out on loot and levels but I chose to not play it and I don’t think I deserve it either, why would I, I didn’t play the content.
Finally dailies/monthlies will be evolved in future months as Anet have stated even from the first mention of laurels.

Where in lore states that cultural armor should be restricted?
I don’t see a red name by you. :>
Where in lore states it shouldn’t?
Oh, that’s right – Cultural gear, by name, is suppose to be unique to those of its culture.
That’s how ANet designed it. :P
—
Another thing.
Where does it say it needs to be in the lore to be a rule?
There’s nothing in lore about Legendary weapons needing tons of items to craft it, but they still require it.You’re just arguing points you don’t even fully understand, and refusing the recognize the actual parameters of the concepts here.
Cultural Weapons are unique to the culture, and everyone can use them.
Perhaps they are making them to be usable by all, but don’t have the models ready for it yet?
Perhaps nothing, “you are just arguing points you don’t even fully understand”, if you want cultural armor of another race then level up a character of that race, stop being lazy. Weapons keep the same looks and do not need to be coded specifically for each race to equip, if they did we would not have skins due to the work involved in creating 5 separate AC staves just for each race. Cultural armor needs to be created from scratch for each race, if it was going to be available it would have been done. Raise whatever response you like, you don’t understand why things should be unique. Try a new char, try a new class, you might enjoy it.
They don’t contribute to what exactly?
Elite dungeons you mean such as FoW/UW still had the same party size as everywhere else and these were the end-game. If you mean Urgoz/Deep where you had a party of 12 well all I can say is how many people were playing it often after 6 months of its release? They became dead areas due to the hassle of finding full teams for it, even guilds had trouble keeping players interested in doing it.
Wow, omg, too many idiotic ideas here to continually quote. Let’s start with RiKShaw.8795 and Doomguard.5094….. You guys make perfect sense and are exactly right. Radio Isotope.3045 Please, please, please look at everything you said, turn it around and take your own advice, you make my face hurt.
So “dailies” or rather their full name “Daily Achievement” are a set list of things that you “can” achieve to be “rewarded” with coin, karma and laurels. If you have a job, a family and whatever else in your life that prevents you from playing that you cannot get your daily well then that is your tough luck, you do not get rewarded for owning the game, you want to achieve your daily then you play for it. Anybody with common sense knows that if you cannot log on then you cannot gain rewards and shame on anyone that thinks they should. If you cannot log on every day you can still aim for the monthly, from my experience this can usually be done in about 10 days (at least 28 days in every month) so there is no excuse for not achieving it, that is to say if you actually log on.
CaptainBennett.8157TL;DR: What you put into the game should determine what you get out of it, and you should not demand the developers to lower their standards to fit your specific time-related needs.
Thank you Bennett.
Everyone should be able to use everyones armor! The armors are restrictive enough already.
I’ll tell you what is restrictive, a Charr trying to fit in to an Asurans cultural armor. My freaking toes will rip the head off it before I can bring it up to my knee. If you want a Charr in leaves get the TA armor, if you want Norn in Asuran, go for CoE. Cultural armor is fine where it is so leaf it! (pun-tended)
