Nah… it’s fine as it is, the only problem is subsequent failures because some people chill out too much during the meta and don’t take it a bit more seriously.
It’s disheartening that the last 2nd gen legendary weapon will be a shortbow. I wish I could main this weapon but it’s so rarely used…
Both are very beautiful legendaries! I’d go for Kudzu through the collections if you want to experience quests along the way, and I find it more expensive but more fun to do.
Healing Power could be re-purposed to work like a “healing critical chance”.
That might be better than using Precision actually.
What they have to do is increase a bit the scaling on some specific skills, or use HP to slightly increase the healing but the full benefit would be the critical healing chance.
Not to mention it opens up for more support-ish traits, for example, curing a condition whenever you critically heal, or critically healing splashes heals around yourself, or place a buff that revives you from downed (think elementalist’s Fire-attuned Glyph of Renewal), or place 3 seconds of protection… all of these obviously with their internal cooldowns. Secondary effects would give support-oriented builds to play a stronger role and be desirable by players, but I have this feeling that ArenaNet is too locked on to max DPS race and they can’t solve this design issue.
Healing Power could be re-purposed to work like a “healing critical chance”.
Great guild! The guys invited me and arranged us slots in a weekend core. All guildies are very friendly, non-elitists, and very competent (ran into a few The Eternal’s there). I recommend this guild!
Most of the times it all comes down to tastes, and I’m not going to be judgmental. I’ll just say they just don’t know how to balance the flow of content. Not sure if they ever will.
Hello, I’m currently looking for a midcore raiding group to run raids on saturday and sunday, EST time. Since I’m struggling to find a static, regular raiding group given these criteria I thought about posting them here.
I’ve done VG, and almost killed Gorseval. I’m condi engineer who’s done green circle duty, and Gorseval’s breakbar, but also got tempest DPS and herald DPS. My bf also wants to take part in a group, he’s a herald DPS.
If any groups out there are available given the day/time schedule just PM us. We’re seasoned, non-elitist players who learn rather fast.
I’d like to see a “special effects” slot for things like Winter’s Presence, the Refractors, Preserved Queen Bee, and Nightfury. Currently, they’re a weird mix of invisible shoulder armor and jewels.
If they ever get around to adding 500 Jewelrymaking, I’d like to see it work in this space.
You sir are absolutely correct. There’s a confusion of item-slotting vs. displayable effects, they must have a concise choice. IMO they should concentrate effect slots in jewelry (ascended-only?) as they’re easier to acquire. The effect “orbs” or “jewels” could be hard to get, and could range from a faint body glow to Forsaken Thicket ghostly aura for example. I very much approve a rework in this sense. It would be superb. We know there would be those who would stack a lot of effects, but hey, we can’t blame them for not having creativity! \o
Hey, got some questions:
1) Do you still require 100% rep?
2) Do you require a server transfer? What about doing WvW runs?
3) Do you take raid grouping serious?
4) Do you have weekend raiding times?

What I would mostly love to see is a cool quest to tackle the coming of elite specs… they could explore this as a collection, but yeah, explain things, have some showcases of magic. The game has so much magic but the way it’s conveyed is so… meh.
Hi.
I have never player GW1 and I would like to discover a whole lore, so – are there any good and legit sites/videos describing it? Also I would like to discover raids lore in HoT too – I played it and read some notes etc but a compressed guide would be much better.
I’d recommend watching WP’s lore series. I’m pretty sure Deroir also has a series on lore, but it’s more about the mysteries of the game. For that matter, I’d also recommend watching WP’s mysteries series, once you know more about the lore.
I’ve not seen much of Deroir’s (I watched some of two, but the second one started out with such HUGE lore fact twisting that I facepalmed and closed), but for WP I would say to take everything with a grain of salt.
WP’s research for his videos are incomplete at best, speculation being presented as fact at worse. They’re decent for a brief overview, but it’s hardly something to take as truth in of itself.
@Konig, why would they ban you? lol
Long story short:
An on-again-off-again user kept adding incorrect details and speculations onto GW2W, claiming them as supported fact; I tried to keep the wiki as fact based as possible. Revert wars ensued. I stated I was leaving (meaning temporarily) out of frustration of said user. Admins temp ban me. Rinse repeat a few times over two years. A couple times this spread onto GWW, when I was trying to improve those articles to pass the time (I had a lot more free time then).
During the last temp ban, I got so fed up with the admins’ continuous tactics of ‘lock the door after he leaves, that will show him!’ for their bans (literally every ban came the day after I got frustrated to the point of taking a break). So, fed up as I was, I made a rant about it on my GWW talk page. This resulted, due to ‘disturbing the peace’ as an excuse, in a perma ban on GWW.
Because a rant on my personal talk page is disturbing the peace. Because banning someone who’s not active is really teaching them a lesson.
I don’t mind those folks who were admining the wikis then (I dunno if the one behind the perma ban even remains active, but the others are at least active editors), but honestly their policy enforcement is – or at least was- plain stupid.
Humorously, ever since, that user has not edited the wiki as far as I know – and that final campaign also got him banned (think it was a 6 month temporary like I got, too).
Rant over. Wasn’t very short… but wasn’t the long version either.
I admire your work on GW2W because you did take your time to write the articles fully fact-based, close to you the other admin I really like is Tithus The Third (he even brought some timeline anomalies for Angel McCoy to fix). I think lore editors should have a white hat because story-telling is such a difficult stuff to get together, and frankly not everyone is willing to put things together. :/
Two things I believe it’s wrong for Amalgamated Gemstones: three groups of x3 orbs (it should be two orbs), and the transmogrifying from crystals being too costly (5x Incandescent Dust). Fixing these things wouldn’t require increasing orbs’ acquisition. If they don’t change these, they certainly should add more ways to obtain orbs to the game…
If they bring more polished raids, and work A LOT MORE in STORY, I will definitely consider buying a deluxe edition.
I know it may sound common knowledge or even silly, but I had this bug happen when I used x86 system. So keep an eye for that, you might want to upgrade to an x64 OS as soon as possible.
Wow, really? That’s good news! Do you have a link where they said that? Seems like I’ve missed it…
Sure: link
It’s undeniable the acquisition is pathetic by now.
After seeing how drastic The Dreamer changes were, I couldn’t expect less than an aura+projectile change. While they’re at it, they could fix Kraitkin strong glow during the night… I know many don’t care about underwater combat, but I’m sure there’s been effort for a lot of people who worked towards the trident legendary, and it’s a shame to just ignore its former night effect. People forget there’s Gift of Kraitkin and Gift of Fortune, besides the precursor being cheap…

Devs have already acknowledged that orbs’ acquisition is way off, and they will work to fix this. If you’re not in a rush, just be patient.
You don’t need cliffhangers to get people to stay with the story.
You need a good story to keep people with the story.
And continuous cliffhangers is not a good story.
The main goal for the next season will not be to tell a story. It will be to serves as a teaser for the next expansion. There will be a cliffhanger.
Everything we know of S3 says it’ll close up some loose threads oepened by S2 and HoT. Nothing implies leading into the next expansion, especially since we don’t know what that expansioni s or will be released.
More than likely S4 will lead into the next expansion. However, that doesn’t mean it needs to end with a cliffhanger either. You can lead into sequels without a cliffhanger as well. If you think you must end a story that had a sequel with a cliffhanger, you’ll not make a good writer.
A good example would be Brentt Weeks’ Night Angel Trilogy. Every book was a conclusive story with room for sequels but no cliffhanger at the end.
I love you.
That’s a good view of things, Bobby. I’m in the middle of Prophecies campaign, and although the White Mantle seems to have done good to Kryta, they were in truth mean. They sacrificed humans, so… whatever you say, lives were taken.
I’m interested in the guild (LUCKily you don’t require 100% rep #giggles), but I have a few questions.
Me and my boyfriend both play almost every day (we’re taking a break and enjoying original Guild Wars during the week now), and so we can commit to raids during weekends (preferrably during the afternoon, EST time).
See, we’ve tried a few guilds now, and the last one the leaders and members have been very nice to us, very talkative. Problem lies in raid runs, though. We try our best to overcome our difficulties each run, and we improve, but most of the times we would run VG and fail at least 4-5 times before moving on mostly because the party comp changes too much. Last time we had like 10+ tries before downing VG. We’d love to progress a bit further into the raid but we’re struggling with varying groups, and we’d like to know if there would be any groups missing two spots (given the available play time)? I got a condi engineer who’s seen Gorsi a few times, a herald DPS, and a WIP tempest DPS. My bf got a herald DPS, but has been showing great improvements with his phalanx DPS berserker. Both full ascended.
I think the way elite specializations were introduced felt lacking. A lot. I thought they would bring a lore behind it, but most elite specs presentations were deduced and very shallow. With Mordy final arc taking place this could be an opportunity to use DE 2.0 characters for a few spec-related “quests” (namely collections), and add interesting lore.
The whole way players’ magic is explained game-wide is in fact lacking. We possess magic, and yet many aspects are taken for granted. I really hope they rework some lore to add a bit of depth in this sense.
Anyone felt the same when elite specs first came out?
I’m soon-to-be 24 (thursday). I work 44 hours a week, including saturday morning. I really love this game.
That’s so lovely. I miss these short stories. <3
@Edit
On a related note, these stories could certainly fill a lot of in-game lore gaps. I personally wouldn’t have any issues with that, specially when we have this wonderful community capable of doing these kinds of videos.
I reaaaaally miss short stories as a way to lay the background for important characters, and also give us some room to breath when all we talk about is Elder Dragons centered plot.

I don’t mind this, I just wished engineer kits would work with legendaries… footsteps disappear, and the projectiles don’t change, this is such a bummer considering the gameplay most of the times revolves around swapping kits. :|
Counting how many weeks till tempest/scrapper are broken in PvE. I will hate ArenaNet even more, but hey, it’s just adding up.
Hi.
Not sure if this is the right place to post original Guild Wars questions. My download got stuck for like 2 hours now, anyone knows what is going on? Or how to fix it?
Having an AP requirement is fairly common… but it’s also a pretty horrible way of judging someone. A person can have a high AP total and still not have a clue about how to do Fractals.
Happens way too often. People with legendaries, 19k AP and are completely clueless.
My strategy is to get a grasp of how the first fractal goes, and depending on how slow-ish/noob-ish players are I just quit and look for another group. Let’s be honest, not everyone has all day for people failing wisp running.
Maybe folks are using Timberline Falls exotic forging trick to earn golds… so no more salvaging rares?
Yesterday I had my first raid run with fuzzies, and I got to say this is one of the most friendly environments I had the opportunity to be in a long time. I’m not that talkative, but folks talk and play with each other in a heartfelt way. If you’re still deciding, fear not, this place is like family.
So, how is it gonna be? Will we get a piece of legendary armor precursor from that box? A full set? Which weight? Will it also have stat-swapping? What about skins, will they be shared like outfits? If I pick light, how will I be able to get a heavy legendary armor? If skins aren’t like oufit (one for all weights), how will I be able to eventually acquire all skins for all weights? Different collections for each weight, or each piece?
@Edit
As I’ve mentioned, “legendary armor PRECURSOR”. I know it will be ascended.

Raid is coming in less than a week.
I have yet to finish first wing.
On a related note, I think they could release LS on a monthly basis. It’s just not that difficult, given how much they created for a biweekly schedule. At least they could finally be consistent.
Lovely style, thank you so much for sharing!
PS.: ANet artists, you guys could use a few of these as inspirations! Ice-themed armor as suggested by Nike, and also an upgrade to the three-cranium staff to make it very necromancer-y!
I’d be shocked if they added new weapons in this year. Like, really shocked. Just like when they announced elite specs (yeah, I didn’t believe it would happen).
I hope all the writers read this topic!
Two things I’d like to see explained:
- Pale Tree origins: Please solve this mystery! What actually is she? Is she like Glint? What exactly is the dream? How did she become pure as she was only tended by Ventari? Is Ventari’s Tablet some sort of Forgotten relic? Expose how exactly she was freed/cleansed from the Mordremoth’s corruption. Expose how exactly Ronan got the Pale Tree seed. Anything that enlightens us about her origins. Some beings are to remain mysterious, but you writers have gone too far deep about sylvari, and that machine that exposed the Eternal Alchemy to us, show us how it is tied to the Pale Tree. Why is it of such importance to hear her (because we do)?
- Caithe’s intentions are endless: what is actually her wyld hunt? She’s changed her purpose way too often. Despite lowering her level to the ground by injecting a betrayal in her actions, I’d like to see her image recovered. Did her wyld hunt finish? Is she going to love some other sylvari? How much did the Pale Tree know about Caithe’s steps? How can a sylvari hide her thoughts from the Mother Tree if they still accept her “control”, given Caithe isn’t a Soundless after all?
I have no problem buying an expansion, but I’d like an ending to each story without cliffhangers aswell. Just end it. Start fresh with a more creative background. They can start a plot by showing memories of something we’ll use, or don’t center the whole thing around the player. I am mostly fine not to be the center of everything all the time. It gets tiring every time. Let the other characters develop side stories on their own, and we can help them, but not like “zomg you saved the world”. Put more emphasys on the OTHER characters, let them play their own role. Let them be more independent, and have us make a participation. Just a participation.
LS releases are biweekly! Or is it monthly? Or… yearly? I don’t know.
Yeah me and my bf talked to Zalyn and Kyrath. We’re all set. Thank you!
Got one after reset. Working as intended. Or at least that’s what is known.
Only the ore synthezizer gives crystals.
Yep. Mined them for 2 weeks to no result, I can mine the node twice, and I can mine two nodes (2 GH). They definitely decreased the rate you get the crystals.
Interesting. I have a small guild to assist players from my country which I’m the leader, so I couldn’t commit to 100% rep. Is it fine to represent only during raids and GMs? I also leave the guild chat enabled so I can interact with guildies, it’s just that I can’t fully represent, and I’d like to know if it’s OK.
PS.: I know it’s stated in the OP, just would like to explain my situation and ask if it’s OK. ^^
