That’s not evidence that those players are bad. That’s evidence that they were complaining about a class that they think is OP.

There’s no logical connection between those thoughts and those players’ being bad.

You are the type of person that would say…

“Well they are not bad at math, they just have trouble adding fractions.” Yeah…

There is a connection between complaining about something that is in no way remotely over powered or even good and how bad the player is at the game. Stop trying to sugar coat kitten and maybe you won’t end up with diabetes.

ITT: bad players defend easy mode specs while calling other classes they don’t play OP.

Hence the Warrior complaint threads.

Or, perhaps, that is the cause of a self-perpetuating belief among the members of the warrior community which would state that the class does not need nerfs because all of the people who complain about the class are bad players, while all the players that support the class are the good players. If this was in fact the case, then the same argument could be made about all classes, and as a result the gMe would never be balanced, simply because the “bad” players are ignored whereas the “good” players are always being paid attention to.

The real problem, however, is being able to prove that all of the players that are complaining are “bad”. Furthermore, that breeds other problems: how do you define “bad”? Why should “bad” players be disregarded? Why should players that are happy with their respective classes be considered “good”?

This is the general state of the spvp community in guild wars 2 at the moment.

Thats a heavt class compared to a lower armour class. How can you even compare that. The fact is that warriors should not get away so kitten easy. It fails every logic.

Who would have thought that a trained battle veteran could out run a scholar? Logical fail.

Thieves are supposed to be trained in agility, endurance and cunning. A warrior wears armor that weighs his own body weight and expects to be able to outrun someone in armor that barely weighs them down?

Dont even try, they are so keen on their precious war and it’s insane skills they will never admit the thing is broken.

Because stealth is fine and dandy.

I would much prefer to fight someone who has immunity (condition, damage) every 60 seconds for 8 or 4 seconds instead of a person who can vanish in thin air literally every 4 seconds.

Fact: Thieves have the best mobility

Fact: Warriors have the best land speed (Point A to Point B )

You cannot argue against those facts, because you are simply wrong.

You also need to understand that mobility and land speed are not the same thing.

Mobility:
- Shadowstep
- Dodge roll
- Stealth
- Flanking Strike (thief S/D)

These are things that cause quick and erratic movement whenever you want, wherever you want. They also hamper enemy melee severely, also causes the player to lose focus on you. Thieves do this the best.

Land speed:
- Swiftness (Or speed signet/trait where applicable)
- Leaps
- Charges
- (Insert an obvious one I probably forgot)

These are for covering distance only, either to get to a target, or run from a target. They always go in a straight line, and take time to get from Point A to Point B, which is very obviously telegraphed (Susceptible to daze/stun). Warriors do this the best.

You need to remember that mobility and land speed are completely different things.

Also, thieves complaining about another class resetting a fight? You honestly cannot be serious, because that’s just stupid.

A well timed Headshot or two (or scorpion wire), when these types of warriors use Savage Leap or Rush, will be their death, considering most warriors with this weapon set up will attempt to disengage at low health, it is easily predictable, so get your interrupts ready.

Sword/Warhorn + GS also sacrifices a lot of damage.:
- Rush misses its target 98.1337% of the time. (This skill is broken, the only use it serves is to run from fights and across the map)
- Sword Burst, does terrible damage outside of condition builds.
- GS Burst, no one uses this, EVER. It is garbage. (So the warriors class mechanic is essentially being wasted with this weapon set up)
- Savage Leap rarely hits, it might bring you near the target, dealing damage/cripple is purely luck.
- No real CC. (Only Immobilize from sword burst, and Leg Specialist (If the trait is picked))

Remember.. leaps and charges are always well telegraphed. Shadowsteps are never telegraphed. Players will always lose direct focus when fighting a thief, but never against a warrior, because warriors cannot stealth themselves, or instantly teleport, you can ALWAYS keep your eyes on them.

My lord man… using logic in a forum battle about a game… where are you from?

(Least everyone forgets about it the Thief can also stealth and gain 50% movement speed out of combat (and is currently bugged to only give 33% in combat)! He can also chain this stealth and speed as long as he doesn’t attack a target as well!)

But… but hammer feels so OP…

I’ll get even worse than I actually am if I use it(

Warrior weapons have literally been the same since the launch of the game except for the sword which had a minor switch up a few patches back along with the stun on Skull Crack getting a 1 second increase. They just recently lowered the damage on Hammer (didn’t change any skills minus the mobility aspect of 4) which effectively did nothing.

People just wanted something to yell at and Warriors are the easiest to hit since we don’t’ have perma vigor. We might have immunity to things every 60 seconds for 4-8 seconds but that doesn’t compare to being immune to everything for 1 second every 5 seconds.

And you saw how quickly the population fully gear themselves in Exotics, and ran out of end game? Anet even admitted that they underestimated how quickly people would be getting all Exotic gear. This is probably one of the reasons behind the time gates now.

That was, and still is, the stupidest thing I have ever heard for why they put in ascended gear tier. They had the gear grind in mind well before they launched the game. They chose to lie to the Guild Wars 1 player base to get a decent population to start then roll out this sorry excuse.

You would have to be pretty thick headed to believe that “reason”.

“Our whole game is end game!!!”. Fast forward 3 months after launch. “Our players are running out of end game too quickly!! Have to make a new set of gear with better stats so they have something to do!!”.

Look at the tower and what is consists of:

- A storyline which makes no sense or lead anywhere
- RNG low droprate grinding for a key which gives you a RNG chance at a RNG chance of getting rewards you want (yay 5 Infinite Toxic Krait recipes!)
- Zerging everywhere, with very little actual mechanics even in instances
- Bugs out halfway through the event, resetting everyone’s progress
- Took a ton of effort to make, looks awesome, but vanishes in a few weeks.

It embodies everything wrong with the game.

But then look at what happens: we destroy it at the final LS update of a year filled with complaints, in an amazingly artistic cutscene, and now it lies in ruins as a terrible but passed memory in the middle of one of the most beautiful zones in Tyria; the poisoned sky purified by the first rays of light after an endless night.

We can take our (character’s) children to Kessex someday and say to them ‘look at that, this place used to be in ruins because of that thing, but look at those hills now…’

Now…. is it just me or is that rather symbolic of what’s to come in 2014?

They didn’t even have it in the game and the rest of the Guild Wars 1 vets I knew quit on the spot after the first interview about it.

Only 1 of them have returned and I barely play now as well. I honestly just lurk the forums to see if they ever fix anything and/or go back to how they did things in Guild Wars 1 (skill >>facerolling). Sadly.. that day has not come and I fear it won’t.

So i don’t see much point in moving to ascended Berserker as the stats are next to NOTHING … its really strange Berserker ascended has a lower upgrade then any other ascended armor stat now because it missing out on any +crit increase.

I would wager that it is the inherent +5% damage boost just from the weapon damage…
Also, ascended two handers get +1% more critical damage than exotics.

Asura vs Charr technology

in Lore

Posted by: Vanthian.9267

Vanthian.9267

I just find it funny that some of you honestly think the Charr would even stand a chance. For all the talk about their “tanks” and their mobility you forget that they have a capital that has 0 protection from a aerial assault from stealth airship. They could easily just charge up the batteries for a laser hop on their ships fly over to the Black Citadel and goodbye Charr. Not a portion of the city, the entire city would be gone.

This is not even to mention the Asura weather controlling device. Nor the fact they could easily cause earthquakes to render their precious tanks useless because guess what; the Asura capital is in the air. They have a untold number of things over the Charr and have built far more complex and sophisticated things than they can even fathom.

Yet some of you believe they will over whelm them with iron and steel?

Anyway, no I am not a Asura fan. I actually do not enjoy them as a race because they could basically wipe Tyria clear of all living things without any opposition. And to those who say the “Mega Laser” is pack technology… it is borrowed Asura technology, much like the gates everywhere are not Tyrian technology. The Asura are kind enough to let other races use their inventions.

Asura vs Charr technology

in Lore

Posted by: Vanthian.9267

Vanthian.9267

Lasers are hard countered by mirrors. It only worked against elder dragons and minions because they do not have mirrors.

Lasers must have line of sight. Artillery shoot in an arc, from behind a mountain or trench.

Lasers don’t kill instantly. It needs to heat up. So the user must aim at one spot for at least a few seconds before it starts doing damage. So they are only useful against large stationary targets, or target moving along a trajectory like a cruise missile. Anything that can run will quickly move away from the laser or hide behind something to prevent further damage.

Laser produce heat. Charr tanks runs on steam, which needs heat. The Charr might find a way to take that energy to fuel their tanks.

Love them Charr harder.

You are confusing what we have in real life vs. what they have in this fantasy game. Any laser that is hot enough to melt and instantly vaporize metal would also melt a mirror from heat alone. So no, fancy mirror tricks would not work.

They could theoretically build something to “catch” the energy, but they just learned how to use black powder and steam in recent years. I highly doubt they are anywhere close to building something as fancy as a Thermal Battery device.

Asura vs Charr technology

in Lore

Posted by: Vanthian.9267

Vanthian.9267

Pretty simple question. It just seems that that the Charr lovers wish it was different. Laser beam technology vs. bullets. Giant mega death laser vs tank… Gee I wonder.

Not even 250 years ago the Charr barely had the concept of armor down. Now they are about on average with human technology and you want to pair them off against the Asura? The one race that has been literally studying science and advancement at the core of their racial structure for untold years…. You should know how that would turn out.

Class Balance [Killshot OP]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vanthian.9267

Vanthian.9267

Something you need to realize with this game is how they created the skills. They went kind of casual heavy. What I mean is that they have a lot of AoEs, Condition/Burst spam, and passives. Killshot is one of the few skills that I think is made pretty well. Reason being is that it has a very obvious animation call and you can’t spam it. Unlike the thief backstab that can be cast a lot quicker, you can’t see, and does the same amount of damage.

I keep saying this, but if they reduce screen clutter from combat animations and reduce AoEs, skills like this wont be nearly as complained about.

Reducing general screen clutter will not increase the general skill level of the population. Bad players will be bad no matter what they do. The only difference between a kill shot warrior and a backstab thief is the warrior doesn’t have stealth to cover his butt.

Also, to everyone stating it wrong. Kill Shot is not 1200 range, it is 1500 range.

People seriously still complaining about healing signet? How many months does it take for someone to counter it? Bit of poison and you are done for.

How can I apply poison with my guardian?

Sigil of doom. You can keep poison up 50% (if on both sets) of the time if it is not cleansed. That is without condition duration or added affects.

It’s a pretty broken system if you need to be running specific sigils just to counter one profession.

Nothing wrong with HS, but the poison argument is pathetic. Why do other Warriors forget the level of cleansing a Warrior has (Cleaning Ire, mostly, but not to mention the usual rune/food set)?

Guardians are the one class that have almost no conditions. They also have no bleeds nor torment.

Whereas, the Warrior has no defense boons per say. They have very limited regeneration & vigor and no protection.

Certain classes are restricted to certain rolls but can branch out to new rolls through sigils and runes. I am not saying it is the best out of everything in the game, but 50% up time on poison for having 0 skills that have it is pretty awesome.

No, but it implies certain morals depending on the style/looks. That is why you have key words addressed to many of clothes; such as “sexy”.

I do agree that the armor makes the character look like a hooker (not solely the under boob’s fault, but it is a huge contributor) but if you want your character to look like that, be my guest.

Trying to say, “Wear whatever you want. It has no effect on how you are seen!”. Is rather… unwise. I would recommend watching the Chappelle stand up comedy where he does a skit about clothing and uniforms. It is pretty spot on.

Best group buffing? How can you even remotely be serious about that comment?

Best healing? Again, just a severely uninformed comment. Have you never seen a Guardian AOE BURST HEAL FOR 14K+?

They have more dodges…? How dense must you be about the classes in this game to ever begin to have this thought? Guardian, Mesmer, Elementlist all have perma vigor through critical hits! Rangers have +50% endurance regen for 5 points. The Thief has more teleports and evades on their weapons than a Warrior has access to dodges (Please notice I didn’t even have to include the Thief dodges to already outshine the Warrior. The Thief also recoupes 15 endurance on dodge if traited properly)!

Are you people so inept at this game that you honestly believe the Warrior is the strongest? They are decent, yes, but they will lose to any mildly skilled player of any other class (except for maybe a Elementlist at the moment, even then it is iffy. The Elementlist could easily one shot a stun Warrior if they do their rotation right).

People wonder why the skill level of the general populace in this game is so horrible. You have 0 clue about what class you play or fight. Yet you still call for nerfs and buffs when the vast majority of you have never even played more than one class. Pathetic.

You are spouting an uninformed opinion on a class almost none of you have played (at 80 and geared, because lets be honest, hardly any of you are actual pvpers) formed by a person who got destroyed by the class because they are not good at the game/pvp in general.

Imagine taking a class, putting it in sPvP and going AFK to make tea. If I came back at the end of the game, and it had died, then your “argument” would qualify this as balanced – even if, most of the time, I would live. Clearly (I hope?) this is nonsensical in the extreme.

You shouldn’t make a habit intentionally remembering something wrong. Those habits tend to stick.

It was a 10 point investment. They were Major adept traits (as in you have to choose them) not the minor traits you get for 5 points.

Also, it is more or less around (21 × 15 =) 315 precision for 10 trait points if you keep max adrenaline.
