Whats the average burn damage? WP posted a video where he got 19k for about 2-3 seconds using every burn duration and proc he could. How is 19k burn different from a 19k backstab or 100blades?

Because you can’t do a 19K backstab or 100-blades every second while actively avoiding being hit? Burning SHOULD hit hard, but not that hard.

You know, just like you can’t do 19K burn every second. Not sure how ONE tick of 19K burn equates to “zomg!!11! 19K burn every second!!QQ!11!”

Because you can’t land a single backstab for that much, let alone land a backstab for that much and still have copious amounts of survivability.

People need to stop talking about condition duration like its a comparable stat. Condition duration isnt available on armor or accesories. The game is not built with condi duration as a primary or secondary stat.

They have moved even further away from it being a stat.

Point is you cant run condi duration in armor/accesories even if you want to. Which means for a max condi build you have an almost Complete secondary stats worth of another stat.

Essentially you get more for less investment

Wrong. Just like you need more precision to land more crits, you need more condi duration to maintain the stacks of condis you apply. Working hard to add a stack of condis that don’t last long is as dumb as running a power build without precision.

How about instead of nerfing conditions (especially ones that some specs are reliant on as their soul damaging condition) we instead look at other ways to fix the problem.

For PvE it would make sense for boss type creatures to have access to the resistance boon, condition cleanses or possibly even a flat condi damage reduction.

For PvP it would also make sense for every class to be given varying degrees of the new resistance boon.
It could be tacked on to various traits, skills, utilities etc…

That would solve allot of the problems in PvP.

If they continue to persist then other solutions could be looked at.

This, this, and more of this. You all cry “nerf” now, but what happens when they add the resistance boon? Will you cry “buff”?

Well said. Given this community, I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

Sinister will take it place except vs condition resisting foes or objects.

Except conditions will get nerfed in the next update. Things melt so fast it’s practically a certainty condi will be nerfed

By nerfing condis if the zerker meta is brought back, then the nerf will undermine everything that came out in the last patch. I don’t think ANET will do that. I’m expecting a very subtle nerf to condis realistically. Ideal case would be to balance both condis and zerker builds.

in just 2 seconds i apply 12 stacks of burning and thats not mentioning the extra 2 stacks i can add with trait every couple seconds thats easily 6k damage per second i also have bleeding on the side enough to deal 2500-2900 per second need i to say how high the numbers climb up with confusion torment and poison

you may cleane them bbut not all professions have reliable cleanses and the icing of the cake is all of this skills have cooldowns as low as 4 seconds with the highest being 12 seconds while 1 single cleanse will have a minimum of 15-20 seconds

And what defense do we have against critical damage? Aegis? that too has a very long cool down. Blind? prevents only one attack like aegis and disappears. Don’t even try to bring up toughness because if that was a thing, zerker meta would never have existed.

I’m not the only one noticing how Condi damage has made, world bosses even easier just by how fast they melt now, however knowing you three are probably condi users and will defend condi with your life.

Says the zerker.

The world bosses took longer previously because condi builds weren’t contributing as much in terms of damage. Now that condi builds can dish out as much damage as zerker builds, why is everyone surprised that it is taking less time to kill a world boss? The more damage you deal, the faster the boss goes down. Simple math my friend.

Fix the world bosses. No one wants to go back to a meta where power builds are the only viable ones.

Making the world bosses challenging has nothing to do with “fixing” condition damage. Suggesting that capping condition damage will somehow make world bosses challenging is the same as saying capping berserker build damage will make world bosses challenging.

The world bosses themselves need a rework.

Its not ment for space battle or such, but actually Mankind always wanted to go the moon since always so i wondered why not in tyria. Its not that Anet should add it but i always wondered why there hasnt been an atempt in gw2 or a record of it that they tried.

I know but can you imagine a part of the community going on an on about “omg first they block off access to Cantha and Elona, now they won’t let us goto the Moon? QQ!”

I believe whole space travel thing sounds very strange and awkward given the genre of the game. Can you imagine SAB being part of the actual lore of Tyria? That was just an April Fool’s joke and the whole community is up in arms about SAB not returning. Imagine with the whole moon/space travel thing. Eww, please let’s not add another SAB-like element to the game.

That depends on what the value for Condition Damage is for you. If this number is greater than 700, you will do more damage. If it is lower than 700, then you will do less damage after patch.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that is intentional. Warriors are meant to be masters of using as many weapons as possible, hence the high weapon count. Other professions have different mechanics to make up for this supposed disparity. Elementalists, for example, have access to only a handful of weapons, but they make up for it through the attunement mechanics.

New Fractals – Not rehashed living story crap – Ideas

All the Missions from GW1
Elite Areas from GW1 – The Deep/Urgoz/FoW/UW/DoA
Dungeons from GW1 – Shards of Orr/Cathedral of Flame/Oolas Lab

Re-work the entire Fractal structure/rewards. More gold/Pristine Relics/Relics

Introduce a Fractal NPC Vendor with Fractal Weapon skins (10 pristines each) – needs work idk im spitballing.

Imo this was what fractals was designed for in the first place

FoW/DoA/UW type instances -Elite Areas
Requiring 8 man teams to spend 40+mins in to actually clear
(High risk/Reward System) being able to fail instance (not just keep trying till I win/give up)

Change dungeons to require all paths to be completed. Or remove the path system completely and make a Normal Mode/Hard Mode explorable of each dungeon incorporating the elements from each path.

(This would mean Normal Mode and Hard mode are different paths)

Up the rewards to 120 tokens NM 200 tokens HM (once per day NM or HM not both)


New maps – Already here

Open world

More bosses like Tequatl/Vinewrath/Trip Trouble – However even those do tend to be do mechanic then spam 1.

Buff up older maps – Queensdale, make rifts that appear at certain times and change the shadow Behemoth into the Shadow Aataxe (idk random thought) and make it actually a challenging engaging fight.


WvW – Not HoT specific but included

Remove the WvW concept that is “World Vs World” instead make EBG a multi server bloodbath (similar to EoTM but the same map as EBG)
Borderlands still work in the same way but point gain gives buffs (to ally servers) and reduction in siege stuff.

Obviously increase the EBG cap limit. But the home borderlands would be split into 6 servers in each kinda thing.

Home borderlands would need some sort of incentive to defend/attack too so some specific rewards for home BL fighting/enemy BL fighting (different to the multi server EBG)

Winning the round (weekly) granted the winning participating servers(and participating players) with unique rewards EXCLUSIVE TO THE WVW FIGHTING
Similar to how tournaments worked etc)


20vs 20 PvP guild Raids (Guild Battles)

Open world (like WvW maps but much much smaller with no buildings) for open world 20v20 death match fights. Maybe a bit smaller(15 or 10) would be some terrain (hills/corners/bridges)
Winning teams gain 3k PvP rank points/Guild Comms
Losing teams gain 1k Pvp Rank/less/no comms

New PvP Maps for COnquest

New PvP maps for Teamdeath match (ie courtyard)

Underwater combat map returns!!!!!!! (qq)

What new game modes?
-PvP Strong hold. Okay that’s one.
I have tried this and honestly it was more pve based than pvp. Promised to be the “guild wars” when its 5v5 whut?

-New maps I mentioned already.
-New profession is great, but other than the new maps.. is gonna be in the same dungeons/fractals/pve so levelling it to 80 is no different than the other 8 characters.

-Guild Halls – a new Home instance for crafting stations and meeting up? Yay, can’t travel to different instances as a party sooooooooo.. meh.

The specialisation system/elite specialisation isn’t really changing that much. It’s ultimately going to be press 1 and win @world bosses (which is the majority of the new pve we’re getting in the HoT update) Be honest with yourself please.

Etc Etc? Expand please.
New WvW maps, everyone gets these.

Then how about you take a stab at what you think should be included in HoT that is worth paying for?

I don’t even see realistically right now that HoT is anything other than just a bundle of QoL changes with some new maps.

Yeah the completely new profession, new maps, new elite specializations, new masteries, new guild halls, new game modes etc etc. are just dumb QoL changes. Who in their right mind would even want to pay for something like that?

Once again, I’m excited for the expansion.

Unfortunately it’s release is a minimum of a little less than 3 months away.

Going to have to have something to fill that gap. Can’t keep throwing up mirages in place of the oasis – your audience will die of dehydration long before it arrives.

For those who say, take a break, I can’t. I am a guild leader and my members are bored – repetitive weekly events are barely filling the time.

I’d like to see at least minor communication about what is happening with the base game and whether or not we can expect ANYTHING until release time.

How is minor communication about what is happening going to solve your problem of bored guild members?

And OP, i totally agree, they last last way too long, especially when u’ve been knocked down and was about to get up, then something else knocks you back again even b4 you found your footings. Not only that, but the enemies keep attacking you whilst on the ground. It’s not challenging, it’s hideously annoying. I mean what’s so challenging of constantly disabling your character, while their face is being smashed?

Why wouldn’t you use skills to counter these mechanics when you know you will run into them? That just sounds like poor gameplay on your part.

Well I’m not saying it, it’s a simple fact that the game mechanics favors bigger blobs, other than skills and players numbers the AoE cap and stability change are a buff to blobs and a nerf to smaller groups. It’s not as if blobs needed the game mechanics to be in their advantage, considering they have more people to start with.

And what you’re describing is the nature of WvW. It is intended to be like that. That is true of any war throughout history. The bigger your army, the bigger your chances that you will win.

3 vs 15 Got CC’d to death because you didn’t have enough stability.

Sounds like it’s working as intended. 3 people should not be immune to that much incoming CC.

It does make sense, yes. 3 people should not be able to seriously impact 15 people trying to roll in.
That’s in addition to me personally preferring stack-based effects (in general) because that gives more things to tweak.

That being said, WvW has an overall issue where it doesn’t encourage the two less-populated realms to group up in some meaningful manner. That’s really all it needs to do. Instead it rewards the top two realms raining down on the least populated one.

Whatever it is the stability changes nerfed outnumbered teams and favors zerging, it’s the complete opposite of what WvW needs. Honestly if 5 amazing players could defeat 15 bad players it would be good for the game. Instead Anet is encouraging blobs spamming 1 and rolling over smaller servers.

Also half the problem is the Area of Effect limit, which is way too low.

When 5 people fight a group of 10 people literally half the AoE damage is lost in the AoE cap for the smaller group, but for the group of 10 all their AoE hits target. It’s honestly quite unfair; other games like ESO found the following solution which is way times better than GW2 limit: As an AoE hits more and more targets the damage dealt to additional targets decreases by some scaled percentage.

lol soooo you’re saying that when uneven numbered teams face off against each other, it is unfair to one team. I think you’re in the wrong game mode. Maybe try your hand at PvP which actually does have evenly matched teams pitted against each other.

You know guys, no one is forcing you to buy things in the gem store, right?

I don’t think the bulk of the argument is in being “forced to buy,” though.

Outfits have “pieces” (though they really don’t) that would be really cool to add to the wardrobe, but those bits are unavailable without the entire outfit. Some people want to mix/match outfits, but the pieces aren’t available as a set, just the one item. They say they would buy it if it were a set.

I get the argument, but it’s phrased the wrong way, most of the time. “qq stop outfits” is unproductive, when what the players want/need for this is the option to use those outfit pieces as “pieces,” even though it might not be technically possible. If it is possible, the request should be “Can we have outfits as armor sets as well?” and “Can we earn more armor pieces in game?”

Right and the way you’ve put it makes it an entirely different argument from what the topic of this thread is. Sure the game could do with more collectible armour sets that can be won from dungeons or elsewhere in the game.

These fractal dailies go completely against what Anet wanted the daily system to be. just go inside one fractal of the correct scale (today being a 21-30) and you have already done two of your dailies. No going out to different corners of the world, just pretty much sitting in Lion’s Arch.

Why is you going out to different corners of the world dependent on the daily checklist that ANET hands out? Why can’t you go out into these corners yourself, without anyone telling you to do so?

Still think the problem lies with the dailies?
