if the personal story really gives choices make them visible, have them affect the story and later on see the results for your efforts.

If you mean the launch-era trailers, they have nothing to do with “Living World”. The personal story is indeed affected by your choices, the ones you make at character creation and your choice of order.

yet in the end nothing affects the story, ether way the story barely to not changes whatever you choose.
i finally hat the time to get trough the 1:30 last mission (kill zaithan) and there was nothing to be found of my choices.

It affects the progression of the history, not the ending.

Expecting a personalised ending in an MMO where everyone shares the same story is quite delusional.

the personal story is instanced, there is nothing shared about that.

Actually, it isn’t time to discuss Cantha. People ignore the Orrian architecture in the image and focus on a “Canthan” looking boat… you know, like the one in the Bloodtide Coast loading screen and go batshit crazy.

This is starting to look like a case of misunderstanding and jumping the gun on the OP’s part. If the devs have taken a preliminary look at the issue and have found no glaring issues, chances are it isn’t an issue at all. I would consider this case closed at this point.

With Glint’s scion, Aurene, now part of the story, they could be celebrating her as well. There is definitely enough material in the current lore to support bringing the Zephyrites and their festivals back.

Pretty much all of Canach’s lines are awesome and I suppose can be considered “mature”. Canach’s voice actor is perhaps the best in the game right now. Second in line is Taimi’s voice actor. Does a very good job and delivers lines very professionally given her character (much like Canach’s). I would say Rytlock’s voice actor does a really good job as well. The player character is very hit and miss. Everyone else is more or less bleh…

If you play S2, specifically the episode where Rytlock goes into the Mists, you will notice Imperator Smodur say:

I agree with Kaltyn actually. Kasmeer is too wishy-washy to be part of a guild that is writing the history of Tyria. Take a moment to ponder everything this band of adventurers has done. Now look at Kasmeer… really? She needs to toughen up. I’m not asking to turn her into someone as tough as Spearmarshal Kormir or Varesh Ossa, but also not the mess that she is right now.

Either way, that was a totally lame, out-of-character thing to do. Kas would have never left a wounded Jory, not even for the presence of one of her human gods. It was badly written, that much is for certain.

Also, I don’t think that was out of character for her. I think anyone with faith in the Six would have had the same reaction she did. We’re talking about an actual god here. A god physically revealed himself for the first time in hundreds of years in front of one his believers. Honestly I’m surprised my human character didn’t have a similar reaction. I think that is what was really off about the writing.

The Foefire skin looks pretty good. Going to have to see what it looks like in-game. This just might be my very first skin purchase

Errr no actually. I’ve neither said nor implied that I like the current layout. I actually liked the original more pirate-y themed layout of LA but I see the fact that anytime anything Elder Dragon related stuff happens, LA getting destroyed as a result is becoming cliche. It’s like in Hollywood movies where any anytime an alien invasion happens, or a big monster shows up, or an apocalyptic natural disaster occurs, it’s always New York City that gets blown up. It’s like the rest of the world doesn’t exist or isn’t important enough for the big baddies to pay attention to.

LA has been destroyed and rebuilt enough times. Let’s move on.

While I enjoy the discussion (and do hope for a price reduction for vets in the future), the one important point still stands: It is not fair for newer players to come here and complain about having to pay extra for the upcoming expansion, when vets have done that already for the last expansion. Either people accept the fact that you can’t get all content for free, including future releases, or they don’t — whining about it won’t change that fact.

While I agree with what you are saying, whining by other players is actually what got vets like myself the extra character slot during HoT release. I never participated in the whining and most likely never will, but if someone else’s hard work of whining is getting me freebies, I’m not about to get in their way :P

The problem with that approach is, given enough expansions, the price point will eventually hit 0. Do people really think that is viable for a business if it wants to keep making money? That’s essentially asking ANET to apply their own in-game law of diminishing returns to themselves…

My thinking is that’s not all the scroll does, and even if it does, the fire isn’t any regular fire. If all it took to crack the tooth was a simple flaming arrow, how come no one else thought of it before? I mean, fire vs ice! come on!

There’s more to the scroll and the fire than what was shown to us.

Based on their release cycles, my guess is they will first drop in a “current events” patch and the final episode will be late July/early Aug.

Balthazar could also be referring to the alliance Menzies was a part of, rather than just Menzies himself – which at this point to our knowledge is “just” Menzies and Dhuum now

I don’t think this is a case of ANET going to such lengths to make it a mystery. It would be mysterious enough if he simply used “he”, “she” or whatever else. Yes, if he had used “he”, the most likely character he’d be referring to would have been Menzies, but it still leaves room for other pre-existing male characters or even new characters. The word “they” as you are suggesting would make sense if he didn’t know who had wrong him. But he does know who took his power. He knows because he’s on Tyria to get more power and go right back to settle the matter using his newly gathered power. I find it hard to believe that someone or something stole a god’s power without the god even realizing it. When Balthazar says “they”, he is clearly referring to a group. Whether the group is Menzies + Shadow Army, Menzies + Dhuum alliance, some of the other Six even, a completely new group etc. remains to be seen, but it is definitely more than one character that he is referring to.

Yeah I’ll concede that mesmers aren’t what they were in GW1. That’s the whole reason I don’t have a mesmer in GW2. They were so different that it turned me off. Ended up changing my mesmer to a ranger. But having said that, at least mesmers still exist in GW2.

Unless this gets answered in the final episode, the buildup to the reveal of Lazarus was bad. More clues should have been left behind for those that love speculating (which is pretty much everyone). When I say more clues, I don’t mean blatantly explicit clues like we had for Subject Alpha (the Teeth of Mordremoth skill) but more subtle. This obviously requires more thought and work but that’s what the majority of us have come to expect from the Guild Wars 2 team.
