They went out of phase with Tyria during the last dragon uprising and betrayed the other elder animals like dolyak, sheep, dog, cat, and mouse.
How the heck did “Lazarus” even get to Rata Novus with Marjory supposedly keeping an eye on him?
Same here. Trouble getting into LA. After re-trying I get into LA, but then can’t get into Fractals.
Excellent stuff! Enjoyed it thoroughly. Disappointed they didn’t include Rata Novus and Mouth of Mordremoth. Was secretly wishing for Crystal Oasis too but deep down I knew it wouldn’t be included since this performance was about Heart of Thorns only.
Still, great performance!
Atheism by definition means belief that there is no god. By that definition, all races that do not believe in a god or gods are atheists. Norn would be included since they don’t believe in gods but spirits.
Actually, after you restore Caladbolg, you will learn that the Pale Tree has shown significant improvement in its health according to Mender Aine:
Mender Aine: The Pale Mother seems to have recovered significantly, and I believe we have your efforts to thank for that, Valiant.
Player Character: Is she fully recovered?
MA: Her avatar is awake, but it is simply a means for her to interact with us. The Tree is still hurt, on levels I do not claim to understand. I urge you to not overtax her attention.
PC: Of course, I won’t keep her from her rest for long.
Asura actually make individual teleportation functional, so jumping from one end of the continent to another is not really weird, as long as you are not moving massive amounts of people or material.
Its not Game of Thrones, bookahs!
Actually, given the title of the new episode, it sounds very Game of Thrones-y.
A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords…. and now A Crack in the Ice :P
Also, it is not weird moving from one end to another. It is well known at this point that both Primordus and Jormag are active, so it isn’t out of place at all to be going to the Shiverpeaks.
My bet is that the mind sphere of influence probably went to Jormag since it makes more sense. The way Jormag operates is by luring people by promises of power. It becomes easier for Jormag to sway people if it also holds influence over the mind.
I don’t think we will see burning Risen any more than we will see burning Mordrem. Pre-existing minions will not be subject to this new distribution of magic. Primordus won’t reanimate anyone either. My guess is that each existing Elder Dragon has taken on only one sphere of influence from a dead Elder Dragon. So if we are seeing vine and death touched Destroyers, then that leaves two unclaimed spheres of influence, namely, the mind and shadow spheres. As I mentioned earlier, it is very likely that Jormag has taken over the mind sphere and perhaps the shadow sphere but it is equally also possible that the shadow sphere has been taken over by one of the remaining Elder Dragons or even Aurene.
(edited by Vesuvius.9874)
Given the recent revelation that raw magic is a combination of different forms of magic and that Elder Dragons can absorb the loose magic from other dead Elder Dragons, here are my questions:
1. Does the absorbed magic give dragons a new sphere of influence? Mordremoth’s sphere was Plant and Mind. Does Primordus absorbing Mordremoth’s energy mean that Primordus now holds influence over the sphere of Plant and Mind (or at least one of them) ?
2. Does the fact that Mordremoth and Zhaitan who had two known spheres of influence point to the existence of other Elder Dragons whose magic they had absorbed at some time in the past? That is, was Mordremoth’s ability to influence mind absorbed from some former Elder Dragon of the Mind? Does the same go for Zhaitan?
Mursaat in GW1 were not much taller than humans. Lazarus in GW2 is way bigger. Is there any explanation for his size so far in GW2? I’m not looking for speculative answers like “It must be because he absorbed all that magic from the bloodstone.”
Last night, when I finally got the Sky Commander achievement. RIP Champion Axemaster Gwyllion.
Teef, teef, and teef. Low health pool, no invuln, no protection, no stability…
If you need more health, invulnerability, protection and stability on your thief, then you’re not playing it right. You’ll be better off playing a different class.
Stage 1 aura has always been there. Not sure about the green glow from the third image. That looks new to me but then again, it might also have always been there and I just never noticed it.
A solution for this problem actually existed in GW1. It was called Hard Mode. Before the start of a mission, you could enable hard mode for more challenging content. This was great for those elite groups of players that found normal mode too easy.
Solution is to add hard mode to raids. Move the current level of raid difficulty and rewards to hard mode. In normal mode, make the content easier and also nerf the rewards accordingly.
The Golden City we see is in fact the legendary Mursaat City Saul found mentioned in GW1.
That hasn’t been confirmed in the new Exalted lore article. In fact it says that the city was established by the Forgotten.
They should, of course, OP.
But really, does anyone even doubt that HoT is a rushed product?
All signs are there, really:
- ArenaNet had said that, if they did the Living World right, they wouldn’t do expansions. Yet here we are, showing that something went wrong.
- Reiterating that, the GW2 earnings kept falling through both Living World seasons. They failed to increase earnings the way an expansion do.
- GW2 went free to play. Is there any MMORPG that changed its business mode to free to play because the previous model was successful?
- At the same time, NCSoft began distancing itself from GW2, despite how it own 100% of ArenaNet; they will not publish the game anymore, which is a way to soften their losses if the game tanks.
- Meanwhile, the former Lead Designer, Eric Flannum, has just left ArenaNet. The signs are all there that there’s something wrong in Denmark.
- And let’s take a look at HoT? Four maps. Just four. All this time, and they can’t make more than that.
- “Two new armor sets”. They release more content into the Gem Store than this and yet the expansion will have only two armor sets.
- A few legendary weapons with more to come “later”. The last time ArenaNet said we would get more legendary weapons “later”, it took them 2 years to talk about the subject again.
- No raid at release. A very vague promise of releasing one wing of one raid some unspecified moment after release.
- A massive amount of bugs on HoT, despite how we’re at one month before release.
- Very poor balance between specializations. ArenaNet made a lot of changes to the previous specializations after the previous betas, showing how little they had been tested, but there has been nowhere similar time to test the last two.
And so on, and so on and so on.
It’s clear that HoT is ArenaNet’s last chance and they are in a hurry to release it soon. I wonder if said hurry won’t be their downfall, when the expansion arrives filled with bugs and lacking content.
Thanks for the laughs dude. See you at launch!
Druid lore is no different from reaper lore, tempest lore, or the lore of any other specialization.
At this point, OP comes across as arguing just for the sake of arguing.
The musical performance was absolutely insane!! It was the best part of the entire event (or at least up there with the reveal of the trailer :P )
Does anyone know if the video (or even just the audio itself) of the live performance was saved anywhere? I’d love to watch it again… a few million times.
Looks like Scapper is the last elite profession to get a POI…
https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/644904491263881216
I guess Anet really does hate rangers…
Will ranger still be getting an elite spec or has it been removed all together?
Drama runs deep in this one.
Connection1 : Scarlet, a sylvari, talked about hearing voices in her head, blew up LA and woke up Mordremoth.
Connection 2: Aerin, a sylvari, goes crazy after Mordremoth wakes up, destroys the Zephyrite fleet.
Connection 3: A lot of sylvari turn against the Pact after the Pact decides to take on Mordremoth.
How are you still confused about why people think sylvari are dragon minions?
New patch today, introduced pvp crashing. Just thought I’d let you guys know (op).
another bug via update per usual.
If you knew even the slightest thing about game development, or even just plain development in general, you’d know that bugs are inevitable. Please keep that in mind the next time you decide you let the world know of this obvious fact.
If they have stated clearly that they have no plans, I’d chuck ’em. Why waste precious inventory space?
Why would you keep it if you can spend it now?
Did school end early today?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-mordrem-guard/
Well, seems like I was right about the whole “the Mordrem Guards are former Pact Sylvari”. :’p
How do they explain why Scarlet and Aerin continued to have a Sylvari appearance rather than a Mordrem appearance even though they were under the control of Mordremoth? Could they have been considered Mordrem Guard as well?
The racist Charr near him constantly whining about Sylvari and Skritt makes it even worse. Wish I could stab him in the neck.
Except he’s not talking about Skritt. In GW1 EotN you have to work with a Charr and he calls Gwen, “Mouse”. I think he’s referring more to Humans than Skritt.
True the Charr have called Gwen a mouse, but the Charr in question here specifically says “talking mice”. He’s referring to the Skritt.
If Mordremoth can attack the Mother Tree in the Grove, it can attack anywhere!
I must not let fear poison my heart…
Sure no problem… Can we get 5 seconds of immunity against power based damage after receiving some form of healing too? /s
LOL! I vote in favour of this “feature” :P
If Anet didn’t do this, you’d be beta testing at launch and not calling it a beta test.
lol it’s always so much fun when Vayne drops his anti-tantrum anti-QQ bomb of reason, sanity, and rationality He never disappoints!
So, content that pretty much all other MMOs are slowly but surely dropping, content that only 5% of the playerbase does….
How does one justify spending ANY money on that.
5%? Do you have a source for that number? You may want to justify your claim first.
Naw guy. No time for testing. Just release HoT first. Then you can do all the testing you want afterwards.
Yes it has.
Hype?….interesting?, its a Thief, ….no no….nooope, does not “stick” with the Thief.
But it’s not a thief. It’s a daredevil…
Probably the most interesting elite spec revealed to date. It’s right up there with the Chronomancer. I don’t play a thief but that looks crazy!!
I could just see it.
Anet: Ok guys/gals we are going to put Engi and Druid into the beta weekend but be forewarned they have not been finished and are still completely unplayable.
Players: Both Engi and Druid need a lot of work they seem to be unplayable.
Anet: As we stated both classes are unfinished and unplayable, but you all wanted fair equal test time.
Players: I don’t get it why would you put unplayable, unfinished classes in for testing, it makes no sense, what are we suppose to test ?
Anet: Ok next Beta weekend Engi’s and Druids will be removed from testing so we can finish working on them and make them playable so testing is more accurate.
Players: WHAT ! This is BS now they don’t get as much test time, it’s unfair, I want to play Engi or Druid.
Anet: ……..
LOL! That made my day!
OP really needs to read that. Then, read it again.
Thng is, you have given nothing for anet to work on here. If feedback is your intention, perhaps some details with ideas would help them understand where u think these tweaks should lie.
Randalf, your right about that. I have not. & for good reason. What could i add that has not bin said before on so many threads? Besides i’m tired trying to reason & add my cup of tea. This is more a cry for something more then whats offered on the plate. & i’m not saying that some ppl do not appreciate stronghold, but i am saying there prolly more that does not.
Soooo this is just a pointless ranting thread then?
Pointless to answer your question. *sigh…facepalm.
The thread was a question if you took time to read the title.
I’m pretty sure saying you’re bored without explaining why constitutes as pointless.

Oh look OP is screaming. ANET’s really going to fix things now.
Pretty sure it’s just you.
Is there some unwritten law that says all marriage ceremonies need someone in a tuxedo and another wearing a wedding dress? :p
Also consider the fact that the human wedding outfits are what’s worn in Christian weddings? What if someone is from a different religion? What if they’re atheist?
The reason why men dress as men and women dress as women is because there’s a norm that dicates what you should wear.
Yeaaaaaaah I’m pretty sure I’m not being dictated to by anyone or anything what I should wear. What I wear are my own choices. Not sure where you got that idea from.
It does not mean that people are being discriminated by intent. However there’s obvious reason to question the ideas and inspiration of the armour and outfits of each gender.
Extremely feminine gear that can not be worn by male characters and vice versa. Most of the gear styles of today’s games spring from rather outdated ideals of how women and men should look and what they should wear. More important, the fact that it suggests that a man that wants to wear women clothing can not do so, and the other way around.
By not allowing for cross-gender outfits or gear you further strengthen these ideals, and by doing so you start to discriminate people whether it’s intended or not.I wanted to raise a debate about this because I feel like it’s an important issue. As I stated in anoher post I want everyone to feel welcome in the Gw2 universe, and that people should be able to relate to the game.
I’m curious why you picked the wedding dress outfit of all things in the game? The issue you’re highlighting holds true for every armor set in the game, so why specifically single out the wedding dress outfit for this?
Remember that the gaming community aka. Nerds were once oppresed in a sense, I feel like it’s taken a wrong turn in that it is now discriminating others, and I want this to change.
Wow! Did you just call everyone here a nerd? That’s really insensitive. You’re really not going to get any support by name calling.
Apologies if someone else has mentioned this..
So are we only getting to pay anet more money to celebrate that the game has been out 3 years?
No new content//events//even drops.. would be nice to have even birthday cupcakes drop from every mob.. that gave a temporary stat boost :v?Just going to leave this here..
I’d rather they be working on the expansion than on silly distractions like birthday cupcakes.
Nice. I managed to vendor an ascended axe once, but I never contacted support. (It was days later when I logged back on the char and saw the axe was gone).
Don’t all vendors have a buyback option where you can buy back items you’ve accidentally sold?
give Warrior elite spec. "za warudo!" shout!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Vesuvius.9874
“mudamudamuda” , “oraoraoraora” and “wryyyyyyyyy” also work.
Engi gets gadget goonies reference, why can’t warrior get a jojo reference shouts?
+1’d. The elite spec should be called “Star Platinum”
The Revenant elite specialization comes with a new grandmaster trait called Elder’s Force. Given that the elite specialization is based on Glint, I’m started to wonder if Glint was an Elder. At this point, it looks like the Elders are either the race of dragons that Glint belonged to or this secret group working behind the scenes to protect Tyria that Konig mentioned.
I expect the group refers to the following individuals:
- Ogden
- Pale Tree
- Gleam
- Master of Peace
- Livia
- E
It’s starting to look more and more like Ogden really wasn’t referring to the Elder Dragons when he mentioned the Elders.
Talk to Ela Makkay in Lion’s Arch near the Durmand Priory Research Site for a recap.
