Haha, I just got trolled hard by dragon coffers. I thought some of the skins were cool looking and decided to give one of my characters a jade assassin type theme. There were only 3 skins that I needed for the build I was using and I had 1500 coffers saved up. 960 coffers in and I already got 3 tickets, so I was pretty happy as I could save the rest and sell them later. Then I decided that there were 2 more skins that would also fit in nicely. Not only do the 540 remaining coffers not give me one single ticket, but I buy 750 more coffers which also give me absolutely nothing. Maybe the 2 extra skins I wanted aren’t worth it after all
And who is this Jakob guy that is so famous?
Jakob is a burnt plant, but he tastes good if used correctly as seasoning on a meal served with white wine.
What are your thoughts on a sword/shield combo instead of sword/focus? I’ve been running a healing power guardian for small to large group WvW that uses sword/shield and staff, but was thinking about swapping out the staff for a gs and doing more solo to small group stuff. The times that I’ve been alone on my current build I’ve found the shield knockback to be incredibly useful for interrupting critical skills such as thief stealth, and has also helped me to win several 1vX fights by using it in combination with smart kiting and cliffs
. Plus the shield 5 also has a heal on it to benefit from the healing power, let me know what you think.
Distracting strikes used to give 3 stacks of confusion, not 1. It is now buffed to 4 stacks. I’ve played around with warrior builds using distracting strikes awhile back and you don’t do mass confusion damage with them. Problem is, to apply confusion you need to interrupt them (with stomp, bulls charge, stun skills, etc.), but when they are interrupted/knocked down/stunned they aren’t doing anything so they take no damage from confusion. By the time the control effects wear off so they can take actions, the confusion is mostly gone. Distracting strikes may be good if you’re running some condition build and want a little extra damage on the side, but not something to build your char around.

All of the CD currently in the jumping puzzle are quite possibly the worst players I’ve ever seen. 3 hours, a 6v1, and a 10v2 and you finally manged to kill me.
They could just be silly little PvErs that don’t know better. Just a thought since Anet decided to place an Achievement at the end of the EBJP, which was a cruel joke for the PvErs.
I thought that initially until I saw their WvW ranks. Most of them are 40+. Almost all of them were from the same guild and based on the use of traps looked somewhat familiar with the puzzle. The past 3 hours have been quite comical.
A d/p thief huh? Tell me more about how hard it is to avoid being killed please.
The best part of this post is when he ends it with “Greetings!!”
To keep reasonably on topic of thread: TC reached out to PVE crowd for months ..
Is TC recruitment strategy the topic of this thread? Interesting.
Most importantly, the maps for WvW provide several settings that result in interesting play styles that simply aren’t possible with the sPvP maps. There’s even a site set up so that guilds can set up their own GvG matches in WvW and track their rating at gw2gvg.com.
this is by far not even close to gvg.
this is zerg vs zerg not more
srsly its nothing more than a joke
i lol’d when i saw the zerg-ladder
10v10 is zerg vs zerg? GW1 GvG was 8v8. You can agree on whatever size you want when you contact the guilds you want a GvG with. But you’re right, guardians and elementalists running around in a tiny circle spamming heals is much closer to GvG.
WAGON COAST WAGON COAST!!!!! wah wah wah !!!
Well, this certainly creates a visual.
I liked your first comment better.
Hey OP, you forgot Plague of Darkness and Well of Darkness, here’s a link to the thread :P.
TC also has incredible forum coverage.
LOL I am not bashing I am just saying…..Necro was not bad I agree but it wasn’t good either.. NOT if you compare to any other class you could get on and play.
How else would you judge how good they are if not by comparing them to other classes? I’ve played every class except engineer quite a bit, and necros can’t match any of them for easy mode skills like invulnerability, evade spam, boon spam, and invisibility. I would say I main guard and necro since I play those two classes the most and it is hilarious how many mistakes you can make on a guard and still survive and recover. Thief is even more hilarious.
I think this is the reason it was nerfed.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Necro-Corrupt-Boon-a-little-on-the-OP-side/first
Guy browsing through necro skills, sees corrupt boon. “WTF, I can’t spam LoLYourselves mindlessly?” Makes thread saying it should only convert 5 condis. Dev reads thread and says, “Seems about right, let’s do this.” and Boom, CB nerf.
Necro was one of the worst, if not the worst, class for a long time so very few people main a necro. Now that they were finally brought up to speed, all the people who made elementalists, mesmers, and thieves are mad because they lost all of their “skill”.
Imagine a world where every server had the exact same population and coverage, you would be fighting new servers in competitive matches every week! Grats on your server stacking idiots, you ruined the game for both yourself and everyone else.
Dispersion of WvW guilds will be unequal anyway -> some servers begin lead -> WvW guild recruitment started (no one want to be stomped) -> guild transfers -> WvW-stacked servers -> migration of casuals (no one want to be stomped) -> top tiers stacked with PvE and WvW population.
This is natural and logical process, you cant stop it without stopping transfers.
I agree, people in general are morons.

I played sPvP/tPvP a lot when the game first came out, but quickly found that the game mode is boring to play, boring to watch, and as a result gets stale very quick. Coming from GW1 where I could play GvG, HA, RA, TA, FA, JQ, AB, HB and probably some other modes I’m forgetting about it felt like GW2 PvP was in beta. I initially thought that they had rushed the release and would come out with additional PvP modes, but it’s approaching a year after release and nothing is in the works so I gave up on it. WvW on the other hand has a much more diverse PvP setting. You have more stat customization because all your equipment stats aren’t lumped onto one piece of gear, there’s stat combinations/runes that aren’t available in sPvP, and food buffs allow you to further customize your build. Want to run a terror necro with 2s fears without having to trait into soul reaping? You can use a food buff to get 40% condition duration instead opening up a whole new set of viable terror necro builds. There is also much more diversity in play style as you can solo roam and find 1v1s, you can run around in a huge zerg and have 50v50, plus everything inbetween. Most importantly, the maps for WvW provide several settings that result in interesting play styles that simply aren’t possible with the sPvP maps. There’s even a site set up so that guilds can set up their own GvG matches in WvW and track their rating at gw2gvg.com. I agree that WvW builds not transferring over to sPvP is one reason why people choose not to switch over, but that only scratches the surface of the problems with sPvP that cause people to not play it.
SOS facing TC for 4 weeks in a roll
Thieves are a terrible profession, one of the weakest in the game. Please buff their BS damage back to 15k+ so that I will won’t be able to kill them while half-asleep anymore.
Post a video of you fighting a thief and I will tell you what you’re doing wrong.
RET ported to FA BL to save garri, we then see swords at south camp so we go to check. We see 30+ DB and 30+ CD in our Borderland. We smell bags. We acquire bags. DB then builds a bunch of siege and wipes us.
That is the story of what happened at FABL south camp. We did not hear about a GvG and purposely go to ruin it. Don’t do it in our BL :P
30+ CD huh? Don’t get a job in banking please.
Edit: Bonus material! I found a pic I took of FA wiping us, numbers were included to facilitate your counting process and ensure greater accuracy.
So… i think i see 12 people in your screenie… I did not know that GvG went below 15v15. perhaps ur buddies released and started running back? =P
NS vs. TDS, pay very close attention to the size column.

Likewise, CD with it’s last two matches has had artificial gains and continues to pull away.
wat?
And several PvE noobs were slain in the EB JP
And it was good
Necros are so OP, please nerf. I main a necro and can now regularly win 1v3 fights, I miss having a challenge in 1v1 fights
Stealth disruptors don’t give revealed if there aren’t any stealthed players in the trap radius when it is triggered. So if a thief is visible and triggers the trap while visible, it will have absolutely no effect, kind of like a player with no supply running over a supply trap. I’ve fought plenty of thieves who run over the trap and then stealth 2 seconds after because the trap doesn’t do anything to visible players. An interesting thing though is that if a visible thief triggers the trap while a stealthed thief is nearby within the trap radius, it will apply revealed to both the stealthed thief and the visible thief. So if you’re trying to bait a thief into the trap, make sure to get them to use stealth first. Source of the information comes from me trolling thieves all day everyday with stealth traps.
thief, mesmer, d/d ele, bm ranger.
Just curious, hows the small man action on these servers? or is it just zerg fest everywhere?
Zerg fest everywhere.
Who is [Kome] and why do you run?
Who is this and why don’t you dare to show your guild tag?
Showing your guild tag is scary :O
I didn’t know JP camping still bothered people so much. So you’re on DB? I will make sure to go camp your BL JP also. Have fun!
It does sound like that, doesn’t it? Actually I haven’t been able to play in 2 days
Even so, I’m sure he would slaughter me too (see sig). I don’t understand the mindset of doing what he did with the screenshots. The victories speak for themselves. Does he need to be so childish on public forums?
I’m even more childish on private forums, consider yourself lucky.
I went down and rallied about 3 seconds later from killing the sentry. Any other questions?
Well that does explain the stacks. There is 20 minute gap between the first four or so pictures, but I guess it’s possible nothing happened in that time.
Maybe you should set up a live stream so that you can brag about your awesome skills in real time.
I’ve thought about it.
Welp, I did a little solo roaming in DB BL this morning, and I took pictures! First, I ran into an ele who hesitated to attack me at first but eventually got up the courage and engaged. Unfortunately, he went down in about 5 seconds. Next a thief and warrior decide they want a 2v1 fight, but they don’t fare much better and both go down in about 15 seconds. Then a necro and engi see me and despite having a 2v1 advantage decide they want to have a hug party with the sentry. I figure they need the extra help and engage anyway. The engi goes down and dies quick, then the sentry dies, then the necro decides to try run for the garrison but also goes down. Mr engi spawns at the garrison and runs back to try save the necro but is too late, and once again he goes down fast. Fortunately for him, Mr d/d ele shows up to res him so that they can get back to their 2v1 odds. The ele gets wrecked and runs off, but after consecutive outnumbered fights, Mr engi finally manages to down me… and then he gets downed himself once again. Since he went down after me though, he had the health advantage and won the fight. Mr engi then decides he will dance on my corpse in celebration of his awesome victory. Quite impressive.
There is a hole in your little story here. Your stacks of corruption seem to have been wiped out a few times.

I can’t get over the amount of roamers from CD chase me halfway across the map until I get sick of them behind me, so I turn around to fight and the first thing they do is turn away and run as soon as they realize they’re not facing an upleveled scrub.
Why were you running from them in the first place?
Not sure which is worse, TC zerg or DB zerg. Hmmmm..
I vote for TC zerg, because after they wipe your 10 men with their 50+ they come on the forums and post that you should see it as an opportunity to learn superior tactics from them.
Jokes aside, if anything then it was Mag concentrating on you guys instead of us for the most time, and not due to some “gift” from CD, so don’t expect any gratitude.
That’s exactly what he said.
In the process of running from your zerg I found a superior ac. WTF MAG??
Did it have #magswag on the handle? Because, if it didn’t that’s not ours.
I think the handle said “W wuz hear”
Speak for yourself. I’m up most nights trying to think of creative ways to get infracted.
Did you know saying CoC looks like a certain pair of infamous butt cheeks will get you infracted? And so will calling people “pedantic”?
I find this post shallow and pedantic.
Me too bro, the other night I was with this girl and… oh, you mean GW2 down state. Yeah, I agree with that too.
I really miss the Kaineng/Crystal Desert/Yak’s Bend match ups
How lovely it must feel to have not one, but two servers with a similar population and participation to yours so much that it’s an intensely close game. Must be great to actually be able to have a somewhat balanced match in a tier. Please tell me more about how that feels. Being a Maguuman, I wouldn’t know.
Actually Ebay is right in there too, so there’s 3 other servers that will result in extremely close matches if we get paired with them. As for how it feels, it’s kind of like smashing your face into a tiered wedding cake and not caring what anybody thinks.
… “go attack them why they’re stealthed” is the best and most viable counter.
Cool! Where do I attack?
I’ve posted this before, but the problem is that MMO players are highly driven by incentives and at the moment there is absolutely no incentive to play on lower ranked (often times losing) servers. Players on the winning servers get to run around mowing down enemies left and right due to sheer numbers (providing plenty of loot and experience), can capture towers and keeps with little effort, and get tons of bonuses because of their ridiculously high scores. I think if something as simple as giving larger event rewards the lower your server rating is were to be implemented, the server populations would even out a lot more. For example, if players on ET got 200% more xp, wxp, karma, and gold from WvW events I would wager there would be a large group of players willing to transfer there. As players stack on to ET, their rating would rise and their event bonuses would drop, which would cause other players in high rating servers to search for other low rated worlds to transfer to. Assuming players continue transferring in search of higher event bonuses, the system would eventually result in all servers having roughly the same rating, which would be ideal.
They should make a food buff that makes your attacks remove food buffs from enemies. It would balance everything.
tbh i just have this feeling that is is going to be
sor/bg/tc this week
jq/db/sos
fa/mag/ebayits just a gut feeling
So then that would mean…
cd/yb/knI like the sound of that.
Our top 3 most likely matches are cd/kain/ebay, cd/yb/ebay, and cd/yb/kain with about a 6% chance for each of the first 2 and about a 5% chance for the third, so hopefully next week will be good.
I don’t think the combo will be as good as people think it is since fear counts as both a stun and condition allowing people to reduce its duration to almost nothing through melandru runes and food buffs. Not to mention stun breakers are getting added to several more skills allowing almost every single smart build to have at least one. However, as I like to do a lot of solo roaming in WvW I can’t wait for the typical d/d or d/p thief to try to spam 2 on me while I just keep strafing through the spectral wall. The trolling will be more epic than a guardian with wall of reflection fighting a short bow ranger.
She’s obviously from GW1 where necros could use swords.
